Omenkalives, face your useles Benue and leave people alone. Afonja ass licker. What a wicked world you must exist in. So hateful and always angry. So bitter to the soul. Funny enough, your hatred of Igbos has never hindered their success or growth. Igbos are still waxing strong daily and making big moves under this useless government of a useless Vulture called Buhari. Call us drug pushers, baby factory products, Fan yogo sellers... It doesnt negate the fact that Benue people are being turned to fish roll and barbecue everyday by he Hausa Fulani. It doesn't negate the fact that the afonjas you ass lick everyday will never win the igbos in any type of war at all be it economic or spiritual. Go to Sahara repoters page and see Yorubas already hating on Buhari and crying of Hunger. The only thing Igbos complain about is the need for their own county. Come rain come shine, the Buhari you ass lick will nver send your sorry ass. Your children will never become elites because you are not an elite.
This government you always support will end one day and what remains of your family? Never to be remembered again in this generation because their father did not make the needed moves to help them succeed. Rather he was always on Nairaland hating on the best tribe on earth.... The Igbos. |

Lols. Wayo people everywhere. Naso i missed one call one day. As an applicant, i dey try return my missed calls. Naso i come return the call, the next thing i heard was welcome to world financial group ....... i dialled the extension she left for me, luckily she was not on seat to pick. As soon as i dropped the line i went to google world financial group and what i saw was so disappointing. i had placed them higher than IFG. for my mind i was like World financial group should be a more credible company than International financial group. When i saw they were into MLM, I just weak and prayed they never called me back. To think of the fact that she said she saw my resume online and was impressed. i was feeling like i don land world bank kinda job. Another string of numbers keep caling my line. if i block dem go use another number next to the previous one to call me. naso i dey impromptu interview with one company and that wayo number called me. The interviewer quickly told me to off my phone. when i checked, i saw it was that series calling me. please who knows how to permanently block those numbers make dem no go pour sandsand for my garri. DatechMan: Wetin person eye no go see. Na so I take enter one chance.
I was coming from work on Friday, when I met this Indian guy at the bus station. We got talking and some brief introduction about what we do for a living and all. He asked for my number, saying he may be able to connect me with his boss who seem to be looking for Electrical Engineers. We exchanged numbers actually. He said he would get back to me over the weekend.
I was a bit delighted, and was thinking maybe my miracle don dey load. . Na so I holla am for Saturday evening. He called me back and said he spoke with his boss and he said he would need to know me first before anything can be done. Therefore, I should meet with him(the Indian guy) tomorrow(Sunday) at 7pm as that is the only free time in his schedule. Lol.
To cut the long story short, na so I go meet this guy for one McDonalds on McLaughlin. To my greatest dismay, the guy begin yarn opata about building Pipeline. Pipeline? In short he was introducing a form of MLM or some Investment scheme.
I dey look the guy head like say make I cut am. This guy chose the wrong client. If na for Lagos, I know wetin I suppose do you. I just sitdown listen well as he dey quote Robert Kiyosaki et al. After the whole drama, I was even expecting him to buy me a snack or something. The guy dey ask stupid questions. He was surprised to hear I pay $550 as rent and he thought my shoes are very nice. Poor Indian guy.
I guess my miracle never load finish. |

you need counselling. blackprowler: for the most part Nigerian girls are fools. If a Nigerian girl gives you all her contacts and audience, it means she wants you to go "all the way". If you take her details and relate with her and don't ask to date or "do" her, she will hate you.
Nigerian girls don't deserve to be taken as wife cos they've created so much undue pain in relationship with men. (of course that Isn't shared by the 0.1% of men that 80% of them throw themselves unashamedly on. sadly they can only marry 0.1% of the female population and they usually go for those with pedigree and value, after exhausting themselves with overdose from those 80%) |

See me wey them reject for Nigeria, roaming about without job for the past 20months, only to enter Canada and made management in the biggest brewing company in the world in less than 3months, and you say it's not God.
Forget that Alberta effect thing for once and see the peculiarity of my case. Am I the only immigrant that landed Alberta in the past 6months? I'm I the only one who attended job seminars? What are the odds of something like this happening? Heck, even the people where I work keep telling me they haven't witnessed such a thing. That I just broke a record! Who I sabi for Canada. I've never even been to Cotonou before I took the leap of faith to come here.
I'm not saying that I'm special in any way to others but when I attribute my success to God I know what I'm saying. If I don't speak the truth and take God's glory for myself then I'm not worthy of any of his favours. That's why I'm encouraging others to believe.
Work as though it all depends on your work, and pray as though it all depends on God. We will all have and share our testimonies God at work. Congratulations freeradical. |

vascey: Happy New year Czar. Please how far with your CPA conversion? Have you finally been inducted? I decided to do mine while still in Naija and it's not been easy. Sent my cheque for the tax and law course since 4 weeks but no feedback yet from Lillian. Hope you have gotten a better job. This year abundance will multiply in your domot. Keep on keeping on. I was in their office at Toronto in December and was told they have a lot of requests. That i will hear from them in January. My cheque that was sent from US took them 3 weeks to be acknowledged. I think its the traffic. Do you have a tracking number for your cheque? I also think they aint organised. They are supposed to give applicants numbers to quote on their documents so that they can match the documents like WES does. At some point they told me they hadn't received some documents i sent to them. I had to provide evidence before they could acknowledge receipt. My dear i am still hopeful. I know it will happen soon though. Amen to your prayers. |

Ballerz: I woke up one day in October 2017, and saw this pop up that I was being suspended till Dec 31. I did not know what it meant until I tried to respond to a query. Reached out to Osewa and team and there was no response. And since I was not being paid for providing content on the blog, I told myself I would use those minutes for other productive matters.
Those who reached out to me, I still provided the help I could. And guess what….? I have met quite a number of people from NL in person. Met this Nigerian Guy at Acces, we exchanged numbers. It was just last week he said “I think we have communicated before, I sent you a Whatsapp Chat and you responded” I said I am not sure. He said he will look for the chat, and boooom na true o. Cool guy. Make we dey do good. If he was to assassinate me, na easy does it he would have taken me out.
Met Czar two or three times now. I even ate her Ogbono when I visited her in Mississauga. She has a creepy landlady. For the Driving License, my guy is off that project. He doesn’t have direct hold on them again. So what has been happening while I was away… I was going to resume to NL on Jan 1, after ban elapsed. I just told myself, this blog owner is unserious. I am not being paid for it, I am banning myself too.
Czaratwork can disturb! Choi… Since I don’t know why my handle was suspended, the next time they might ban me till 2025. So until I know their reason(s) I dey hiatus. Yes o thanks to nairaland and contact exchange. Na you help me get my first job here. If driver's license matter no make us exchange numbers how i for get your number let alone get the job. My nigeria jollof rice dey wait you for my fridge. Meanwhile i also got other peoples details when i was assisting them with conversion from ACCA to CPA and we still chat up until now. I hope this wont earn me a ban too. We have learnt and will play by the rules going foward. Forgive us our past sins. |

I am surprised to hear this because people converting from ACCA to CPA contacted me and for some, we have gone beyond nairaland. I chat with some on WhatsApp and have been visited by 1. Have i also broken the rule? Infact i begged ballerz to come back on nairaland that people are asking for his assistance. Please educate me on my limits. I no wan red card. |

Someone made the assertion earlier that Canada being a big country, it's better to drive most of the time. Seems you see this differently. Why? I haven't sat down to do that analysis. Toronto is to Canada what Lagos is to Nigeria. I know a lot of accountants working outside Lagos. The same applies to Toronto. primeson1: Thanks for this analysis. Does it mean that as an accountant, one can't get job outside Ontario or it would be nearly impossible. For me I prefer to work as an accountant in a company than working in a firm of Accountants or bank even in Nigeria.
Just want to clear that aspect please. How easy is it to get jobs in a company outside Ontario - the financial hub.
I would research on this Mississauga and other suburbs. |

The way to make it easier for yourself is to make sure you dont drive. join the train/bus. The public transport system is so good that you dont need to drive. I loved that bolded part. Let me start my search on Mississauga and those other cities near Toronto. Hopefully that daily commute doesn't become a serious burden, if you're spending 3 hours in transit to and fro work, it may not be worth it in the end. |

solomonsny: Thank you for the reply. From the little research ive done, most of the analytics jobs are in Ontario which according to our elders has the highest cost of living and is not the best place to start from for new immigrants. How would you go about that such a situation?
In other news, was reading somewhere and saw this.... The summer of 2020 will see the unemployment rate in Canada drop to nearly zero percent as young workers entering the workforce fail to keep up with the elderly workers retiring by the thousands. Ontario, for example, will see 190,000 job positions go unfilled. Canada will have as many as 1.8 million jobs without the right quality of people to apply for them by 2030
If it's true then this Express Entry thing is just gonna gather more steam. Hope next year doesn't leave me behind.
. The high end Techy and Finance jobs are in Toronto Ontario and if you want to compete for your space you need to be where it is happening. Good enough there are some relatively cheaper places in Ontario that you can commute daily to and fro Toronto. One of the Directors of one of the big banks i met in downtown Toronto when i went for ACCA members networking commutes daily from Brampton. So if an Oga can do that, whats stopping omoshe like me.(In his case i dont think money is the problem. He is indian and they have this communal life in Brampton that i guess he wants to be around his people). There are other cities like oakville, Mississauga(my wonderful city) etc that are cheaper than Toronto. Though interviews are done these days using skype and telephone, The recruiter is more comfortable interviewing someone he is sure wont have problems commuting to work if eventually picked for the job so they look at your address before shortlisting you and if they desperately need you skills, they need the assurance that you are willing to relocate. I am talking about those residing outside Ontario. Now there is a trade off. Do you want cheap city or career advancement? It's up to you to decide. The good thing is that if you start running low in cash, you can pick up the odd hour survival jobs while you are still scouting for the big job (But dont get lost in that survival job that you forget wetin carry you come Canada). Most of the people i met in that ACCA networking meeting said networking was their deal breaker. One said he went for his other association's meeting and met someone who helped him get his job. The other said he got a foot in the door job and got very friendly with his HR so when there was an opening for an accountant, it was him that was chosen. |

solomonsny: Thank you for this info. As someone who has both accounting experience with ACCA and statistics this is very useful. And considering that accounting is a regulated field yet big data analytics isn't, I think my best bet at getting a job fairly quickly that side would be to go the statistics route. And I suspect the data jobs pay higher than the accounting ones. is that masters a must or you can do without it IT is all about skills. If you can show them you have the skills they need, they will take you. Bit then i have always heard that there is a ceiling over your head if you don't have their masters. Dont know how true that is. I posted a link on ACCA 3day virtual conference here. One of the topics covered there is Analytics. You can listen to it and take it up from there. |
