Pataki: Otherwise we would keep having Boko Haram as our brothers and sisters. Do u dunderheads know how to think at all?Dont worry, we will join Retardeen to pray for members of Boko Haram to come out and confess. |
sojjy: Whether Mallam Buhari contest the next presidential election or not, PDP is a gooner already. PDP wl lower their flag in 2015 after the general election where they wl be massively defeated by the opposition. Mark my word. I'm not a prophet but a believer of good governance which the clueless party can't give us. God bless Nigeria.I hope your prophesy comes to pass. Nonetheless, Nigeria is a very complex country. We vote for non-threatening, non-controversial mediocre politicians for the most part. Shagari, Obasanjo, Yaradua, and now Goodluck, were all non-threatening, non-controversial mediocre politicians when they were first elected. On the other hand, PDP may open their eyes, realize that GEJ is damaged goods, and pick David Mark as their candidate. He can claim to be a Northerner and still sweep the entire South because his non threatening English name makes him acceptable. My brother, once again, Nigeria is complex.... We can only hope, pray, and work as hard as we can to ensure that the new opposition succeeds in 2015. |
BeraBera: ACN & CPC leaders are obviously Muslims while PDP is mainly christian-based, as we can all see. If they succeed in merging, then they would be working towards taking over power at the federal level in order to finally Islamise Nigeria. By then, Christians would no longer be free to practice their religion. This post does not sound like something written by an educated person. I am not trying to be rude, I am only being objective. |
kingoflag: I'll choose a man who was WAS IN GOVERNMENT FOR OVER 30YEARS as Governor, Petroleum Minister, and President BUT CAN EXPLAIN THE SOURCE OF HIS MEAGER EARNINGS and is known to battle corruption to the highest extent over one who was a COLLEGE PROFESSOR LESS THAN 12YRS AGO BUT IS NOW A BILLIONAIRE, SO UNFATHOMABLY RICH THAT HE CANT EXPLAIN THE SOURCE OF HIS WEALTH AND WHEN ASKED TO ADHERE (AS ORDERED BY THE CONSTITUTION) TELLS THE ELECTORATE "I DONT GIVE A DAMN".I could not have said it better. However, come 2015, our fellow Nigerians will say "I voted for Jonathan and not PDP." I only hope people realize that they are one and the same. |
Sai Buhari!!!!!!!!!!! |
julimax: Hmmm. Patience dey Bayelsa, Na only Jona and the woman them leave for the room close door?I didnt know that Madame Patience was out of town, but for some reason my mind also went in that same direction. I kind of feel guilty for thinking like that. |
dedeike:Chai dedeike, which laptop number is yours? |
This 30 billion naira story is a very big lie. This is impossible. Nobody will spend that kind of money on a governorship race. 30 billion naira is enough to fund a Presidental campaign. My guestimate is that a well funded governorship candidate should expect to spend anywhere from 750 million naira - 1.5 billion naira depending on the state. 30 billion is an outrageous number. If these people want to lie, they should lie with common sense. |
AjanleKoko: Even if Boko Haram attacked Lagos, I doubt that would effectively guarantee a secession.Unfortunately you are correct. The point I was trying to make is that Boko Haram would have to attack the South on a regular basis. It may not only be Lagos. They may have to conduct rampant attacks in major cities in the South for the point to hit home. I almost feel like many Southerners still see Boko Haram as being very distant because they haven’t come close to home for us. For a tipping point to occur, Southerners need to feel like their safety is at risk. If enough Southerners believe that their safety is at risk, secession will be on the table. Right now we hear of attacks in Yobe and Maiduguri; that is not close to home. Mushin is close to home, Aba is close to home, Warri is close to home. |
mpumalanga: South East is prepared any day to leave nigeria as they fought a brutal war to that effect.I said parts of the SE and not all of it. I assume that not all parts of the SE has oil. Notwithstanding, please do not forget that there are millions of Igbos living outside of the SE who have businesses and investments in other regions. Breaking up Nigeria may not automatically mean that a vibrant new country will be established in the SE. Many of these individuals who live outside the SE will probably prefer to have permanent residency status in Lagos/Kaduna etc. and visit Biafra, their home country, only during the Christmas..... |
Can Nigeria settle its tensions or is a peaceful separation the best way forward?
Nigeria is a very complex country. I do believe that there are so many synergies to be derived from Nigeria as one country. Our population gives us the potential to build an economy that can realistically become one of the largest in the world. However, we need to learn how to cohabitate with one another. There is a large education gap between the North and the South that needs to be closed. In addition we need to stem the spread of radical Islamic extremism (I dont mean to sound like George Bush). Once these two things are settled, all we need are good leaders who can usher in an industrial revolution. Once Nigerians are educated and employed in middle class jobs, the last thing that would be on people's mind is how to hate one another. |
The only thing keeping Nigeria together is the free oil money that most of the states get from the Niger Delta. Do you think that the North, the SW, and parts of the SE would want to give up the free money they get? Your answer is as good as mine. There are very few non-Niger Delta states that can survive without their monthly allocation. We are yet to hit a tipping point my friend. Unfortunately, for most Southern Nigerians, Boko Haram is a distant concept. Until Boko Haram starts attacking Lagos on a consistent basis, secession is off the table. Even for that to happen, they would need to hit the nerve of the Lagos economy e.g. Murtala Mohammed Airport, Third Mainland Bridge, Tincan Island Port etc. Until Southerners in the South believe that Boko Haram has come to their neighborhood, secession remains a bear parlor discussion. |
These 40 laptops are really hyping up this thread. The last time I checked my father still needed 2 generators in his house (an "I better pass my neighbor" and a bigger one that can carry AC). GEJ has made it so difficult for his supporters. He gives them nothing substantial to work with. |
This interview sounds like it was fixed. John Fashanu sounds like he is reciting answers he memorized. I also find it hard to take a person seriously after they call IBB their father. Notwitstanding, he did make some good points. However, he spent a little too much time trying to score political points by dissing El Rufai. |
warrior01: abeg, match am there! Bakare, a prophet? Pls don't let him lie against God againwarrior01 (my guess is that you were given one of the 40 laptops). Kobojunkie and egift have decimated your argument. Take a bow and call it a day. Debate is over!!!!! |
Kobojunkie and egift, you gave superb answers. Debate is over!!! |
These fines are too expensive. A traffic fine supposed to be a slap on the wrist. They need to set fines that people can pay. If not, folks will opt towards bribing the traffic regulators. 30K fine for an Okada man to pay That is ridiculous in my honest opinion. |
I have to add my own too: OKAY ![]() |
Gbawe: My brother, we hope so. Let them do it early and many of us will work for them for free - and even commit our personal resources to deposing the PDP. This is not about money because it is only the vacuous and shallow fellow who sees money which will be ultimately worthless in a failed Nation.I am hopeful about our future. It usually takes 2 - 3 generations for a democracy to become stable. I think that Nigeria's democracy will stabilize when we have two political parties of equal might and influence. Once this happens, it will serve as a catalyst for good governance. Just imagine in all 36 states in the country, there is a viable alternative to the ruling party. An alternative with the grassroots network and financial resources to mount a formidable challenge to the ruling party. Every politician will have no choice but to do their best. That is what we need. I want Nigeria to get to a point where we kick people out of office, not because they made no effort to do anything, but because they tried their best but their best wasn't good enough. |
Below are the results. Folks if you take a close look at the results, you will see that Oshiomole won by a very narrow margin in the "Esan Northeast" local government. That is Antony Anenih's LGA. Word on the street is that PDP was buying the voter registration cards of non-PDP members. I guess that may have contributed to the narrower margin there. I am so happy that Oshiomole won everywhere, including Anenih's LGA. This is a good old fashion butt kicking. http://saharareporters.com/news-page/final-vote-tally-edo-state-gubernatorial-election

Gbawe: Signs of things to come in 2015. Regardless of the empty propaganda delivered here daily ,and in cyberspace in general, Nigerians know that our Country is drifting badly and dangerously while the usual suspect continue to amass hideous wealth.I cannot agree with you more. It looks like ACN and CPC are really serious about merging this time around. |
Oshiomole is winning in my local government which also happens to be Tony Anenih's local government: "4.ESAN NORTH EAST: ACN=2673, PDP=2251." I am so happy!!! In the 2011 election, my part of Edo state voted for PDP because Anenih told them to. They voted for a PDP senator and a PDP member of the house of reps. Today the pendulum has swung. Be that as it may, I am a bit disappointed that Oshiomole's margin of victory in my LGA is not better. I guess there are some folks who still follow Anenih's marching orders. |
Is this the same Alams who sits next to GEJ during political events? |
Germannig: http://www.naijapundit.com/news/buhari-has-taken-the-hausas-hostage-sule-lamidoBuhari did not win Nasarawa in 2011. I repeat, Buhari did not win Nasarawa 2011. He got 40% of the votes, while Jonathan got 59%. Governor Lamido, please get your facts right before you open your mouth to speak. |
dedeike: Post sack blues by Azazi ft Bello Haliru. You want Gej to arrest a former Head of state abi? Pls when ever they want to effect such arrest on Buhari, they should tell me so that I will pack my bags and head to my village. It's not as if Gej cannot arrest Buhari but he acted very right to avoid such arrest. Let me tell you the likely consequences of such arrest. 1. Buhari himself will never co operate with the security agencies so the real aim of extracting information from him will be defeated. 2. While he's in detention, the opposition in Nigeria led by Tunde Bakare will mount a groundbreaking Occupy protests in Lagos and so many haters are beckoning for such opportunity to come so that they will rubbish Gej. 3. ACN and CPC will heavily poiticise the issue as a deliberate witchunting of the opposition. 4.The entire North West will explode in protests and thus draw more support for Boko Haram. 5. Buhari will come out from the detention and earn more popularity overnight. 6. Renouned Gej haters on Nairaland will now have more ammunition to attack the president as being clueless and vindictive against his opponent. Abeg I no follow. Now I even know why Azazi was sacked.Oga do you play chess? Your analysis hit the nail on the head. The best post thus far. 4 real. |
GEJ and his cabinet members need to stop announcing plans and start announcing results. |
I agree with you we need to scrap state of origin bruhaha and replace it with state of residence. |
Oga bayooooooo, no be only you go school. Leave Buhari alone. bayooooooo: Buhari is not, in a word, electable. |
This is ridiculous. To all you Buhari haters, please show me a video of Buhari saying anything anti-christian or pro-violence. The notion of Buhari being a religious fanatic is a perception that was created by PDP. Goodluck Jonathan on his best day can never be one tenth the man that Buhari is. GEJ is a corrupt, inept, clueless leader whose transformation agenda has turned out to be more of the same. Comparing Buhari to Ibori is notorious. Any objective and rational thinking Nigerian knows that Buhari and Ibori are not in the same league. |
Beaf: Simple. Common sense.Hahahahahahaha I see that PHIPEX came to rescue you from bondage. I am going to leave you alone. Have a wonderful day Beaf. I have to go to work. Cheers!!! hercules07 thank you for continuing my argument ![]() |
Beaf, Beaf, Beaf. How many times did I call you? Can you please answer the question? Please show us a VIDEO of Buhari saying anything anti-christian or pro-violence. Thank you. |
Beaf: Madness, lawlessness and wanton bloodshed are to be expected from Buhari's supporters.Oga Beaf, please please and please show us a video of Buhari saying anything anti-christian or pro-violence. Thank you. |
