6. (Matt 5:13-16) Doctrinally speaking, it's a picture of Israel throughout the church age, not the picture of JWs. From an inspirational perspective, the Christian is to be like salt. He is to make people thirsty for the truth, and his witnessing should have a bite to it (Col 4:6 kjv). He should live in such a way as to slow the decay of a rotting world. But unfortunately, JWs are not Christians. A Christian is a follower or a disciple of Christian, you follow Jehovah God.

Mr KJV, please who is the Most High according to Psalm 83:18? Is it not plainly written “JEHOVAH” in your KJV? Who is the Son(subordinate) of the Most High? Is it not Jesus? Luke 1:32, 1Corinthians 15:28

On the other hand, I can boldly say that the Watchtower and Awake books has had impact on not just the 8.6million Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide, but also on the millions studying with us, together with the other countless millions who enjoy reading our magazines because of the rich quality. Know that this is possible because Jehovah’s holy spirit is backing his earthly organization(Zechariah 4:6) so that’s why Jehovah’s Witnesses are indeed the salt of the earth because their own books preserve the spiritual health of the readers and are also the light of the world since their books are reflecting spiritual light from the Father of celestial lights. And the new testament clarified it.
Heb 11:5:

What else does this Scripture mean?

When Moses was 120 years old, he was still full of vigour and energy because God was with him so he did not experience the complications that came with old age and the agony of death because God took him and buried him in the Plains of Moab so that nobody could find his body. Deuteronomy 34:5-7

The same can be said in Enoch’s case, God did not allow him to pass through the agony and pains of death either naturally or from the hands of wicked men so God took him and nobody was able go locate his body just like in Moses’ case but neither of them went to heaven instead they returned to the dust of the earth. Genesis 3:19

Remember that when Paul wrote that when Adam sinned, he said that ALL his descendants became transgressors and death spread to ALL men and that includes Enoch.

3. Some say that the scribes may not have arranged the history in sequence especially considering that Elijah's going to heaven and the letter are in two different books.
4. Your position is that Elijah was only translated into another earthly location.
These are the propositions to resolving the problem of Elijah's letter.
Your position is the weakest in that it neither has any harmony with the understanding of the Jews not the fact that he is expected back in the future. Your argument must be consistent with other examples in the Scriptures

Should somebody also lecture you that the Bible records two distinct kings who bore the name “Jehoram” who were in fact related by law? The first one was Jehoram, son of Ahab who ruled over the northern kingdom ISRAEL for 12years and even ruled while Jehoshaphat was still alive. 2Kings 3:1

The second Jehoram was the son of Jehoshaphat who began ruling over the southern kingdom JUDAH but only AFTER his father’s death. This particular Jehoram ruled for 8years and during that period was when Elijah wrote to him long after Jehoram the son of Ahab had died. 2Chronicles 21:12

In fact the nature of the deaths of these persons bearing the same name was different. 2Kings 9:24, 2Chronicles 21:18-20

"And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him."
And the new testament clarified it

Does John 3:13 also resolve this

So the statement “God took him” now means that he went to heaven? Did you not realize that in Enoch’s time, wickedness had grown rapidly around the region and he was the only righteous man at the time before Noah came on the scene? Genesis 6:5
That’s why Enoch’s prophecy is recorded at Jude 14-15 that God would in time render judgment against that world of wicked mankind which in fact occurred during Noah’s day. 2Peter 2:5

So because Enoch was the only righteous person around, that prophecy at Jude 14-15 would have sparked controversy and anger amongst those wicked and bloodthirsty humans then that’s why God intervened and allowed him to die peacefully without those humans meting out torture to him that’s why his own life span was shorter than others. Genesis 5:23

How did we know that Enoch actually died? Because in the same Hebrews 11 you were so eager to quote, Paul mentions that ALL those faithful men and women of old DIED(Hebrews 11:13) so Jesus’ statement at John 3:13 still holds good.

Please are you now one of fundamentalists? I know of one here on NL—Kobojun.kie. They have the habit of making the Scriptures look absurd and illogical. Surely when Jesus made that statement he was referring to Malachi 4:5 so that his disciples could quickly grasp what was going on. The work of Elijah and JTB had similarities. 2Kings 1:8, Matthew 3:4

But John the Baptist was a Nazirite whereas there is no record to show that Elijah was one. Luke 1:15
So if JTB was truly Elijah, why did he not continue from where he stopped but instead became a Nazirite?

The presentation did suggest a parable like other parables you can qiuote it from any version and analyse. Why can anyone's knowledge on a subject matter be absolute. All of the biblical revelations would have been given to one person like Mohammad. But why did God allow piecemeal world's of prophecies over millennials and places. Prophecies and laid-down facts are two entirely different things.


1. Prophecies:

Concerning “sacred secrets” such as Genesis 3:15 which eventually spilled into a number of prophecies across the Bible, yes it shows that God allows a very significant amount of time to pass while he progressively reveals the details about his will and purpose. Ephesians 1:9
So the way God will explain details to one person may vary(i.e. including a number of new disclosed details) with the next such as in the case of Abraham and David but in every case, they must all be in harmony.

2. Laid-down Facts:

In terms of physical science, it’s already factual that at 100°C and 1atm, water will begin to boil and vaporize so this will never change.

At death, God said that Adam would return to nonexistence(Genesis 3:19). David and Solomon also shed more light on what happens at death. Psalm 146:4, Ecclesiastes 9:5-10
Jesus also said that at death, it’s as if one is in a deep dreamless sleep(John 11:11-14) so the fact about dead ones being unconscious and nonexistent did not change either. Death can only be reversed through a resurrection(John 5:28-29, Acts 24:15) so if death doesn’t end it all, what is the purpose of resurrection again?

Moreover, when God said Adam would return to the dust after committing a grievous offense, are you now saying that God’s knowledge was limited? Genesis 3:19

However, when I read about the issue of death and he'll in JWs publications, as pointed out by the two of you. I like to say this . Nowhere in OT was recorded about hell and punishment. Jesus first taught about it.

I know you may want to go and quote Mark 9:48 but it may shock you that Jesus was quoting from Isaiah 66:24 which states that those thrown into “Gehenna”, not some concocted and forged “hellfire”, would be dead bodies and not live ones.

Secondly, the writing of Solomon about death is not a complete knowledge to take as final authority.

Shortly after Solomon was made King over Israel, God appeared to him in a dream and said he could request anything he desired since he acted on David’s plea and remained steadfast in searching for God(1Chronicles 28:9), so Solomon eventually chose God-given wisdom(compare James 1:5) to be able to discern between good and bad, this time around from God’s standpoint. 1Kings 3:4-14
So it was evident from that point onward that holy spirit was working on Solomon that he could even record inspired proverbs that are regarded as “wisdom books” and respected by many who do not even believe in God.

Yes, Jesus is the Greater Solomon(Matthew 12:42) but Jesus must speak harmony with Solomon if he is to be regarded as sent from God. That’s why Ecclesiastes 9:5,6 ticks good with John 11:11-14.

He said also about being greater than the Temple in Jerusalem, today, the Temple is irrelevant to worship. He altered certain Mosaic Laws, desecrated the Sabbath and defendef His right to do so.

The temple in Jesus’ day was still regarded as the centre of pure worship that’s why Jesus was zealous in purifying the temple of greedy people. (Matthew 21:12-13), it wasn’t until Jesus’ death that service offered in that temple became unacceptable to God, that’s why the curtain shielding the Most Holy tore into two showing that God no longer had dealings with the temple. Luke 23:45

As for the Sabbath, Jesus did not “alter” the arrangement in that sense(Matthew 5:17). The Law and Prophets were meant to lead the Israelites to the Messiah(Deuteronomy 18:15a, Galatians 3:24) so when the Messiah comes, they must listen to whatever he says(Deuteronomy 18:15b) and not argue with him like the Pharisees did. Mark 2:24
Again, it was until after Jesus’ death that the Sabbath stopped being a religious observance.

So it’s not advisable to correlate views from an apocryphal book with that of the inspired Bible.

The earlier Jewish philosophers such as Philo tried to find a link between the book containing the Law and Prophets(Old Testament) and Grecian tales and we all know the wrong views most of them adopted as a result. Acts 17:18, 1Corinthians 15:32

The highlighted caught my attention because it baffles me a lot when people speak like this. I mean the first Christians in the Bible suffered intense persecution in the Roman Empire.

For your information, true Christianity started from 33C.E. and temporarily ended after 100C.E. so please do not assume that those bloodthirsty tyrants masquerading as Christians(Catholic Church) had anything to do with Christianity because Jesus, Paul, Peter all made it clear that true Christianity would vanish from the surface of the earth after the death of the major apostles in the first century(100C.E.)

WORLDWIDE, Jehovah’s Witnesses are known as law abiding citizens(Titus 3:1) and are generally peace-loving and respectful people.

This is like the persecution of gay people in Africa. I've always maintained that the discrimination you condone because it is doesn't affect you or because it favors you will render you voiceless when you become the target of another. Equality/tolerance can never be partial. Though I don't subscribe to the teaching of JW, if their activities don't harm people and don't obstruct justice, I see no reason why they should be jailed for it. People who celebrate this today would have nothing to hold on to when it's their turn to face oppression.

The major reason for the Witnesses being persecuted is because there are actually higher spirit forces out there who are trying their best to stamp out pure worship(Revelation 12:17) so the humans they’re using for the job are not really in control of themselves(Luke 23:34) and are just mere puppets in the hands of mightier spirit beings(demons). Ephesians 6:12
That’s why from the surface, the persecution that the Witnesses suffer doesn’t make sense to anybody because those humans who are intensely persecuting them are not acting on their impulse or minds but are simply being energized by Satan to do his own will.

The two major religions in the world, Islam and Christianity have love for fellow human beings as one of the pre-requisite to making heaven. Ironically, most of us don't practice what we preach.

In the Christian scripture, Jesus made it specifically clear that to make heaven, one must first, worship and adore the Only One True God with ALL OUR MIGHT, BELIEF AND STRENGTH.


Second, that we MUST LOVE OUR NEIGHBOURS AS WE LOVE OURSELVES!
The first command cannot be actualized if the second is not strictly observed otherwise your worship of God would be null and void if you cannot love your neighbours as you love yourselves, irrespective of TRIBE or RELIGION.
The problem with Nigeria today is the absence of tolerance and love for our neighbours irrespective of where they come from; their social background, religion, political affiliation or tribe must not be a hindrance to national integration.
The Amalgamation of the Northern and Southern Protectorates now called Nigeria, though some schools of thought may regard it as an error, may be God's design to ensure a United, strong and an egalitarian society that can stand as the "father of Africa". If we all regard ourselves as a one United entity, religion, tribe, sessional inclination would not be regarded.
Nigerians need orientation and and proper education on the essence of true Nationalism and religious tolerance to enable us build a just and an egalitarian society of our collective dreams! This is the time for a reform.

Generally there is nothing wrong with taking pictures as there are different reasons why people do so. Some take pictures to remember an event recently attended, some to share sweet memories with family and friends and to positively lift up the spirits and hearts of others(Proverbs 17:22) but some others with a wrong motive do so to incite jealousy(Galatians 5:26), to draw attention to themselves and achievements(Romans 12:3) and to show off their material possessions.
