Its our Aviation practices that aren't safe.

How effective are our "Emergency response" team?? How trained and equiped are they??

How well are the planes checked by qualified and experienced engineers??

Checks are normally carried out outside Nigeria and an NCAA engineer must accompany the plane to ascertain thorough compliance. Unfortunately, these corrupt government officials instead collect BRIBES from the airline operators and look the other way.

How are rickety planes allowed to operate without proper scrutiny??


These things happen because Aviation Ministry officials and those of the Regulatory body (NCAA) are BRIBED by the airline operators.

Painting and re-tiling Airports doesn't translate to Aviation reforms.

In our bid for hope we must not just become gullible. I see no sign that GEJ had a damascus experience so why should you expect anything different? Let us keep watching (or like Bola Ige, Siddon look).
