Pearl1910: Wao...so this disabling thing is true, then what's the need of the tracker na Na wa ooo. I use MTN in all my cars, was told ones its disabled, even if u find and remove the tracker car will still not start. I think this old fashioned security is still the best (combined with tracker) , where car will trip off after few minutes the driver's side / any door is opened (and closed) except the hidden security button is pressed. |

Crvrider: I know that if you increase the speed of something it requires an equally amount of energy to compensate for that extra speed. The same way your body will need more energy if you run than when you walk.
But then again the question is which energy source will need to work harder to compensate for that increment?
Anyways this is what google has to say on this matter: Well my own argument is based on my experience. You can also try it now, put on your ac (on low) wait for a while then increase to the highest and watch if it affects your rpm. I think that should end the discussion. I'm tired already I'm not commenting again lol |

1daboi: @ the bolded, they work because the alternator is rolling and giving them energy. Please note that THE ALTERNATOR IS AS FREE AS Bleep! IT DOESN'T GIVE ANY STRESS TO THE ENGINE!!!! Okay |

1daboi: common dude, all these you mentioned here can work when you engine is turned off! They are electricals. They are powered by your battery! Gosh!!!
N:b, your battery is charged by your alternator. Your alternator doesn't add any load to your engine at all. That's why your car can start even without a serpentine belt that turns the alternator. Yes they will work, for a limited time because the car has two sources of power. The battery and the engine, to the best of my knowledge, the engine is the main source while the battery is the backup. If electrical operations are solely on the battery as you claimed, how come they still work when you remove the battery while the engine is running? The bolded only proved the engine doesn't depend on the alternator and not the other way round which is what you intended to prove |

1daboi: actually, increasing the fan doesn't give load to the engine. Reason is because fan is electrical. Meaning it's runs on the energy on the battery. But when you turn your ac on, there's a magnet that attracts the compressor plate, causing the internal components of the compressor to start pumping gas. Thereby causing the engine to do more work. The fan is part of hvac under the dashboard. It's controlled by electric current. While Compressor magnetic force puts more load on your engine. I hope I made sense. Drops mic Yeah you made sense. But the battery also gets that energy from somewhere.. the alternator, which draws power from the engine lol. No be my work sha so I may be wrong |

Gentlelife50: So the answer is increasing AC doesn't necessarily translate to more fuel consumption, abi! What gives load to the engine is the compressor, like I said whenever it picks. Everything you use in the car that is powered by the car consumes fuel in the end, it may be so little that you won't notice but it doesn't mean it doesn't cost extra fuel. From your headlamps to your wiper down to rolling up and down the windows. Even your car stereo or that extra baggage in the booth. The electrical parts draw power from the alternator which in turn draws power from the engine. |

Gentlelife50: I gave you something to do, turn on your ignition don't start car and switch on the fan and see if it won't work Yes that load is on the battery, once the engine starts it automatically transfers to the engine. Why do you think the headlights are brighter when the engine is running compared to when the engine is off, especially if the battery is already on it's way back to heaven |

sharpk007: Very simple and basic Elementary physics, the extra energy for the fan to increase it's speed is from where??
The higher the rate of combustion the increased in fuel pumped into the injector.
I always laugh when you say with AC ur fuel does not consume more fuel...
But if your engine is good, You might not notice it because the compressor picks at intervals It actually consumes more fuel with AC on compared to if AC is off (and windows are not rolled down). Most people come to the bolded conclusion because once AC is off they will have to wind down, and the drag on the vehicle replaces the pressure that AC would have put on the engine so fuel consumption remains almost the same |

Gentlelife50: I have told you, it's the fan under the evaporator that increases. Okay do this to be sure, turn on your ignation but don't start the car then turn on the fan. Likely the fan will work even without the engine on but the AC that works with compressor will need the engine to be on for it to work. I didn't say it's not the fan, I said increasing the fan's speed still puts extra loads on the engine, and the more the load the more the fuel consumption I guess |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by deedee44: 6:06pm On Feb 28, 2021 |
Gentlelife50: I don't know why you guys always cry about using AC, anyways this is what happens when you increase your AC. There's a fan under the evaporator usually under the dashboard and that's where the filter can be located. It's the speed of that fan that is usually increased whenever you increase the knob from 1 to 2, so it have nothing to do with the speed of the engine and in effect won't make the engine consume additional fuel.
The engine gets a little bit higher anytime the compressor picks, not when you increase the fan I think the workload on the engine increases as the fan speed increases. I noticed this when I was driving one Corolla with faulty cooling system, anytime the weather was hot and I increased the fan speed to 3, engine temperature would start rising |
