How can be manage a who state then? Just because he is an Ngwa man, then you're clamouring for him to be voted for? Ngwakwe, stop playing politics of religion, ethnicity and clan. Shine1177: Can prayer replace hard work? I see people praying Buhari win this primary after acknowledging that Atiku worked and he's the man to beat. Let the best man win.
Anyway the seat at Aso Villa is knocked down till 2019. The Apeeshit presidential candidate is irrelevant. They have lost already. That said, I wouldn't elect Bin Buhari for the position of a dog catcher; he is senile, unintelligent, arrogantly ignorant and worst of all has proved to be indolent. His idea of leadership is to answer to a big title, enjoy the display of power while delegating all the accompanying responsibility to someone else. When he was head of state, it was Idiagbon doing the hard graft. As PTF maximum ruler, Afri-Project Consortium took responsibility for everything. |

Propaganda or no propaganda, if in the midst of Objokes civilian dictatorship coupled with Iwuruwu's perfidy, the people of Anambra can reject the shenanigans of the PDP in their state, what exactly is stopping Abia? If the people of Imo can eject an incumbent PDP governor, what excuse do Abians have? Liberate yourselves now from external PDP slavery, now. Vote APGA, Vote Alex Otti! |

It's not all about party thing, guy u quoted told u APGA has the best candidate among the crop contesting in Abia so far,it was not a dig at APC or whatever. You first raised the issue of sentiments in politics, that's actually the problem APC has in Igboland. They throw up candidates based on sentiment n expect igbos to follow accordingly,we are not sheep.Ngige,ur test candidate in Igboland is only popular in parts of Anambra state n the Nigerian media, not the whole state. That's why he lost, not because APC is forbidden anywhere.Put up a good candidate here,as you do in Lagos, and see if he would not make an appreciable impact.Heck,APC has elected HOA members here, they didn't fall from the moon. I really get tired of people like you who colour every political discourse, especially as concern the East, with your tribal shit. Not even sure you've been as far from home as Benin city as to make you any sort of authority on Igbo politics. Thanks Bro, This is the kind of daft resort to ethnicity that makes most people consider APC toxic. For the records, APC was formed by 3 political leaders; Buhari (CPC) from the NW, Tinubu (ACN) from the SW and Ogbonnaya Onu (ANPP) from the SE. These are the facts but some ignorant clowns will be quick to tell you about how we have rejected Apeeshit because of bla bla... |

Collynzo9: Your first post was totally off key, this one makes more sense. Chime performed for Enugu, he is in PDP, Obi performed and Obiano is performing for Anambra, they are in APGA, Rochas was voted in as an APGA member before he defected to APC. So it is more about individuals than party. Right now APGA has the very best candidate for Abia governorship position and I believe they will vote for him. APGA is our party. We need to send PDP a very clear message. Alex Otti and Captain Iheanacho for Abia and Imo States. We need to spread the good job APGA is doing in Anambara to these states and rebuild our homeland. |

ROSSIKE: There have been NO ''similar predictions'' about Nigeria in the past, and if you say they have been, NAME THEM, AND BY WHOM. Don't just come in here to make empty claims without evidence. The "similar" prediction was that Nigeria's GDP will overtake that of South Africa by 2020. This was achieved in 2014 with 6 years to spare. Note that this "similar" prediction was made when Nigeria's GDP was 3rd behind South Africa and Egypt. As reforms in the Agric and Power sectors combine with the new Industrial Policy, we will continue to confound nay sayers. The only thing that's missing is the reforms in the energy sector (PIB and subsidy) and we will take our rightful place. |

simpleseyi: MKO Abiola got lillte or no vote in the South-East and South-South, yet he defeated Bashir Tofa. Muhammadu Buhari too can do without your votes.
Buhari is insulting Ibos, Awolowo insulted Ibos, Muritala Muhammed insulted Ibos, Benjamin Adekunle insulted Ibos, Olusegun Obasanjo insulted Ibos, T.Y. Danjuma insulted Ibos, Jeremiah Useni insulted Ibos. Why Always Ibos? An Ibo soldier name Emeka Ezeogwu lead the first coup in Nigeria and killed Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba leaders while hiding Azikiwe abroad and Awolowo in prison (courtesy Zik and Tafawa Balewa). Another Ibo soldier named Aguyi Ironsi started tribalism in the Nigerian Army by relegating non-Ibos soldiers to the background before the Hausa/Fulani soldiers put him where he actually belongs (the grave). Yet another Ibo soldier named Agbari Ojukwu started a senseless war without preparation and expected Awolowo to be supplying him food and Hausa/Fulani/Yoruba soldiers to come to war front and be nice and friendly with Ibos (war no be owambe party). Interestingly over 3 million Ibos were used for pepper soup and suya. That was several years ago, better stop crying and move on with your lives. Na war oh! How did you manage to pack so many inaccuracies into 2 short paragraphs? In these days of Google, you shouldn't be making all these mistakes. In 1993, there were 2 states in the SE (Imo + Anambra), MKO won one while Tofa won the other with a narrow margin. An Igbo soldier named "Emeka Ezeogwu" only exists in the fevered imagination of the drunk that told you this rumour in your favorite beer parlour. |
Politics › Re: Middlebelt, Should We Still Vote Goodluck Come 2015 In Majority Like 2011? by Curlieweed: 10:56pm On Dec 03, 2014 |
NafeesaAA: The middle belt has Benue, Kwara, Kogi, Nassarawa, Niger and Plateau states in its fold. Majority of Benue and Plateau do not want to be associated with the North. They are the' Middle belters'. To them, North is synonymous with Islam and backwardness and so they do not belong there. One can still have a handful of them in Kogi and Nassarawa states. The middle belt agitators are all Christians because the middle belt concept is not political but religious. They have grudges with the 'core North' that they are only used and dumped. Note that Gowon, Babangida and Abdussalam are all from there but the duo of Babangida and Absussalam are not seen as middle belters because they are Muslims. They are still 'marginalised'. There is an unholy alliance between them and the Christian south who have sympathy for them because they are being 'oppressed'. The region has vast and untapped solid mineral resources and is rich in agriculture. I assume they talk fire and brimstone because Nigeria still remains 'one'. They will always have solidarity with their sympathisers. If Nigeria should divide, they will be trapped at the middle. The South will never accept them as their own because whether they like it or not, to an average Southerner, they are also abokis and mallams. They have ruined their relationship with the North unnecessarily and they are not welcome in the south. They have even extended their 'middle belt' up to Niger, Taraba, Kaduna and Adamawa. Though these states have many Christians in their fold, they still see themselves as Northerners largely. The agitation will die naturally because no sympathisers and the North they see as an enemy is the only place they have. They will be accepted back with caution. Plateau and Benue states alone cannot form a country. Na war! These few words of dismissal for over 200 ethnic groups in the NC. Funny enough, I have an NC Muslim friend who refused to go back to a particular mosque after a particularly hate filled sermon directed against "Arne Plateau". A lot of the criticism I have heard were actually ethnic (directed at Hausas and Fulani) rather than strictly religious. I understand that a number of Kogi, Niger and Osun state indigenes were killed during the Kaduna Sharia riots even though they were fellow Muslims. The issues are complex and can't be tied to religion or ethnicity in a simple way. |
Politics › Re: Why Buhari Will Get Less Than 1% Igbo Vote by Curlieweed: 8:08pm On Dec 03, 2014 |
Eziachi: What has my age got to do with this discussion? My problem is why some of you are busy taking medication for another persons illness? If Jonathan is a fellow Igbo like me and you, I will understand where some of you are coming from, purely because of Nigeria brand of politics. But honestly I don't get it. Look at the Yoruba and what happened in Ekiti recently, that will tell you that they put their eggs both in PDP and APC, just in case. Never mind what some writes on Nairaland, not all of them sleep with APC. Look at the north, the same scenario, take a look at our neighbours and reflect on the recent APC rally in Akwa Ibom, the same scenario too. Why do some of you took it upon yourselves to turn an Ijaw man's presidency and personal ambitions and aspirations into an Igbo problem? It doesn't make any sense. This is not even about Buhari, because Jonathan can still win but what happens after his presidency, if you now mortgage your future around his? I want you to coherently explain it to me. Maybe you knew something I don't. Sorry to burst your bubble but winners never stop reminding the other side. The British takes every opportunity to remind the Germans, that they won the war even though Germany is better than them now economically. Do I like that? No! But that is fact of life. I don't understand where the "eggs in one basket" came from. There are 5 SE states. One APC, one APGA and 3 PDP. How is that all your eggs in one basket. The SE even has an apeeshit Presidential candidate. I don't understand why people regurgitate non-factual statements and propagate them without doing a simple sense check. Some time ago, we were hearing that the Igbo were marginalized because they were not "united", now some retards are saying they are exhibiting "herd mentality". How does "lack of unity" and "herd mentality" compliment each other? This is just an example of contradictory, "anything goes criticism". Some simple minded slowpoke comes up with these daft statements and the unsuspecting repeat them until they assume a life of their own. For the record, Buhari is a fundamentally flawed candidate. If you forget about the propaganda and look at his actual record, there is no way he should even get 1% of the votes in the entire country. Just take a look at the way he has been tying himself into knots trying to explain the source of funding for his quixotic presidential wild goose chase. "It was a bank loan". "No, it's crowd funding". I just hate hypocrites. Yet, everyone knows that huge sums of money simply grew wings and vanished every time he was trusted with a position. And the imbec.ile keeps bleating "kwarauption, kwarauption". |
