JBRichard:Bro, I be naija na. I no dey those two countries wey I mention. There is no need to drop contact since I am not even in those two profession. Just sharing the little knowledge I have regarding to them. The same way it is not possible to do Msc and PhD using HND certificate in Nigeria is same way you cannot use school of nursing certificate for academic progression in those two countries. NB: If you did your nursing program in the university in Nigeria, there is no need for the conversion in UK. Just use the certificate to apply for Msc in nursing if you wish. (if the person graduated with poor result is another thing altogether). |
Calitoscassius: Good development then. ![]() |
Calitoscassius: Na wah. That is baby mama to the highest level. Anyway, hope the country would be open up for tourism? |
Calitoscassius:As for the bolded, correct. Women matter for UK seems complicated sha. Try and stay off their wahala sha. Na for UK you dey abi US? |
Calitoscassius:Nothing bro other than for learning purposes. It is well acknowledged all over the world that ignorance is not an excuse in the law court. As for the braces, it is possible. As for the fake id, being safe is better than unnecessary arguments with law officers. |
seunny4lif:Hmmmm, very unfortunate. Yeah, it was on nairaland that the brace comment came up. The guy even use pidgin to narrate how his friend could have entered wahala if not for him. He advised all nairalanders both those planning to relocate or those already living in Abroad to avoid them like plague. Your confirmation is good for those following this thread. |
seunny4lif:Ahhhh, so bad, but thank God you have overcome that stage. All experience are part of what makes us stronger since it didn't destroy us. |
OGAPARIS:Exactly my point bro. |
seunny4lif:It might be, but they should do something about it sha. The videos I saw on YouTube was actually filled with drug addicts and 'health challenged people' in one of the streets showing people that are homeless. Do you live in the States? |
seunny4lif:Yes, the video I watched (which is on this thread) never mentioned about the girl being in school uniform. I assumed he met her on mall or park or something like that and collected her phone number. When he chatted her up and learnt about her age (though it was the father that he was chatting), he should have apologised to her and cut her off. Delete her phone number and block her. For him to continue the chat is were he got it all wrong. I saw about your comment on some of them giving fake ID on clubs and bars. If you don't mind, you can give information on how to recognise some of them for those living over there and avoid majority of this trap. A nairalander once said, any woman wearing teeth brace is most likely a teenager and should be avoided at all cost as an African. |
JeffreyJunior:Lol, it is not easy. I heard that, california has the highest level of homeless people in the whole of US. |
seunny4lif:It seems like you have comprehension problem. The first paragraph stated exactly what he could have done when the girl informed him about her age on WhatsApp (I can bet my left leg you didn't watch the video otherwise you would have come across the 'age chat' between them). That is what a proper thing to do since he didn't ask her from the first time they met and he got her number. My second paragraph is my suggestions on different ways he could have solved his sexual needs rather than towing this part of shame. Which of my statements did you not understand or did you think I was encouraging him? Brother man, the proper thing to do is to ask a lady her age whether as a first question or later. Her reply will determine the direction of your relationship with her.... less than 18-20 years, cut her off even if she gives you all the green light on this world. Above that, you can decide to proceed or not. Please, try and read before joining the bandwagon in criticism. Peace. |
JeffreyJunior:I don't know how it works over there. You know, in Nigeria, things works differently. It was on nairaland that I read about a lecturer that was caught red handed (I think) for sexual harassment of a student, being reinstated into the lecturing job after apologies and showing remorse. ![]() To be honest, I do hope he survive it if going by what you listed is actually what he will lose just for this singular act. That reminds me, it is possible that, this is his first time, and he got caught. A quoran once said that, most American president cheat on their wives with some being play boys without being caught. Immediately, President Clinton tried to do his, he was caught at first trial which ended up costing him his seat as a president. |
Designnerd:Super legalise at Polish embassy in Accra Ghana. Most of these embassies has connections with schools in their respective region of establishment. It is easier for the embassy in Ghana to verify documents than the one in Nigeria to do same for someone who schooled in Ghana. If you want to follow Nigerian route, they will still need to send your documents to embassy in Ghana (that is, if they will even agree to accept your documents from you), the embassy in Ghana does the verification of the authenticated documents and legalised it before sending it back to Nigeria. All in all, location where the school is domiciled in, the embassy in that location is in charge of legalisation of documents. The only exception could be, if few countries share one embassy location (for example, Nigeria, Ghana, and other West African countries having access to one Canadian embassy) |
buchilino:I don't know what most of you are writing ![]() Did you watch the video? Did you see the WhatsApp chat between them where the girl told him her age? Did you saw her comment where she said that she hoped the man will stop chatting her due to her age which the man refused? Did you listened to the comment of the girl's father? Bro, stop trying to embarrass yourself with that comment. |
Lexusgs430:Pretty bad. An unfortunate situation for him. |
The way the devil destroy some people self erh, it is annoying. He could have tendered his apology when he learnt about the age of the girl and stop chatting her. He could have gone to bar on Friday night to chat up a lady and take her home since he is trying to get layed. Alternatively, he could have 'rented' a 'woman of easy virtue' for few hours. All these solutions would have prevented him from falling into this trap. May he find peace and probably not lose his job in UK. |
Designnerd:Did you school in Ghana? If yes, you will need to authenticate your documents at the Ghanaian ministry of education and ministry of foreign affairs. Over there, the Polish embassy will verify it from the institution before Super legalising your documents. There is no shortcut to it. |
JBRichard:The conversion is little complicated. I don't have deeper knowledge on it, but on the lay man level, it means taking some courses (commonly called topping) to qualify for degree certificate. It is common in UK and US. Don't know if same is obtainable in Canada, New Zealand and Australia. It works this way. You did nursing in school of nursing in Nigeria. Later you relocated to UK and wishes to acquire Bachelor of nursing degree (B.Sc nursing) to improve your earning power (Owo or kudi) in UK as well as career growth. Over there in UK, B.sc nursing degree is a 3 years course. Since you already had, nursing certificate from Nigeria, you can be able to transfer majority of the courses you took while in Nigeria to the UK school which reduces the number of years you are supposed to spend in the school to one year. That is, you will graduate after one year in UK university rather than the mandatory 3 years you are supposed to spend. For US own, it is similar though common for switching from nursing to medical doctor profession. Rather than the mandatory 5 years to spend in order to become a medical doctor, you could end up spending around 2 - 3 years (I think). The beauty of the whole thing is you go at your pace while still working in your field. In Nigeria, it is similar to HND to Bsc direct entry. Summary of the whole point is that, medical doctor profession is not easy and most people do burn out before completing the program. Nursing is not too difficult, but it is easier to enter and complete the program without burning out (except if the person has not worked in service industry or hate the service industry.... service industry like waiter, bar man, support assistant in financial industry, secretary, even as a carer of elderly family members in Nigeria when sick or couldn't walk without help etc). Conversion from Nursing degree certificate obtain from school of nursing in Nigeria to B.sc degree certificate is faster and easier in UK than USA. Conversion from Nursing profession to Medical profession is faster in USA than in the UK. Salary is higher in USA than in the UK for both profession while it is easier to migrate from Nigeria to UK as a nurse practitioner than to USA within same time frame. Sorry for the long epistle of John of Jersey ![]() |
Sangre: Lol, life imprisonment is extreme. I strongly believe that, once he is out, he would have learnt his lessons which will include: 1. Drinking in moderation (or staying off acohol entirely) 2. Learning how to forget some things especially women matter (since there is many women out there who he could have approached for friendship or relationship) 3. Staying away from bad influencing friends (There is no harm in his ship sailing alone so far that, he reaches his destination safely, that is graduation and getting good job than trying to sail with a friend in same ship which will end up capsizing due to different direction of ship destination). Lastly, nothing last forever. |
Go for nursing like your mum said. Faster and a professional course. When you start working, you can do medicine if the passion is there. More better option, do nursing, work for two years in Nigeria and travel to UK under work visa (by getting nursing job in UK and moving). You can do conversion to medicine over there. My own personal suggestion. Do personal reflection and decide on yourself the best option to take. |
Christistruth00:Bro, the case happened in middle East (Turkish Cyprus I presume). There is nothing like begging, and moreover, it is not Nigeria where there is Quota system court system and circumvention. The guy is going to spend years behind bars. When done with it, deportation follows next. The same Turkish cyproit woman which he is fighting this guy for (most likely) has dumped him. |
27 years over murder and woman matter? I pity their parents sha. |
temitope27:You mean, Nigerians being beggers in the land of opportunities? |
That is why I liked North Koreans or China. By now, the full details of the voice conversation between all parties would have been in public domain. |
In this life, nothing demeans a man than being in debt. You are at the mercy of your creditors, and same time lose your dignity, respect and honour as a man in the society. May all men try to stay out of debt and live within their means. That you survived on less than 100 dollars monthly salary does not mean you will be at that level forever. Nothing is permanent. It is better to grow gradually than for someone to put himself in debt. Bro, it is well. Try and pay off the debt and recover your dignity. If you are working, you can schedule deduction of your part payment for the debt from your account automatically. This way, you will manage with whatever remain till you pay all debts off. |
amanze54:Yes, but it still need the person to master the polish language to some extent if the person want citizenship. For permanent residence, I don't think the passing of language exams is necessary (no idea). I think, meeting the minimum number of years to live in the country while paying taxes should qualify the person. Not a Dr sha ![]() Just a fellow Nigerian striving hard to enter country where things works, and where hardwork is rewarded. ![]() |
Note: These points of mine is as a result of following both thread and personal knowledge acquired about the two countries at different point in my life. I have never lived in any or both countries, but still able to get such information through research. Always remember, knowledge is power. Knowing some things without it application at the moment does not mean such knowledge would not be important in the future. That has been part of my guiding principle. Trying to acquire knowledge and know something of everything just like Aristotle always preached. |
amanze54:Based on my observation, the benefits include: 1. The cost of schooling is extremely cheap compared to UK. 2. The ability to travel within the schengen zone. That is, visit other countries in EU and schengen easily (schengen is around 25 countries visa free). 3. The ability to pay your school fees in installments for some schools. 4. Ability to secure menial jobs like factory work or English teaching in some cities though salaries are low. 5. Low cost of living with high standard of living compared to UK. (Low cost of living means feeding, accommodation, transportation etc are very cheap when compared to UK. The standard of living among the 2 countries are almost same.) 6. Ability to transit to UK or North American continent easily (of course, through application of visa for those countries. For UK, hardly hear about people making such transition to America or Canada. People are comfortable in UK). 7. Most importantly, ability to navigate your way towards getting another EU passport (citizenship) after some years (irrespective of the work you do in Poland or the salary scale... though should not be beyond minimum wage) in direct comparison with UK where they expect you to get work in shortage skills field as well as maintain a given minimum yearly wage to be able to qualify for permanent residence after few years... presumably 5yrs. (it is commonly called indefinite leave to remain. As for citizenship, no idea how that works over there) On the other hand, the biggest disadvantage is the salary scale among some jobs in both countries. For example, Nursing profession, the salary scale is huge among Poland and UK. A year salary for a nurse in UK might end up being 3 years salary (minimum) for someone who is working in Poland. When juxtaposed with Nigeria, Poland is far better when it comes to salary in same nursing profession. Also, language challenge is another big turn off in Poland. It happens to be among the difficult language to learn among all EU countries. Fortunately, in most major cities, the young ones could be able to speak English and hold conversations in medium level. |
“Ironically, stakeholders who believed in the practice of polygamy (polygyny) were opposed to the practice of polyandry,” commented the department. ![]() An average African man would never subscribe to Polyandry whatever. It is alien to African culture. ![]() |
