Investment › Re: How Tony Elumelu Made $123 Million In 3 Weeks (Transcorp Shares) by debeey87(m): 12:23pm On Nov 23, 2013
deenee: Herd mentality at work again. Meanwhile smart investors like Tony and Co probably snatched up Transcorp shares when it was trading at 50kobo. (I have about 10million units of transcorp all bought when it was trading at 50 kobo). Funny thing though is that a lot of people actually saw this coming but were not quick to act. I can recall that it has been in the news for at least a year that Transcorp and Forte Oil were amongst the preferred bidders for some of the PHCN assets. Transcorp is also a strategic partnership Hilton Worldwide to build about five hotels around the country. Total outstanding shares available for sale is about 40billion. This frenzy was actually started by foreign investors who sat on the fence all through the privatization process and are rushing to take early positions in some of this coys at all cost given the successful completion of phase one of the privatization process.

Currently the share is trading within the over bought region and over priced but I guess we can never tell how far man's greed and avarice can take him so therefore people will continue to demand for transcorp shares no matter the cost.

Well I have started off loading my own shares in tranches to take an early profit.

My best advice is this: the best way to make quick money in the Nigeria stock market is to BET against it (buy when everyone is selling and sell when every one is buying)
Right on the money bro and thats what Buffet Advise, Buy when others are selling and sell when they are buying. Am still greedy with transcorp but I hope its worth it.
Did same for Oando cheesy smiley

def lover: na devil go soda their yansh .........from dangote to indi okereke to all of dem......dey sold us a lie....i bought 68,000 unit for 512,000 naira at 7naira 50 kobo and it was quoted at 9naira seventy-one kobo but wat happened it nose dived to 50kobo even wen i wanted out they refuse to dematerialize till i was able to get out at 1naira 40 kobo now they are pumping it again to fool people so later they will dump it....dont be fooled....one thing they have is control....you as an investor dont have control over the shares.....i am now a skilled investor and i will neva touch nigerian stocks again.....if its not online trading i wont touch it angry angry angry angry angry
Sorry to say def lover but i would say you were not a smart investor. There is nothing to be decieved about the NSE. With the little I know, news drive the Market. Look at what happened to Forte Oil on the news of its acquisition of another power generating station. The price soared from less that 20 naira to 109. That's what the capital market is all about, be smart.

I blamed my self for not buying FO in May when it was 14naira even if it was 1000 units, I would have made over 100k now from 14000 pere. Thank God I bought Transcorp sha. I just dey folo the price jejely as he dey go up. I don't know much about the market o, but at least, God has given me wisdom to make some little decsion, same goes for Oando

Congrats to Mr Tony. I wished I bought more than I bought in Transcorp because even my broker told me there is a long queue waiting to buy and the reason is simply because people have seen a big window of opportunity in the Power sector.

For those who might think I have not lost money, I sure have but maybe not as much as you have. But thats the way the game is. Even Baba Buffet has lost millions of dollars investing but he is still called the Ifa of Omaha and he is still investing.

My advise is: Be watchful of the market, when others are panicking, shook our head carefully to see if their reason for running is actually worth it. If not, allow them to run very well and just jejely buy and cross legged and be waiting.

Cheers

Family › Re: A Christian Couple's Quiet Prayer Before Wedding Touched Thousands Of People by debeey87(op):
I am thankful to God so many of us have been blessed by this article. For those of you who are still virgins - male/female thank God for you and may God give you the grace to keep it and as a special gift to your charming prince that special night.

Let me just point out that Virginity is not a criteria for a sucessful marriage. I read that comment of that person who mentioned about the lady who married as a virgin and the husband absconded after some years. The big question should have been, WERE THEY MEANT FOR EACH OTHER. Keeping our purity will be worth it if only we give it to the right person.

Some of us have criteria for the kind of man we want. Criterias like he must have tribal mark, he must be tall, handsome, rich, have a car and a whole lot. Bro Gbile Akanni shared the story of a lady who all she wanted for a husband was a pilot which is not a bad thing to desire. She got one but the marriage was hell. The man turned her to a punching bag and she even lost one of her sight in the marriage.

Friends, Its not about who He/She is today but who He/She will become 5, 10, 15, 20 years from now. Your marriage is not for today alone but for eternity and only God knows that tomorrow.

Commit your choice into the hands of the Lord and he will do that which is perfect as regards your choice of who to marry.

On a final note, When we accept Jesus into our lives, our purity is restored and we are once more fit to wear that white bridal gown.

If you can, I will encourage you to go to youtube and download Bro Gbile Akanni's messages on courtship and choice of a life partner, I know it will bless your soul.

Family › A Christian Couple's Quiet Prayer Before Wedding Touched Thousands Of People by debeey87(op): 8:32am On Nov 12, 2013
This is Josh and Bre Curtas, a devout Christian couple, minutes before their wedding ceremony, now living in Virginia. Josh wanted to be sure they started their marriage off right, so without seeing the bride before the ceremony, they sat around the corner from one another, held hands and prayed.

Photographer Kimberly Burke snapped this photo of Bre and Josh holding hands and praying before their wedding in August 2012. Burke told HuffPost Weddings that the photo went viral back in January when Bre wrote a blog post about it.

This week, this photo went viral for a second time on the internet after the New York Daily News wrote about the photo on Wednesday.

Bre wrote in her blog post recently that she wanted to share the story behind the photo for the hundreds of thousands of people who found inspiration through this sweet moment she and her husband had.

Below is the story behind the Photo worte and posted by Bre (originally available here)

Moments before I was to walk down the aisle my soon to be mother in law came in the dressing room where my bridesmaids and I were all gushing with giggles and fluttering about finishing last minute details.

"Sweetheart, your groom has called for you!".

In a nervous tizzy I said, "What?! I'm not ready! I have to get my shoes and..."She had already taken my hand and led me to a corner, where my groom was waiting. I barely sat down; I was filled with so much anticipation! So much excitement! So many nerves!

"Is he going to like my dress? Does my hair look pretty? Can he see me?!"

Right around the corner sat my soon to be husband, I so was nervous he might see me yet secretly hoping to catch a glimpse of him. In my excited state I was the first to speak,

"Hi sweetie! We're getting married today!"

"I know baby and I want to pray with you before we do."

There we sat around the corner hand in hand, and together we bowed our heads. People were rushing about; the wedding coordinator directing people here and there, the photographers snapping photos and the bridal party enjoying each others company. Yet in that moment, in the quietness of our hearts and minds, my husband and I were alone in the presence of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

My husband prayed that God would bless our marriage, that through thick or thin together we would never lose hope in one another. That instead of focusing on each others imperfections we would always rely on Christ's perfection. That we would wake up every day and chose to love one another not through our own strength but by the power of Christ's perfect love.

With our hands clenched tightly to one another together we said "Amen", both with shaky voice and just like that I was whisked away to blot the tears off my face and put on my veil.

After my bridesmaids, mother, mother-in-law and every other girl in the room had finished zipping, curling, tucking and blushing me up I looked in the mirror. There I stood wearing my pure white wedding dress, ready to walk down the aisle to my Prince Charming.

See, he is not only my Prince Charming because of his incredibly handsome looks, or wonderful humor, or the fact that we have so much in common. He is my Prince Charming because he helped me protect the most precious gift that I owned, my purity.

Soon after we had started dating I nervously told my Prince that I was a virgin and planned to be until the night of my wedding; to which he replied he would have it no other way.

Throughout our dating relationship and engagement we constantly fought, what at times felt like a losing battle. We fought temptation with prayer, scripture and accountability. I had friends checking up on me if they knew we were together late at night and he regularly met with other Godly men to pray for strength. At times, especially as the wedding grew closer, we thought we were attempting to do the impossible.

"Why are we doing this?" I would ask in my weakness, and he would remind me, that it's because God had told us too.

"I can't do it, I can't... this is too hard!" he would confess to me and I would pray for his strength.

When I walked down the aisle in my white dress, I looked straight into the eyes of the man that had laid himself down to protect and honor the wife that God had given him.

When his eyes first caught mine he looked into the face of the woman that had waited for him, the woman that would support him and love him for the rest of His life, through good times and bad.

I share all of this because in that prayer we prayed, which was captured here on camera we asked the Lord to use our wedding to bring Him all of the glory that He rightfully deserved. We had not gotten where we were by our own strength, but by His hand of protection on our relationship.

God has used this photo to inspire hundreds of thousands of people already and for that we are humbled and honored! I wanted to take it a step further and give God praise and thanks for how we arrived at that quiet corner, holding hands and ready to begin our lives together.

D sage: May God bless you, in a normal society, a person like Gowon shouldn't be seen as ICON let alone talking about affairs of our dear country.

Nigeria should DISINTEGRATE or go back to REGIONALISM. This kind of Federalism is notting but impediment to development. What do we expect from a federal state where local-govts are useless or lack constitutional power? A country where FG takes more than 50% of allocation revenue? A country where money is senselessly giving to law-makers who're barely know in their various constituency? Etc.

@debeey87, you need more education and enlightement, or better still get out of your cave and see what they called good leaders in the developed societies.
Needless to start counting the number of countries I have visited to impress anyone. 2015 is around the corner, I hope you will not be one of those people who will vote a man into power because you think its the turn of your tribe to rule but you will vote because such a one merits your vote.
That's when we will know what kind of citizen you are yourself.

Sentiments apart, odoji or no odoji, 20k or no 20k, Gowon and Murtala Muhammed have been the best who have ruled this country. When names of people who loot Naija wealth are been mentioned, gowon never did

In terms of managing resources, has any successive govt done any better. He tried his own best and hoped others will continue and since they failed to,what can he do abt that.

Thank God none of my family members died during NYSC. But lemme ask u,was it boko haram that killed corpers that died in road accidents while they are serving.
Agreed that a certain section of my country people are babaric in their thinking and still feels killing their fellow humans will take them to heaven.

What of those ritualist who kidnap people and use them for money. Person wey go die go die any which way.

Gowon is right if you have not benefited from the unity of this country,u will advocate seperation.

Keep praying that God will touch the heart of all of us and remove the spirit of selfishness because that's is what is. causing corruption

Am sure a gud number of you pple abusing gowon were not born when he ruled. what u shud have done is to use google and read up about his administration.

This same man started NYSC..... before you start criticizing me,its not only in Nigeria where National service is compulsory. NYSC was established to foster unity amongst Nigerians.

About Abiola and Abacha's death,he never in his statement said God killed them,he only pointed out that in the course of their prayers, they asked that God would do the needful so as to ensure successful transition to a civilian govt. To him. the fact that the duo died to him meant an end to rivalry and a beginning of a new democracy.

Forget that corpers are being maimed and killed in the North,NYSC has come to stay and not even your opinion cannot change it.

For those of you clamouring for division of naija, let me ask you; What is the assurance that the current crop of leaders you have in your tribe who cannot achieve anything meaningful with the little they have now will be able to achieve more when they have a whole lot at their disposal.

Gowon said those clamouring for the country's division are those who have not benefited in anyway from its unity. Don't be quick to forget that there are Yorubas and Igbos doing well in Business in the North and same applies to other tribes in other regions of the country.

Let me roundup by saying We are beautiful in our diversity. Pray that Nigeria will remain one. Infact am thinking of proposing to my Abia Girlfriend sef.

God Bless Naija

Mine was my visit to dubai this year. First time out of the country actually. Menn d airport make sense die. Was surprised that the same trolley you would have to pay to use in MMA was free in the Airport. You just pick one and put your luggage on it, finish.

Hitting the road, na him i come dey find pothole, Menn, I no see anyone. Everywhere was so clean and tidy. Then I saw this 5 lane dual carriage road. I was like no be this same oil wey them get we get for naija too and to dualise roads, govt go dey tell us say money no dey. the thing vex me o.

Entering the metroline was smtn else. Fast, clean no b naija railway where some mannerless persons wl be insulting you when you enter. The cul tn about the rails is that, every 5mins, another train is at the station.

Then, d last but not the least, nepa.... sorry no nepa there, electricity dey kampe for there. Though every apartment buildings have generators but in my 5 weeks, didnt see them use it once.

Was such a wonderful experience. I know Naija will get there one day soon.

I for one believe in a Nigeria where everyone at the grass root is not corrupt. Most time we look at those folks wearing babariga as d thieves but even in our various communities, equity and fairness is not present. You see people saddled with community responsibility but who see it as a time to eat their share of the community cake.
Until as individuals, we stand up for what is right and do what is right like not taking or giving bribe and doing your job without favoritism, voting for people not because they gave you money but for what they can do owing to their records, we will not see a better Nigeria.
It might be funny to discover that its just a ploy by this people to have both parties(incoming and sacked senators) have a share of the national cake.

Be the change you desire to see, start the fight against corruption from within yourself, take it out to your family. Make your family known for equity and fairness in the community you live in and encourage others to shun corruption. That way we can together bring down corruption at the top.

Remember we are more than them that rule us at the top.

Finally, I will like you to read about the story of Mr Gamaliel Onosode, one Nigerian who is an epitome of truth and Integrity.

God Bless You, God Bless Me and God Bless Nigeria

So many things shape who and what we become like religion and culture. But personally like P- square sang, its also a choice. Do you wanna tell me all pastors/imam daughters are virgins, Hell No. So that tells you its a choice.

And come to think of it, as a lady or a guy, u give up your virginity to a guy or lady maybe cos u wanna show u love them, and u dont wanna let them go but they eventually do and go Bleep some bitches out there again and again until they are ready to settle down.

So if you are still intact wink, Kudos to you, keep it up for the right person like Tubaba sang, and if you lost urs to some useless niggurs, you dont have to keep testing the waters with your feet, cos it aint worth it, it will just reduce you to a bag of trash.
