@demmydems
what city are you in poland?
what is living conditions like for students,ie how much can you surive on for a month(accomodation and feeding) minimum?
do you have an idea of krakow?
poland, finland or estonia which would you recommend?
would really appreciate your reply as i am considering coming to poland for my masters so i really need to make my mind up.
Thanks

First choice will be Finland; best economy amongst all the countries you mentioned, but cost of living is also the highest.

Poland will come second, healthiest of the post-Communist countries in terms of economy and is currently one of the fastest growing within the EU.Wages are still not the best but also cost of living is not high.

Estonia:i haven't been to Estonia before, but i have been to Russia,Latvia,Lithuania and Ukraine. These countries are still close to foreigners,Poland will be a better choice.

demmydens has pretty much summed everything up,that is exactly how it is,things are not that expensive in Poland compared to other EU countries likewise wages are lower.Krakow is a very beautiful city with lots of foreigners Nigerians inclusive, and in summer,it is typical to have English speaking foreigners all over Krakow especially the city center.
Another nice city in Poland is Poznan, lots of Universities and lots of foreigners as well.Make sure you have enough money to take you through the first year and try learn the language as fast as you can,i believe by the time you pick the language things will be easier for you. Most Nigerians i know in Poland are either teaching English as a foreign Language or into business, since it is a shengen state, you can always travel around shengen (Germany for cars and spare parts,Paris for perfumes,Milan for clothes etc) and you know how imported stuffs sell in naija once you have the connections.
So i will say,if you can afford it,go for it but please if you do not have enough money to take you through at least one whole year,it is better you stay back and save more. All the best.

Why are so many people neglecting Russia as if Russia is that so bad? I have been here for more than 2 years without skin-head or anything or racist like I heard before coming down here. But we Nigerians we over do things. We need to check ourselves before saying a country is bad or skin-head.

i trade live with  FXDD and alpari.Trading involves discipline.Never bet more than 2 to 3% of your account on a trade,Forex is not an ATM.understand what you are trying to trade.Demo this system for as long as it takes for you to be comfortable with it.Plan your trade and trade your plan.
forex is just like an hobby to me(at least for now),i do it for fun not really for the money. And i can afford to lose my whole investment without any impact on my standard of living, therefore i trade without emotion  grin.

THINK
If there is
"less competition hence higher probability of admission"
That means people do not want to go there
WHY
Bad education?
Poor results?
No reputation?
Employers will not accept qualification.
If you buy the cheapest do not complain when you get rubbish!

That is why i asked him to be specific about his question, the question cannot be answered unless we have an idea what the OP think is 'which school is best to apply to' he must give us a guideline to work with. Some people actually prefer less competition hence higher probability of admission grin, but i agree with you,if you buy cheap,do not complain when you get rubbish, grin

Really!! na waooo!! things don change for that country oo ,i remember i opened dom account with UBA way back in 2006 and was able to do a transfer the next day

Students that travel to work in other shengen countries during holidays do have people over there to host and link them up,it will be extremely hard for you to get any kind of holiday job in Norway without knowing someone over there.Cost of living in Norway is extremely high, even if you end up getting a job,you might not be able to save anything meaningful since you will also have to pay for accommodation.
Why don’t you try  ‘work and travel USA program”? There are loads of agents all over Poland recruiting students yearly for this, and the package comes with accommodation and paid summer jobs in USA .

I want to send 50euros (application fee) to a polish university. I will like to know if this is possible because GT bank told me that they have a policy of sending a minimum of 100 dollars therefore my transfer can't go through because the application fee is not up to 100dollars. I don't know what to do next because there is no other means of payment to the school. Can SOMEONE ADVICE ME ON WHAT TO DO

You should be able to do this with a domiciliary account, check other banks with such account,it shouldn't be a problem.

Hello NLs,

I am in a dilemma,I got 2  masters degree (computer science)admission to Canada and Norway university starting in September and August respectively.
I am having hard time to choose my destination, interns of getting PR , better life and post graduate work after my studies.
I am also a football player,so am looking at the possibility of playing football for money too after or during my studies.
please, for any NL in here who is any of this country, let me hear your suggestion on which way to go and why,
God bless

Canada is better if you are considering getting a PR but In Canada, you pay tution fee, while in Norway, you pay no tuition fee.If you can afford it,i will advice you to go to Canada.Norway is a great country no doubt, but not as diverse as Canada and moreover,it will be hard for you initially since you do not speak Norwegian.

We mounted 385 pcs of blocks today to form the block works, pictures will follow later. The expenses is like this
brick layers, N20 per block x 385 = 7700.00
labourers 2 boys x N1000 = N2000.00
water N1000
sand filter N500.00
N11,200.00 + N624,850.00
= N636,050.00 as total money spent.
I will attach the block laying pics as soon as I can.

Great job you are doing, waiting for the pics smiley

@Elsafema My friend, dont despair at all! YOU DONT KNOW YOUR LEVEL AT ALL but l will share "your level" with you now.

First , let me state that all the people building this 10M naira houses did not "win jackpot" grin Most labored hard and sweated hard!

Again, let me add that "Savings is not money you HAVE LEFT, after ALL expenses are met"! SAVINGS IS THE FIRST MONEY YOU PUT ASIDE BEFORE ANY EXPENSE IS SETTLED"! (I read that somewhere, am not exactly sure now, maybe What Rich  people Teach their kids that the poor dont)

Having said the above, l know peeps with wife and at least two kids, who live on a salary of 40K/month! Some "Teachers" still do! shocked
Their standard of living might be "comparably low" but at least, they cut their coat according to their cloth.

Now, imagine if you could "cut down" on ALL non-essential expenses and live like your salary was actually 40K/Month?
That means you will be having a savings of 40K/month!; almost half a million/year!
NOT EASY, REQUIRES EXTREME DISCIPLINE, might even imply postponing having more than one or two children (though income may/do rise as we progress in life sha)

THIS IS "YOUR LEVEL": Someone with half-a-million naira in savings within one year! How does that sound? Do you think you wont be able to join these "Landlords in less than 3-5years? YES, you would.

Again, you might just put the first 500K in a savings account (healthy bank pls) that yields 15%/annum and take it out to buy land after the second year! You can even arrange to pay for the land in "installments" - say 40K monthly! Land can still be bought for 500K at Ikorodu, in Lagos  wink

Now, Any form of Owambe (Naming, Burial, Age-grade), Aso-ebi, Beer-Parlor, Isi-Ewuu and "Aaristo activities", e.t.c must be off-limits for you grin grin
And avoid churches were the Pastor will love-vendor you of your money in the name of some "miracle jackpot" deliverance service! You will only end up loosing the little you have (,,,,,,,,,,and it shall be taken from those who do not have (the foolish ones), and given to those who have (the smart ones) grin shocked )

And you have to keep repeating and telling yurself that you will build a house, sleep it, dream it and live it. Remain focused.
Pray to God also, for "inner, spiritual strength" so that "unexpected expenses" will not remember your address grin
Its not a question of "if", it is a question of "when" you will come here and tell us about price of Cement, nails and Iron bender grin

I wish you luck and God's grace

Good one,God bless you my bro!i am loving this thread more and more.I stay tuned smiley

Penthouse is a structure on the roof of a building. These structures do not occupy the entire roof deck,it usually takes up less than half of the roof.
in terms of bungalow, think of it as a bungalow with some part higher(i.e some parts have upstairs),you may decide to make your penthouse only one room, two rooms, one room and a living room etc. and yes there will be staircase linking the bungalow to the penthouse just like a duplex,so that when you are in some part of the bungalow(the part with penthouse) you feel you are in a duplex.
