adekolaelect:Your written English is just as abominable as your medieval ideology and religion. |
nuclearboy:Ol boy, quite an age |
Curious345:Sharrap! |
This thing is going to rob mankind of about a decade of living. |
AfroKnight:There is no difference between enacting Shara Law in a state and adopting a state religion. |
Nigeria should stop this ridiculous nonsense. We really need to get our act together. Why on Earth are we enforcing religious laws in a supposedly secular country? The incongruity of the whole thing is that the 1999 constitution provides that Nigeria is a secular country and prohibits the governments in Nigeria from adopting any religion as state religion. But the same nonsensical constitution then goes ahead to make provision for Sharia courts. Even as a counter balance to Customary Courts in the south, this is still a problem because it is based on religion and once you do that you are introducing religion into the functions of the state. Furthermore the adoption of Sharia law by most Northern States is a direct violation of the Constitution because it amounts to the adoption of a state religion which is prohibited by the constitution. But in Nigeria, any body who even challenges this in court as being unconstitutional will have immediate cause to fear for his life. Such is the fanatical and extremist fear and intimidation with which Islamic law is wantonly propagated. The State should stay away from all things to do with religion - all religions, Christian, Muslim, Traditional. et all. There should be nothing like the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission or its Muslim equivalent. They should be scrapped. Religion is a personal affair and should have nothing to do with the state. All religious holidays should be scrapped - perhaps in lieu of such, individuals should be permitted a given number of days annually in addition to their regular leave from work which they may use for personal celebrations related to such. The state should withdraw completely from anything to do with religion and recognize it as a strictly personal matter, period. Why do we have a "National Mosque" and "National Church" - when we have not built a National Shrine? Is that not discrimination of a kind? We really need to stop this nonsense. |
Jakumo:Good sir, methinks you greatly underestimate the variety, the length, the breadth, and the sheer weirdness of sexual proclivities among mankind. Overall your take reads like a manual of objectively perfect sexual preference, whereas there has never been anything even remotely objective about the animal instinct of sexuality: which leads in such diverse directions that whilst John trembles at the sight of swine, James cannot be excited by anything less than the orangutan. Remember too, that male-dominated culture alone over the ages is what has suppressed the expression of female sexuality. That time is long past, for much of the world. Just bear in mind that even the old mamas are not immune to the call of nature, wherefore some seek toy boys. As they perfectly well should, if they so desire, in my view. And yes, for many young men that older woman is a fantasy. Also while I understand that you are likely speaking with some measure of fun and gamely sarcasm, beware some of what you have written may border on the sexist, borne of male chauvinism. Finally, as far as I know, women hit their sexual prime between the ages of 35 and 45. This is a very well known fact. and frighten livestock unnecessarily. This man! This almost threw me off my bed with laughter! You are something else! |
LordReed:. . . Infinite field of potentialities? PS: Recall I have said before that whatever instigated this world appears sadistic to me. Even morbid. |
OtemAtum:You know, the mind is a wondrous thing. It could be selective amnesia, or simply a normal fact of you forgetting where or when you had previously read about or learnt about such people. There is much that the subconscious retains that we are unaware of. This however, is not to say that I am unaware of the power of dreams. |
OtemAtum:Have you ever considered the possibility that you are living in fantasy? Or that you suffer from some sort of mental illness? (Again, no offense intended, |
OtemAtum:Sure you are a human being. Was speaking tongue in cheek there. But while we are here, perhaps its a good chance for me to ask a few questions. - Because I always thought it would take a great deal of energy and commitment to so studiously write all that you wrote and defended. So much so that one was led to question your sanity or seriousness (no offense intended please). So the questions are - - Were you serious about the DOCTUFOS or just having a blast - If serious, how did you obtain the knowledge Or perhaps I should create a thread in the religion section for this. |
OtemAtum:Are you not the one who wrote the DOCTUFOS - or is that another Otem. |
LordReed:If, just if - each soul or mind is a channel through which the creative force experiences itself, then it might stand to reason that each experience must perforce be unique. |
Bluezy13:I am not sure that there is any such word as "unbelieve." |
Parenthood is a most peculiar thing. Child-Worship is really a thing. For many parents, their children are almost equivalent to God - aside from either being geniuses or perfectly good souls. |
OtemAtum:Fully agreed! PS - Do Aliens play football? |
Kenneth10110:The Baxter example you pointed to was time wasting at the end of a match and does not count in this discussion as no one is expected to play a full match like that. Even at that, you didnt mention how long he held possession. |
Kenneth10110:I dont know that it was up to 30 seconds. And vs Kahn certainly wasnt up to ten seconds. Dont mistake any long dribble for thirty seconds. Its possible to hold on to the ball for thirty secondsHardly, but even if so, any player who does so will receive a tongue lashing from the coach and probably lose his shirt. Auba's case he his a lazy striker and looses the ball so easilyYou should have just said this and left it at that. |
Kenneth10110:Even the best (goals) come up to around 10 - 11 seconds bro. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/sep/15/the-knowledge-what-is-the-longest-spell-a-footballer-has-sole-possession-before-scoring Stop living in dreamland. |
Kenneth10110:Not for 30 seconds. Never. Calm yourself and set a stopwatch and be silent while 30 seconds pass. You have mistaken 30 seconds for five or ten seconds. Alternatively, fetch me a clip where a footballer does that. The only one i can think of is one ridiculous goal by Okocha at Frankfurt. And anyone who tries that these days will be benched for life. |
babsbolad:All of these are factors that would interest Entrepreneurs, not football fans. |
Kenneth10110:No one holds on to the ball for 30 seconds. |
kelly72:Good heavens. This disease of tribalism has really gone way too far. - I am not Yoruba - I am not Igbo - I am not a fan of Buhari - I am not a fan of Tinubu - I never Voted Buhari - I would never vote Tinubu - I am not a Tiwa Savage fan: do not even know her music - I am not an Onyeka Onwenu fan - do not even know her music You see, the person I was responding to made a list of past female Nigerian great musicians and what they would be remembered for - in which he included Onyeka Onwenu. It instantly sprang to mind that Onyeka Onwenu sang for Abacha. That's all. You really should be careful about this trajectory of thinking which instantly led you to conclude that I am Yoruba and that I (and/or my "village people" ) support both Buhari and Tinubu. In short, once a person criticizes anything about any Igbo person, in your worldview, that person is automatically Yoruba. And probably vice versa. Is this not a strange way to reason, even in your own sight? I hope you can now see clearly how corrosive this mindset can be for both you and anyone else. Please stop it. |
ppogba:For me, Onyeka wrecked her legacy by singing for Abacha"s ambition. |
BigBashiru:While I endorse most of what you have said, you do know that Nigeria has over three hundred languages - and is more ethnically and linguistically diverse than the whole of Europe put together? You cant say same about SA and Rwanda. |
plaetton:Plaetton, at almost two years of observation, I think the jury is in with respect to the question of Covid-19 in sub-saharan Africa. It is manifestly evident - notwithstanding the notorious poor record keeping in these parts - that Covid simply does not have the same degree of fatalities in sub-saharan Africa as it did/ as it has in Europe/ North America (with the possible exception of South Africa). There rests in this critical scientific questions to be objectively interrogated with open minds for the future benefit of humanity. Nonetheless, you still make a number of good points with your take, prime among which is the ratio of Nigerian travelers to Foreign travelers on flights in and out of Nigeria. This aside, there are several undeniable question marks that may be objectively raised regarding the global response to Covid-19. Not surprising though, as it would not be mankind, if any good crisis was allowed to go to waste without turning a profit. |
Ishilove:I started following the guy years ago once I noticed his prowess with the pen. Its truly exceptional. |
Jakumo:While most desirable, and most wished for, I cannot say that this statement is either historically or presently true. |
advocatejare:Do you watch David Wood of Acts 17 Apologetics? |
LordReed:It primarily centres around that (and some consequential incongruities), but do note that that alone is significant enough. And that is because the core existential questions - "why something instead of nothing" and "can something arise from nothing" - are probably the most central and important questions in existential thought throughout the ages. They are therefore not questions to be approached either lightly or flippantly - and certainly not with an egregious degree of dishonesty, dis-ingenuity or blatant mendacity and incongruity. When ancient peoples came up with the concept of zero, they knew they were referring to the absence of any quantity or element whatsoever. When the existential question "can something arise from nothing" is asked, we also know that by nothing, we mean no-thing whatsoever. For anyone to address that very question by pointing to something - anything - an existent quantity or element of any kind, and then defining that thing as "nothing" in order to answer this question is the height of ridiculousness. That that person is "acclaimed" or "eminent" does nothing whatsoever to redeem the ludicrous fallacy at play here. Not even celebration by fellow "intellectuals" does anything to bequeath logic into the illogical. And you can imagine just how much worse it is, just how cringe-worthy, when someone comes along and says that if we cannot observe a thing, it is justified to say that it is nothing. This sort of statement, in an age long after the invention of the microscope. As for Krauss, he even goes so far as to say that there are different types of "nothing." Pray tell, what may distinguish one type of nothingness from another type, in existential terms? The very fact that there exists anything to point to as a distinction already admits the existence of something. He, and those who parrot his views (and there are many - sadly even among people I admire such as the late Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins), look us straight in the face and say that objects are "nothing," They actually say that things are nothing and expect a silent worshipful superstitious awe to follow. In truth, they could easily be more honest and simply look for another word for the objects they wish to insist are nothing. No amount of posturing, no amount of books, no amount of acclaim, and no amount of eminence will ever render an existent thing "nothing." Not in physics and not in any other discipline. Its nothing but a very bad joke: alas we live in a world in which anything that drops from the mouth of a scientist is taken with the very same irrational superstitious awe with which religious people often cling to the words of their prophets, leaders and priests. This is something to take note of, because genuinely free scientific inquiry is often endangered in a world in which there are professors in many disciplines, who are denied tenure or office, and who are "excommunicated" for daring to hold different views from those held by their colleagues of the mainstream. Indeed, many academics now privately admit that they dare not express some of their true views publicly for fear of this sort of "excommunication." Most scientists will not dare raise any question today against the Theory of Evolution for example, even when there are genuine scientific questions to ponder. This can only remind one of Giordano Bruno and Galileo Galilei. |
wirinet:Pardon me old friend. I have a long standing irritation with the st.upidity of Lawrence Krauss. So reading from one who worships him was always bound to scratch a nerve. For some people, the height of intelligence and enlightenment simply means swallowing the words of "acclaimed scientists." Even against the most elementary and most obvious logic. We are familiar with this sort of pedestrian and even slavish rigidity in thought. PS: I don't think its fair to suggest that intolerance is limited to theists. Many atheists are extremely intolerant in the modern world. In fact its now a fad for such persons to refer to or regard any person who happens to believe in God, or even in spirituality, or even in the existence of the immaterial - as some sort of ignorant, backward or idiiotic person. Even as an agnostic myself, even if agnostic-deist - I do not take such a position. |
A001:I see you are the one who has to resort to childish pictures. Low IQ? You cant even retain a consistent concept of the word "nothingness" or "nothing." How can we expect you to understand "something?" You actually write that "objects and particles" are nothing, and expect to be taken seriously, simply because you mention the name of one clown who is "acclaimed" as a scientist. Go and sleep my brother. Capital olodo. |
