Okay, I am not going to engage in ad hominem attacks. I started it with my "prayer" and I take it back. recoome you came back swinging .@ efisher I actually think Buhari is a pretty accomplished fellow and although you may call him a failure, most Nigerians will never rise to the level of power and influence that he has gotten in his life. He rose to become one of the highest ranking members of the Nigerian Army (a major general), he was governor of the northeastern region, minister of petroleum who built two refineries, chairman of NNPC, head of state, and executive chairman of PTF. Nobody who is a failure accomplishes those things. I do not mean to regurgitate his resume to you. You both follow politics and as a result, I can assume that you know Buhari's resume just as well as I know it. Moreover, the fact that his primary source of income is his military pension is also very impressive. Buhari has taken the principled stand of trying to build a strong opposition in Nigeria. He could have easily joined the ruling party and become an egunje owanbe elderstates man. But he has chosen the more principled path of strengthening our democracy by providing the electorate with an alternative. Most people would agree that a strong and vibrant opposition provides strength to any democracy. Yes Buhari has not succeeded in his quest to come back to power but he has followed the channels of democracy to challenge the results which were widely criticized by domestic and foreign observers. He made a concerted effort to prevent the almajiri's for going to the streets to cause mayhem. He deserves credit for that. The point that I am making is that win or lose Buhari, despite all his shortcomings, has presented the PDP with a formidable opposition in this election and he deserves a pat in the back for it. Calling him a failure is not fair. BTW your prayer was fantastic. ![]() |
recoome:I have a prayer for every Nigerian who votes for PDP this year: "May God run your life and the lives of your children the way PDP has run Nigeria for the last 12 years. AMEN!!!!!" |
head_to_to Why does Goodluck Jonathan pal around with coup plotters like Obasanjo. Why does he say that a coup plotter is like a father to him (Babangida)? Show me your friends, |

Genbuhari3:Very well said Genbuhari3 |
Folks, when does INEC start announcing results? |
Genbuhari3:May God bless you. I do not understand why Nigerians still acquiesce to the brutality of the PDP. Please continue to spread the word. Nigeria is worth fighting for. Buhari/Bakare 2011 |

Below is the official response of CPC to Bluelabs Limited. ___________________________________________ Don’t Blackmail CPC and General Buhari We consider it a privilege to document our thoughts on this distraction attempt by so called youths and their childish attempts at blackmail. The logo of the CPC is a pen and a flag, it means the party is keen on knowledge, deeply patriotic and eager to re-write Nigeria’s history. We are amazed that digital youths can be so uninformed about the social media we have all come to taut ourselves as experts on. There are a few documents on this that state actual facts about how this is a cheap blackmail attempt. Some of the documents will be held until further evidence is required. 1. We have documents showing the letters received by CPC officials from third party individuals, the date it got to CPC officials and required time for response. These documents show that we communicated with them within their time frame. 2. We have records of email from Femi Odewumi, MD of Bluelabs LLC indicating their intention to sell the “project” to CPC. 3. We have records of our phone conversations with the MD of Bluelabs LLC, Femi Odewumi where we requested a meeting to make available to him the facts about this case that they have not put into consideration. We also have a record of his return call indicating that his team is meeting in the afternoon and he will get back to us. All these conversations happened hours before launching their malicious website and Femi Odewunmi has not called back. 4. We have records of the the source of the YouTube video, an individual (a fan of the Buhari/Bakare 2011 Campaign) who made it and the various people who have uploaded other videos using the same soundtrack. This YouTube video was a user generated content offered to Buhari4Change Fanpage publicly on Facebook with permissions for use. 5. We have screen shots backing up every detail, some of which are already being adjusted by the people perpetrating this ill. While neither CPC nor any of it’s officials own, designed or developed the YouTube video montage in question, please find below the terms and conditions of Youtube. This “Transformation soundtrack” has been used to create videos and uploaded to YouTube since, the Jan 30, 2011 (or earlier). YouTube’s Terms of Service about video uploaded to their website states: by submitting Content to YouTube, you hereby grant YouTube a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the Content in connection with the Service and YouTube’s (and its successors’ and affiliates’) business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the Service (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels. You also hereby grant each user of the Service a non-exclusive license to access your Content through the Service, and to use, reproduce, distribute, display and perform such Content as permitted through the functionality of the Service and under these Terms of Service. – Excerpts from YouTube Terms of Service. If you feel strongly that the people who initially uploaded your music have violated your rights. There is a process with YouTube to notify them before it becomes viral. It is a big shame, that opposition politicians can go to any length to corrupt the youth of a nation, at this time, when we are battling for the nations soul. CPC and Buhari-Bakare have become a growing movement in Nigeria, social media and user generated content are an integral part of ensuring information dissemination beyond government controlled media. While CPC and General Buhari will not infringe on people’s intellectual property, WE WILL NOT SUCCUMB TO BLACKMAIL. http://buhari4change.com/?page_id=1771 |
aletheia:All I am saying is that blame should be directed at the volunteer who created the Ad. From what we are hearing the volunteer did not have the right to the song. The owner of song should transfer his anger on the volunteer. |
A volunteer made the ad not the Buhari campaign. Those Bluelabs people are opportunists. |
Here is my version of the story _______________ Just sharing this story from a friend! One day a Corrupt Senator was tragically hit by a car n died. His soul arrives in heaven n is met by St. Peter @d entrance."Welcome " says St. Peter. "B4 u settle in, u have 2 spend one day in hell n one in heaven. Then u choose where 2spend eternity. St. Peter escorts him 2d elevator n he goes down 2hell. D doors open n he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course,a clubhouse in front of it are all his friends, politicians who had worked with him. Everyone is very happy. They run 2greet him, shake hands, n reminisce abt d good times they had while getting rich @d expense of d people. They played a friendly game of golf n then dine on lobster, caviar n d finest champagne. Also present is d devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing n telling jokes. They r all having such a good time that b4 d Senator realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell n waves while d elevator rises, d elevator goes up, up, n d door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting 4him, "Now it's time to visit heaven, "So, 24 hours passed with d Senator joining a group of contented souls moving frm cloud2cloud, playing d harp n singin. They ad a good time. St. Peter returns. "Well, u've spent a day in hell n anoda in heaven. Now choose your eternity. " Senator reflects 4a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would neva av said it b4, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would b better off in hell. "So St. Peter escorts him 2d elevator n he goes down 2hell, Now d doors of d elevator open n he's in d middle of a barren land covered with waste n garbage, all his friends dressed in rags, picking up d trash n putting it in black bags as more trash falls frm above.d devil comes over 2 him n puts his arm around his shoulders. "I don't understand, "stammers d Senator. "Yesterday I was here What happened? " devil smiles @him n says, "Yesterday WE were campaigning. Today, YOU voted, " Vote wisely in 2011 Elections! Reject Badluck Jonathan Reject Poverty Development Party, PDP VOTE FOR CHANGE!!! VOTE BUHARI/BAKARE, THE CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN |
@recoome, Your post is very informative. I will compare it to the results on election day. |
Hahahahahahaha you had me there ![]() |
All these polls look suspicious. Any poll showing Jonathan over 60% in very suspicious. Anything between 50% and 60% is suspicious. In a free and fair election, Jonathan will not win up to 50% of the vote. There are too many people in PDP's payroll from security agencies to media houses. I will not be surprised if polling companies are now on their payroll. |
AfricaMars:Not necessarily. In the South many people who hate PDP fear Buhari because of the perception that he is an islamic extremist. As a result they support Ribadu. The same is the case in the NC. Ribadu comes off as a Northerner that Southerners can work with because the perception of Buhari is that he is too extreme. Buhari supporters are either Northern conservative Muslims or die hard progressives in the South. Also many voters do not associate Jonathan with the corruption of the PDP. They see him as a humble Ijaw chief whose destiny by virtue of his names (Goodluck) has led him to the Presidency. I understand that Ribadu could be a spoiler for Buhari. but not in this circumstance. Buhari's campaign at its current state does not stand much of a chance in the SW. His campaign does not have the resources to capture enough votes. Since Buhari does not have the resources to capture enough votes in the SW, ACN is capturing votes that could have gone to Jonathan. |
PapaBrowne:I do not agree with you when you say that Buhari should have abandoned the North. He needed to fire up his base. However, he has not penetrated the South West the way he needs to to have a significant impact. Ribadu has done a better job in penetrating the SW. In a weird way Buhari needs Ribadu in this election. He needs Ribadu to have a commanding victory in the SW and he needs Ribadu to make the NC a three way race. The votes Ribadu gets in the SW and NC are still votes that Jonathan did not get. Thus it helps Buhari. |
aisha2:Thanks, unfortunately I will not be in town to vote. I have convinced 3 people to vote for Buhari on April 9th. However these people are in SW and SS and as a result may be voting ACN on April 2nd. |
GenBuhari, Here are two wikipedia articles that can help you: Politics of Nigerian: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics_of_Nigeria Presidential System of Government: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidential_system |
My 2 cents is this. For Buhari to win the election, he needs to win the popular vote. He will not have the 25% in 24 states but he needs to win the popular vote. If he can do that, he will demystify the PDP to the point where he can give them a knock out punch in 7 days time when a runoff happens. It will be similar to the way Obama demystified the Clintons in Iowa. Please tell your friends and family in the South that should still vote for Buhari even though he may not win any Southern state. Every vote is needed to free our country from the vipers called the PDP. If Jonathan wins the popular vote but does not meet the 25% threshold, what will happen is that people may feel that Jonathan simply needs to confirm his victory in 7 days. That will be a tougher battle. |
Folks this election is going to be interesting. The reason why is because the result of the national assembly election will not be a reflection of the result in the Presidential election. In the SW, SS, and SE ACN will perform better in the national assembly election than they will in the Presidential election. Also, PDP, ACN, and ANPP will perform better in the NW, NC, and NE in the National Assembly election than they will in the Presidential. Since Buhari is not on the ballot in this election, the CPC may experience a set back in this April 2nd election because many of their candidates have little name recognition and are underfunded. They are relying on Buhari's coat tails but he is not on the ballot this Saturday. Jonathan was very strategic in making sure that the election was not on the same day. If it was on the same day, people in the NW, and NE would vote Buhari from top to bottom. This election will test whether the people of the NW and NE have adopted CPC as their party or if it is only Buhari they want. I am saying this so that folks can control their expectations. After Saturday's elections, many people may want to day that the Presidential election will be between PDP and ACN. However, the dynamics of the Presidential elections will be much different from this one. So my message to the major players are as follows: ACN: Do not get too excited when the results come in. Ribadu will not perform as well on April 9th. PDP: The same goes to you too, although SW will be better on April 9th than it will be on April 2nd. CPC: Do not dwell on Saturday's results. April 9th is when CPC's electoral strength will be truly tested. |

GenBuhari, How many times am I going to tell you that the 2003 election was used to measure Buhari's support in the North. Buhari won ten states in 2003 in the North. He won some of them by landslides (Kastina 76%, Zamfara 80%, Kano 75%, Jigawa 80%, Sokoto 73%, Kebbi 65%, Borno 65%, Bauchi 62%, Yobe 64%, Gombe 53%). He lost the middle-belt but still got between 30-40% in all the middle belt states. In a three way race 30-40% in the middle belt makes him competitive there. Dude I tried to be fair and objective here. Also the model allows you to make adjustments if you do not agree with the assumptions I made and post it for all to see. Or do you expect Buhari to get 99% in the NW and NE? Let us analyze things objectively. |
I do not think the tribune article helps much because it focuses on the strength of the parties in the governorship elections. Buhari is going to outperform the other candidates in his party. Unfortunately many CPC candidates are little known underfunded candidates who are banking on riding Buhari's coat tails to victory. Many states in the North will vote PDP or ANPP for governor but vote Buhari for President. We need a state by state analysis of the strength of each party's presidential candidates in all the states. That will be more helpful. |
@aletheia, Right now I am not in the position to say. What I am hearing is that Ribadu's chance of winning in the SW is shaky, hence I estimate he narrowly wins. A Ribadu campaign staffer I communicate with from time to time told me that Ribadu will out perform Jonathan in the NW and NE because of zoning issue. He also says that Ribadu could pull atleast 20% in the SE, win Benue state and make the middle-belt a three way race. I try to be more conservative with my analysis. Also, he is a Ribadu staffer and is obviously optimistic about his candidates prospects. I would need to hear input from others on the factors stated to be able to say. To be clear, I need input from people who live in Nigeria or people who are in touch with politically conscious people who live in Nigeria. As the Bible says "in the multiple of counsel comes wisdom" . For now, I would say that President Jonathan is still the man to beat. Buhari is an insurgent candidate who is building momentum. I worked on the Obama campaign and I can tell you that Buhari now is that way Obama was a few months before Iowa. I only wish Buhari had a few more months to campaign. Buhari winning the popular vote and forcing a runoff will be similar to Obama's Iowa moment. It will completely demystify the PDP the same way Obama demystified the Clintons. Now back to your question. Right now I will say that an instance where Buhari wins the popular vote is not impossible, but I am not yet sure if the above conditions have been met. Thus, I need input from people who live in Nigeria. Will Ribadu may underperform in the SW thus helping Jonathan? Has the anger about zoning receded? Has Ribadu made enough inroads in the North to outperform Jonathan in the NW and NE? Has CPC establish enough name recognition in Kogi and Kwara? Is Ribadu strong enough in the NC and can he make it a three way race? Will Shekarau over perform in the North thus hurting Buhari? These questions need to be answered and I do not have enough info to answer them precisely. |
@efisher I personally think that Jonathan will have 25% in two thirds of the states. However, I do not think that Buhari will have 25% in two thirds of the states because that will mean that he needs to win 25% in at least 5 Southern states. Unfortunately the chance of than happening is very low. Hence, I still stand by my position that Buhari needs to win the popular vote. I do not think that it is impossible but it will require so many stars to align. If such a thing happens, it will be the biggest political upset in Nigerian history. Attached is a scenario that I have where that can happen. I try to make my assumptions as realistic as possible. I assume that the zoning issue will be so big of an issue that Ribadu outperforms President Jonathan in the NW. Ribadu gets double digit support in the NE which eats into President Jonathan's support. Ribadu also makes the NC a three way race. These are the conditions that are needed for Buhari and I have no way of telling if these conditions are being met. In a very strange way, Buhari needs Ribadu to do well in this election. He needs Ribadu to win in the SW and he needs Ribadu to be a strong contender in the NC. Also Buhari needs double digit support in the SW. For Buhari to become our next president, there will have to be a runoff election. Buhari will be better off winning the popular vote the first time because that will demystify the PDP and remove the air of inevitability around the party. If it is a case where PDP wins the popular vote but not 25% in 24 states, they will be harder to beat. Because they will still be seen as the winner that only needs to be confirmed. |
I agree with you!!! |
Fellows we need to be able to coordinate this thing with our email accounts. I have tried reaching, AIT, Channels, and Silverbird. Silverbird responded asking for more questions. I called then and left a message. Please provide me with your email accounts so that I can put you on copy. |
