People like her will buy and read her book. |
Ajimobi again. The man that chased many Lagos companies out of Ibadan through insane levies and taxes! Keep at it. No wonder your city remains the largest but one of the poorest in Africa! These guys travel the whole world looking for foreign investors, but they are anti-investment even to their blood. What comes round goes round, governor! Election money you may get, but you leave your state in poverty and penury! |
Chai. Count me out - I have ported from APC now. |
qwertygeni:One of the problems with southerners is that we under-rate the Fulani north. They plan too far ahead. Bukola knew well ahead that he will contest one day to become President and would have found a way to get that NYSC. Madam did not have that kind of foresight - She went up quickly and went down rapidly! |
I hope these unnamed officials dont end up stealing our president one day! |
How can anyone in his right senses still be clamouring for this evil party? Has Lagos not suffered enough under the emperor? Lagos needs a virile enough is enough movement! Right now they think we all are mumus. Somebody has to wake up and tell them mumu don do! |
Enemies of Nigeria. They are as bad as the military if not worse. They speak like emperors. They bath in the market places at midnight. They think Nigeria can not breathe without them. They have looted the treasuries dry. They want to make us slaves. Their days are numbered. Nigerians, be wise. |
Otedola is on a 3-month vacation. When he returns the seat of the Governor will be waiting for him. Smart man! |
danduchi:This why you must have a PVC. Lagosians will decide who will be the next Governor or the state. |
I blame Lagosians for voting emperors everytime. Emperors are worse than the military. |
micolaj:Very unfair statements to make. She may have made her own errors but you must admit she has done well on her job. |
President GEJ sacked a Bayelsa man and replaced with a northerner as NSA. NSA is the top job in security circle, the very top job. Whichever way, the north rules! When north is there north rules, when south is there north rules. Blame the timid and treacherous south west and south east for that. For money, they easily sell their birth right. |
I think the report is very shallow. Some of these candidates in both parties have been very corrupt before 60% of Nigerians were born! Some of them can single-handedly build new teaching hospitals, equip them to the brim and donate to states but they wont do that. They will rather use the money to buy votes. Let us not be deceived again by 'anti-corruption' potential. Politicians will always take care of themselves (at least 90% of them). Nigeria needs candidates across the board that will commit to tackling the age-long problems of this country - structure, politics and policies! There is hardly any saints in Politics. I do not want to vote for the current people, and I am still waiting for a sound competent and credible person or persons. Kingsley Moghalu is on the short list! Let us see who else comes out. |
It is a spite on Lagosians. This is why Lagos remains as is despite all the humongous taxes. There is one man who thinks the entire state is his property. Sadly, people still continue to vote for him! |
Everyone should be ashamed after reading this - How many Mr Shree Kumar or how many Mr Rajan are in this country? Maybe three thousand. So, which of them? The administration has really lost it! |
djon78:Would they listen? I doubt very much. Their economic reasoning is in the range of minus. At a time they needed to liberalize and facilitate growth they have instead squeezed the whole place. They created 300,000 new jobs with 5000 naira stipend and forced millions with 500,000 pay to run aground! |
She is possibly just a victim of a rigged system. Perhaps someone sold the idea to her that they can get her a certificate in lieu and she fell for it. Perhaps. But that does not make it right. She might just need to apologize, quite her role and move on with her life. |
The old man is picking his words wisely, not wanting to put the blame on PMB. Yet, the PMB who went around Nigeria with Oshinbajo has forgotten the promises he made. If not, he should do a simple presentation and show us how many have been kept! He said he will be for nobody, yet today he will rather disappoint 190 million Nigerians than sack a corrupt lieutenant. Certificate forgery is alleged to be happening right under his nose, yet the man will ask the people to wait for investigation to be completed. it is going to take months to validate a simple piece of paper! Ports Authority will award contracts to a banned company! The people can shout if they like! Oil minister openly accuses NNPC of breaching procedure to dole out contracts into billions of dollars. The people can shout if they like. The economy is crawling. That is not their problem. In the midst of it international banks and telcos will pay fines so they can bleed and sack all their workers. The ruler possibly does not know! He is looking for 'saint' investors and China is where to get them. So, you have a situation where Nigerians in business are losing revenues, those who earn millions are losing jobs whereas our government is promising graduates 5000 naira!. Almajiri economics or what do you call that? Who is still talking 2019? With the INEC figures just released the president only needs 95% in 3 states and 25% in just a few others and election would have been won! I suspect that the exodus to the ruling party in the next few weeks will be unprecedented. The political elite have swindled the people while we slept. |
The president carefully chose his men! He knew what he was looking for. And his men have not disappointed him. We were fooled with a useless change mantra. We thought they were an alliance for progressive change but now they have proved to be an alliance for perpetual corruption. |
They have said nothing. This is so unprofessional. That agency is scrap. |
What did they use the funds for? |
Upon all the noise about change this is what you get. Nigerians need to travel to Togo, Ghana, Gambia and smaller West African countries (not to talk of Europe or Asia) to see how port operations are done. Your cargo will be out in three days in those places and people keep to the rules. Nigeria must restructure fast so that our economy and the nation does not bleed to death. Here in our dear country you will spend one week to pass through SON, another week waiting for inspection. One week to pass through the Customs post at the ports gate. Another one week through Apapa traffic! Then SON, Task Force and Customs will be waiting for you on the road thereafter. They need to see your papers again!!! Meanwhile they are all bust buying 55 million Naira nomination forms to become the next monarch of Aso Rock! The whole world is laughing at us. They are passing through here on a different kind of tourism! They are wondering loud - What is wrong with these 190 million people! |
And hey are trying hard to take out MTN! Do they care? |
Newboss:China would actually be a wrong reference. They have dumped anything called isolation because they know it will kill their economy like it did Venezuela. China is the biggest consumer of luxury goods today. Rolls Royce, Mercedes, Lamboghini etc have their biggest customer in China today. China is investing in other nations big time and have opened up to take investments as well. North Korea is the only country doing isolation and even that is partial. They trade with China and dare not provoke China. MTN is investing in Nigeria and employing Nigerians. What we need is also to go there and invest and also employ South Africans. We must internationalize. I agree with you. |
Folks, look at the big picture. I dont know MTN but I know they employ a lot of people and they put food on their tables and send their children to school. MTN must be one of the top 20 employers in this our destructive environment, where the political elite destroy everything around, yet their own children can live extremely lavish lifestyles in expensive capitals around the world. There are many offenders. Let the biliionaire politicians make public their taxes. You will be shocked how they pay next to nothing, where as some of them could have girlfriends in virtually all of the 36 states in the country. At whose expense you ask! The tax revenue in Nigeria is largely from salaries of workers. Yet, they can point to MTN as evading tax. Which MNC in Nigeria is not evading one levy or the other? Look at the big picture. If MTN crashes out who will take over their massive capital investments? The public will gain nothing. Some unintended beneficiary somewhere will take home the loot! And our economy may just sink deeper in the mud. Should we not look at the big picture? In the last two weeks, at least 2 international banks have been fined. And we have a whole army of politicians junketing the globe looking for 'global investors! Na so, in fact get ready to receive 100 Boeing 747 on daily basis, all arriving to come and invest! Big picture. If MTN goes, who takes over their goods? Definitely not the people crying uhuru here. |
Silly demands. Are they bent on robbing peter in order to pay Paul? Why do they want to kill MTN by all means? Shithole things? Must this all perverted congress destroy every interest except theirs. |
What is wrong with the black man? |
The president obviously does not understand immigration and why people do so. Think he has tried enough - There is no way the man should be allowed to contest again. I see APC losing big time in 2019 except they pick the right candidates. |
He has a point. The election should not have held. Seven out of 18 cannot be said to be a good number. I only blame him for not pulling out before that election took place. |

THERE IS NO TRIBE THAT IS NOT MARGINALIZED IN NIGERIA. THE MOST MARGINALIZED ARE THE NORTHERN PEOPLE, PARTICULARLY THE MIDDLE BELT PEOPLE WHO ARE NOW LARGELY DISTRESSED. SOME TRIBES WANT TO HAVE IT ALL AND WILL COMPLAIN AS LONG AS THEY DON'T GET THAT! COMPLAINTS ABOUT MARGINALIZATION WOULD MOST LIKELY CONTINUE UNTIL WE RE-STRUCTURE. IT IS NOT A CURSE. NIGERIAN CURRENT LEADERS AND PAST LEADERS WILL COMPLAIN ABOUT MARGINALIZATION UNTIL THEY SEIZE POWER, ONCE THEY ARE THERE THEY WILL START TO CAPITALIZE ON THE WEAK STRUCTURE (CALL IT CAPITALIZATION). OBASANJO, JONATHAN AND BUHARI HAVE ALL REAPED FROM THE CAPITALIZATION OF NIGERIA. ACTUALLY, NIGERIANS ARE THE ONES MARGINALIZING THEMSELVES, SINCE THEY WONT STOP CLAMOURING FOR THESE SAME LEADERS AND THEIR CRONIES AND ASSOCIATES. IF WE ARE WISE AS A PEOPLE WE WILL DEMAND (IN A LEGAL WAY) FOR THE COUNTRY TO BE RE-STRUCTURED EVEN BEFORE 2019! OTHERWISE, I DONT SEE ANYTHING WE WANT TO ACHIEVE WITH ANOTHER ELECTION BASED ON LIES. RE-STRUCTURE NOW. ENOUGH OF IGBO THIS, YORUBA THAT, HAUSA GO, FULANI COME! THESE SENTIMENTS HAVE PUT US IN CHAINS FOR TOO LONG. AND SOME PEOPLE HAVE BECOME TERRIBLY RICH AS A RESULT. |
