oyewolejos:This seems the only way out. But be careful who you chose |
This was precisely what I did, way back in 2007 while still living in Nigeria. Was happier for it Good luck to those relying on lottery! |
nice-guy10:The reason is simple. Botswana is a country of less than 2 million people. About 1,990,000 to be exact. This is less than anyy state in Nigeria In contrast, South Africa is 49.3 million people. So it possibly is a question of risk. Should the entire Botswana people chose to immigrate to canada (an extremely unlikely scenario), the impact might not really be much compared to south africa |
You can fly with BA to Barbados. I have seen friends fly BA to US without a UK transit visa. Just do not attempt to come out of the airport. But I do not have direct experience of this. Make further inquiry |
nice-guy10:Nice-guy10, pls I do not make post I have not researched. check http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp Thank you |
@poster Canada is indeed visa free to Botswana nationals |
centsays1:I do not know about angola but if you hold a valid Nigerian passport you do not need a visa to Barbados for short stay |
otawa:Please can somebody stop me from laughing? Pls! |
@poster Lies are not good but in this instance it may help |
legzy100:You should not be overtly worried at this stage. In most cases, situations like this is good news. They wouldnt really have bothered with the WAEC cert if they had decided against issuing the visa But sometimes if the cert appears dodgy, they are known to want to find out if it is fake and attempt to arrest the applicant So if the result is real, then you are likely to make it. Simply keep praying |
Akin, UK:The easiest place to start is your bank. If the Receiver General has cleared the draft you will be informed by the bank. If they have, then no need to worry. If they have not cashed the draft then you need to start finding out why The draft cannot be converted. It is very unlikely someone can open an account in that name to cash the draft |
America, Canada, Australia are opening up their borders to skilled immigrants. You think they are stupid? Right, let the Brits introduce their anti immigration policies and lets see if they are better off for it! |
AjanleKoko:I really do not understand you. Are you saying that the norwagian embassy would flag it when he applies for their visa? wrong! why would they? Once the old one expires he can combine the two. as for the schengen visa as long as his old passport has now expired he can combine the two to get the visa. the fact that the old one was not cancelled at the time of getting the new passport is immaterial. you do necessarily have to cancel. the old one ought to be cancelled automatically by the passport office before they issue a new one. the fact that we lack record in Nigeria cannot be used to assume the expired passport was never cancelled. as long as it is now expired that is all that matters for US visa you do not need to transfer to a new passport. if the visa is in an expired passport and you are also travelling with a new passport you are ok. It is only the British that insist on transfering visa to a valid passport. this they do at a fee |
X-2-X:There is no source. This is what I know to be the practice. Maybe there is a confirmation somewhere. But why don't you call BA. They will confirm what I just said. They will know |
@ poster You really do not have to do anything. You can very easily own two valid passport without cancelling the old one provided you satisfy these two important requirements: a) Your old passport is expiring within 6 months at the time of applying for the new one b) You are not to travel with both while the old one is still valid and not cancelled The fact then is, you can renew your passport without cancelling the old one if you satisfy the points above. If you were a British or an American citizen, once you apply for the new one, the old one is automatically cancelled before the new one is issued even if you did not forward the expiring copy My brother is british and when he did a change of name he applied for a new passport while the old one was still valid. They issued him a new one. A few months later he tried to travel to Germany with the old one but was turned back at Heathrow because he was carrying a cancelled passport You will not have problem with the Norwagian embassy on account of the old passport. How are they to know our system is not automated to cancel old passport when a new one is being issued? As for the British visa on your expired passport you need to tranfer it to your new one. However the Americans accept a visa on an expired passports provided you are also carrying a new and valid passport Good luck |
this is true. just confirmed it |
dayokanu:Its a big surprise you think bayern had an easy game with united. They lost at Old trafford against 10 men and managed an injury time winner in Munich which is why they are playing tonight, not by winning but because they played against 10 men for almost 45 minutes. This is the same thing that Fiorentina is bitter about. They are no match for lyon and is at this stage by the funny away goal rule which about any decent manager is pissed about |
I have met: Sani Abacha @ Mustapha suya spot ABV Goerge W Bush @ Mombasa forest hunting ground Hilary Clinton@ Obalende Round About: she was trying to hop into a Danfo Barack Obama@ A friends birthday party at Ijesha Surulere Tuface Idibia@ the white house Dave Cameron@Zanzibar zoo, jumping up in excitement at a baby elephant Atiku Abubakar with Genevieve@a house in 23 Rd festac, doing what I dont know Ricky Hatton@Accra airport, with his eyes bruised silly from Maywather's rough tactics What of Michael Phelps @ Ojo b/stop, diving out of a lungng okada about to crush his spine And many to numerous to mention! |
thelion1:The wise thing to do now is to first get married. Try and also get evidence that you two have been together for a while now. if you don't have a joint bank account then open one now. gather bills in the address where the two of u reside now; yours and hers and keep them. emails to each other, letter and photos are also important. keep them. especially photos of the two of u together in Korea. Those are what they look for to convince themselves the marriage is not bogus. since she is white, it will be a lot harder. the assumption will be that you may be using her to hop into canada so be prepared with as much of the proof above as possible. Then finally get the marriage done and start the process Spousal visa for genuine applicant is not too hard, what is hard is proving the marriage was not contracted for the visa purpose. the fact she lives with u in far away korea is a bonus |
why cant they treat him in Nigeria? |
@dancewith thanks very sincerely for your advice. They got married after my sister had played the DV(not after she had won),so he became a derivative after the first notification was sent.As regards playing pranks,I do not think he meant that.In fact his old international passport(one he used during his interview) bears DAYO,and not OLUWADAYO.I think he maintained that DAYO because he was aware that the embassy might still have that in its database. Their interview date is around May,and they have done the medicals in the name OLUWADAYO because that is what he has on his E-PASSPORT.I think writing to KCC to update his record might alter their interview date,or what do you feel? From experience I have found out that the US consulate is not happy with any 'sworn affidavit' from Nigerians. It may be well that they get KCC to make a change and get a later date with a shot to success than do the interview in may with a high probability for failure |
What has become of Olusegun Adeniyi, the chief press secretary to Yaradua. He used to be everywhere in the news. Have not heard him recently. Is he indisposed? |
amibo pro: |
ELDERLAGON:I do not understand this. The letter from KCC must have shown the name of the spouse as submitted by the wife at the time of the application. So at what point was this shortened by the husband? If I understand your post clearly, the husband has been refused a DV before so why on earth should he play pranks with his initial? What were his motives?? The wife indeed must have good reasons to be restive because he is clearly going to get them both refused My advice He should immediately write to the Kentucky office with the details of his real name and informing them to update his records as the Dayo is a short form for Adedayo. He should thereafter play by the rules! |
as long as your prints were not taken in all cases before, there is no need to inform them of your previous visit as that will mean certain failure. Be sure to carry the lie thjroughout the application. Like the question: have you ever been granted an UK visa in the last ten years. Do not answer yes if you want to use a new identity |
On paper there is no such thing. but the high commission in lagos is noted for unfairly and negatively profiling such people. my brother was admitted to Yorks University, all fees paid and all rules followed. they still turned him down and as usual no clear reason. He was 23yrs old at the time and I am sure that had a lot to do with it cos my sis that was 19 yrs at the time going for the same school and being sponsored by the same person was approved |
@milky007 since you departed at your own expenses then you are supposed to be banned for 1 year according to the rules. However what you experienced is similar to what a friend experienced who went there to have a baby. at the immigration point she was stopped but claimed she was going for a short stay despite her big tummy. anyway she did give birth there but when she applied a year later they refused her and informed her she is on a 10 years ban for using deception previously so since they claimed you used deception, it is possible you were banned for 10 yrs. then again you might be lucky. why dont you call the embassy just to be double sure? |
@joxiri thats right. once you were born in the island of ireland on or before 31st of Dec 2004, it is irrelevant who your parents are. just like the good ole north america |
@poster According to Irish citizenship law, anyone born 'in the island of ireland (which includes the north and south) on or before 31st Dec 2004, is automatically an Irish citizen'!!!!! So your son is Irish, congrats Now since he is Irish, I am not too sure he is British as both you nor your wife has british legal residence. But being Irish is enough. Just send your child's birth certificate to the Irish embassy Abuja and they will issue the passport. the docs include: the BC, a completed passport applciation form signed by both parents and witnessed by a lawyer, docter, medical doctor or a bank manager. make sure to include the passport photograph. But i am certain. he is irish!!!!! |
Interesting. I will look this up and get back to you |
As a Nigerian your children cannot claim statelessness as they will be Nigerian citizen by descent wherever they are born. The difference is that china does not recognise citizen for those born outside china as they do not recognise dual citizenship. Now consider a chinese visitor in spain that now gives birth there as a tourist. since the father nor the mother has spanish nationality the child will not be spanish at birth. But then china also will not recognise the child as their citizen since it was not born in china! so the child becomes stateless and under the current rule, will become a natural born spanish |
