APC is finished because the performance of their 'national leader' in government is far far below expectation. APC party chairman does not seem to carry any weight. The party is in tatters, thanks to the approach by the 'leader' that was even openly condemned by his wife! To think you can easily wish away Tinubu in SW? That is a miscalculation. Tinubu has his excesses, but he performs. He nominated Osinbajo, who by all standards is a thorough presidential material (dont mind that this FG has not given him a chance) and also Ambode (after Fashola) who is really making good moves in Lagos. Tinubu performed well as governor and has set the standard in the country since then. Right now the seeming poor performance of PMB and his seeming drive for 2019 is the undoing of both APC and CPC. New parties may emerge, otherwise, PDP will snatch the centre again and finally nail APC. Akeredolu did not need this explanation. He only worsened the matter and opened wounds, even before stepping into office. He may realise soon that a tree cannot make a forest. Going to 2 years, his sponsor has been making the same mistake and he has lost popularity across the country. Why open wounds when you can heal it? This is not a good sign! |
omofunaab:True. And you can be sure that the biggest agitators will be the first to vote to remain. The genuine and exposed ones believe there is strength in being together but the political pundits will not stop using the gullible to create confusion and in the process ascend to posts and/or make money. |
Stop calling everyone a pastor. Call them 'self-acclaimed'! There is no where in the Bible where people are given concotion to drink. Anyone giving concotions to people cannot claim to be a pastor in bibilcal terms. |
All at a time when a past president who knows what he was saying accused our parliament as a house of unarmed robbers.....when budget padding sends billons into private pockets......when no one knows what the senate budgets or spends.......when some senators employ up to 100 special assistants......when Jibrin accused his colleagues of sharing government funds......why cant they go and tax these hudreds of billions? |
Where did the government agents get the money shared at the Ondo election? Do they tax those election bribes? They just keep collecting....as I write no light!!! It is always convenient to compare with 'other countries' when they want to tax but they NEVER do when they talk about benefits and amenities! You send your children to PRIVATE school, light up your house with PRIVATE generators, provide water for yourself with PRIVATE bore-hole, hire security for your community on PRIVATE basis.....fix the road to your street PRIVATELY..and yet more and more tax on PUBLIC basis. No wonder dasuki had a lot to share to those people as alleged. And on those sharings, there were NO taxes! |
Man proposes....... PMB should face the business of governance instead of scheming for a second term....He needs to be told that his government is grossly underperforming and has become very unpopular. So many people who voted for him have ported..and they will vote 'Anyone But Buhari -ABB' in any new election. |
Even the book is ill-advised. |
Dulux on humans! |
Treating Malaria in UAE? That is self-assasination - They dont know what Malaria is over there. Just pray he gets well quick and stop the lies. |
What does this man do for a living? |
Nigeria should really be proud of this couple. Simple, hardworking and modest. |
Its called the CRISIS of PARENTING. Or call it CRISIS of FATHERS! |
5 MILLION NAIRA PER PLOT!!!!!! GREED! WHEN THAT CHURCH GOT THERE NO ONE WILL EVEN PAY 50,000 PER PLOT. GREED!!! |
If it is true send the details to the Police. Not enough sending photos to NL. |
dabossman:At a point in time Italian Lira was like toilet paper. They had to make drastic laws to stem the influence of the mafia. They changed their currency, leaving a window for people to move cash into the banks. Their currency has now recovered fully. The Senate has not seen the proposed amendments. Nobody has seen a draft. They have just said it is in the works and the objective is to curtail the habit of keeping USD cash in Nigerian homes. Genuine workers and business people have USD cash in dom accounts, maybe they keep on hand as well. But the looters seem to have billions stored up. Is that ok for our country? Indeed anyone should be allowed to keep his money in the currency he wants. We need to be liberal and to promote enterprise but not to encourage lawlessness and looting. Corruption is so endemic in Nigeria and its killing the nation. When a patient is sick he must be ready to take bitter pills! Our country is like a patient in intensive care right now! In the recent Nigerians were screaming to high heavens that they needed a benevolent dictator (like they had in Ghana - and mind you, Ghana is now rising and rising) and now, they are complaining and screaming, they dont want any draconian law. We are running in circles. A sick patient that complains the pill is bitter and wont take it might find himself where he does not want. May it not become too late for this nation. |
omohayek:I follow your argument. It is just that Nigeria is peculiar in so many respects. We do things that are abnormal and things you wont hear off anywhere else. It is only in Nigeria that a state governor can corner a big part of his state's money, change it to dollars and keep in his house! Or where else will a judge keep one million dollars in his house. CBN is not seizing funds that are kept in the bank. They are just looking to get the dollars into the banking system, not in roofs and wardrobes! Will moral suasion work? I dont think so. We have become more of a mafia state, where the rich are very lawless. Miltancy and terrorism is funded with dollars kept in houses. Of course, the senators will reject it. How else will they keep their 'sharings'? I think Nigeria cannot afford extreme liberalism. It has not worked and may never work. No one knows how much of SUD is sitting in homes of Nigerians, particular government workers, leaders and civil servants! As long as we save in USD and keep the USD in homes, our Naira will continue to suffer. |
The LOOTERS now have a voice! |
How much do you expect a good professor to earn in a year? N600,000? I think thats how much a primary school teacher should earn in good times. University education is expensive - to hire profs, build labs, sponsor research etc. Church is not government! Their universities should at least meet the cost of running them. Freeby mentality is very unprodutive! |
saintmark88:Nigeria has a problem. So many young grdauates are uneducated and do not care to research things. They think people are intelligent just because they oppose government ideas. The USD30 billion is not a loan to FG but the cumulative of loans being sought by various levels of government for development purposes over a medium term period. How does a country develop its infrastructure if it does not take loans? Even individuals borrow money to buy houses - If they have to save they will wait forever! They will remain tenants just because they have not learnt the art of financing. Dont mind all those commenting here, and just opposing FG for nothing. Fayose just talks. He is a man to be ignored. He only takes care of peoples' stomachs and cares less about their future! |
Icecomrade:Agree. FG should give allgraduates N200k to start a business. If 10% of them succeed the country will be better for it and there will be jobs and jobs. |
FSR - Forever spewing rubbish! |
People Without Principle Party of Nigeria. PWP. Never Again! |
El Rufai has his own issues but he is 100 times more patriotic than the other guy! |
greenermodels:You really make sense. Courts exist to hear the 2 sides of the story. There are too many uneducated and unexposed people writing nonsense in social media. I read one that was even cursing anyone that does not support the woman. Only God knows what is behind all these. No one should crucify the man until his side of the story is said. Some evil women can go that length to make an untrue story just to nail an innocent man. And some women can be complex. Have you seen a woman who is so fond of staring at you endlessly and you try to look away. And then you make the mistake of one day saying hello as you pass by, only for the lady to start to make stories that you want to chase her! Anyway, dont pass judgements too quickly because you really have not heard the other side. |
Which is better, old ideas or corrupt ideas? Was she not a senator? Are they not the ones that fostered new but wickedly corrupt ideas that nearly pushed Nigeria into abyss? |
I think that quite a number of the people commenting here are spewing rubbish. Try taking out 16,000 dollars out of USA or Canada without full declaration/justification and see what they will do to you? Not only will the funds be seized you may even be prosecuted for money laundering. Those ones are even better. You cannot export 100 dollars out of China or India without full justificatin of what the money is meant for. Here in Nigeria, forex flows freely as if we are jankara nation. In Nigeria, someone is caught with 6million dollars cash at home. A senator was alleged to have lost 300,000 dollars to domestic staff. Millions of dollars were found in judges' homes. Not even a bank in Europe or America is allowed to keep 300,000 dollars in its vault at any time!!! Our currency keeps losing value because embezzlers and bribe takers keep buying forex to keep at home. CBN is right. They must find a way to stop keeping dollars in their houses when banks dont have dollars to sell to importers. They must stop the terrible habit of people moving hundreds of thousands of dolars cash accross the borders. No sane nation allows that to happen. None. People write on NL out of ignorance sometimes. |
A northerner once told me that Atiku can hardly win presidency because the northerners would not vote for him. He said that his choices were always wrong and so they donot see him as someone who is smart. Could that be true? Three days ago you abuse OBJ, yesterday you went to prostrate for him (before public glare) and then you turn around again to say the man no get sense! Haba. Does Atiku think that someone like BAT would support him, seeing how another northerner has betrayed BAT? |
Spiritual bondage, you mean? The woman has infested the man with strange spirits. The man too has done the same. People get into more and more bondage when they ignore the way, the truth and the life who has been FREELY given to all men. Accept salvation in Jesus Christ today and become free. |
Was Hillary any better? I dont think so! Trump won because Americans do not like Hillary and the corrupt tendencies linked to the Clintons. Period. Abati, have you refunded? |
I wish that Nigeria's past leader will appeal to his kinsmen to stop protesting. That is needed here than advising American to stop anti-Trump marches. |
Jonathan advising Americans? Common! Who told him Americans rejected the results? Hillary called DT to congratulate him the moment it was obvious he had won. Obama invited him to the White House the day after. So, our past president is minding those few thousands doing a march to voice their opposition? Have any of the anti-Trump supporters blown any pipeline? I do not see his point at all. Americans hardly know anyone called Jonathan. Our oga should spend time to appeal to his own kinsmen to stop blowing pipelines in protest, almost two years after the Nigeria's election was won and lost. |
