Computers / Re: Best Tablet To Use With Nigerian Telecoms (MTN, Glo)? by cyrexx: 11:11am On Feb 25, 2013
Lexusgs430: A blackberry playbook in conjunction with a 3G enabled blackberry phone + BIS. One of the best investment you will make this year.
Its the best combination, in Nigeria's present telecom setup.

Good Sir, permit me to disagree with you

1. Playbook os (QNX) falls far behind ios and android os in terms of number of available useful applications and games. And many of them are free.
2. You can use airtel Bis on Android devices. I learnt you can also use mtn bis unlimited on Android devices too, though I've not tried it.
3. With rooted android, you have greater control over your device than you can have on any other platform. You can tweak your device to exactly your taste.
4. You don't need an extra phone (BB) to tether with android tablet to enjoy Internet on it unlike playbook tablet

This coming from someone who has used both playbook and nexus 7.

Cheers.

Logicboy03: What about the windows 8 tablet?

I have no experience with Windows 8,
I use nexus 7 with airtel network and it works perfectly for me. I live in Oyo State.

Any tablets of your choice will work fine with any Nigerian telecommunications network as long as your location is very well covered. What you should do is find out which network works best in the location you plan to stay in Nigeria.

By the way, your statement "I can be sympathetic towards android...." is so condescending to android users, whom I am proudly part of. I will always pick nexus 7 tablet and kindle tablet over any ipad anytime anyday

luluosas:
Can you imagine? It takes ages for pages to load up on my laptop, in fact, the service is worse on my Galaxy Y Pro duos. Airtel is a big disgrace for claiming to have covered the whole Nigeria with 3.5G network and yet, their internet service is very terrible. What a mess and a waste of resources to subscribe to their network! Anyway, na Glo I blame for this matter.

Haba,

But you should give them some credit naa , @least their internet connection is very superb in many other states in Nigeria, especially here in Ibadan, Oyo State. I enjoy it pass Glo connection here.

Don't also forget they are currently the most generous with mb per naira ratio among all the Nigerian telecoms companies.

So don't crucify them, give them some credit they deserve. Maybe they are listening and will improve the Internet connectivity in Yola too.

Even the Glo you are praising here has serious issues in other locations too.

Good, then by your own admission, you would immediately fall into the category of those "talking on God's behalf" Who you would have preferred to be silenced forever. Why the double standard?

No, it's not double standard.

Announcement IS NOT the same as preaching "if you don't believe, you burn"

No, because I happen to know God to be true. It is as firm a conviction as I know that I am a Nigerian man.

So you believe what you believe and nothing can change your beliefs. Not even any evidence.

How convenient.

Mr_Anony2:

by the way, just a minor question; If God spoke to you, will you tell other people about it?

Yes. I may even announce it on Nairaland.

I was raised to believe yahweh is the creator God but eventually, it was his silence and indifference to human suffering, plus his vindictive eternal torture of those who disbelieved him; that led me to start questioning my religious faith in the first instance.

If I realised that I am wrong, I will change.

The question is, Anony, do you believe you may be wrong about your idea of God and Christianity?

Well, perhaps you should ask your friend about the voice he heard.

What he heard is his own experience, not mine.

Mr_Anony2:
And who says God is silent these days? God still speaks to people all the time. The question is are we listening?

Here is an example from your friend muskeeto hearing a voice speaking to him:

https://www.nairaland.com/1156627/atheists-please-tell-us-conversion/1#13766379

Perhaps it is God or perhaps it is not God. Question is if you heard a voice from apparently nowhere telling you to repent, will you accept it as God or will you seek every excuse possible to explain it away?

Hmmmm,

If I hear God speaking to me, and it is God really, not some mythical figures that Christianity or Islam or any other religion is telling us about, it will be foolish and dishonest of me to deny Him and try to explain him away.

I have said it here a million times :

LET GOD HIMSELF SPEAK TO US FOR ONCE, IN AN UNMISTAKEABLE CLEAR MANNER THUS DISPELLING ALL REASONABLE DOUBTS ABOUT HIM; AND LET ALL HUMANS SPEAKING FOR HIM FOREVER REMAIN SILENT. OTHERWISE, GOD IS NOTHING MORE THAN HUMAN INVENTION, AND SUCH HUMAN INVENTION NEEDS THOSE SAME HUMANS TO PERPETUATE HIS EXISTENCE IN HUMAN MINDS.

Is that too much to ask?

Lol, so God should get a handle and come on Nairaland for ooman to believe?? Lolololol, Nothing wey I no go see for this Nairaland!

If yahweh can talk to ancient men and prophets, why all of a sudden he is silent in these days of advanced communication technologies.

It seems as if the more technology and knowledge increases among mankind, the more silent this god is.

Hmmm, interesting,

"God pitched a TENT for the sun"

"He makes the sun RISES and make circuit ROUND the earth"

"voices go out to the ENDS of the earth "

And these are the imaginations and the words of a biblical prophet known as David who obviously knows a lot about our universe cos he was inspired by the so-called creator of the universe .

This is really interesting. Thanks for sharing.

So please tell me again how the Iron Age Mysticism in your Holy Book tells us everything we need to know. I 'll be over here watching as science reveals much more than your prophets could have imagined

If you can watch this movie "Pirates of the Silicon Valley" you will get more insight on Bill Gates story and windows and Steve Jobs and apple. It's their biography made into a movie.

That was the first time I realised that bill Gates bought the os from someone else, repackaged it and negotiated it profitably with IBM.

Bros,

Why not simply get a good android phone. Blackberries and windows phones (nokia lumia) don't support tethering (hot spot data sharing with PC) But all android devices do.

And what's more; you can get android devices that are way cheaper than windows phone or blackberry.

Just an advice.

Are you suffering from comprehension disabilities?

You have never for once in your life lived as an atheist, you asked for proofs of discrimination against atheists, it was given to you from three different sources with varying perspectives on the same issue. (I personally have a boss who hates to work with non-christians, Muslims, pagans, atheists alike)

You are now here dismissing all the three instances given to you as no proof.

Is it that you can't read comprehensively or or that one of the main requirements for being a good Christian is turning a blind eye to glaring evidences staring you in the face?

Why are you surprised

You forgot that they worship a deity that tortures humans in unending excruciating pain.
Whatever they do to atheists and non-believers pales in comparison to the imaginary deity they worship.

I used to believe that Muslims are the only religious psycopaths, but now I know that some Christians are among the most sophisticated religious psycopaths .
