I have no idea why Ramsey plays in that team. He is as useful only as Bendtner! I think Wenger needs to stop paying for players that do not help the squad: Ramsey, Arsharvin, Chamakh, Squillaci even Diaby! Ramsey is about the most annoying and Arsharvin these days!

Nchara:
Too late. Hausa, Fulani, Kanuri, Middle Belt, Igbos and Niger Delta will crush any Odua rebellion. Like 1967 like now. We are stuck together, we are one. You wanted it that way, you have it that way.
As usual, outright racial and tribalistic posturing from Nchara and his co-tribalists! You didn't let those tribes which you secretly hate decide, you already concluded for them what they must do? Read your history because the overload of the Akpu in your stomach will not help you when you finally get your wish. How has this got to do with the civil war of 1967 or you are smarting from another recent propagandization of your akpu filled stomach? Was it not on another thread you tribalists were discussing how to "pull out of the corpse"? Make up your mind because when all these embers of war you fan blows into a real conflagration, you will never show-up even in Benin Republic (assuming you don't live in Nigeria), or be one of the first to checkout or one of the first to be killed! War is not a tea and biscuit affair and if you have no clue of what war can do, I refer you to the return match between the Russians and the Germans in WW II. Leave your plate of Akpu for once because people like you will disappear faster than air when shaite goes down!
All the things you wrote in the section I highlighted is simply saying one thing: You are telling us that since it is a war, then people can kill whoever they like? Why do non igbos always forget about war crimes whenever the issue of the civil war is being discussed.

Again you are justifying the killings of igbos because a couple of igbo soldiers killed from other tribes? Where is your sense of fairness! Are you also going to justify recent killings in the north, election period killing of corpers? Or do you think they dont have their reasons for going on a killing spree? Common, their candidate was rigged out so it is fair to kill anyone who looks like a kinsman of the winner of the 'rigged' election. Isnt that what you should be telling me too?

I dont know about others but I have read where you posted very bad things about igbos. It is even on this thread that you threatned to curse igbos! Your 'own people'?!! How can a true igbo person curse his own tribe because few igbo people he met on nairaland does not agree with his view point. I know you are brushing it off but that completely made me doubt your igbo claim!
Onye. . .you need quite some catching up to do because you have totally deviated from the conversation and made a conclusion that is neither supported by my history of posts on NL nor the particular ones you highlighted. There is no parallel and don't attempt to draw any of such. I have NEVER justified the killing of anyone but prove me wrong by showing me any of such posts while I will show you several derisive posts from some of the ardent tribalists who are right here on this thread. If you can't then sit down and be quiet.

I know the war issue has a lot of sentiments but for me, I read the history from both sides and the neutral view as most people on NL NEVER even saw the war and got loaded down with mere propaganda which they spew here on NL and expect everyone to fall in line. That simply cannot happen! Again, I am not responsible for anyone's statement during the war because I was not even here then. Did you ever read about US General George S. Patton during World War II? Adekunle comes across quite like that man and it would be a great idea to expand your knowledge. Some people seem to be born to fight for this General was perhaps the most renowned of WW II - feared and respected by the most brutal German nazis - Hitler, Guderian, Rommel, etc. As soon as he took command in North Africa, before even meeting his troops, there was a bombing run strafing where the meeting was being held. While almost everyone ducked, this crazy guy goes out in the frenzy, pulls out his pistol and starts firing at a flying aircraft! Let us understand that war is bad, there's no sweet war where no one dies, and everyone goes to work, comes back to smiling family, sleeps with their wives, and sleep with two eyes closed!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester City Vs Arsenal (1 - 0) On Sunday 18th December 2011 by CyberG: 7:10pm On Dec 18, 2011
Arsharvin for Walcott was a wrong substitution in my opinion. I think Arsharvin should have been sold and should be ASAP.

Ramsey is as useless and I do not see how he adds any threat or dimension to Arsenal`s game except wearing a shirt and making the numbers. Slow reaction, poor shot accuracy, no close ball control, no holding of the ball or dictating play for any period of the match. I don`t think he should be on this team and should be on loan somewhere at the least.

Walcott didn`t play well today but was improving just before he was removed. I think Ox Chamberlain should have been brought on and Ramsey removed.

I think Chamakh has hit a very bad form and has not been lively unlike when he just arrived. It would be a better idea to just let him go to Bordeaux and he can buy better players.

Looking at City`s team they had better quality players in more position than Arsenal which was quite telling on the game but a draw would have been a fair result.

More importantly, this big tummy referee was biased and made very poor calls. Clear hand ball in the 18 yards box was ignored, the offside call again Richards ignored, some fouls also ignored.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Manchester City Vs Arsenal (1 - 0) On Sunday 18th December 2011 by CyberG: 6:06pm On Dec 18, 2011
Walcott has lost possession about 3 times or so now putting Arsenal under pressure!

Ramsey is NEVER a great midfileder in my opinion and has a very poor reaction time and poor shot accuracy too! That chance should have been a one touch shot before he was tackled by Toure!

Wilshere seems a more intelligent player than Ramsey and actually can hold the ball with some decent close control. Ox-Chamberlain might be a good player in this kind of game as he seems to be able to create his own penetration moves.

1. How much stolen money and corruption deals has accrued to Jona, his wife and his allies so far or would we have to wait until after his tenure to begin to ask questions?

2. Will Jonathan actually do something about Nigeria's real and pressing problems or he is just waiting for his 4 years to be over so he can leave the problems to the next Nigerian leadership?

3. Will he change at the last minute and re-contest as president and stretch Nigeria to breaking point with the tensions that decision plus his abysmally poor record of performance and ZERO net motion?

What do articulate and savvy NLanders think?

Onlytruth:
You Nigerians have a big problem with honesty. That sickness has polluted everyone and everything in Nigeria.
You conveniently turned a blind eye to my own argument, challenging his theory of secession = declaration of war.
He conveniently listed only the countries that experienced breakup through war or conflict; what about other countries that broke up peacefully, like the old Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia? I decided not to list the countries that divided peacefully because it would not stop your friend continuing with his main mission, which is to insult, curse and mock Ojukwu even before his burial. He also wanted Ojukwu to die in the war, forgetting that if Ojukwu died in that war, peace would have been impossible, whether Igbos were defeated or not! undecided

I challenge you to show me any other Easterner here (never mind Igbo even) that harbors that level of hatred for Ojukwu. The only people I know here with such hatred are Northerners and Yoruba people.
FACT. cool

Your dishonesty (like Nigeria itself) is why nothing works in Nigeria. You pretend as if you are detribalised, but are far worse than those who speak out their true feelings. You pretend as if tribe is not a factor in the civil war, but even your fellow Yoruba commander Adekunle boasted that when he got to "Ibo heartland, we shoot at things that don't move".

About Igbos that you see on daily basis, they are also like the Yoruba that I see on daily basis too! Nobody would say his true feelings to your face. That is the only thing unique about this forum -it gives some anonymity to commentators, thereby allowing them to say their minds freely. So, don't come here preaching to the choir; we know the truth!

If this topic wasn't about the man who would go down in history as the FIRST man in Nigeria to lead a war of secession which was launched to save his people from mass murder, then tribe would not be a factor at all.

The underlying issue of this topic is tribe, that is why some "fellow Nigerians" have been itching for almost 30 years to change the name of "University of Nigeria" to something else. Obviously Igboland ,to such people, is undeserving of a school by such name.
Please take your "righteous anger" elsewhere! undecided undecided
^^ You are the one LYING almost 100% of time whenever it supports your tribal arguments and prejudices. If not, prove me wrong by going through my posts. In the meantime, I will keep this short by highlighting some of your lies in this post:

1. The Soviet Union collapsed largely as a result of communism, economic problems. corruption, etc not because of secession of any part of it. (See http://sfr-21.org/collapse.html, http://marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2007/06/why_did_the_sov.html, too many to posts so Google)

2. Slovakia was able to secede not because Czechoslovakia liked it or just agreed. It is on record that Czech leadership actually resisted but they did not have the military or police support and resources to keep the country together. Again, read some real books or Google, educate yourself and stop peddling propaganda that you hatched only to support a tribal argument.

3. What is the point? You can not draw a parallel between these scenarios with that of Nigeria. Again, learn the facts because you were NEVER there to start with.

4. Show me ONE, just ONE insult I made to Ojukwu or tribes here or elsewhere and I will show your abuse and gloating over others only on your tribal and bigoted stance.

5. I am not responsible for Adekunle's comment and that does not factor into this conversation. However, for the people unfamiliar with the real stories, this comments was made in the heat of battle. Two sides were warring and having seen his soldiers killed, the march on the Midwest enroute to Lagos, and more, do you want him to sing a lullaby? Do you know that while it may be fair to kill someone in the war, the representatives of Biafra at one of the peace meetings held outside Nigeria actually abducted a certain "Banjo" (See Brothers War, De Joerre as I don't want to rehash the whole story) who represented the other side of the conflict, apparently got information out of him and killed him? I don't see people shouting about it but was that fair?

6. Finally, I see your passion for Ojukwu but it does not mean that you can force anyone to have similar passions or belief - be it that they are Igbo or not but you can't come to terms with this otherwise your complaints will be much less. Now, if this makes you mad, does it make you mad that Ifeajunna in the company of his fellow Ibo soldier killed Maimalari in a most treacherous and callous manner? Ha, that is like music to your ears! How about the Sadaunna, Tafawa Balewa, Eboh, etc. That must be good news but remember they were also leaders to some people too and while OnlyLIES would gladly spare people from his own tribe others were fair game? Did you read a story where after Biafran fighters killed Nigerian soldiers, they stripped them Unclad and was actually going to cut off the dead man's balls because it was big until he was stopped? Read history and stop pretending like you know some truth that is so hidden from everyone else.

7. At the end of the day, all the rantings on NL about renaming the university is of no consequence to what your government in Nigeria will do. I do not care either because I have attended some really prestigious schools for which my last headache is if the name would be changed or not. It doesn't add or remove a single dollar from my pocket either and I am totally dispassionate about the whole issue. For you, you are entirely biased but still find yourself coming short all the time and grappling for straws in your many tribally-tainted arguments.

Why does Okija present facts to your challenge and all you do is insist he is not from Igbo? Next, you start an abuse and he responds in kind, yet the only argument you have is that he is not Igbo? I have many friends in real life and none of them is anything like the Igbos on NL.

I know most of you are little kids who only heard a little story about the war and cannot think, read or understand the history of Nigeria. It has been established that virtually no NL saw the war (except liars as the poll was taken after over a couple of hundred views). In essence, read and understand the history of the war from a neutral perspective to understand what really happened. It is because most of you have no clue that you seem to be doing exactly most of the things that caused the pogrom and war some which include: empty boasting, arrogance, know it all, inferiority-superiority complex, dishonesty, tribalism, ethnocentrism, etc, etc.

@Topic, Ojukwu is respected by his folks and should be immortalized as they wish. It is not on record that he did anything to unify Nigerians but fought for his tribe and so it makes sense for him to be immortalized within his sphere of influence which is in the SE. They can name the university after him if the alumni and current students have a consensus on doing so. Or, modify the name as it is and slot his name somewhere there in some creative way: Ojukwu University of Nigeria, (OUN) University of Ojukwu-Nigeria, (UON) Nsukka, etc or whatever they decide. Or, they can build him a statue or road, etc. One thing though is naming that university after him may create problems for the graduates in getting jobs if the interviewer is another tribalist like most of you on NL.

Good talk! Unfortunately, your president is too STOOPID and all you need do is look at his face to know he is a dumboe! Yar'adua was go slow, this one is a dead stand still sharing cassava bread at FEC while Boko Haram is deploying its bombs. It is quite plausible that as Ironsi in 1966 due to his actions and inactions helped to bring death to several thousands, this Odeshukwu president will do the same. He is so inept that shouting from now till tomorrow might do nothing until someone feeds him the bullet. Instead of providing leadership, he is tied to the apron strings of Okonjo and foreign influences to removed fuel subsidy, grow corruption to a fatter cow, bring back toll gates, refuse to get the refineries working at full capacity rather than refining crude in Ivory Coast (a stone throw away from Naija), cower down in Aso Rock like on Independence Day in utter fear of BH. . .and the list is inexhaustible. So bleeping what if Emeagwali is a fake,  when did Nigeria start rewarding good and punishing bad?  Afterall people like OBJ, IBB, Odili are walking about freely in Nigeria with people heaping praises on them.  Whether Emeagwali is fake or for real that will not stop you people from eating Yoruba.
So, in your value system, fraud and fakery is legit, okay and a non-issue? I bet you never lived in any other environment except that of Nigeria which breeds roguery, cheats and fraudsters. What is on debate here started far away in an environment different from what obtains in Nigeria. OBJ, IBB, etc never made fraudulent claims like that which has been challenged for Emeagwali, even by folks of his tribe.

By your last comment, you show what your real problem is: ethnic bigotry and tribalism. That does not change that fraud has been committed. I see most tribalists like to use "Yoruba" which is funny because I lived in the eastern part of Nigeria like a lot of other places in Nigeria. The eastern part of Nigeria was one of the places that grew oil palms from which the "ofe" comes from and other progressive countries make a killing in forex exporting the "ofe" you think you are denigrating - BS. So, do you know that your fathers and grandfathers beat their chest growing and selling "ofe", like the groundnuts from the north and cocoa from the west, yet you denigrate the work of your fathers? One more thing, while you think this passes as a slur, how about when someone calls you "ajokutamamumi", which is more of a slur? Yet I don't see people call you that here. In essence, I advise you to forsake your tribalism. It killed many people from before and after Nigerian independence and it makes no sense if you are next to be beheaded - because of tribalism. But hey, it's your choice grin grin
