Oh! What you are saying is that those who came after Ironsi were not interested in doing better than Ironsi? They were interested in doing worse than him? grin grin grin

You people will not kill me with laughter
Before Ironsi came, we had the best system upon which no one needed to do any better. However, Ironsi's destruction of that system signalled to the others that Igbos will never allow any just and equitable system be, so no one cared about doing better any more.

And what did they do when they killed Ironsi and took over? Did they keep the Regions? No, they did much worse. Today, the Regions are long gone and we have 36 states.
Ironsi created 35 provinces which his successors followed as template to create the 36 states you now decry.

Is that you just post things just for the fun of trolling? So you don't know creation of states in Nigeria were mischievously done by wicked leaders just to spite the Igbos. So the Yorubas found in Edo, Kogi, Kwara are not Yorubas again? Or the Ijaws found in different states are not Ijaws again? Same as the Igalas found in Anambra state. Sometimes I wonder what you all gain in trying to heat up the political environment in Nigeria? You guys should stop this habit of propaganda and learn to travel round Nigeria to study people's culture and leave what miscreants post online.
Please who and who exactly are these Yorubas in Edo State? Would you mind telling us the part of Edo State they occupy?

You are totally right my good brother..
South east as an acronym is the invention of fulani army officers. At independence, the only generally acceptable regional groupings were; the north, the West and the East... Following popular demands, after a referendum, the southern cameroons left the east to join their kins in Cameroon while Midwest left the west to establish a distinct political identity! There were muted agitation for the middle belt and some murmurings for the COR, but non materialized before the brutes in uniform took over and started slicing everything whimsically as they liked... So the borders of present day groupings are not borne out of either referendums or electoral decisions but basically were creations if some intellectually starved uniformed buffoons in power..
Unfortunatelyl, you forgot to mention that the first brute in uniform to take over thereby laying the foundation for his Fulani successors who disrupted the system was an Igbo man. Recall that Ironsi was first to tamper with the regional structure while the Hausafulanis were begging him to leave it intact?

So there are Igbo people in Edo state.

Probably he is refering to IGBANKE !

The other day the Alafin was also refering to Yoruba in Edo state.

Maybe the Alafin was refering to Akoko Edo area, Sabogida Ora, which is one of the oldest local government area in Nigeria.

I know that there are a lot of yoruba cocoa migrant farmers in Akoko Edo area but I am shocked to hear the Alafin making yoruba claim to Edo state.

Ijaw people are also laying claim to Edo state coastal waters such as Gelegele ports and Ovia River area.

Other regions are just laying claim to territory in Nigeria just like the fulani

Even Ex-President Donald Trump was so greedy that he want to buy Greenland with its capital in Nuuk and add it to the United States but the Danish government refuse to sell their colony to America.

Humanity is very greedy.
I can tell you for sure that those Yorubas claiming Akoko-Edo as part of Yoruba land are ignoramuses.

May i use this minute to thank you for your helping advice towards finding a solution to my account suspension imbroglio.
I have now started selling my disposable stocks.
It took the intervention of CSCS before Meritrade decided to give me a lease of life.
CSCS never suspended my account as this was confirmed in their Headquarters Lagos, and the desk officer called Meritrade to do the needful. Otherwise, heaven knows when i would have been able to use my account.

However, up till this moment, Meritrade guys insist that my account was suspended by CSCS.

They probably don't like me anymore.
So, i sold some stocks, which had already depreciated, this morning, even with the much hated Price Limit.

Meritrader is a great platform. I remain there. However, i would still fight their Senior Management Staff in Lagos, for breaking my heart.

Which stock can i buy now, Ymcy mommy ?

This is the first time i am available to trade at the right time. I've been behaving like an as***le.
This is unbelievable! Toluway just returned to the thread like this after almost three years. Hmmmm

If APC gives her 2023 ticket to an Igbo man, then the party will have just set foot on its path to extinction.
This is because even the average Igbo man would prefer to vote for a Fulani man flying the PDP ticket than his own brother flying that of APC. I have belonged to many Igbo dominated groups on WhatsApp and Facebook and realized that those finding the cure for AIDS and Coronavirus are more hopeful of success than anyone trying to make Igbos have a change of heart towards APC. What however beats me about this their hate for APC is that they can't offer any concrete and issues based reason for it.
If Igbos could reject Ojukwu twice in preference for Obasanjo a son of the Yoruba tribe they so much hate, and again for Yaradua a son of the Fulani tribe they now love to hate with passion despite all this current Fulani Herdsmen scourge started under that very Yaradua, then APC will be very naive to hand her ticket to an Igbo man thinking that is a way to reintegrate Igbos into Nigerian nationalism. That will be a very costly and regrettable mistake.
Igbos hate APC and no jupiter can cure that hatred. Not even an Igbo APC presidential ticket.

For those who are ready to reason and not react based on emotions, GEJ is right.
If you restructure nigeria to regional governments, the current problem bedevilling the country will rear its ugly head in the regions due to the number of ethnic groups.
In delta state alone, the tension between ijaw, itshekiri and urhobo is still there. We dont hear so much abt it because of d noise from d 3 major ethnic groups - hausa, ibo n yoruba.
But when naija returns to regional govt, the hostilities will commence in full force at d regions and will surely be deadlier than anyone cud imagine. At that time, the already weak Nigerian army may not be able to confront the multiple crisis from the regions.
I think we need to review our constitution.
Let certain tins be well defined.
Buhari really showed us how useless our constitution is with his style of appointments and governance
What you fail to understand is that between 1960 and 1966 when we practised the kind of structure we are asking for now through the call for restructuring all these Ijaw vs Ishekiri rivalries were non existent.
Social injustice brought about the disunity you see in Nigeria today, and the social injustice started as a result of the subversion of the independence Constitution. Only a restructured Nigeria (a return to true federalism which Ironsi destroyed) can guarantee unity. Any constitutional amendment which doesn't return true federalism will create more disunity.
Politics › Re: Goodluck Jonathan: Without Unity, Restructuring Won’t Work by Deadlytruth(m): 3:49am On Jan 22, 2021
Jonathan always reasoning against common sense. His penchant to speak blindly about unity gives one the impression that the "Azikiwe" in his name makes him reason just like Nnamdi Azikiwe who was going up and down talking about a non-existent one-Nigeria which his own kinsmen ironically became the greatest victims.

Sometimes the system defaults. It has happened to me several times. There was a day I placed an order for CHAMS and was at position 11. When it got to my turn my bid was partially filled and the system took me to position 32 and that was it for the day. I couldn't get the balance filled. On another day recently I bided for FTN COCOA and I was at number 19 with over 30m bids ahead of me but surprisingly I later received a trade alert of my bid being 100% filled. When I later checked the total volume exchanged for the day that day, it wasn't up to 15million even..... meaning that the system displaced some people in front of me.

The yorubas are the architect of Nigeria disunity.
It all started from Lagos(the capital City),the yorubas used it to their advantage by planting their brothers in all Federal and multinational establishments in lagos.Name it;banks, oil companies, construction, etc.there are some establishments you cannot work in Lagos, because their official language is yoruba,e.g Guinness Nigeria PLC.
Having said that, among our founding fathers,it was Obafemi Awolowo that promoted, tribalism the most, and it opens the gate of disunity in this country
Tribalism was introduced into Nigerian politics in 1938 by Azikiwe.
As for Lagos being the capital city where everything seems to be overconcentrated; it is recorded in the annals of history that Awolowo once moved a motion that the federal capital be shifted from Lagos to either the North or the East but that Igbos in the federal parliament back then under the leadership of Azikiwe resisted it because they didn't want to lose the premise upon which they were asking the colonial authorities to declare Lagos a no man's land. Even till today you can still hear Igbos describe Lagos like that to the annoyance of Yorubas.
The long and short of it is that Zik was a very bad Igbo leader who put his selfish interest before the general interest of the Igbo nation thus putting Igbos in harm's way.

Why do you think some of us refer to Igbos as the biggest hypocrites and clannish bigots on Earth?

Awolowo's effort to have a secession clause included in our constitution was frustrated by the treacherous Nnamdi Azikiwe in collusion with the North.

Yet it is Awolowo Igbos will insult and not the traitor Azikiwe whose previous treacherous action had ensured the only option of seccesion they had was war.

When Oju-iku then took them into that ill-advised war then wiped out millions of Igbos, it is Awolowo, Adekunle etal hypocritical and tribalistic Igbos blame not the slimy Azikiwe or the megalomaniac lunatic Oju-iku. Take hypocritical, dishonest and unprincipled Igbos seriously at your own peril.
After giving Azikiwe a very important leadership position in Biafra, Ojukwu was expecting Awolowo and Enahoro to join forces with him and come under the headship of the same Zik who had earlier on sabotaged their own attempt to get a secession clause into the constitution to make for a far easier and bloodless secession.
The same Zik would later abandon Biafra for the federal side when it began to appear that Ojukwu was losing the war.

Whoever went to school, moreso in a first world country like UK as Nzeogwu did, couldn't have sincerely had a good intention for even contemplating the sack of a democratically elected government let alone actually carry it out. Check the countries which make up the list of modern world economic and military powers and point out which one had its democratic growth punctuated by military rule.

So why would you like a person whom you yourself admit as having shed innocent blood unnecessarily? I thought people are loved for their kindness and milk of humanness?

People react based on what they are told until told otherwise or they find new information. Call a man on the phone and tell him, you are sending 1 million naira; he will start rejoicing without seeing you or the money; call another man and tell him his close relative like child, parent or wife is dead ; even though it's a phone call- the man will likely go into instant sorrow even though you may be lying to him.
The initial mood in the North was that of rejoicing until the people were presented with an alternative view of things.
And that alternative view was actually supported with empirical facts and the unassailable logic inherent in those facts.

Thanks for this. From now on let me hear any Igbo monicker here tag it a coup aimed at ridding the country of corruption.

I used to pity Maimalari before now and see his murder as cold blooded. But with this it is now clear to me that he stood in the way of justice by aiding corruption within the army and the corruption later ate him up.

Per the bolded, you just hit the nail on the head. Those guys so mystified the market by the manner in which they delayed execution of mandates for days running into weeks only for you to later see a trade alert with a buy price well above the price you placed the buy order or a sell price well below that at which you placed a sell order.
In addition, those pre-digital days, one had to physically visit the broker's office to fill a hard copy form for a buy or sell mandate and also to collet a check for proceeds of sales.
