I feel for him, and I fear for his life as well because he could be lynched if things go awry.
Poverty and extreme hunger walk on 2 feet in these parts of the world.
Rather, he should be made to work thoroughly, perhaps sweeping the whole market area and then let off.

Impressive!
At times, I wonder how such infrastructural development occurs in one of the wettest parts of the country.
.. but the poster needs to visit some parts of Europe to appreciate the difference. People and not just the scenery make a place.

Family › Re: When A 70 Years Old Man Behaves Foolishly, How Do You Handle It? by Day169: 7:07pm On Sep 24, 2023
Coming125:
When a 70 yrs old man behaves very foolishly, someone old enough to be your father, what do you do? How do you handle it as an adult? You as an adult of say 35-47yrs. Some 70, 75 yrs old men and women behave very foolishly, very irresponsible, very cunning, very dishonest, very deceitful, trying to cheat you, to manipulate you, trying to use their old age to manipulate you or to intimidate you, etc.

The level of crime and immorality in our society is too much. Even old men are not spared anymore. If I continue to write I will spend the whole day writing. Let me just stop here.

What do you think?

You may've to provide a little more detail on the situation but generally speaking, the situation in our society today occasioned by your story of dishonesty and recent suicidal acts by our septugenarians stems from a toxic mix of extreme poverty and moral decadence from successive years of bad leadership.

Same Soviet union military tech that couldn't take Kiev grin

How do you think Russia will fare if it were to go to a war with a formidable foe, like say Germany or even Japan,
Just over a year of fighting a small scale war in Ukraine, Russia is having supply issues, now have to beg north Korea for shells Iran for drones, just small sanctions and Russian can't produce simple artillery shells,.

The mighty has truly fallen, who would have thought in this dispensation Russia would look to north Korea for military arms,
What a time to be alive

Politics › Re: Can Nigeria Actually Manage A Natural Disaster. by Day169: 9:45pm On Sep 10, 2023
Please please please.. can we not go there?
Nigeria is already in a worse situation than a natural disaster with many "walking dead."
Worse still one can do little or nothing about a natural disaster but to plead the mercy of God to spare one's life, but our situation is self inflicted. We've been going through it, we still are and don't know how much longer we will continue to endure our 'disaster'!

Great post @ AutoHubNG!
For the benefit of those who may not understand the technicalities of an engine's construction but need to know where they stand as regards fuel consumption and costs in this era, here's a summary.
4 cylinders: Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic.
6 Cylinders: Toyota Highlander (Most of them) and Honda Pilot.
8 Cylinders: Toyota Sequoia and Lexus GX 460.
12 Cylinders: Bentley Continental.
In other words, choose your poison carefully. grin
Car Talk › Re: Will You Still Buy This Toyota Corolla Seeing This Done To It? by Day169: 11:09am On Sep 06, 2023
onlinediva:
A client was interested in this Toyota Corolla and he invited my team at Autos and Cartalk (Limited) to inspect it for him.

On getting to the car, it has about 300,000 miles on its mileage and this has been done to its battery compartment.

Will you still buy it despite all that?
Once bitten, twice shy they say. The owner must've had a very bitter experience with his car battery in the past.
Car Talk › Re: Why Can't A Faded Plate Number Be Repainted by Day169: 10:55am On Sep 06, 2023
nurey:
You can't repaint the plates because you are denying the government agency responsible from raking in revenue from low quality plate number grin

Also you are not allowed to protect the plates with any covering so it can fade easily for you to request for another unit. So cooperate with government, they need to generate revenue thanks.

Now I understand better why all eyes are on the Judiciary. Just imagine that these are supposed to be the leading lights of societal order.
.. put the garb of the legal profession aside, the years of repression, oppression and the basic instinct of human survival occasioned by selfish interests, years of economic hardship, religious and tribal sentiments have now finally come to the fore such that our mentality as Nigerians is "as e dey pain dem, e dey sweet us", and what more can reveal our primordial nature of fighting over everything!!
