One thing i can take from my experience is that everybody's story is different.

I couldnt get into the access employment bridging program for financial services on October 30th and was told to wait till January ending. I guess it was my fault because i got there 30 minutes later than it started. No African time here o. Before you start blaming me for going late, i had a last minute disappointment on that day so i just took it that providence played its role.

How do i wait for 3 months before getting into another one? I sha got myself something to keep stop my POF from depreciating.

In order to avoid what happened to me on the day my access employment bridging program was to start i had to map out my bus route a day before my job was to start. That was when i noticed COSTI immigration services dey my doormat self. Na so i go register with them and fashied Access Employment(you can't do both). I have been assigned a Consultant and have signed up for TRIEC mentoring partnership under COSTI.

I am running late for work. Here no be naija and even in naija i have never been late for work.

I will continue my gist some other time. Make i go do my cabbage fufu and eat with my ogbono and onugbu. (weight loss tinz) My work na from 3.30pm till 12 midnight.

Then the question of my nationality, avoiding to answer that would seem dodgy, there was no point stating another place, since they could request for my ID. Conversation ended with me mentioning Nigeria. Lol....I already knew what that meant before they replied me 36hours later that they'll be traveling and I should keep exploring, which I'm doing right now. What was his profession back home? I am still in the process of conversion and was a banker back home.

There are lots of accounting job in Winnipeg where I am, that first job is the hardest. But once you get it it makes everything easier.
I'm going to give you my husband's experience. He got his CPA through MRA, got his first job after 3 months. During this time he attended workshops and stuff. He had 10 years of accounting experience in Nigeria,5 in full cycle accounting. When he got here he was told by his friends to go and hand his suit and tie that in Canada you cannot get an office job. He refused to give up and kept searching. He saw all manner of things. Some recruiter didn't know we have university in Nigeria and are wondering how a Nigerian could have the CPA designation. His first job was Accounts payable. He stayed there for 6 months then applied for an intermediate accounting job. He was successful but they weren't sure so they gave him a term contract. 3 months in they made him permanent. He is now a financial manager in the same company. All within 3 years.

I got Airbnb short stay for one week and before the one week expired i signed up residency contract with the landlady so i didnt need to look for accomodation.
