But we were made to understand that Oshiomole and Tinubu were the problem of Edo state and her residents. Now that no more Oshiomole in the picture, what happened to Edo no be Lagos?
They fell for the cheap Ipobian propaganda that Tinubu wanted to corner the treasury of Edo State the way he 'did' that of Lagos. It was a moment when a slight majority of Edo State people threw away the logical faculty of their minds.

that's the best you can be... always scornful with pointless conclusion. One question to you, given the current scenario in general context does the Governor's represent the minds of the Igbos.

You the future forecaster and alligence seeker what was your aim during 2015 elections what role have you people been playing until late last year. Of course you you didn't Knew you have cunny leaders too right? The obsession of Igbos will continue to drive you people nuts...

The earliest you begin to think right the better for you and mind you thinking right is not who becomes Nigeria President/Nigeria project, thinking right is on fairness and Equity towards your fellow human being.

There are things am avoiding saying to you lest you begin to bring IPOB/ESN into this discussion because of ur scornful attitude.

In conclusion, We the Igbos know what our problems is. You simply likes to peddle around

Focus on the outcome of that meeting, and leave Igbos alone
The way you Igbos fixate on this 2015 always leaves me wondering if Jonathan's victory that year would have made him life president of Nigeria. If he had won, wouldn't he have at the end of his tenure in 2019 still end up returning power back to another Fulani moslem whom the PDP would have thrown up as candidate and likewise the APC? And wasn't Jonathan licking the arses of the Hausafulanis'as president at the expense of the Southern interest? Why did the likes of Festus Odimegwu and other prominent Southerners who initially supported him later break ranks with him? Didn't Jonathan himself divide the South by alienating the SW which voted massively for him in 2011 after staging the Save Nigeria Movement for him when the Turai-led Fulani cabal was trying to deny him the chance of succeeding the clinically dead Yaradua?

So, why didn't you vote for Ojukwu when he contested for presidency? Did the yorubas also tell you to betray Ojukwu?

Why did Ojukwu leave your parents to die in the trenches while he fled to ivory Coast? Was it the yorubas that told him to betray your parents?

When Ojukwu came back, he rejected Biafra and sold your tribe to Hausa Fulani. Was it also the yorubas that asked him to betray your entire tribe?

Boy, you igbos are the backbitters and betrayers.

Ojukwu betrayed Igbos and Igbos betrayed Ojukwu. The backbitters and betrayers are among you igbos
Are you minding them? They term Yorubas betrayers but gave bloc votes to Obasanjo a Yoruba man in an election which their own foremost leader in Igbo land in the person of Ojukwu also contested. I have never seen a people so confused and whose words always run opposite to their actions.

the whole country was doing just fine before yorubas sneaked the mannequin in through the backdoor..I think that's the Genesis of all these..
The Genesis was at independence when Igbos sold out cheaply by declining the proposed all-south alliance in preference for the ideologically bankrupt NPC-NCNC coalition which threw up Tafawa Balewa as prime minister instead of a person from the South which actually won the 1959 election. Then Igbos again went for the North vs East alliance in 1979 which again produced Shagari a Fulani man bereft of any idea of governance. Igbos would repeat it again in 1999 by colluding with the North to impose a southern lackey of the militaristic Northern Oligarchy in the person of Obasanjo where far better and more dynamic Alex Ekueme and Olu Falae contested PDP primary and general election respectively. Igbos are the real and serial betrayers of the South.

While Igbos' complicity with the Northern hegemony to recycle and impose Obasanjo their Southern stooge in 1999 will be ignored, right?

Edo state can't even deliberate on such burning and important national issues, because we don't even have a house of assembly to deliberate or enact the anti open grazing law or any other bill for the betterment of the people.
Why did God decide to punish edolites with such a monumental failure and evil like Obaseki? Other states are doing forward we are just dancing backwards with the useless governor.
Edo State people had a clear chance to make a choice between good and evil last year September but they purposely chose evil in a bid to prove a non-existent point. In introductory Economics I was taught in the principle of choice that there is what is called alternative forgone. In the Edo State issue, the alternative which the people knowingly chose to forgo in order to be seen as stubborn and independent minded was good governance and normalcy. For that I think Edo State people should quietly bear the cross they placed on themselves. Unfortunately that is my state and some of us saw all these coming back then. They have successfully proved their point and should as well live with the alternative forgone. They can't eat their cake and have it.

Let him work with the permanent secretaries.

EDO STATE IS NOT AS RICH AS RIVERS STATE OR LAGOS STATE THAT ADEGBORUWA is based.
Then why did Obaseki appoint commissioners in his first term? How come Oshiomhole did well in terms of infrastructural and social projects with commissioners both in his first and second terms? Edo is not a poor state. It is even among the first seven out of 36 in terms of GDP per Capita. It also generates a lot of IGR way beyond most other states like Borno where Zulum is performing wonders. Please look for another excuse to give for your support for Obaseki's incompetence.

Before you blame Obaseki, ask PDP and Edo State elders how much they all collected from him for a chance of second term.

.
While I don't deny the fact that PDP milked Obaseki of the state's resources as condition to giving him the party's ticket, I however think that the issue is being over hyped. At worst they might have collected a total of N50bn from Obaseki going by the liberal estimates of some of us who followed those spendings and did the mathematics along. So how does a dent of just N50bn in the state's purse handicap Obaseki to continue failing on all fronts of governance as we have it today in Edo State which has an average yearly budget of N170bn? Obaseki is just a greedy and extremely corrupt person who can latch onto any excuse that presents itself for him to explain away his underperformance. He did it in his first term by accusing Oshiomhole and APC of pressuring him to share state's resources even though it was a very silly excuse which no educated person should have fallen for. Now that he can't use the Oshiomhole excuse again he wants to use PDP milking as the next. With all the federal allocation that has accrued to Edo State since the beginning of his second term he has definitely recovered whatever he showered on PDP, so he has no excuse at all. He is only cashing out towards his final exit in 2024.

Hmm, although I've met lot's of Edo people who identify as Yoruba and you really can blame me...the groom in question has not 1 but 2 Yoruba names and a Yoruba surname from a place closely bordered by Yorubaland, doing a Yoruba traditional wedding...... anyways thanks for the education.
No real Edo person brought up at home would indentify himself as Yoruba except for political intents aimed at deceiving a Yoruba man for favour. A lot of Akoko-Edo youths of today living in Yorubaland are fond of this and I personally advise them against it telling them the possible future dangers it could portend to them and their children.
There are some Niger Deltans whose first name and surnames are both English, e.g. Donald Duke, Edwin Clarke, Goodluck Jonathan, etc. But that doesn't make them Britons. Also in Akoko-Edo, you find natives bearing complete Nupe names like Damisa Daninya, Daudu Zeike, Audu Momodu, Amuda Garba, etc but that doesn't make them Nupes. Likewise, there are Yorubas I personally know in my area of residence here in Lagos whose surnames and first names are both Northern in origin, e.g. Balikiss Sanni, Bello Nofisat, Aisha Bello, Farouk Azeez, etc but that doesn't make them Hausas even though some of them are natives of Kwara State which shares boundary with a Hausa inhabited state like Niger State. The wedding in the video is not a Yoruba traditional wedding else the kind of music played wouldn't have been played in addition to the fact that the groom wasn't getting married to a Yoruba woman in the first instance to warrant him being made to observe Yoruba rites of marriage like prostrating before the brides parents amidst figures like Alaga Iduro and Alaga Ijoko as they usually have them during Yoruba traditional weddings. Above all, the groom in question must have a background family name which is native to Igarra but overshadowed by Yoruba influence hence the prominence of his Yoruba names.
Events › Re: Wedding Dance Video Of An Asian Woman & Her Nigerian Husband From Edo by Deadlytruth(m):
OKAIVBO:
Igarra is not yoruba. Igarra (etuno) can be said to be in the same language group with Ebira or a dialect of Ebira. That one is influenced by a group does not make one a member of that group. There are no native Yorubas in Edo state, what you have are Edo groups who do not speak exactly mutually intelligible languages and adopted Yoruba as a lingua Franca for efficienct communication among themselves and also to communicate effectively with their neighbors who they are bothered by. This is prevalent in Akoko Edo because in that local government, there are seventeen Edoid languages which are not mutually intelligible.
You are mostly right in all your points except where you place Etuno Language as a dialect of Ebira.

Just as you correctly said: Akoko-Edo is not Yoruba in any way. The bearing of Yoruba names there is a fall out of invasion by the Oyo Empire forces as at when the Benin Empire had begun to decline in few decades to colonization due to internal issues within the Benin Kingdom. Most of Akoko-Edo towns and villages were founded by Benin emigrants at different times in history. For example the Uneme ethnic group in Akoko-Edo today have their ancestral origins in the Igun Quarters of Benin City while the Akuku people have theirs in the Uselu Quarters of the same Benin City. Same with Ososo and Okpe. But on the Etuno people issue; actually the Language is called Oshuku Language which Etuno in Edo State, Ebira in Kogi State and many others in Plateau, Benue, Cross River, Nassarawa belong with Etuno being of first place importance due to historical primogeniture position. Etuno people are not Ebiras. Those called Ebiras are the Oshuku people native to the present Okene and adjoining environs in Kogi State. Though the Ebiras as of today are labouring hard to rub the Ebira classification on all Oshuku peoples in quest for a quite dubious politically motivated pursuit but it will surely not work.

Elections pre-independence? Are you kidding me? Can you show me the documents where Igbos voted pre-independence? In fact, Zik was more attempting to lead Yorubas because he also grew up in Lagos, he spoke more Yoruba and Hausa than Igbo and the COLONIAL MASTERS compensated him with a position in the Eastern Region which was a region of the current SE and SS, with the exception of Edo state and some parts of Delta state.

Zik also fought against us the Igbos during the Civil war. He didn't stood with Nigeria because he saw himself as a Hausa, Yoruba before Igbo.
Haven't you ever come across it in history of Nigeria that the colonial authorities allowed indegenous participation in politics beginning from 1922? What is participation in politics if I may ask? Why did Herbert Macaulay form the NNDP party in 1923?
I guess the Zungeru where Zik was born and brought up is in Yorubaland, right? You mean it was the colonial masters that used ethnic jingles to remove Ita Eyo for Zik in the Eastern Region? There is nothing overtly reputable about that website, It is similar to Wikipedia.. You can post facts and mix them with opinions. In the speech you posted Zik clearly stating an opinion and was nothing even forceful.. he did not remove secession into law and had no rights... Zik was born and raised in Zungeru, Niger state and even in his book, he stated that he is from Benin. He was more of a pan-Africanist and was never for once in stood solely for the interest of the Igbos... Igbos do not even respect him as of today...

Secondly, Zik was not representing the Eastern region. Ojukwu led the Biafran government and not the Igbos.. Pre-independence, Zik was not representing the interest or opinion of the Igbos nor Igbo people.. Whatever he did before independence (where he had no power) was solely for himself and not for the people of the East... He was more of a Nortzerner than an Igbo man. Have you ever seen Zik in Igbo attire?
Democracy is a representative venture and Zik didn't elect himself to that parliament in which he espoused Anti-secession philosophy. He was elected there not by Hausafulanis, not by Binis, not by Yorubas but by his very own Igbo people to represent them and speak for them there. So all he did and fought for were on behalf of the Igbo ethnic group. Had his position on secession and one-Nigeria run contrary to that of the generality of the Igbo nation then they would have set in motion a process to recall him. But as long as records of history is devoid of any attempt to recall him by the Igbos, then you can't ever wash Igbos' hands off his sabotage of secession attempts by the North and all other tribes.

Hope you knew the coup happened so that Awolowo can be installed as head of state?
So why have you Igbos not now carried out another coup today to remove Buhari? And you forgot that the same Ortom recently made a U-turn on the very issue once Buhari began to offer money for the governors ready for RUGA? You also forgot that the whole RUGA idea actually originated from PDP during Jonathan era when over N100bn was released to all the 36 state governors for it but Ortom would never tell you that.
On your Awolowo angle to the coup, I can tell you that it is a lie that was later fabricated to mitigate the obviously Igbocentric execution pattern of the coup.
According to the coupists themselves, their objective was to put in place a strong center and create a government of national unity to eradicate the tribalism which regional system had encouraged.
Now, how could a set of coupists desirous of eradicating tribalism through a unitary government have flirted with the idea of making a federalist and an alleged father of tribalism head such a government? Can't you see that the whole story is not adding up?

1. Zik is entitled to his opinion. Zik was nobody in 1953 to determine for the North what to do. If the North wants to secede from Nigeria, nobody can stop them. The North stayed in Nigeria of their own accord

2. Zik did not lead his people out of Nigeria, Ojukwu did. Zik initially supported Biafra but later ran back to his "one Nigeria"

3. Had Zik been alive today to witness what is happening in Nigeria, he would have regretted every second he ever wasted believing in "one Nigeria"
You are wrong on all the above three fronts:
1. Zik was fighting the North's secession movement in representative capacity of the Igbo race which elected him as their political leader to that very parliament where he made that speech, else Igbos should have recalled him back home. He enjoyed the backing of the British overlords in fighting against secession clause hence there was nothing the desirous North could do any further about their wish.

2. The fact that Zik later, in an afterthought tone, publicly declared that Nigeria should be allowed to split in peace and not in pieces, and the fact that he ever joined the Biafra project invalidates your argument above.

3. What is currently happening in Nigeria is not new. It had already happened in 1945, 1953 and again in 1962, 1965 yet Zik was chanting one-Nigeria and nationalism all through those years. In fact it was happening right during the Biafra War when Zik defected to the side of one-Nigeria again. Remember that Zik once publicly declared that he was ready to pay the supreme price (i.e. death of his people) to preserve one-Nigeria?

With what we have here one can intellectually orientate that the great Zik of Africa was very open and not forcefully imposing his opinion on The Northerners.

All I see here is an intelligently constructed submission with plateful of logic to reason with.

The great Zik was a genius.
Your assessment of Zik as using only intelligence and superior intellectual acumen is faulty on the following three premises:
1. The fact that he described Nigeria's union as perpetual and non-negotiable means his mind was actually closed to any opinion different from his about Nigeria hence wouldn't have welcome any superior logical argument why the North should have been allowed to exit Nigeria.
2. The fact that in another argument parliamentary session in which he was pitted against Awolowo over this same secession issue, he gleefully rejoiced when the British used threats of treason to quieten Awolowo who actually had a superior arguement as to why secession clause should be allowed in the future constitution of Nigeria.

3. The fact that posterity today has put Zik on the wrong side of history and made nonsense of his position back then on secession to the point that over 3 million civilians of his own Igbo race would later lose their lives in search of that same secession which Zik 'intelligently' argued against when Northerners wanted it.
Any intelligence which ignores stark reality in pursuit of dreams and hazzy apparitions is actually a display of idiocy.
And point of correction: Zik was actually an evil genius. The fact that his ideologies and choices back then later led to outcomes which have till today left a sour taste in the mouths of his own Igbo race lends flesh to that conclusion.
