HE MAY ACTUALLY HAVE PAID $400,000 FOR A $4000 CAR!!! YOU KNOW THESE GUYS. MONIES YOU DONT WORK WORK CAN BE SPENT VERY RECKLESSLY! DINO MAY HAVE BEEN DUPED BY ONE OF THOSE OYINBOS WHO THINK NIGERIAN LEADERS ARE FANTASTICALLY CORRUPT. SOME OYINBOS KNOW HOW TO PLAY FAST. |
Are some of the people commenting here listening to themselves? If they dont sell, you abuse. If they sell you still abuse. If they sell secrtely, you abuse that they want to sell our aseets secretly. Now they do it by open bid so that it can be transparent, yet you still abuse. They sell 2, you abuse. If they sell 9, you will abuse that they want to sell all our assets. When they were not selling you cried, now that they are selling you are yelling! What a generation! |
MKO4ever:Those guys are merciless and draculean. The VIO is one agency that needs to be shut down. It is filled with FAT BELLIED men who chase after jeeps and newer cars and never arrest jallopies who cant afford to pay those fines. VIO is useless. If FG means well they should scarp some of these useless agencies and send their staff to the GYM or to farms to sweat it out. |
mrvitalis:How do you then fund fuel importation? At a steep rate, petrol could sell for N250 per litre. Will that not spell disaster for Nigeria? Can you imagone how many businesses will close down? PMB did not want to devalue in the first place but the so called 'experts' and 'foreign investors' who more often are foreign scavengers pushed him to do it. The same promise of investments has not happened even after a 100% devaluation! Nigeria has gained nothing for the devaluation, other than the people are now suffering than ever before! China nevers listens to EU and World Bank and US when it comes to their economy. They find and use their own solutions. That is why they have been so strong. Oyinbo would not mind colonising us again, you know! |
I am not a fan of APC but PDP is a No No. PDP was and is still a people destoying party! |

How does that help to end recession? Truly, can Nigeria ever make good progress with these leaders who dont know anything other than power show and self-enrichment? |
They are back! They may have spent all the 'padded loot' and have to create some more noise to be able to raise in new loot. Nigeria needs political reforms much as we need economic reforms. PMB should not wate time. You can hardly make any progress with the bunch of most highly dishonourable members who just dont want to understand anything! |
Jokerman:YES. You may accuse Yorubas of anything but they are not myopic! |
He is using his genius in the wrong direction. I pray that He will find a new path in the Lord and that his genius will be used instead to bless people. He will surely be better rewarded beeing a blesser and a solution. |
Q & A AS A DOCTOR WHO WOULD YOU ATTEND TO FIRST, A LEADER WHO IS ALLEGED TO HAVE LOST HIS MEMORY OR THE FELLOW WHO KEEPS WRITING LIKE HE HAS LOST HIS SENSE? |
What do you call it when you ahve such hefty funds hidden in other people's names? This borders on money laundering I think. She may just have set herself up by claiming those funds. But the problem is that these guys always think that they are above the law and that laws are set up for the poor! |
Can we have an election before 2019? The party I voted for and even campaigned for now looks like an unserious lot! Chai! Nigerian sports has entered one chance! |
Government should.........! Why must everything be government? Yes, there is recession but can government be everything? |
Extremely careless statement! |
When people stop spending recession bites harder when they start spending recession stops and growth starts. The money is there but those who have are neither spending nor investing. That is the root cause of recession. Even the FG who has budgtted 6 trillion. What have they spent? When the FG is not releasing, and the rich are not spending you are bound to have recession. It has very little to do with oil price. FG should know better. The current Finance Ministry is desperate to cut and cut. That is what is sparking recession! The minister also shows a wrong body language. That fuels it. Dont get me wrong. She is a good hand but I think she will do a great job in another ministry (such as Budget & Planning or Police Affairs). Nigerians have loads of dollars in the dorm accounts and in foreign accounts. That is more than what oil is currently fetching. You need to be savvy economically to unleash those idle funds to foster growth. The current administration is looking in the wrong direction for answers. They should find ways to inspire confidence. When Hiddink took over at Chelsea last season, they started winning again. It was the same team that was losing under Jose. Re-shuffle your ministers and get one or two who can greatly inspire CONFIDENCE. |
AnonyNymous:Thanks for your post. Iran I have followed a bit. Not sure their model will work here as they do not have our kind of open ended democracy. I do agree there are very good steps taken for the long term but if those short term measures are not quickly put in place, the antagonists may carry the votes again and return the country to where it was. All successful change has a strong coalition pushing it through. Does the current regime have that coalition? I pray it does. APC is still yet to run like a cohesive party. The Parliament and The Executive seem to be running on opposite directions. There has been a alot of parade and charade at CCB and in some courts in the last 15 months but hardly any conclusions. The top has to change. There has to be discipline in leadership. So far we can see the glowing examples of PMB and PYO. Who else? Where is the coalition? Where is the sense of urgency? I pray the campaign succeeds. It will take a miracle. |
We are waiting to see the details unveiled. Nigerians voted change and they expected it 18 months ago but sadly things have gone very sour in the land. While the people may believe that PMB means well, there is no evidence that he has followership in his party in terms of doing well. Has there been any chnage in the house of assemby? Has there been any change in the judiciary? If no, what can the poor masses do to effect any true change? Unless you be the change, from the top, dont expect any person to follow you! The fish can only rot from the head. Once the head is clean, the body will heal. The head means the 3 arms of government! As long as padding continues at the top and the leaders continue with business as usual events like this will fail to gain speed. Information Ministry in Nigeria must go beyond lying and making cheap propaganda- This is necessary for change to happen. Right now the people are hungry. They say a hungry man is an angry man. So they may not hear any preaching. Change means transparency at the top - How much does Nigeria have? How much cash has been seized? How much is being spent on what? If the government wants private entities to decalre results why are they not doing so? So much noise about budget - so little information on actual. Nothing has changed. Let our leaders be the change. We need transparency. The Senate makes all the noise about budgets every year, yet Nigerians donot know what the Senate spends, how and on what? Be the change. To lead well you must listen and you must speak. Do not just speak alone. Nigerians are yelling out - Fix the economy. It is not enough to say FG has a plan. What is the plan? There are some very incompetent and clueless ministers handling some very key portfolios. They speak well but achieve so little. This administration is creating new 'diezanis', people who are so sure of themselves but are rapidly destroying the reputation of government by the way they speak. The idea is good and should be commended. But I just wonder if anyone is hearing you. Even those seated in that room are possibly there to fill up the seats. Do they believe you? Will they support you? Please fix the economy urgently and stop blaming past administrations. |

This is very correct. But it seems they are not listening. |
PassingShot:My brother, I agree with you and your approach. But the truth must be told that the FG is not handling this well enough. The country is not new to low oil prices. There are companies now whose income has halfed. Have they closed shop? Excuse is an evidence of failure. The current tenure was not prepared that is why it took them 6 months to select a very weak team. Right now, they do not seem to have any plans for the economy. Their body language, arrogance and their lopsided approach is driving away investments, and the economy is shrinking fast. Even APC stalwarts have started saying this to the FG. It is not just about oil prices but about how you manage it. I actually feel that if oil is still selling above USD100 per barrel Nigeria will still be in recession now! If you have all the money in the bank and you dont have plans you could end up losing value! |
PassingShot:I used to share this sentiment but I have since ported. The report here shows the cluelessness of the FG. It is as simple as that. They have no plan for the economy, 15 months after they were sworn in. 1. Budget is passed. There is no need for the house to push for spending. 2. Emergemcy poweers are NOT needed. Government people just need to roll up their sleaves and work! They already have a lot of powers. 3. There is power to send home players (ministers and officers) that are not performing. Forget about automatic shirts in today's world. A striker that cannot score does not deserve a shirt. 4. The report shows how weak Finance Ministry has become. The minister there is posting ZERO performance. She speaks well, but does she mean well? Does she do well? A striker is no paid to dribble but to score. 5. FG is talking about 3.4 trillion seized cash and assets - What is the cash element? Forget about the assets - no one will buy property from FG today when they know they are seized from politicians. And why cant government be transparent? How much cash do they have? 6. Communications is at the lowest. They are either not talking at all or talking only about 'future plans'. They are talking to themselves. 7. President Jonathan made mistakes. Stop demonizing him, because you are already making your own mistakes. 8. While they fight 'old corruption', new corruption has already started. Its no secret, SLS spoke about it. BDC operators also told us why Naira is getting weaker. Today's looting politicians are ready to buy at any price! FG looks on cluelessly. 9. Nigerian economy is import based. You cannot make it an industrial economy overnight. If you technically ban all imports, as you are doing now with the exchange rate policies, you will throw tens of millions of Nigerians into the labour market. Half of those may become militants. How would they handle that? Dont they have enough problems on hand? 10. The middle income class you should protect is thinning out. Go to the airports, you'll see how many are emmigrating for good! FG needs help from economic experts, like a patient that needs urgent surgery. If you dont trust the local ones why dont they go abroad and seek for help? The current head of the Bank of England is an American! They sought him out to help. Pride can kill. We need help, so go and get it. Dont set your own house on fire out of pride and arrogance. Election was over close to 2 years now. Dont be deceived, if there is an election today, the current government will lose out monumentally! |
abumeinben:The coach is turning herself to the new 'Diezani'. The woman who talks so much and listens to no one. She sounds like she has all the answers yet she does not seem to know what she is saying. One who is at the bottom of the league half way into the season and is still telling fans she will win the cup! Presido ought to do the needful, so she does not singlehandedly sink the boat, just as the former diezani did! |
With the amount of pressure on leadership if they do not learn to laugh they may not live through it! If there are dullards at all, they are probably on NL. Jonathan came and did his best. He also made so many mistakes. PMB is there, he has made some gains and he is also making mistakes. If you are there tomorrow, be sure you will also make mistakes. This matter is beyond 1+1 (which by the way some think is 11)! Stop the insult! Make constructive comments and criticisms and stop abusing people. You are not better than the people you are insulting! PMB is not getting it on the econony. On security, there is a lot of progess. People are not bombed to death on daily basis as it was a year ago. On the fight against corruption, there is perhaps some progress. At least money is not shared anyhow anymore! On the economy, PMB told Nigerians there was no good argument to devalue the naira. The same people who said he was wrong are the same people now cursing him for accepting to devalue the naira! The problem with Nigeria is Nigerians. So, the leaders can laugh away....! We need good education in the country. Too many people are unaware, unexposed and largely uneducated. |
His like should have earned CON or GCON ahead of some of the fellows with questionable wealth who have been getting those awards lately. I hope that PMB will do better and not award our national honours to highest bidders and crooked politicians. |
nwanna89:Very true. It is just that the money can be channelled into projects with lasting impact. This FG should learn that and spend quickly. But I think they are facing internal saboteurs! And they are possibly making the same mistake ex President Jonathan made, not having enough courage to remove non-performers, saboteurs and deadwoods. Secondly, Nigerians should come to terms that the country is virtually broke. They have little money to spend. Income has dropped drastically and Nigeria is carrying too heavy overheads. |
And they would have shared 100 million dollars among themselves to mark the successful hosting of the young man! Also, a state dinner costing . That era of waste is gone forever hopefully. |
Lifestone:i think the problem is that this is not just a demand/supply driven pricing. It is fuelled by corruption. There are supplies to the market through funny channels as alleged. There is also a demand at any price, by those who are sharing money. So, the gap will always be there, moreso when we dont have a windfall to force a stable price through massive supply as SLS did during his tenure. |
Wither Nigeria? |
The Lord Himself said - by their fruits you shall know them. That means that true pastors will show by their fruits. It means also that anybody can call himself a pastor and call his sitting room church. That does not necessarily qualify. The Lord still has His own pastors and they are possibly still many. go by the fruits. |
I thought there was news that the scuffle was between the man and his neighbour called Buhari and apparently has nothing on earth to do with PMB. So what kind of attention seeking is this? |
You cannot re-invent the wheel! |
