There was even when it was 160, the mediocrity projected by JAMB's cut off mark was what brought about PUME. Even then schools still tried a lil to adhere to the cut off mark, but had this way they calculate aggregate scores in such a way that if you didn't do well in JAMB _ you have to do exceptionally well in PUME to gain admission.

It has always been schools setting individual cut off marks, not JAMB.

I repeat, when was your time that JAMB cut 250? Which year biko?

BTW, I propose increase in JAMB's cut off.
The only lapse I see here is lack of adequate information. The aspiring undergraduates should have been notified ahead.

you hardly see any nigeria university adhering to the 180 cut off mark stipulated by the Jamb...most of them place their cut off marks at 200 but if this case of unilag placing theirs at 250 is true,then that is barbaric and outrageous and they must be stopped and sanctioned

Come to think of it, 180 cut off mark is way too low to gain admission in a well sought after school. During our time, 250 was considered as the threshold but I understand that times have changed and standards have dropped now hence the need to reduce it.

Again, I believe You shouldn't expect candidates who got 180 and those who scored 230, 240 and above to be accorded the same opportunities considering the school infrastructures are well overstretched and they have limited spaces up for admission.

As for me, I believe Jamb has no business setting cut-off marks for candidates. That job should only be undertaken by the school, NUC or Ministry of Education.

I have a friend/business partner in Nigeria I do business with and he's been telling me about this ferry business. He said it's quite lucrative (up to N200,000/day rental). He has the contacts in Lagos to do the business but firstly, I want to know if it's really that lucrative- I have been on a ferry in Lagos a few times around Apapa and also in Badagry.

Also, does anyone know where to buy these ferries and how much they cost? Any advice/warning would me much appreciated.

Good observation! I too support the idea of women involvement in each team. But if you're here to repeat this gender equality thing, I'm sorry to let you know that there is nothing equal between men and women.

I don't know what the fuss is about postponing the elections just because some people have not been able to collect their pvc's. What should call for postponement is if inec have not been able to adequately train their staff on the card readers and other items to be used in the election.

If after 4 years inec is not ready for 2015 elections at this time, then they never will be ready if we even postpone it for 1 additional year.

For the pvc's not yet obtained by eligible voters, inec should allow people with their tvc's still vote. Additional staff should be employed so as the card readers and pvc's are doing theirs on one side, those with tvc's should be doing theirs manually simultaneously.

As for insecurity in NE (Yobe, Adamawa and Borno), elections there can be moved to a later date not more than a few days after each election so as to enable the Nigerian Military deploy more than enough troops to those states. This method will cost us additional funds therefore if the budget has to be adjusted to accommodate this, it should be done immediately.

We all know rigging is the stock in trade of pdp. Mr. Yar adua even confirmed it. in as much as I want pdp out in ekiti state and foresee fayose not completing his tenure, this audio recording is not enough to nail him in front of a judge because it does not explicitly show irregularities. Hard evidence like stuffed ballot boxes, multiple voting, underage voting e.t.c should be dug out and presented and we shall gladly escort fayose out of ekiti state.
