He would have been shot dead in Nigeria especially if he's looking rich.
True if he is British ( with black origin) but on the long run, Nigerian police tends to respect foreigners more than we citizens living inside the country with them.

You hardly hear of such treatment melted out to other foreigners (but they rather hold umbrella, open car doors, carry handbag etc) but once you are black and your intonation has Nigerian written all over it, forget it, they must try to oppress you

The Spanish policeman gave the British lad a very dirty slap and that was a shocker to him. He wasn't expecting it as no Police officer in the UK would dare to do that even in the face of being taunted. He quickly realised that this was not the UK and walked away and that was it.
grin grin grin shocked shocked grin

The British lad should thank his forefathers that it was not even in Nigeria. Otherwise, the appropriate right mode should have been 2 dirty slap cheesy

Anyway, he learnt a very valid lesson about respecting other people's culture and being responsible when outside his home.

You can go the Microsoft route, very easy to get a job. Microsoft 365, active directory, sql server, Azure.....

The starting pay is low, but you can grow very fast if you're hard working...starting from the Fundamentals along with A+ and Network+ (IT hardware and network respectively) you are good to go.

Just do your thorough research.
Thank you bro, would check out this suggestion also. No knowledge is a waste.

Thank you n welcome...

Follow follow no good o, find your strengths and stick to it. Not everyone will end up as an IT professional (even faang get customer service dept, are they also working in IT?).

What's your background in?

Electronics is another very good field close to 'IT' whose meaning is subjective based on who you ask what an IT career is.

Go to some career sites of companies you have under your radar, look up sought for skills to fill roles you like, then work towards building those skills.
This system works for me as I pick the largest 10 to 30 companies in my line and digest their career pages - some skills are common across the board and some skills set you apart from every other applicant and I am building those skills.
I will check out some of your suggestions. My background is also engineering (Agriculture) so thinking of delving into IT since most Jobs and applications is moving in that direction.

To the thread owner, thank you for the wealth of information which you have shared so far. Just like other threads in Travel section, I have gain one or two useful information. Please my question is this:

Apart from Networking that seems relatively easy to learn (but difficult to enter), which other field of IT that might pay modestly and easy to learn? If possible, non programming (heavily) based IT course.

I already tried learning programming (self study) but it is not easy. As for data science, I am going to brush up my knowledge on excel first before anything else but kept it in view.

Any other IT knowledgable person can still answer my question.

Seriously, I don't know who to side in this matter, they are both right and wrong.
The mall owner is wrong.

Like the man said, he is in Africa and you can't tell him not to dress in his African attire. What of small white people that wear only bra and pants (with a transparent top which reach their thigh) to visit same mall? They always claim harsh weather ba?

That incident is a summary of most South African inferiority complex. Anything white is good to do whatever they feel like but blacks, hatred and xenophobia will be directed towards them. (Just like animal farm, two legs good, four legs bad)

Sure.

I was watching CNN at work place today , they were talking about the matter, and the presenter said about 30% of Global goods passes through that same route just imagine what will happen if that ship stays there for weeks.
True, there are plans to divert and re-routes subsequent ships' movement through Africa rather than queuing up. I do believe that, it would be sorted out though don't know how long it will take.

Stay safe.

Politics › Re: How Boko Haram Terrorists Rape Women, Girls In Nigeria - Amnesty International by DAramis: 3:03pm On Mar 24, 2021
It was once stated (allegedly) by an influencial person that A dead terrorist is the only repentant terrorist but some people prefer to grant them amnesty and financial support.

To them, that is the right thing to do even when they know that the chances of such terrorist abandoning the amnesty and re-joining their terror group is very high.

Well, all man to himself and God for us all. Terrorism was once an unknown thing in Nigeria but right now, it has become so common that, an average Nigerian sees it as a standard way of life. Most would even react faster if it is heard that 2 people died of malaria in Nigeria than when over 50 people are killed by terrorist.

(a) The right of ownership of institutions. Proprietors still retain the greatest of proprietory rights namely, ownership of their grants aided institutions. It should be noted that the existence of the Board will in no way detract from this.

(b) The names of schools remain as given by proprietors.

(c ) Religious orientation and practices in the schools remain generally undisturbed.

The summary of the article if it is actually true. No 3 point summarises everything and should have brought closure to this whole issue.

Over and out.
