It can mean the breath of life(Genesis 2:7, Ecclesiastes 12:7), Spirit beings(John 4:24, Psalm 104:4), God’s active force(Psalm 33:6), wind(Ecclesiastes 1:6) and the mental/heart disposition of a person. John 13:21

Job 32:8a suggests that man was built with a force(breath of life) that enables him to live, Job 32:8b suggests the work of God’s holy spirit on humans. John 14:26, 2Peter 1:20-21


While Daniel 7:15 which you quoted fittingly describes the mental disposition/inclination of a person.

Notice that “heart” and “spirit” occur as synonyms so it simply means that the Israelites whose hearts inclined to contribute, did so. It has nothing to do with an inherent spirit person in man after all the makeup of all humans is listed at Genesis 2:7.

@OP, concerning the topic of your thread, I don’t think it was Watchtower that inserted Scriptures like John 4:24, Psalm 104:4 and Hebrews 1:7 into your Bible so if you need the Scriptural backup of those claims, the aforementioned are your go-to.
The first says that God is a Spirit, the second and third scripture says that angels are spirits. So please do the addition and subtraction.

Paul was only using hyperbole to suggest that cultivating love was better than speaking any form of languages, not that humans somehow had the ability to speak in angelic tongues.
After all he later wrote in the same 1Corinthians 13 at verse 8 that the gifts of tongues, prophecy, healing, powerful works etc would fade out of existence when knowledge would become complete, that is, the Bible with the book of Revelation sealing it all up. Revelation 22:18,19

3. The Jews were just looking for whatever they could nail Jesus with so they came up all sorts of false accusations against Jesus. The same Jews that alleged that Jesus said taxes shouldn’t be paid to the Roman government? [Luke 23:2] Even when he really said that everyone should use discernment and give what belongs to Caesar back to him? Matthew 22:21
So why should we trust whatever the Jews are saying?

4. Funny how none of the Scriptures attest the resurrection of Jesus to himself. It is always expressions like “God resurrected Jesus” and “God raised up the Lord[Jesus]” and never “Jesus resurrected himself”. Acts 2:32, Romans 4:24, 1Corinthians 6:14, Colossians 2:12, Hebrews 13:20

1. By following their Master’s earlier instructions by preaching from house to house in their locale. Matthew 10:11-13, Acts 5:42
Today, Jehovah’s Witnesses are following in the footsteps of Jesus and those early faithful Christians by going from house to house with their message, which results in a sound witness about Jesus Christ as Jehovah’s appointed King of the Kingdom he said we should preach to others about.

2. By their actions and conduct. Jesus told them that they could attract others to their message when they reflect the light in the message that they preach so that means that many would expect high moral standards for them which in turn gives a sound witness.

Today, Jehovah’s Witnesses are also following in the footsteps of Jesus and his early disciples by witnessing through conduct, actions and words. 1Peter 2:12
So that’s why many today expect high moral standards from Jehovah’s Witnesses because they are the only group who are truly representing i.e. witnessing through action about Jesus Christ. 1Peter 3:16, Hebrews 13:18

Actions and deeds speak way, way, way louder than words. That’s why I asked you earlier who truly witnesses about Jesus Christ through the actions listed below?

1. Preaching and teaching vehemently from the Bible about God’s Kingdom from house to house?
Matthew 24:14, 28:19-20, Acts 5:42, 20:20

2. Remaining separate from the world i.e. not engaging in worldly conduct and neutral in political affairs?
John 15:18-20, 17:14-16 compare 1Peter 4:3 & James 1:27

3. Supporting and advocating for God’s Kingdom as the only hope of mankind? Matthew 6:10, John 18:36

4. Have intense love for their fellow members to the extent that outsiders think they’re all mindless zombies and brainwashed?
John 13:34-35 compare Galatians 6:10, 1Peter 1:22

5. Refuse to take up weapons of war against their fellow believers or any other HUMAN in fact because of the belief that life is sacred[Exodus 20:13, Psalm 36:9] and love for our neighbour?
Matthew 22:39 compare Isaiah 2:2-4

6. United in the same line of thought and in one form of worship? John 17:20-23, 1Corinthians 1:10

Jesus Christ said that we must continually prove that we are his disciples. John 15:8
So if you cannot show any other religious group fulfilling the above commands that came out from Jesus’ mouth then this thread is completely useless.

So yes, Jehovah’s Witnesses speak[witness] about Jesus in the course of their preaching and also through action by letting others know the role Jesus has to play in all of God’s purposes[Daniel 7:13-14, John 5:22, 1Timothy 2:3-6, Revelation 19:11-16] but since he is not the Almighty God, Jehovah whom we primarily witness about[Isaiah 43:10-12], he doesn’t deserve the first place in our hearts, which he[Jesus] made clear to others[Deuteronomy 6:4-5 compare Matthew 22:37-39] and he also doesn’t deserve our worship which should go ONLY to Jehovah our God.
