I was one of those who thought that APC could bring some change. Shamefully, the party is as selfish and self-centred as others. Insurgency spreading to the whole country - No comment from them! Highly corrupt and grossly inefficient embassies around the world - No comment! Nigerians find it difficult to get visas and even as difficult to get the passports of their own country - No comment! Government agencies accross board alleged to be demanding for incentives before carrying out their official duties - No comment! LASTMA handed powers to impound people's vehicles because they want to collect money for road-worthiness on vehicles that they dont even know if they exist - No comment! Companies paying suffocating taxes - No comment! Roads to Apapa port still have gridlocks despite executive orders - No comment! Towns taken over by BH and BH now collecting taxes and providing services as alleged - No comment! Weeks after swearing in ceremony, no ministers announced - No comment! Killer herdsmen alleged to have invaded forests around the country - No comment. What is our sin in this country? |
festacman:True advocates of State Police would not ask for the Federal Police to be scrapped. They will complement themselves. Things like recovery of stolen cars, road checks, etc can be taken completely from NPF and left for State Police to handle, while NPF can be tasked with major crimes like terrorism, theft of National Treasury etc. At any rate, when we say the Governors will abuse State Police, isnt the same abuse likely to happen or already happening at the Federal level? With the rate of major crimes in Nigeria, we need to start thinking differently! With LASTMA (which is a minor form of State Police) on Lagos roads, what is the business of NPF still controlling traffic or checking vehicle papers? |
Before nko? |
So, where are the girls? Where is Leah? Bring her back. Where are the Chibok girls? Have they been moved from Sambisa? Please heed to the cry of the people and bring back our girls. |
Will he accept such a role? MINORITY? After being the speaker of the house? Lets wait and see. |
Who is this that does not know the difference between Ogun and Ondo states? |
I have employed more women than men in my career. I think they perform well on the job, except for roles that require some level of masculinity! Please am I male feminist? |
She was dreaming of a new Nigeria where One Naira will exchange for 1 dollar! Please let her! Just pray she wakes up before her 4 year term expires. |
They have started again - Sharing our commonwealth! |
Very old photos. May be still relevant though but I remember seeing the same video months ago. |
I caution these leaders to fear God. 2019 has not even ended and you are all struggling for who will eat the cake in 2023! A failed generation,as claimed by Prof Soyinka, who are not even repentant at their old age. Shame. |
My suggestion. Let them all have an open debate and let the people back the best of them. Enough of politicians trumping up ethnic cards. I dont care which tribe you belong, we just need the best candidate who will work to push the right laws geared at Nigeria's development. I dont think the last set had any plans for Nigeria. When they were not on vacation they were busy looking for how to win elections and stay put in power. |
Nigeria needs to practice Taxation 101 - Let the cow be well nourished so that it can produce milk. VAT should be like 3% for next 5 years and then 5% afterwards and so on - Make it so hard for people to escape paying VAT by insisting on a law that both buyer and seller will be held responsible if VAT is not applied. If FIRS can widen the net by encouraging compliance, they will be collecting more than they collect today. Where VAT is over-charged or wrongly charged, make refund payment possible and easy. If company tax is 10% big companies will avoid false financials and small companies will pay better. Overall, with friendly schemes Nigeria will earn more from taxes. |
There is a major problem that they need to solve. If that is not done people will have doubts about any promise they are making. |
When and where did Pastor Adeboye say so? |
Looking for hope and assurance? Call on Jesus. People have suffered worse misfortunes and have later found true hope and assurance in truly knowing the Lord. 18 years of courtship just does not make any sense anyway. But if they were unmarried and the man has gone to make vows with someone else, the only thing to say to the woman is - There is hope, there is future. But, I appeal to you not to put all your trust in any man. Rather, trust the Lord to give you a future and a hope. God can give you a far better tomorrow. |
What is the role of these emirs and obas and ezes apart from using their offices to position themselves as chairmen of companies who use them in pushing dirty deals? |
Why would anyone compare Nigeria with Norway or Germany? There is no IOTA of common sense in doing so! The Senator's idea is too cosmetic and shows how far he is to reality. Nigeria has spent tons of billions of dollars in the last 2 decades and we are still not able to power common electric bulbs not to talk of motor vehicles. As we speak, people are investing heavily in refineries, and if you place a 2035 ban, would that not amount to total summersault? Norway and Germany have possibly not seen any outage in 50 years because they have more than enough electricity, so it makes sense for them to force cars to use the excess, so that they can save on fuel imports (from places like Nigeria). So, they will use what they have to manage what they need! To ban fossil fuel now will spell total doom for an economy like ours that still depends on it for sustenance. I actually would not expect a senator from Bayelsa to be pushing this idea. |
Ballon D'or. Definitely not for Ronaldo. And not for Messi. For once, give it to a keeper or a defender. Allison or Van Dyk. |
Now I know there is something amiss here. VENEZUALA where there is total anarchy? Does he know how many years it will take that country to get back? SUDAN - Which has hit a directionless motion? Libya started like them? While I agree there are challenges in Nigeria, I think it is somewhat out of place to be comparing us to these two countries. |
Current population of Nigeria is put at 201 million! So, should we start celebrating that a country with more than Six Trillion Naira in tax income is ready to receive 10 coaches? If one coach takes 20 people, that means we now have additional capacity for 200 people. When are we going to reach 200 million? Good step, but I think it is NOTHING to trump your chest about. |
ERORR404:How can that be true? The PM of some of the greatest countries are women - Germany, UK come to mind. There are leading banks in Nigeria with women either as CEO or as Chairpersons. Do you realize what it takes to get there? You should re-phrase your statement. People make their choices. There are male prostitutes just as you have female prostitutes. How many females have been arrested as armed robbers or kidnappers, compared to males? Gender has nothing to do with it. |
demo crazy. demo crazy on display. this is like a man waking up at 1 pm and organising photographers to take shots to celebrate a 'new' day! and then he goes to party from there. by the time the party is over he finds there are no drugs in the hospitals and the doctors have all moved to another clime where people wake up at 6a.m! demo crazy! |
Stop wasting our time. All of you politicians are largely the same. You make so much noise and achieve so little when you are given the position. Did this ex minister hear Prof Soyinka speak a few days ago? Their generation failed Nigeria. We had a president who spent 16 billion dollars to procure darkness and to enrich India and the other makers of transformers. 16 years and there was no remarkable difference in anything - education, health, power remained comatose. Then came the 'progressives' - what exactly is their plan, we dont know. Sadly, they dont realize that four years is gone already, and all they can talk about is that they are growing rice as if they are farmers! Ghana, next door, is crying out to Nigeria. WAKE UP from your coma, she says |
USA or UK with so many medical schools wont dare say this! Does this minister understand what he is saying? Does he have statistics? Sometimes our politicians speak like they wake up early to drink something! |
Atiku claiming Adamawa as his state of origin all these while is tantamount to claiming that he is neither from Jigawa nor Sokoto, and became a citizen of Adamawa when Jada was ceded to Nigeria! The next question then is - Can he contest as President? Let us allow the courts to interpret. |
Confusionists. Failed generation. |
Atiku just admitted that he was born in Cameroun and only moved back to Nigeria. I am not a legal expert. But now, I think he has to prove that his parents were truly Nigerian and that the parents did not claim to be Camerounians while they lived there. How does he do that? It is further complicated by the fact that he has been claiming Adamawa as his state of origin. That part of Adamawa that he has been claimimg became Nigeria only by plebiscite. He has just submitted a major testimony against himself that he was not born Nigerian and only became Nigerian after the referendum which made his part of Adamawa part of Nigeria! The constitution of Nigeria stipulates you must be Nigerian by birth to become President. Seems a masterstroke to even stop him from ever contesting again. |
prince3009:There are electric cars in Lagos. Once people realize it is good economics they will follow the route.... We dont need any laws banning or unbanning! |
Observer007:Thanks. This the common sense way to go. These law makers are jobless. Of all the things in Nigeria begging for attention they are here talking about electric cars. Where are the laws to make certain lands only accessible for agriculture? What are the laws to make agric lands affordable, so as o promote massive emplyment in that sector? Where are the laws to prohibit multiple taxation? Many more... |
Funny. I dont know how Ben Bruce is thinking. You want to kill the mainstay of your economy by law. To enact such a law will mean that companies will stop investing in refining petrol in Nigeria in the next few years. Really funny proposition to say the least. Coming at a time Dangote is building the world'ss largest refinery in Nigeria. What do you call this now? Complete absence of common sense. |
Like for Saraki Share for Buhari Buhari this Saraki that Gullible shallow minds are ever busy praising or abusing men (whichever suits them) but while that is going on Buhari and Saraki are sharing toasts and teas! Get to work, you e-rats. Dont let cheap data steal your future. Stop wasting your time commenting on men who have achieved great things in their lives. You call PMB funny names... It is pointing back at you. Only dumb people would have allowed a so-called 'dumb-man' rule their country for more than 10 years in his (PMB's) lifetime. Seriously! |
