luluosas: But can you confidently tell mtn people about your usage of vpn services on their bis to make it work on non-BB devices? I don't want to sound holier than thou, but personally I love doing things I am proud of and can confidently tell anyone. That's just me o. Everyone is a free moral agent. |

Mr_Anony: ^^^^ @artful dodger / master twister Don't twist the scriptures to make it sound more humane. The passage was clearly talking about dedicating one's slave to yahweh, like they are properties or animals. You should be disgusted at what your scriptures permit and if you don't like someone pointing it out, that's your problem, not mine. Deal with it. I am disgusted at your dishonest cherry picking. You are not even half the smart guy I make you out to be. 1 Like |

luluosas: It's droidvpn on mtn bis. You pay for the vpn services as well as bis. Totalling more than N2000 monthly. Besides, it's a cheat and it's illegal. I won't advise you to do it, if you value integrity. |

luluosas: Still, this doesnt stop telecoms agents from joining the group and getting access. The best thing is to make the group a legit telecom customers union facebook group where we voice our displeasure with Nigerian telecoms operations. Not a a secret group to discuss illegal cheats and tweaks. I never support any illegal acts in any format. I only used Glo bis on my android smartphone because I thought Glo permitted it on non-BB devices. But seriously telecoms companies should increase their data cap for non-BB devices. I still move the motion to make it an open LEGIT GROUP for customers of Nigerian telecoms service providers to voice their grievances (or satisfaction) with the services they render to Nigerians. . 2 Likes |

luluosas: Good morning every one. Plaease, if you were a benefactor of the just blocked blackberry.net APN by Glo and you feel so embarassed by this ugly development, especially as you have lost your hard earn resources to Glo for subscribing to a data plan you were never allow to use, then, come to facebook and request a membership for the group ( TELECOMS CUSTOMERS' UNION OF NIGERIA (TelCUN) ). While I love this idea and I fully support it. There are two suggestions though. 1. Why do you make it a closed group. I thought the idea is to have as many members as possible. You should have created it as an open group NOT a closed group. 2. You should encourage every member to share the page on their wall, thereby reaching as many as possible. Thanks. By the way, I have sent my request to join the group, waiting for the admin to approve my membership. |

musKeeto:What baffles me is that: didn't the omnisicent Yahweh know already that those guys will fail the test? He knew but he went ahead to test them anyway and when they failed, he condemned all their unborn generations to eternal torture in hell that he had created, only those few among them who become Christians will be spared from hell. How anybody can make sense of this GRAND NONSENSE is truly beyond me. Oh wait, they will say that preaching of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing and also that god frustrates the intelligence of the wise. This yahweh is one hell of a god. 1 Like |

Mr_Anony: Okay, A prison is clearly different from a torture chamber and you know this. The purpose of prison is to punish offenders and probably rehabilitate them. A sick freako who built a torture chamber to torture humans ETERNALLY simply for not being a Christian is definitely worse than Hitler. My bad. Hitler is a real human being while the character of Jesus is just a legend built around a dead jew. 1 Like |

Logicboy03: Permit me to further shed light on this omniscient /omnipotent dichotomy God is said to have the attributes of being both all-powerful and all-knowing. He is also said to be a person. If you assume that God is a person then I assume that He has free will. (Note that I'm referring to His free will and NOT man's free will) But for one to have free will there must be 5 conditions present and maybe more: 1. You have to have a desire. You have to need or want something. 2. You have to have more than one option available to you. 3. You have to have a rational basis for making the choice, not just choosing wily nily. 4. You have to have the freedom to make the choice between available options. 5. Most important of all of these- you cannot know the future. I'll explain. If God is all-knowing then he knows the past, present, and future. He knows if He's going to heal that praying sick child or not. He knows right now that tomorrow at noon he will choose coffee over tea. If this is so then when tomorrow noon comes around He's stuck! He must choose the coffee because he knew in advance that He would. This means that the set of future actions and decisions by God is fixed. Suppose He were to go ahead and change the future because He is all-powerful- then His foreknowledge right now was wrong, wasn't it? So God can't be both all- powerful AND all-knowing; those are mutually exclusive terms. If He knows everything He will do in the future then he doesn't have free will. In this scenario God is more like a robot or computer program mindlessly executing code than a person. If He doesn't have free will then he is not a person. If He's not a person then He doesn't exist because your definition of God requires personality. |

Solozzo: Perfect!! But if you are waiting for religious people to grasp this truth and appreciate what you just said, you may wait till the end of time. People are not reasoned into religion and superstitious beliefs, they are indoctrinated into it from childhood. It will therefore be a miracle to reason them out of it. 1 Like |
Politics / New Militant Group Ansaru: We Kidnapped 7 Foreigners by cyrexx: 5:41am On Feb 19, 2013 |
Islamist group Ansaru claimed responsibility for the abduction, saying it has custody of the Briton, the Italian, the Greek and four Lebanese kidnapped at gunpoint from their workplace in Jama’are, Bauchi State. President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday ordered security agents to rescue the seven foreigners abducted by gunmen in Bauchi State on Saturday, last week. A Nigerian security guard – Mr. John Amalu – was killed by the gunmen. All the kidnapped victims are employees of construction firm SETRACO, working on the Bauchi State segment of the Kano- Maiduguri Expressway. In a statement by his spokesman Dr. Reuben Abati, the President commiserated with the family of the guard who was reportedly killed and assured “the kidnapped foreign workers as well as the governments of their countries that the Federal Government and its security agencies are doing everything possible to find their abductors and ensure the safe release of all those they abducted”. “The President condemns the kidnapping of the workers and reaffirms the Federal Government’s total commitment to stamping out all forms of terrorism and criminal abduction in the country. “He urges all Nigerians and foreigners in the country to continue to go about their normal business in the full assurance that the government and national security agencies are working tirelessly to curb threats to security in all parts of the country,” Abati said. The police in Bauchi said they had intensified a manhunt for the militants. Bauchi State Police Commissioner Mohammed Ladan said “as soon as security agencies conclude their investigation, we will let the world know”. “There is no contact with the abductors yet but the search continues.” Already, all the expatriates working with the firm have been evacuated and work on the road suspended. A note allegedly written and posted on Twitter by one Abu Usamatal Ansary yesterday said: “Based on the transgression and atrocities done to the religion of Allah SWT by European countries in many places such as Afghanistan and Mali etc. By Allah’s grace Jama’atu Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladissudan has the custody of seven persons, which include Lebanese and their European counterparts working with Setraco in Nigeria on 8th of Rabiul Thani,1434 equivalent to 7 February 2013’’. The statement added: “It is stressed that any attempt or act contrary to our condition by the European Nations or by the Nigeria Government will lead to the happenings as it was in the previous attempt.’’ The statement was not signed, but the name of Abu Usamatal Ansary was at the bottom as the writer. The abductors allegedly used explosives to blast their way into a housing compound in a hail of gunfire. It was the worst case of foreigners being kidnapped since an insurgency by Islamist militants intensified two years ago. “By Allah’s grace (we) have the custody of seven persons, which include Lebanese and their European counterparts working with Setraco,” read the statement from Ansaru, a group that has kidnapped other foreigners in Nigeria in the past. The kidnapping was “based on the transgression and atrocities done to the religion of Allah by the European countries in many places such as Afghanistan and Mali”, the statement added. In the Jama’are housing compound walls were strewn with bullet holes and empty cartridges lay on the floor as police searched the deserted Setraco site on Monday, witnesses said. The remaining foreign workers abandoned their homes and fled to safer areas in Nigeria. Islamist fighters first attacked a police station and a prison, burning vehicles to immobilise security officials, before striking the compound in a coordinated attack, the Setraco compound security manager said. “Some of them attacked the camp from the north side, while others from the south. They blew holes in the security gates using explosives,” Musa Alhamdu told Reuters. “There was pandemonium after the gunmen opened fire on the four policemen attached to the camp, the policemen ran away as they were overpowered,” Alhamdu added. http://thenationonlineng.net/new/news/new-militant-group-ansaru-we-kidnapped-7-foreigners/ |

This is one of the paradigm shift i experienced on my transition from chritianity to atheism. I remember as a Christian how I firmly believe we are in the end times. Any major news story is a a sign of the end times. Eg -Iran is developing nuclear weapons - this means that the end is near and Jesus is coming soon. -Britons legalising gay marriage. - A madman shooting students in their school - Obama 's medicare programme. - a pastor sleeping with an under-aged female child. - earthquake in Japan. Etc etc etc All these are indication that rapture will soon happen (whatever the hell that means) and their imaginary hero will suddenly appear in the sky and whisk them away in a twinkling of an eye, sparing them the total destruction he will later send down to the earth. I can't help but laugh when I remember that I used to think like this. Plaetton has correctly labelled religion, especially the pentecostal form of Christianity as a mild form of mental illness. He is right. No wonder religious people don't bother with the earth's environmental preservation. Why would they when their mind has been configured to firmly believe in the destruction the earth. |

uchay01: Hey again, this is directed to all atheists here: do u guys have like a forum or group on here, were WE can share our thoughts, not to change the minds of people who think differently, but to show the ones who think like US dat they r not alone? I'd love to be involved wit such group. And frankly, there's no winning wit deez ReliTards.....I mean...can u see how lame & backwards some of deez comments are? Pls, buzz me of any groups jor! In your Facebook search engine, just type "Nigerian Atheists". You will see a group with the name. I joined the Facebook group mid last year and I absolutely love what I saw. I have been able to make some friends with fellow atheists. I even met some of them face to face recently. It's a closed group, so no worries if you still want to keep your beliefs from your Facebook friends. But as for me, I have changed my Facebook religious status to secular humanist. I lost some friends and I gained some more friends. Cheers, bro |

Ifeness, you just became my favourite nairalander today. Well done. You did a good job schooling these ignorant and bigoted christians, who actually prefer their superstitious religious myths rather than opening their minds to realities outside their religious bubble. Some of them haven't even read their entire Bible for themselves. Many people on nairaland already know that davidylan is a fake scientist (he denies the established scientific facts), as well as he is a fake-a$$ foul-mouthed Christian. He thinks the more he attacks and denies established scientific facts, the more he validates his superstitious religious beliefs. To address the topic of the thread, the fact that some atheists keep their beliefs to themselves is not necessarily a cowardice. When you are living among religious psychopaths, the best course of action is be wise about disclosing your personal beliefs. Survival matters more than anything else. Religious people somehow believe that the more they attack non-believers, the more they are pleasing their imaginary god. Even christians in my country discriminate and psychologically attack anyone outside their belief system. 8 Likes |
