livingchrist:See, you do not just open up a thread like this hoping for Jehovah’s Witnesses to comment by asking several questions but when they ask you auxiliary questions you pretend as if you’re blind. When you browsed the meaning of “nature”, how many definitions did you see pop up? Why are you holding on to only one of the meanings and leaving the others? Haddeylium’s logic is totally feasible, it’s just a sorry sight for you to see that the water you’re looking for is only found in the wells and streams of Jehovah’s people. Isaiah 55:1, Revelation 22:17 Meanwhile you want to remain thirsty because of arrogance, it’s totally fine and understandable. Luke 16:24 According to Ecclesiastes 3:20, man and animals have the same origin—from dust—except you’ve removed the book of Ecclesiastes then I can understand. But animals are not intelligent creatures like man and so they cannot converse with humans. Genesis 1:26 The angels(sons of God) are far more intelligent creatures than man and they were made in God’s image. Psalm 104:4 Just as you and your son who has the same nature(in physical body, mental abilities/qualities etc) can have conversations together, it’s same way Jehovah holds meetings and conversations with his Sons whom share the same nature with him(as Spirit beings, mental abilities/qualities etc) 1Kings 22:19-22, Job 1:6 So can you PLEASE address my own questions now? Except you’re too scared to attempt the question? DappaD: |
livingchrist:The bolded is what I’m meant to be asking you because if the spirit is a person in man, definitely the heart is also a person. Exodus 35:21 No be so again? |
livingchrist:There are up to six meanings of the word “spirit”[Hebrew: ruach, Greek: pneuma]in the Scriptures. It can mean the breath of life(Genesis 2:7, Ecclesiastes 12:7), Spirit beings(John 4:24, Psalm 104:4), God’s active force(Psalm 33:6), wind(Ecclesiastes 1:6) and the mental/heart disposition of a person. John 13:21 Job 32:8a suggests that man was built with a force(breath of life) that enables him to live, Job 32:8b suggests the work of God’s holy spirit on humans. John 14:26, 2Peter 1:20-21 While Daniel 7:15 which you quoted fittingly describes the mental disposition/inclination of a person. Take note of Exodus 35:21a: And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, Notice that “heart” and “spirit” occur as synonyms so it simply means that the Israelites whose hearts inclined to contribute, did so. It has nothing to do with an inherent spirit person in man after all the makeup of all humans is listed at Genesis 2:7. |
livingchrist:This child still does not want to learn his lesson. Okay okay, so let’s agree that man and animals have different nature although being flesh, does man have conversations with animals the same way God communicates and has conversations with his angels? 1Kings 22:19-22 That’s when you’ll understand that God and the angels have the same nature but man and animals do not in that sense. Again, the meaning of “nature” has been explained thoroughly. Can I ask you one question though, will those anointed Christians at 2Peter 1:4 REALLY become sharers in divine nature? As in will they have the same nature as God? I want to check something. |
livingchrist:So in your village, animals were made in God’s image abi? Haddeylium already explained in detail that the word “nature” has several meanings so why are you quoting the one that means something else even when it doesn’t help in your argument? |
livingchrist:“Nature” according to Merrian-Webster dictionary means the inherent character[features, qualities] or basic consitution of a person or thing. At John 4:24, Jesus who knew his Father more than anybody(Matthew 11:27) stated that Jehovah is a Spirit who has a vast number of beautiful qualities and attributes such as humility and mightiness. 2Samuel 22:36, Psalm 147:5 The angels whom the Bible describes as spirits also exhibit some of these qualities which means they have the same nature as God. Psalm 103:20, Revelation 19:10 I noticed how for ages now, you have been running from 2Peter 1:4 which states that anointed Christians will share divine nature as well. May I ask why you always run away from that Scripture? same way humans are also describe as godlike or elohim, does it mean humans and God has same nature?Nah I think your logic doesn’t work well in your favour. Your question should be tailored this way: “Does the fact that Jesus is being described as a god make him equal to God”? John 1:1 Jesus never sought for worship because he made himself a servant. Is that so? So after Jesus ascended to heaven, why did he still remain a Servant? Acts 3:13 Jehovah means I become whatever I want to be.“I will Become What I Choose to Become” (Exodus 3:14) is just telling you that Jehovah can switch roles with ease and nothing can hinder the outworking of his will and purpose. Isaiah 46:10 It doesn’t mean that God can metamorphosize into any and anyhow form after all Jesus has already made it clear to us that God exists as a Spirit. John 4:24 For the sake of his purpose he can become a Disciplinarian. Jeremiah 30:11 Then if it suits him, he can then become a loving Shepherd. Psalm 23:1 And at other times, he can be a Powerful & Mighty Warrior. Psalm 24:8 In the case of the Israelites, he proved to be both a Deliverer(Exodus 20:2) and a Mighty Warrior. Exodus 15:3 Not the same way, Jesus case is special, even God the father commanded all Angels to worship him.I hope you’re aware that prayer is a form of worship? Matthew 6:9 So when Jesus was praying to somebody on the night before his death, which is fully recorded at John chapter 17, who was he rendering worship to? Compare Matthew 4:10, Hebrews 5:7,8 No point made here. You won’t just admit that you have a crush on Jehovah’s Witnesses and you admire the way in which we are skilled with God’s Word. Ephesians 6:17 But as usual, it’s pride and arrogance that gets the best of people(James 4:6) even after they’ve observed and taken note of all the positive fruits that Jehovah’s holy spirit has accomplished in our group. Zechariah 4:6, Galatians 5:22,23 |
SOFTENGR:If I’m to get you correctly, you assume the OP was once a Jehovah’s Witness? That would be a resounding no because the least amongst us will school him badly if care is not taken. I myself, am one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, so excuse my narrative if it seemed to sound like I wasn’t. |
livingchrist:@OP, concerning the topic of your thread, I don’t think it was Watchtower that inserted Scriptures like John 4:24, Psalm 104:4 and Hebrews 1:7 into your Bible so if you need the Scriptural backup of those claims, the aforementioned are your go-to. The first says that God is a Spirit, the second and third scripture says that angels are spirits. So please do the addition and subtraction. And also according to watch tower 'Demons are angels who have turned evil by their choices'.Oh so you now agree with Watchtower? How convenient. For the sake of reference however, those reading can go and look up Genesis 6:2, 2Peter 2:4 & Jude 6 in whatever Bible translation let us see if the Watchtower are honest or not. But there is an eye opener to all of these, If demons are Angels it means they have same nature with God.Psalm 8:5 says concerning the angels being “gods” or “godlike ones”[Elohim] who reside in heaven as God’s sons so please how will they not have the same nature as God? Job 1:6 The bible made references to devils as the one the as the gods pagans sacrificed to.Yes it’s no surprise because the Chief Apostate[who was an angelic son of God] sought and keeps seeking worship that doesn’t belong to him. John 8:44 Whereas the other faithful angels refused to be given any form of reverence or worship. Judges 13:18, Revelation 19:10 compare Colossians 2:18 Even Jesus himself never sought worship because he never tried to become Jehovah’s rival. Philippians 2:6 Again, refer to Psalm 8:5. Why are men or even Angels called gods in the bible?Yes the same way Jesus was also a god(John 1:1) which means he is not the Almighty God too. John 17:3 Instead of saying Jehovah’s Witnesses are deceived, why not bring out the Scripture that negates what Psalm 103:20 & 2Peter 2:11 says about angels being mighty in power and strength like God? So what are the angels looking for in the most holy place called heaven if they don’t possess God’s atrributes? Hebrews 10:19, Revelation 4:8 Thank you for the wonderful conclusion but you failed to address the readers why you didn’t mention Jesus being a god just like angels and men(John 1:1) which means he’s not the true God? John 17:3

christainslove:Jehovah’s Witnesses use several Bible translations in their study of the Bible(Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:1-3) and in their preaching of the good news of God’s Kingdom. Matthew 24:14 They prefer the “New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures” because it restores the name of the true God, Jehovah to the more than 7,000times it appeared in the Bible. Whereas other Bible’s have replaced God’s name with titles such as “LORD”. Compare Psalm 110:1 They affirm that God—Jehovah—is the most high.Read Psalm 83:18 from your King James Bible. Jesus Christ is God’s agent, through whom sinful humans can be reconciled to God.According to John 6:38, Jesus said he was sent by whom please? For the fact alone that he was sent automatically makes him an angel. It is only through Jesus as mediator, that humans can gain everlasting life that’s why he’s regarded as the Chief Agent/Prince. Acts 5:31, 1Timothy 2:6 The Holy Spirit isAccording to 2Peter 1:21, faithful men of old who penned down the Scriptures were “moved” or “borne along” by a force—God’s holy spirit which enabled them to see visions and record inspired statements and prophecies. Compare Micah 3:8 But the bible says-1 John 5:7-For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.Go and search “Johannine Comma” in Google. You’ll see several references and articles written that say these words were spuriously added to the Bible in the KJV. To them,Jesus is not divine but a created being.Angels are also divine creatures[Psalm 8:5, Hebrews 1:7] and they are regarded as sons of God. Job 1:6 Jesus Christ is the first born Son of all creation, which automatically makes him part of God’s creations. Colossians 1:15-17, Revelation 3:14 Anointed Christians who will go to heaven, will also share divine nature. But I don’t think that will make them equal to God now. 2Peter 1:4 Jesus also didn’t rise physically from the dead. The unleavened bread that Jesus used to signify his physical body at the Lord’s Evening Meal was said to be “given in the behalf of many once and for all time”. Matthew 26:26-28, Luke 22:19-20 So how can the physical body of Jesus offered as a sacrifice still be retrieved after resurrection? Hebrews 10:10 That’s not even possible else the ransom sacrifice won’t have any value. That’s why Paul and Peter were inspired to write that Jesus resurrected as a spirit being. 1Corinthians 15:42-44, 1Peter 3:18 Jesus is the son of God and he died and rose from the dead for our sins.Jehovah God has several spirit sons. Job 38:7 Even numbering into the billions perhaps. Daniel 7:10, Revelation 5:11 Yet only Jesus Christ is called his “only-begotten Son” because he was created first by Jehovah before any other creature. Compare Proverbs 8:22 Jehovah’s Witnesses as a group are the only ones who place a very very very high value on life. As a result, we do not violate God’s standards on eating or infusing of blood into the body system. Genesis 9:4, Leviticus 17:11, Deuteronomy 12:23, Acts 15:29 And we view children even unborn ones as very precious in the sight of our God so anything pertaining to abortion is regarded as sin amongst us. Exodus 21:22, Psalm 139:16 Jehovah’s Witnesses believe in strict compliance to the commands of Jehovah God. Deuteronomy 6:2-9 To others though, this may be viewed as “fanaticism” because when it comes to obedience to God’s commands, they feel it must not be followed strictly thereby becoming wise in their own eyes. Romans 12:16 People die everyday for the flimsiest of reasons yet when it comes to dying on account of keeping God’s standards which has several rewards(John 12:25), many think it’s unreasonable even though they may profess to worship God. Isaiah 29:13 |
MaxInDHouse:You’re even going too far my brother. The vast majority of people today believe Grecian philosophers like Plato, Socrates, Anaximenes, Aristotle and even Philo(contemporary of Jesus) who are normally described as “Critical thinkers” all existed yet their teachings had no profound impact on anyone or the society. They were just conveyors of empty words and void precepts. Compare Colossians 2:8 Meanwhile, many today allude that Jesus Christ whom the Bible describes as “Wonderful Counsellor”[Isaiah 9:6] did not walk this earth whereas his own teachings and ideologies had more than significant impact on the great number of crowds who listened to him. Matthew 7:28-29, John 7:46. The famous “Sermon on the Mount” lecture given by Jesus is a testimony to that since several upbuilding principles were laid down for Christian life and worship. Matthew 5-7 Satan has definitely been working overtime to see to it that the proud and haughty ones remain in spiritual blindness. 2Corinthians 4:4 |
peniel465:1Corinthians 13:1 mentions the tongues of heavenly angelic beings and that should automatically tell you that spirit beings including God and the angels have the ability to communicate with one another in the heavens. 1Kings 22:19-22 Paul was only using hyperbole to suggest that cultivating love was better than speaking any form of languages, not that humans somehow had the ability to speak in angelic tongues. After all he later wrote in the same 1Corinthians 13 at verse 8 that the gifts of tongues, prophecy, healing, powerful works etc would fade out of existence when knowledge would become complete, that is, the Bible with the book of Revelation sealing it all up. Revelation 22:18,19 |
franklytrue:Yes you are a Trinitarian. Just that your own version/opinion as usual differs from the widely accepted version of the so-called “Trinity”. So many things wrong in one write-up. After all of these, did Jesus ever say that he was the Father please? 1. Jesus said that his Father is greater than he is at John 14:28 so how can he still be the Father? Jesus’ disciples well knew that he was the firstborn & only begotten Son of God. Matthew 16:16 So what Jesus said at John 14:9 doesn’t mean he is the Father. You are just trying to quote him out of context. The Bible made mention of Jehovah’s humility[2Samuel 22:36], Jesus is also able to imitate his Father by exhibiting that beautiful quality. Matthew 11:29, Philippians 2:3-5 And Jesus is able to reflect his Father’s qualities to the maximum degree. Hebrews 1:3 2. Yes Jesus and his Father are ONE just as all of Jesus’ disciples are ONE. John 17:22 Certainly, his disciples did not form a mixture of personalities so John 10:30 suggests that Jehovah and his Son are united in one thought and purpose like Jesus’ disciples also were. Compare 2Corinthians 13:11 3. The Jews were just looking for whatever they could nail Jesus with so they came up all sorts of false accusations against Jesus. The same Jews that alleged that Jesus said taxes shouldn’t be paid to the Roman government? [Luke 23:2] Even when he really said that everyone should use discernment and give what belongs to Caesar back to him? Matthew 22:21 So why should we trust whatever the Jews are saying? 4. Funny how none of the Scriptures attest the resurrection of Jesus to himself. It is always expressions like “God resurrected Jesus” and “God raised up the Lord[Jesus]” and never “Jesus resurrected himself”. Acts 2:32, Romans 4:24, 1Corinthians 6:14, Colossians 2:12, Hebrews 13:20 5. Don’t deceive yourself. The thief at the side of Jesus was promised a resurrection in the future here on earth not that he followed Jesus anywhere. Acts 24:15 After all, Jesus himself did not go to heaven the day he died, rather he remained in the Grave three days[Matthew 16:21] before he was resurrected by God. 1Corinthians 15:3 It wasn’t until more than 40days after that he finally ascended to heaven. Acts 1:9 You either believe all he has said about himself or you call him a liar and the bible false. There is no middle ground. So that means you can point to where Jesus said he was God or not? This your Trinity was just a doctrine fabricated by the Roman Catholic Church. It has nothing to do with the Bible which states that Jehovah God is just ONE and not three-in-one. Deuteronomy 6:4, Galatians 3:20 And what more do you need? If he had expressly declared himself to be God, "Pharisees" like you will still not believe him because you cannot 'hear' his word for you are not his sheep. And yet he did not declare himself to be God so this point you’re trying to make it dead on arrival. You’re trying to force your Trinity into the Bible and it’s not going well for you. So going by your ideology, it then means that all the sons of God[angels] including Gabriel are equal to God since they share divine nature? Job 38:7, Psalm 104:4 Do the anointed Christians who go to heaven suddenly become God since they will also share divine nature? 2Peter 1:4 Of course, Jehovah is the Supreme Judge. Isaiah 33:22 In ancient Israel, God entrusted the work of JUDGING to mere men but that did not make them God. Deuteronomy 16:18 Paul said that he and the group of holy ones would be given the authority to JUDGE the world of mankind but that will not make him and others to become God. 1Corinthians 6:2 Jesus said that his Father, Jehovah gave him authority to JUDGE, so please how does that make him God now? John 5:22 You saw the pattern I drew, right? That goes to show your Trinity is empty without any Scriptural basis So does Jesus act out on his own initiative? The answer is no according to John 8:28 If God had not SENT his Son, Jesus, would any ransom have been paid? Matthew 20:28, John 3:16 If Jehovah did not plant Jesus as a tree, would any fruit have come forth from him? John 15:1 compare Matthew 15:13 This omnipresent and omniscient picture you’re trying to paint about God doesn’t even fit into the Bible because it suggests that God doesn’t follow his own standards. Deuteronomy 32:4 |
haddeylium:Something I picked up from one of the brothers with parts in the recent CA for our circuit: “Nothing kills faster than hopelessness and despair” Sonmvayina is even more hopeless than I thought and he might not know the harm he’s doing to himself. |
If it’s Jehovah’s Witnesses that came and preached to you that all those abracadabra done in your Churches has nothing to do with the ORIGINAL GIFT OF TONGUES that was done back in the first century[Acts 2:6-11, 1Corinthians 14:1-28], you’ll flare up by calling us “cultists” and begin cursing us that we’ll burn forever in your mythical non-existent “hellfire”. Today, Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that the miraculous gifts of holy spirit including the ability to speak in foreign tongues/languages have ceased[1Corinthians 13:8] yet Jehovah’s holy spirit is backing his earthly organization[Zechariah 4:6] and we speak in a different kind of tongues now in 240lands across the globe. Zephaniah 3:9, Matthew 24:14, Revelation 14:6

1Sharon:There are other commenters who came here to express what they knew on the topic. Not really satisfying answers if you ask me. You yourself didn’t help OP address the view he had, neither did any of the commenters so far but I who wanted to enlighten him on the issue suddenly became your target? |
sonmvayina:Whatever I say is never going to make sense to you if you believe that the events recorded in the Torah[Pentateuch] are just mere fiction. |
ublight:Hello. I’m one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. I’d to walk you through why religions are so diverse and perverse in nature today. Would that be okay? |
shadeyinka:God’s holy spirit is not a person rather it’s God’s active force that he uses to execute his will and purpose. Genesis 1:2, Micah 3:8, Luke 11:20 So it’s not a person that speaks to people, God only communicated his ideas/messages/prophecies to his faithful servants in the distant past using his holy spirit as a tool for doing so. 2Peter 1:20-21 As has been said, the miraculous gifts of prophecy is no more in use today[1Corinthians 13:8] but God’s holy spirit is still functioning today[Luke 11:13] and it helps to enlighten Jehovah’s Witnesses about the TRUTHS AND PROPHECIES THAT ARE ALREADY RECORDED IN GOD’S WORD THE BIBLE and not something new that’s out of the realm of the Scriptures. 1Corinthians 2:10 |
Image123:Why won’t kingxsamz[atheist] always be laughing at you with this your absurd logic? God was praying and yelling to himself on the stake? Matthew 27:46 God was favourably heard by himself and learnt obedience to himself? Hebrews 5:7-8 God commanded himself to sit at his own right hand? Psalm 110:1, Acts 2:34-35 God will return his Kingdom back to himself and subject himself to himself? 1Corinthians 15:24-28 You are even more ignorant than shadeyinka that’s why I don’t even engage you in discussions. At least he knows that he’s chatting with JW’s so he filters his words carefully but you go all the way out. Pause and listen to yourself! Please! |
shadeyinka:Do you know why you’re funny? We all know that God created the entire universe because of the written record[Bible] and the evidence all around us. Genesis 1:1, Romans 1:20 Yet, atheists and agnostics do not believe this. Some atheists have agreed that the universe indeed came through intelligent process but they’re not ready to concede that it was a “God” behind it so that’s why they keep asking “If God created the universe, then HOW did he do it?” even with all the evidence around us. There is evidence that those “old men” were appointed by Jesus Christ but you keep on asking “HOW did Jesus choose them?” In that case, you’re no more different from the atheists and agnostics because in essence you’re saying “Yes, Jehovah’s Witnesses are doing everything Jesus asked true Christians to do but HOW did Jesus choose them?” even with all the convincing evidence. HOW? HOW?? HOW ??.? Go and look up the meaning of that English word “DISCERNMENT” because you’re an infant when it comes to spiritual things. Hebrews 5:14 Through God’s holy spirit, only Jehovah’s Witnesses were able to DISCERN that those events at Matthew 24:3-7 would begin to take place in 1914 so it’s only amongst them that the “faithful and discreet slave” would emerge. Matthew 24:45-47 |
shadeyinka:Okay I get you now. Those miraculous gifts of holy spirit especially the gift of prophecy that was used by Paul and Peter to pen down NEW prophecies that had not yet occurred concerning the conclusion of this system of things. For example, 1Thessalonians 4:15-17, 5:2,3; 2Thessalonians 1:6-10, & 2Peter 3:1-13 came as an expression of God’s holy spirit on those men which moved them to record NEW prophecies. Compare 2Peter 1:20-21 But the time for recording new inspired prophecies has past[1John 4:1] and any who thinks he is receiving new prophecies from God or angels is actually communicating with demons[Galatians 1:8, 1Timothy 4:1] because the miraculous gifts of holy spirit ceased to exist after the first century. 1Corinthians 13:8 This does not mean that God’s active force stopped functioning. It’s only with regards to those miraculous gifts that God’s holy spirit no more works in that capacity because Satan and his agents can easily duplicate those gifts. 2Thessalonians 2:9 God’s holy spirit still functions today and he gives it to those asking in sincerity. Luke 11:13 It helps Jehovah’s Witnesses in the following ways: 1. To be able to preach and teach about the good news of God’s Kingdom. Acts 1:8 2. To endure trials and difficult circumstances. 2Corinthians 4:7, Philippians 4:13 3. To be able to cultivate fruitage of holy spirit in their gathering. Galatians 5:22-23 4. To appoint those taking the lead amongst God’s people. Acts 20:28 And the last one which is tailored to your question; 5. To reveal hidden truths about prophecies that have already been recorded in the Bible and not new prophecies. 1Corinthians 2:10 Through the Scriptures, Jehovah’s Witnesses relying on God’s holy spirit have been able to discern that Matthew 24:3-7, Luke 21:10-11, 2Timothy 3:1-5, Revelation 6:2-8, 12:7-12 began to take place in the year 1914 which marked the beginning of the “last days” and shortly after that, Jesus said he was going to appoint a “faithful and discreet slave”[Matthew 24:45-47] which took place in 1919 and that’s when the preaching and teaching about God’s Kingdom from house to house started to take effect down to this day. Matthew 24:14 According to the prophet Daniel, only those having insight will understand what’s really going on. Daniel 12:10 So if you think Jesus is meant to speak directly with anybody in order for appointment to take place, then just know that you’re wasting your time because AS OF NOW, any voice you think you’re hearing from “heaven” is from Satan and his agents. Matthew 24:23-25 |
shadeyinka:Okay okay okay so how did you know that Jesus had God’s backing? Is it not because you saw it written in the Bible? Did God call all the Israelites, sit them down and tell them that Jesus was his Son[Messiah] or were they to come to that conclusion themselves when they examined the prophecies that had been said about the Messiah? So you’re waiting for Jesus to come and SPEAK to you personally that those “old men” in Warwick, NY are his appointed slaves, right? I’ve got all the evidence I need that those “old men” are Christ’s brothers and I’m doing my possible best to support them by preaching about Jehovah and his Kingdom[Matthew 25:34-40] but I would never see myself as being opinionated so if you can’t come to your own conclusions that those “old men” were appointed by Jesus then no need for further debate because it’s by choice anyway to be a servant of Jehovah and an ardent follower of Jesus Christ. Joshua 24:15, Luke 14:27 |
MaxInDHouse:They are puzzled that more than 8.6million men and women around the globe subject themselves to 8 old men in Warwick, NY. Matthew 24:45-47 Even though those “old men” have accomplished a lot under Jesus’ supervision[Isaiah 2:2-4, Matthew 24:14, John 13:34-35, 17:14-16, Acts 1:8, 10:34-35], they do not care for the evidence just like their counterparts in the first century. John 9:1-41 Even the Jewish man who was blind but could then see could discern that Jesus had God’s backing. John 9:31-34 So even after all seeing all the evidence that points to Jesus working with those “old men” and they still reject them then no need to bother because if they[lawless goats] don’t speak abusively about Jehovah’s Witnesses, then something is definitely wrong somewhere. Luke 6:26, 1Peter 4:3,4 |
shadeyinka:Mr Sade please if we are talking about who measures on double standard between you and I, then I’d say you top the charts on this one. All the works that Jesus was doing bore witness that he actually originated with God[John 10:25] yet the Jews were still not satisfied instead they were still seeking signs[Matthew 16:1-4] and hoping that another Messiah would come and perform much more greater works than Jesus did. John 7:31 Due to the lack of their faith, Jesus made the best use of his time by shifting his attention to those who were receptive to his message in other cities. Mark 6:4-6, John 8:26 So indeed, Jesus did not need to worry himself but was convinced by his own principles that “Wisdom is proved righteous/vindicated by its works” Matthew 11:19, Luke 7:35 Jesus said that anyone would recognize those who truly belong to him when such one observes their fruits/works. Matthew 7:16-20 So since that is not enough for you, neither would you believe Jesus if he opens the heavens and tells you that those “old men” are actually his brothers. Luke 16:31 compare John 12:28-30 You still left one question hanging which I need you to attend to. “Where were all the so-called prophets and miraculous healers when COVID-19 was ravaging the entire world last year?” When ALL and I mean ALL of the churches held their usual “crossover” from 2019 to 2020, none of your Prophets could see the COVID-19 coming right? Instead they were “prophesying” as usual you that 2020 would be their year and so and so. Even after the virus spread, the miraculous powers of your healers somehow disappeared right? |
shadeyinka:Those “old men” are commissioned by Jesus Christ for the following reasons: 1. They are appointed as a “faithful and discreet slave” to fulfill what is recorded at Matthew 24:45-47 by providing spiritual food to the more than 120k congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide. So while the whole world is in spiritual darkness and hunger, Jehovah’s Witnesses still receive their daily and weekly doses of spiritual food from these “old men” and so we are always well fed spiritually whether pandemic or no pandemic. Isaiah 65:13, Matthew 4:4, John 6:27 2. There’s evidence that these “old men” were appointed by Jesus Christ because they’re spearheading the command at Matthew 24:14, 28:19-20, Acts 1:8 to preach the good news of God’s Kingdom to the distant part of the earth. Today, under the authority of God’s Son, this work has been organized in over 240 lands. Each member of the congregation sees it as his/her responsibility to always proclaim and declare the good news about Jehovah and his Kingdom while the angels are busy taking note of such individual efforts. Malachi 3:16-18, Hebrews 6:10 So whether pandemic or no pandemic, the good news of God’s Kingdom must be preached[by adapting to current circumstances of using virtual means] and Jehovah’s Witnesses are doing just that, with more than 8.6million of us worldwide who were active in the preaching work last year. 2Timothy 4:2 That’s what those “old men” have been able to accomplish under the authority of Jesus Christ. You can join us and support these “old men” in preaching the good news because there’s enough evidence that they’re Christ’s brothers and only those who give their support to Christ’s brothers will gain everlasting life[Matthew 25:34-40] or you can be amongst the lawless goats who choose to remain in spiritual blindness and refuse to give their support to Christ’s brothers while there is still time to do so. Matthew 25:41-46 *Don't forget that your organisation teach that spiritual gifts and calling had ceasedBy “spiritual gifts”, you mean gifts of healing, prophecy, tongues etc? Yeah those ones ceased long long loooong ago. 1Corinthians 13:8 Because if we are talking about “gifts in men”, then that’d be a totally different topic because Jesus Christ has appointed those “old men” as gifts to all of us because those “old men” are spiritually qualified to handle the responsibility given to them. Ephesians 4:8-11, 1Peter 5:2 So even though those “old men” have weighty duties and responsibilities, they are not the masters of our faith[2Corinthians 1:24] because that position “Master” belongs to Jehovah’s Son, Jesus Christ. Matthew 23:8-12 But you who believes that the “spiritual gifts” listed out in 1Corinthians 12:10 are still in use today, where was it when COVID-19 was approaching to ravage the entire earth last year? It’d be better you cut to the chase and let us know that you detest following Scriptural arrangement and laid-down principles and also adore lawlessness. Matthew 7:21-23 |
shadeyinka:Why did the newly baptised Christians in the first century subject themselves to the DOCTRINES of the apostles? Acts 2:42 Why did the APOSTLES AND OLDER MEN in Jerusalem have to make decisions for all the Christian congregations? Acts 15:6 What do you think would happen, if after those OLDER MEN made and passed off those decisions to the brotherhood, someone—maybe once a Pharisee but became a Christian—now still insists on the circumcision being important? Well he is on his own for disagreeing with those OLDER MEN [Acts 15:22] and will be labelled an apostate not having God’s backing if he breaks away to form his own group. Romans 16:17, 1Timothy 1:20 Jesus Christ himself being the head of the congregation[Colossians 1:18] appointed shepherds in the congregation. John 21:15-17, Acts 9:15 So ask yourself this. If you’re not subjecting yourself to those taking the lead in the congregation, can you really gain Jesus’ approval after seeing you have utter disregard for congregational order? Acts 20:28; Hebrews 13:7,17; 1Peter 5:2 |
haddeylium:I just left him the minute I noticed he had nothing upstairs that’s why he couldn’t add or subtract to any of the points I earlier made. And usually, shallow people with the least knowledge always are the most talkative. Talk is cheap! The demons also believe that God and Jesus exists. Luke 8:28, James 2:19 [Note that I’m not saying jnr should be classified as a ‘demon’] But what really makes him different from them if he’s not doing ANY of the things that Jesus commanded but always clamouring “Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord”? Luke 6:46 Actions speak louder than words! That’s why Jesus and his half brother James emphasized the need for action and adherence to instruction. Matthew 7:24-27, James 1:22-25 So for one to distinguish himself from the demons who also believe that God and Jesus exists, he must accompany his faith with works[action/deeds]. James 2:20-26 |
jesusjnr2020:The question has been answered thoroughly and in-depth. As my brother MaxInDHouse already stated, it’s not by force that you accept my answer after all you’re emptyheaded anyway so that’s why you have nothing to add or subtract from what I said. My own Jesus left a model that only Jehovah’s Witnesses are following ernestly[1Peter 2:21] meanwhile yours did not set any standards that’s why everyone of your kind is seeing all kinds of concocted dreams and visions, each one is hearing from his own “Holy Ghost” and “angels”, nobody is ready to submit to the other and so on. The religious “man of lawlessness” has actually been manifest amongst you people because you detest following laid down standards and principles. Matthew 7:21-23, 2Thess 2:3-8 |
jesusjnr2020:Okay so I see where the frustration is coming from. You want me to agree that we are both following the same Jesus, right? LOL! Pathetic! I’m here to tell you that my Jesus and your own are not the same in any way. Matthew 24:24 Your own permits you to keep shouting his name, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord, Lord x a million times with nothing to show for it My own requires that I continually prove myself to be his disciple. Luke 11:28, John 15:1-8 |
jesusjnr2020: DappaD:So even with the numerous and I mean numerous Scriptures quoted to support all that’s been said about Jesus’ INSTRUCTIONS, you still choose to remain adamantly blind. Your type prefers to keep on shouting LORD, LORD, LORD yet with nothing to show for it. Luke 6:46 As the saying goes, empty vessels make the most loudest of noises that’s why there’s absolutely nothing you can even say to counter any of the above points that have been made. That’s why you have been repeating the same question that has already been answered since yesterday to hide the fact that you’ve been defeated. Even sincere observers by now would be even wondering if something has gone wrong with your brain. All you need to do is humble yourself before Jehovah and maybe—just maybe—he will draw you to the truth. John 6:44, 1Peter 5:5 |
jesusjnr2020:Nobody is here to answer you YES sir or NO sir . You asked a question so you have to allow the other person express himself since there are no T&C’s. When Jesus was asked the question on what to do to gain everlasting life some times—although the straight and direct answer was to exercise faith in him and follow after him[Matthew 16:24, John 3:16, 6:40]—he usually tailored his answers to the current scenarios, even drawing attention to the Hebrew Scriptures so he wasn’t just a robot answering in one way. He allowed them to come to their conclusions on what was required of them. Matthew 19:16-22, Luke 10:25-28 |
jesusjnr2020:I said what you should be asking me is if I’m a witness for your Trinity which is a very big No. You and I have different opinions about who Jesus Christ is, so your question is convoluted. Someone who bears witness about someone or something, already has the assured expectation through diligent(thorough) investigation[Acts 17:2,11]—in this case, study of the Bible, which builds up someone’s faith that is based on real, convincing evidence. Hebrews 11:1 So basically before you can even think of witnessing about somebody or something, you must know and have all the facts and figures. When it comes to Jehovah’s Witnesses now, each one of them have the assured expectation through study of the Bible and are fully equipped/skilled to impart what they know to others[2Timothy 2:15], resulting a very fine witness about Jehovah God and his Son. Romans 10:13-15 At Acts 1:8, Jesus was speaking to Jewish men brought up in the Law so they already knew what it meant to be a witness for Jehovah. Isaiah 43:10-12 But since the old arrangement of the Law was no more effective[Ephesians 2:15] and since a new covenant was established, with Jesus as the mediator[Luke 22:28-30], they(his disciples) needed to follow Jesus Christ in order to approach Jehovah. Compare John 14:6 So that’s why Jesus said that his disciples are to witnesses of him since they were eyewitnesses of his death and resurrection. 1Corinthians 15:3-8 How would they give a sound witness to others about Jesus? 1. By following their Master’s earlier instructions by preaching from house to house in their locale. Matthew 10:11-13, Acts 5:42 Today, Jehovah’s Witnesses are following in the footsteps of Jesus and those early faithful Christians by going from house to house with their message, which results in a sound witness about Jesus Christ as Jehovah’s appointed King of the Kingdom he said we should preach to others about. Matthew 24:14, 28:19-20, Revelation 11:15 2. By their actions and conduct. Jesus told them that they could attract others to their message when they reflect the light in the message that they preach so that means that many would expect high moral standards for them which in turn gives a sound witness. Matthew 5:13-16, John 13:15 Today, Jehovah’s Witnesses are also following in the footsteps of Jesus and his early disciples by witnessing through conduct, actions and words. 1Peter 2:12 So that’s why many today expect high moral standards from Jehovah’s Witnesses because they are the only group who are truly representing i.e. witnessing through action about Jesus Christ. 1Peter 3:16, Hebrews 13:18 Actions and deeds speak way, way, way louder than words. That’s why I asked you earlier who truly witnesses about Jesus Christ through the actions listed below? 1. Preaching and teaching vehemently from the Bible about God’s Kingdom from house to house? So yes, Jehovah’s Witnesses speak[witness] about Jesus in the course of their preaching and also through action by letting others know the role Jesus has to play in all of God’s purposes[Daniel 7:13-14, John 5:22, 1Timothy 2:3-6, Revelation 19:11-16] but since he is not the Almighty God, Jehovah whom we primarily witness about[Isaiah 43:10-12], he doesn’t deserve the first place in our hearts, which he[Jesus] made clear to others[Deuteronomy 6:4-5 compare Matthew 22:37-39] and he also doesn’t deserve our worship which should go ONLY to Jehovah our God. Exodus 34:14, Deuteronomy 6:13 |
