This means that if you are born in spain and one or both of your parents is spanish or born in spain, then you are spanish by origin If you are born to foreigners in spain who do not hold spanish nationality but are legal resident, then you are spanish provided your parents are not under diplomatic immunity at the time of your birth. If they have immunity at the time of your birth, what this means is that technically you were not born in spain Finally if you are born in spain and you are stateless, then you are spanish by origin. Statelessness means at the time of your birth you cannot claim citizenship from any of your parents country of origin. For example, if you are born to chinese citizens in spain, china would not recognise you as their citizen as you were not born in china. Therefore you are are stateless. This used to be their custom but I understand it is now changed as chinese citizens can now pass on nationality to foreign born children |
Its not true. just made a confirmation call to the Mexican embassy |
@ Tunnytux, is there any special reason why you would wish to settle in Brampton? I lived there for eight months and always get this feeling is a village. too lonely and kind of deserted most times! |
Dont ever go to canadian embassy with a forged bank statement or any embassy for that matter. But canadian embassy almost always confirms bank statement from the issuing bank especially for first time applicants and student applicants Then again is the fact that they will work for you arrest once they detect the statement is a forgery. Be careful |
wrong, as long as his visa is not annotated like coolier said, then he was deemed to have qualified for an NIV visa on current criteteria but not solely based on the conference. Meaning they disregarded the conference and issued him with a visiting visa which he can use at will. What they might do is that they may restrict his visa to B1 only which means nothing as long as he does not go for medical treatment |
@poster (Chaircover) The all knowing approach you are using suggest that you are indeed the real character in the story you are telling. So why are you cheating on your husband with a married man? Just because he is a serial cheater? Remember Tiger Wood's wife had a similar problem. How did she handle her own case? A word is good for the wise!!!! |
Divorce never pays. Not for any reason. stay and fight for your marriage and the kids. Thats the honourable thing to do As for trying to get back at the man, dont be surprised that at 3 kids, you will be lucky if a low life as much as notices you. You will loose both ways! |
I was in Lagos recently and it was incredible. Trust me folks, this man is awesome. I have never seen quite like him before in our government. Congrats |
The Match is actually 7.45pm Nigerian time not 8.45pm as advertised here |
I got a call from Nigeria He never showed up |
@vicjustice I have gone through the link you provided and must say how disappointed I am that you paraded that as a source for the mis-information you are stating. Where in the link was your information remotely mentioned? |
@vcjustice, Your post makes no sence. For starters, How would you tell a naturalised british by his passport? If for instance a passport says 'British Citizen' place of birth Lagos, how would you know he was a naturalised british? and not a British citizen by Descent? I know several British citizens who gave birth in Lagos. Their children becomes British by descent. How would you tell those children apart from Lagos born Nigerian nationals who eventually naturalises as British? Just how would you tell the difference? Your source, even though I didn't bother reading it, is false. Its like saying US naturalised citizens must get a visa before travelling to the UK. This is false as there is no way to tell the difference from a naturalised citizen and a citizen by descent. Place of birth cannot show this As for the finger printing, it was already in use as at 2005. I do not know when they started though |
You slimey, scamming crook!!!! |
I just had a discussion with a guy who works with a bank in Lagos who just came over for a holiday. This guy was denied visa in 2005 when he was sheduled to attend a comference in Florida. It turned out he was being scammed as the Nigerian organiser collected $1,000 from them and of course there was no conference When he went for the interview the embassy found out the conference was bogus and denied the application. Since he was the first applicant, the others didnt bother to attend their interviews. He discarded the passport and got a new E passport His interview was in January 2010 and he was granted a 2 yr multiple visa. No question was asked about the 'fraudulent' application in 2005 nor was he queried about the old passport What does this tell us? |
It is ok to apply under General Visitors. However you need to still mark yes on the question of if you have family and friends in the UK. you must state you do not intend to visit those family and freinds when you get there as if you say you will, you then must use the Family visitors form Use a detailed itineray to show you are going to places like Manchester, Birmigham or Liverpool or even Scotland if your family member lives in London for Instance. You can always use the further information section for this However I do not buy the story your family member is telling you. It makes no sence. He is up for ILR and that does not stop him from inviting family members at this time. But if he is not up to it, then try the option I indicated |
@justwise, Here you have very limited options with a student visa. Your work status is restrictive and unlike the UK there is no post study work permit. In most cases you can adjust your status if for instance you are now married to a legal resident or you win a green card or is sponsored by a relative. But its a lot harder to get a work authorization with a student visa so getting an employer to petition on your behalf is difficult as you can only work in campus But he can return to Nigeria and try various IV categories. But if he chooses to stay he risks deportation |
That is the right way to go. Either you get married to a legal resident or you get out. But you can win a green card lottery, who knows? |
@ibilaye, You are wrong. I know several mexicans that come over regularly to give birth here. While immigration is aware of the purpose, there is currently no law against it especially for someone with the right visa If you have the right visa and can show proof that you can afford it, they will let you in. Just last week someone from Lagos came over and was stopped at JFK 'cos she was heavy. Bye and large she was later let in. If you cant prove that you can afford the bill (By the way the average is $8,500 and can run into $30,000 in some cases) then they will send you back; and of course if you have the wrong visa |
Even though US immigration laws does not allow dual intent I have realised that in reality most consular officers uses discretion in applying this rule. If you are already a citizen this may apply but since you are a green card holder, this does not apply to you and you can simplly invite her to visit send a copy of your green card, your finanacial details and a letter inviting her to stay temporarily. a family picture wont do any harm if she carrys it to the interview. In most cases they are approved |
@ poster This is a tricky issue. if you had your finger prints taken, it becomes a lot harder. However I have seen some folks here, not one or two, who used fraudulent docs in the past, were detected and visa refused They applied sometime later and got approved!!! Some are not so lucky. My take is that the database is not as omnisceince as we assume This is a fact. I am not sure about what goes on inside the embassy but it does happen Goodluck though and may other learn from this and to the poster I will leave you with my Dad's famous saying ' when you loose, don't loose the lesson' |
Another nail in the coffin of our commatose financial sector |
Do not forget your first love is usually those you married or are still with. It does not necessarily mean the first person you dated. You may or may not have loved this person In many cases the first love is the one they married after so many trials. I hope you can now see why they are hard to forget? |
This proposal is crap. Its only supported by such looneys who want to start their own banks or have families itching to do so. It will not last as the so called specialised banks in Nigeria are never specialised afterall. I worked in Liberty merchant bank in the late 90s and it was never any merchant in any way. Just like most 'merchant banks' at the time Only IBTC then could be considered specialised. I was so nuseated with most of the going ons in the merchant banking feild. what about so many commercial banks that were just hanging on. they were so many and lacked direction other than collecting as much deposit as they can sometimes at reckless rates. consolidation was important. infact the 25b capital base is now considered inadequate as far as good banking positioning goes. this is because to drive the economy we need strong banks that can provide the industrial support to various companies to expand. What we need is a good regulatory structure. I am scared stiff of how well we are prepared to regulate the numerous banks that will take back to the field. Be prepared for more heartache |
this is sheer madness. pray, how do you regulate the huge number of players that will parade themselves as banks when this comes on board? this system didnt work in Nigeria before so how come it suddenly can now? a lot of people will start opening family banks that will end up enriching them to the detriment of depositors. lets be careful pls its pretty obvious why he is pushing for this. it wont stand the test ot time. what we need is to strenghten the existing banks and return them to 2006-2008 levels when they provided for much momentum to the economy which sanusi stalled as soon as he came on board and is now looking to pushing us much further back for those arguing in his favour now, just wait and see. i wouldnt want to hear your moans then |
if you have details of your birth i suggest you get a birth certificate. It does not cost much. Go to NPC at the local Govt of your birth and you will get one issued I am not sure any birth is registered even now |
And on what grounds would you be claiming asylum? That your country is at war? If you need to immigrate, look up the legal routes to do so |
@poster you will normally need your birth certificate for that. but you need to first register the birth of your daughter with the British High commission or embassy in the country of your child's birth. You need to do this before applying for her passport |
Thanks Asiwaju pls lets spread the word. Nigerians should pls note this tactics and avoid falling victims and enriching them |
I am not disputing I got it wrong. I used first name as the first name on my passport which is my surname. however the long queue does not suggest everyone in Nigeria knows this. Its to be imagined how much Virgin is making from this on their daily flights from Nigeria |
i dont give a rat ass about terms and conditions. make it clear: surname and other names. thats the terminology used in Nigeria and the US. i am not too familiar with the English system. Considering the long queue, there has to be something wrong with it, Mr Branson apologist! |
I booked virgin atlantic from Lagos to London and was shocked on getting to the airport to be told the name on my booking : Joesph Ighogho is different from the name on my passport Ighogho Joseph and as such, i must pay £30 why must this be the case? on their website the indication is First name and last name. so why didnt they just say surname and other names. i put my first name as Ighogho and last name as Joseph and it came out as Joseph Ighogho after the booking. so why penalise your passengers for this even when i have all evidence it was me that made the payment this is unfair trade practice, illegal and unjust enrichment as the queue to pay the £30 was so long. why do these poeple keep ripping off Nigerians who contribute so much to their bottom line? They do not practise this in the UK nor can they attempt this with their US passengers but Nigerians are fair game. Pls be warned when making a reservation with them. The first name is your Given name and the last name is your Surname. Any mistake and it will be costly. if possible use Arik or BA. They appear to be more humane. As for me that will be the last time I ever use the accursed airline |
Before o say anything, please invite him to this forum to give his own side of the story I know a couple who the wife same running to me with worse complaint as you. right in her presence i shocked her by putting a call to the hubby only for the guy to rant back she was caught shagging with another man. she does not know he knew but thats why he changed so people just dont change overnight. quite often something changed them and its usually within |
