The thing is sometimes the family may have a reason or two for their stance but most times they are not good enough reasons
I think you can do one of two things here Go against your family and go ahead with the marriage Or bow to their pressure
Just know that there will be consequences any of decision you take and maybe rewards But families can be wrong. |

Romance › Re: DEAR BROKE GUYS! by davidif: 1:49am On Aug 04, 2017 |
Amarabae: A LETTER TO THE BROKE GUYS. . - Greetings all! I will like to briefly to thank all who wished me a Happy Birthday yesterday. Thank you my Darlings. *kisses* - Back to my main subject, THE BROKE GUYS. I have noticed that one of the most frustrating moments in a man's life is when he is broke! This era of financial scarcity always leave many men with feeling of emptiness, No wonder the sighting of that word "BROKE" always touches the nerve in many guys, no wonder the insults, bullying and aggressiveness they exhibit as a response to any thread that is dedicated to such a dreaded word. - NOW Broke Guys listen, let me give you a bit of advice.. - Every woman dream of a comfortable future, a future where even if she is not been treated like a queen, atleast she will not be a slave. Most ladies grew up and saw the financial difficuly and suffering their mothers went through in the name of marriage and thereby took a resolution not to be part of that fate. So before you blame them for rejecting you as a broke guy, remember this. 1. Being broken is NOT a permanent situation, work hard to change the status. 2. Even if you are an unemployed graduate, you can raise a capital and move into business. - FINANCIAL STABILITY AND SECURITY is an Important Requirement many women look at including me. How can you expect a girl to reject a rich guy for you that live in a public yard and earn below #30,000 monthly? The girl may really love you but she need a partner who is Financially stable, Many ladies are not looking for a Dangote kind of guy but a Hardworking Financially Stable Guy. and I see nothing wrong in that. He may not have his own house, atleast let him afford a 1 or 2-bedroom flat. He may not have a murano or quest, atleast let him afford a mercedes even if it is old model. Women just want to be comfortable. So Mr Broke guy, Why not focus on improving your financial status instead? From #30,000, aim to be getting atleast up to #70,000 and above, monthly. From Public yard, aim at living in a comfortable apartment. - No woman want to suffer, YES the woman may have a good job or business, but she need an equal or higher earner than her as a partner. You get the drift?. ALSO. Some Broke Guys are LAZY in nature! Women do appreciate hardworking guys, we do. But the lazy type! Hush. There are many unemployed graduate who love staying indoors, sleeping and always online looking for a girl to bully. Why are such guys suprised at being broke? They are proud and lazy to humble themselves and learn an income earning skill. Tomorrow, these are guys who will be calling girls "GOLD DIGGERS" for rejecting their lazy azz. - Dear broke guy, Wake up, Work hard to improve your financial status, Go and learn an income earning Skill, they are many out there to learn from. My Final point is that a guy should be financial stable first before thinking of a serious relationship or marriage. OK. Broke is not permanent to a hard working guy. LOVE YOU ALL. Thank you. Can someone please explain all these "broke this, broke that" nonsense that some nigerians like saying. Its really amusing and absurd at the same time. Its as if so called "broke" people are a different species or something. Watching some Nigerians calling their fellow Nigerians broke is like a beggar looking down on another beggar because he got the biggest crumbs today. In case most Nigerians didn't know, Nigeria is ranked as one of the poorest nations in the world with over 60% of the population live on less than $ 2.00 dollars a day yet you would see Nigerians bragging and looking down on other Nigerians who are less fortunate than they are and call them "broke" when they themselves are either just as "broke" or just marginally well off. It's like someone making 4 dollars a day looking down on someone making 2 dollars a day. It's so ridiculous it's not even funny. Talk about ignorance, vanity, elitism and snobbery mixed up together. In developed countries like the US you hardly hear the white folks make fun of people because of their socio economic status but its amongst the blacks that the mentality is prevalent. Not to talk of Nigeria, one of the poorest nations in the world where the majority is wallowing in poverty another person would come and be looking down on his fellow man in the struggle and calling them broke just because he managed to get in line ahead of his colleagues this time to get crumbs that fall from the table. Animal kingdom mentality at its worst. Humble yourself before circumstances humble you. On another note, with all this fascination about "broke guys" why don't we hear topics about broke girls? Why must it be the guy that people refer to as broke? I hardly come on here and hear anything about broke females, it's always the guy. As if the economic situation in this country is different for men and women. Are they not all in the same boat? |

stanech: We are talking about 10trillion here man 10 trillion in just 8years Do you even know how the debt works? Majority of America's debt is from within not from outside creditors for goodness sakes and as long as you have a growing economy and are able to service it then that's fine. Do you even know much about macro economics. https://www.thebalance.com/who-owns-the-u-s-national-debt-3306124 |
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Lounge - Donald Trump Is US President-Elect ! by davidif: 7:24pm On Jul 30, 2017 |
stanech: This talk about Obama saving the US economy is bulls-crap. For petes sake the guy borrowed more money than previous presidents combined. The real saving of the economy is happening under Trump and all these jobs and real growth you are seeing under Trump was a result of him rolling back Obama's anti-business policies most through exec orders..
As for his party members most of them were against him from the beginning so it is not any surprise here.. what is surprising is that some of these idiots will go as far as trowing the whole country under the bus just to get back at him. Every President borrows money for goodness sakes so what are you talking about? There is nothing wrong with debt as it is sustainable and less than GDP. Obama saved the financial system from collapse by ejecting emergency funds into the system. And as a result of this, he was able to stabilize the financial system and the American economy as a whole so I don't know what you are talking about. If not for Obama bailing the auto industry I probably won't have had my first job cos the big three automakers where big time clients of my employers. |

At this stage in Obama's presidency he had already passed TARP, his economic stimulus package, the Dodd Frank Act (Wall Street reform), oh and they were already working on the affordable care act. The guy in office right now can't even keep his party united and is barely b able to get aanything any legislation done despite having the house and the Senate!!! |

davidodiba: Downsize further? I am sure you are gainfully employed. So you do not even have a little feeling for the suffering graduate and masses. I am not trying to be cruel bro I am just saying that Nigeria is spending between 40% - 60% of its GNP paying politicians and govt workers and that the money will be better off well spent elsewhere. To show you how ridiculous it is, the country is even borrowing to pay salaries. Doesn't that show that the bureacracy is overstaffed already? One must cut his cloth according to size. In the private sector when economic conditions start getting tight they start downsizing. On the other hand in the public sector in nigeria, they continue to hire more ministers, assistants and aide de camps. If you think I am lying, my friend visited a federal ministry some years back and said that he saw workers trooping in to work around 11am. Staying briefly at work and leaving for the day while some just slept their entire shift. Talk about lack of productivity and inefficiency. Abeg, the Nigerian people deserve better. |

I know how many ppl donated to buhari campaign with recharge cards. not to talk of branded merchandise.a nobody cannot win. you have to have name recognition otherwise you must be represented by the already recognised names. stand on giant shoulders or build from the ground up. the question is, what have you built. are you a pastor, a Soyinka, a gani, an Abiola, a dangote or just a grammar speaker. our ppl are ignorant so you need to come down to their level (sharing, whether rice or free medical educational or legal services) Tis as good as sharing rice if not better. start small(house of Assembly grow big).not a days job or become a billionaire, philanthroph and muscle your way in fayose (first term) style. your choice. but hanging back is just... nah Oh so you are saying I can run for governor of my state and beat him without having to go through political godfathers or bribing INEC officials? |

Also in case you didnt know, oil exploration is no longer done on land but far into the sea where majority of Nigeria's oil is so I guess that can qualify as FG property. But like I said earlier, if I found gold on my property then it is mine and mine alone not the south South or the south east. |

Have you not seen the last 4 presidents we've had. The same old recycled leaders. Why did nigeria a country of over a 100 million have to chose between the same old faces every election? Why did we have to chose between Jonathan and a former dicrator? Why is that?
