So it's either one or the other? She can't have both just because she chose to get married?
The level of stupidity it takes to say that a woman has to choose between her brand and her marriage if she chooses to get married.

Did you say that about Adekunle gold? That it is either his brand or his wife?
Look at how patriarchy has fried your brain.

Juliusdaughter:
I met a new guy after my friend's saga. We met late last year and he's made his intentions known. I've not really given him a YES answer but my actions have proved that I'm really interested.
We have had some video calls and we've seen once. The problem I have now is that he doesn't give attention. No calls from him, I'm usually the one to message him first and I've gotten tired of that. I'm fed up of making excuses on his behalf like maybe he's fixed up or smth. Do I have to expressly say YES to his proposal bfr he starts making effort to be in touch? I'm trying hard not to contact him for a while but it's kind of hard cos I really like him.
I'd like to get more inputs from a man's point of view so I'd know how to go about it
Advice pls.
He is trying push and pull tactics on you and you are falling badly for it grin Ignore the man
You got used to his attention, he knows that, so he withdrew it so that you can chase after him and you're falling for it. Don't.
Someone doesn't give you attention while he is asking you out and you're thinking of saying yes so that he will give you attention. How will that work?
This is the stage where he is meant to be running after you and he isn't, and instead of you to delete his number and move on you want to reward him by accepting his proposal.
How do you think he'll treat you when accept his proposal if this how you plan to begin this relationship?
Ignore him, delete the number. If you happen to just run into the guy, just say a very quick hi and walk away or just ignore and walk.
Don't be available for this guy, not at all, never again.

You want input from a man's point of view? How many will tell you the truth? cheesy

Wooow. I'm flabbergasted all of our nl menist and hoe shouters have deserted this thread.
None has called him a gold digger, hoe, farm tool, olosho and all type of derogatory names being allotted to ladies here, even when the op vividly call her his sugar mummy. grin This shows That, these men are only envious of the female folks and lacks the opportunity to turn themselves into feminine gender, if not, they would have been worst or done worst. Look how they are cheering him up. grin grin
Normal.
The Stupid hypocrites only come out of their cages when they see F on a moniker,
When it's their gender. You won't see shiit.
That's why their bitterness is so high.
They wish they could do what they feel the female gender is doing, and since they can't, out of envy they start branding women names meant for them alone.

That's why I consider ladies who follow these men to start shouting hoe, golddigger to their fellow women ( 9 times out of 10 they just do it to win the praise of these clowns) or to preach to ladies act in a certain way when it comes to men and finances (again, 9 out of 10, just to kiss the ass of these men) and shame the ladies who don't live according to their preachings extremely pathetic.

Most part of this write up makes sense.

In my own opinion, the easiest and most effective way to cage oneself is to expect too much respect, love and acceptance from people. When you know that your comments or opinions are subject to debate or even outright rejection, and accept that people are entitled to their own interpretation or perception of your opinions, then no level of compliments can cage you.
That's all.

dprpikin:
This bolded assertion may not altogether be true.

It may also be that the said explorr indulges himself in educative materials or stories because he enjoys them, and may only feel it is worth sharing with others. His bringing the educative stuffs here on Nairaland may have nothing to do with compliments, but a sense of commitment to educate or just a hobby.

It’s emotional blackmail

They are basically saying that If you’re a smart woman, you will let the misogynistic jerks say whatever they want about women.
Exactly, it is also another way to silence any lady who may want to start speaking up against bullshit, so in order to be seen as smart, such a lady may choose not to speak up anymore or not speak up as frequently as she would have.

And it's a way to make excuses for men, I don't care what age the male monickers who make such nasty comments are neither do I care what they have done or have not done with their lives. All that matters is that bashing of women is not accepted on this forum. And any one who does that should be ready for his clap back, either by calling the person out, or reporting the post for banning.

That's all.

even though these comments directly affect how some of the younger readers learn to treat women.
Exactly.

@Deicide, posts like this are common. They make up majority of the posts on this forum. You can decide to respect this. But I won’t.

Sometimes I ignore such posts (wrong thing to do) because we shouldn’t ignore foolishness and let it grow a deep root.
Other times I call the poster a mor0n because that’s what he or she has to be to type something like this. That’s when the ‘good’ people start coming forward to say that I should have ignored and not insulted them. And the MODs who agree with such thinking story dishing out bans.

God forbid a woman refuses to let a slow individual summarize her worth based on the amount of pleasure she can give him.
It really is a wrong thing to do.
Ignoring these comments pass the message that it is acceptable to think that way and say such nonsense.

If everyone ignores it would be a different thing, because when such nairalanders see that such madness is not welcome here they would move,

But in a situation where only the "smart women" undecided ignore the comments and pose no opposition to the extreme stupidity of such comments so that we can be considered as "smart" women,

while the rest of nairaland rewards such comments with likes and mentioñs telling such monikers that they are right to sprout off such misogynistic nonsense. It just sends the message that it is right to say such things, right to think in such a depraved manner, and from there we are only a short walk from bastards thinking it is actually right to act in such a disgusting manner.

Nah, only "smart women" ignoring won't solve this problem, either the whole forum ignores, or we report to the mods and/or show them that their madness won't be given a free reign here.

What other sense should we apply? We are not in any way responsible for the way these immature men insult ladies. So no need for us to try to take on any responsibility for their behavior by saying maybe if we applied this kind of sense or that kind of sense. No.
The only people responsible and at fault for the way these animals describe women are these animals alone. Put the blame on them and them alone.

You're attacking the poor girl and saying she is a disgruntled and trying to spoil his name? undecided
What stupid name? Name the man himself doesn't care about? Why should a man who cares about his name rape a 16 year old?. Is he saying that he didn't see ladies above 18 to have consensual sex with?

Where is your consideration for the life of the 16 year old he is trying to spoil?

Even if you want to call it statutory rape, why didn't you just do so? Instead you tried to attack and shame the little girl. Why?
for your information.
Rape is rape.
She said she was confused. Didn't give consent. And she is right. She can't give consent, that is rape.

Nigeria's laws regarding sex with a child under 18 years are so.... undecided anyways.
According to Nigeria's sexual offences bill 2013
Sex with a child under 18 years of age is liable upon conviction to life imprisonment.
So they have a case..
After all. The man didn't say he didn't know how old she was. He just said she gave consent.
I wonder when under 18 started giving consent.

Rapist men. He left everyone above 18, It's a 16 year old he went looking for.

So he resides with the victims parents. Which would mean he would how old she was.

And he still has the guts to say she gave consent.

when that your husband is no more, what will you do?
The man has provided money for her, and her kids.
Even in the case of death. Such a man has made provisions that his children will be well taken care of.
Furthermore.
The woman can also remarry and become a housewife to another wealthy man who will take care of her and her kids cheesy
Also. She can work. That she is a housewife now does not mean she can never work or that she is incapable of working.

women should have some self respect,
Yep, read this sentence and try to apply it into your life.
To you, because a woman wants to be a housewife she doesn't have self respect?
Why?

the more you depend on the man, the more he sees you as a liability and it breeds domestic violence
Victim blaming. So domestic violence isn't bred by the man being a disgusting piece of shit who thinks it is acceptable to go around hitting people who didn't hit him first. It's the woman's fault for not being independent,
because a woman is not independent we can say that she is inviting herself to become a victim of domestic violence?
Didn't the man know that she will be a housewife before he married her.
Victim blaming and making excuses for domestic violence is wrong. If he doesn't like having a wife who is a housewife he can always divorce her.
but if you are independent, he won't try such shite cause money stops nonsense.
It can but
Read up on domestic violence cases.
No matter how rich a woman can be. If a disgusting man was to hit her he can.
You can't blame a woman for the irrational actions of a man.

You lie, that's not my dream, my dream is to have a career, a good paying job, to be able to afford the luxuries of life without asking a man for 1kobo, if its your dream to be a housewife and be collecting money from your husband to buy even groundnut, its not my dream, even if my husband is a billionaire, I will still work cause I'm a very ambitious human being, I wonder why a sane woman will want to be a housewife in this 21st century, if your husband should die(God forbid) you and your kids end up suffering cause you don't have anything doing. I reject such foolishness in Jesus name, Amen.
Nigerians have this funny mindset that housewives are broke.

I know it seems like the Nigerian definition of housewife (broke, depending on her husband to buy groundnut, cannot survive if the husband dies) is the universal but that isn't how housewives are meant to be. Some housewives have more money than some office workers.
The husband not only gives them money to run the home and take care of the children.
He gives them money to take care of themselves.

So they don't have to ask for money for groundnut because he has provided money for the home. Which is separate from her own spending money.
All these are usually in hundreds of thousands or millions depend on his pocket.

You're not supposed to be a housewife to a broke or stingy man that will have you asking for money for groundnut.
It's spoiling the game.

That is why a sane woman would want to be a housewife even up till the 40th century.
