I don't subscribe to that hypothesis that one portion of this nation is parasitic. For all the backwardness attributed to Northern Nigeria, that's where our food comes from. Someone pointed out blindly once, that SE and ND can import food from Cameroon, Benin Rep and even Japan- as long as they have crude. At what cost? When you begin to exchange a major export for food to survive, you know you're a nation walking the tight rope of disaster. I only chuckle when I read arguments of those that think crude oil is the answer to all their ills.

1. As a result of their actions, there will be no power. This affects health institutions who attend to innocent people. Most will die.
2. The oil spills and eventual environmental degradation affects the land, water and even air in the local communities, where innocents live.
3. The natural habitat and ecosystem of flora and fauna in the ND is affected. Innocents live off the land. Fish can't swim in crude.
4. In my area, there hasn't been power for about a week. I buy fuel at cut throat prices to run a generator for my home. Some innocents cannot earn a living without this electricity, and they cannot afford fuel.

In essence, this is a war that has far more drawbacks than advantages. I don't see ANY wisdom in ruining your land and impoverishing the innocent people you claim to be "emancipating". But then, NONE of us lives there na, so who gives a damn?

Graduates don't go to university or polytechnic to learn how to speak good english. This is pure african mentality, many indians guru out there went to the best Universities and can't even speak good English but they work in reputable organizations all over the world. You want to know why? It's because spoken language doesn't matter but how well you can contribute to an organization or the world at large.

This is not entirely correct, and this sort of example is precisely why Nigerian graduates are largely unemployable. The Indians I have encountered in reputable firms do speak decent English language, though heavily accented. Don't kid yourself with that victim mentality of 'English is not my mother tongue', or you will stay long and frustrated in the Nigerian unemployment market. Well I have a 2004 Acura TL, Manual six speed Transmission, with Navigation. It's an awesome machine to drive, plus it looks good! I can't give you info on the transmission since mine is manual though, but I've never had any electrical issues or faults. So unless someone's already tampered with the wiring and stuff, you won't have a problem. Have you wondered about the Business Men and Women who rely on Forex to do business? I am not speaking about boutique business, I am talking of Manufacturing and the likes that involve purchase of Raw Materials from overseas to function?

Businesses will no doubt be affected, but mostly SMEs and 'mom and pop' setups. I doubt any serious business that imports raw materials for manufacturing purposes will rely on a debit card primarily to fund it's operations. This is what letters of credit, Forms M and Forms A are designated for. The way i see it, allocate scarce forex to critical sectors to keep them running, at least. Even fees and medical bills can be offset with Form A. The vast majority of us use our forex for luxury goods and holidaying, which is not illegal by the way, but just not top priority either.

The bulk of the academic staff in this institution are non-northerners, mostly southwest if you must know. And some of their northern staff I know will school you silly in their respective disciplines. Improve your argument and quit stereotyping; It has nothing with being Yoruba, Hausa or Ibo.

This is the part i like the most. Most banks stocked machine with unfit notes and will not allow you deposit same into thier ATM that received cash on deposit.

Banks do not print notes that are loaded into their ATMs, they obtain same from CBN. Now the photo i've attached is what a bank received from CBN to use for its' operations, including ATMs obviously. CBN seals the cash in those polythene packs despite them looking like what the cat dragged in, and expects banks to do "Abracadabra" and dispense MINT or ATM fit notes
Banks will keep loading what CBN gives them to run their daily operations with.

As with other investments, you must NEVER put all your eggs in one basket. Not all banks will be affected as badly as others; Some banks have a healthy mix of deposits (liabilities) whilst others (We ALL know them ) depend largely on government and public sector funds.
Banks in Nigeria have largely been one-way businesses: Take from government, giving low rates and lend to the public at premium rates.
Now that government funds are not the bonanza they used to be, perhaps banks will look at sectors that critically need funding and investments to scale up or succeed, and actually support these businesses for a change. Blaming the job losses (esp in the private sector) on Buhari is just plain lame as these are profit making entities, not NGOs. If they cannot increase profits or even break even, they have to reduce wastes and cut costs.
