Romance / Re: She's A Good Girl And Pregnant For Me, But I Dont Love Her! by DeepSoul(f): 12:15pm On Jun 20, 2011
LeoMax:

Your friend is of the believe that he can only marry someone he loves. But here today, I want to tell your friend that he is wrong. He should marry someone who loves him. Her love is enough. His love will grow with time. Wife material, good girl and pregnancy even when you havent paid a bride price. WOW everything on a platter of gold, you silly friend is lucky.

That is the wrongest theory ever!! One person's love can never be "enough". This is the sort of thinking that puts so many people in trouble. Marriage isn't a joke. It isn't a gamble. It's forever. Marrying someone just because they cook and clean is not sustainable. You can get an excellent cook and housekeeper with the right amount of money.

Marriage should be based on those things that money can't buy - that inner peace and satisfaction that comes from knowing you're with The One.

{I'm beginning to sound a little corny, but it really is the truth!}

My Job on this thread is to find the girls guilty of this crime of "junk food consumption" here based on their comments. So here we go,
Deep Soul: Guilty!  tongue

I am so innocent, I should be appointed judge over this court!  tongue

Altho, due to chopping like a fool, I recently added "a lil something"  grin
But I do not in ANY WAY fall under this category.

By the way, I work out for 1hr everyday. In 2 weeks, I'll lose that "lil something"
After all the hard work at the gym, it pains me when a pot-bellied man tries to hit on me. . .they like beta thing but cannot be bothered to look good. Isnt that enough reason to get me angry-sounding?  grin

Celebrities / Re: Breaking News: Omawumi Gives Birth To Baby Girl by DeepSoul(f): 11:44am On Jun 20, 2011
Omawumi isn't married. It'd be easy to say "shame on her, she should have known better"

But then. . . she didn't have an abortion. She could easily have. For that reason, I salute her bravery (considering her public status).

Regardless, a child is undoubtedly a great blessing from God. Congratulobia to her jare!
Health / Re: Pastor Adeboye Builds N100m Cancer Screening And Prevention Center by DeepSoul(f): 11:15am On Jun 20, 2011
Why should it be free?
THe best they can and should do is offer the services at a minimum cost.

I.e Use a pricing strategy that'll be enough to cover its maintenance and overhead costs.
That way, the project becomes sustainable.

Food / Re: Nigerian Girls And Their Crave For Junk Meals by DeepSoul(f): 11:07am On Jun 20, 2011
What is the ratio of big belle men to big belle women??

There's a truck load of shapeless Nigerian men who give zero attention to how they look. They drink beer and eat pounded yam like there's no tomorrow.

It's supposedly perfectly understandable to equate the size of a man's tummy to "how well he's doing". Rubbish.

When you tell them their stomach is big, they tell you it's because their shirt is too small  cheesy

Just as women indulge in shawarma, so do men indulge in Star, Guiness, Harp which are well-known belle increasers.

Why date someone you do not love in the first place??

But then, men are men- he was probably just using her - cooking, cleaning and sex. Evil people  angry

Women sef. Sometimes we are our own worst enemies. A man is clearly not interested and doesn't love you and yet you still chook head inside the matter. And who knows, she might have gotten pregnant deliberately to coerce him into marrying her.

Too many I-must-marry-women everywhere. Marriage isn't the ultimate. Love is. . .

@OP:
Yes you have a right to be angry. But what if he REALLY COULD NOT come. . .did you offer any suggestions?

Have you guys talked about what's going to happen to your relationship now that you're leaving?

Is the relationship going to continue despite the distance or are you guys giving it a breather?

I lurrve Chi Exotic for its coconutty taste!

I lurrrve Berry Blast (From 5Alive). When I'm drinking it, the world is a better place.

I lurrrve Iced Tea. . .can't remember what company makes it.

Amongst these three, I'd have to give it to <<<drums rolling>>> Berry Blast!!

Although on the whole, I think Chi has a more exciting range of products.

Being engaged isn't even any guarantee. . . .

Till you're married with the ring on your finger, ANYTHING can happen. . .

Hell, these days, being married isn't even much guarantee sef, what with all the marriage crashes. . .

Romance / Re: Why Are Nigerian Girls So Money-conscious? by DeepSoul(f): 4:58pm On Jun 07, 2011

I live in Abuja. And I'm better than a girl who lives in Abeokuta. Go figure.

All these people complaining, you get what you want. Some of the best females I know (Morals, good character and every good thing) live in Abuja. So where did their husbands/boyfriends find them??

Unfortunately, I cannot read through 9 pages of this post, but I get the gist. All these loose men with zero morals complaining like they are any better! Abeg jare, make we see road!

P.S: I do acknowledge that the "Abuja-girl Syndrome" does exist.

@Topic:

How sad. I cant for the life of me figure out why that cultist was voted back in. Water is one of the most basic necessities of our existence and if their main source of water is a stream in 2011, the Nigerian case is just pure hopeless at this point. How much does it cost to create a Borehole, really? How much?

Family / Re: Can I Marry and run a family With A Salary Of 120k per month? by DeepSoul(f): 11:29am On Jun 03, 2011
In a town like Abuja where a 2-bedroom flat goes for N1.2million, that's about 83% of your income going to rent.

Let's assume you live in a regular town with regular rent rates:

N120,000 (N1,440,000/year)

1) Feeding - 20,000
2) Savings - 20,000
3) Fuel (car) - 8,000 (2k weekly)
4) Fuel (generator) - Depends on the size. Work on getting a moderately sized gen that doesnt consume so much fuel. Also work on getting a specific number of hrs the gen should be on for whether there's nepa light or not. So lets say 6k
5) Nepa Bills - 3,000
6) Utility bills (Water, sanitation etc) - 2,000
7) Medical Incidentals - U never know, really. Let's just say 10k
9) DSTV  grin - You can pay for N2,500 bouquet, atleast it has African Magic  grin
10) Recharge cards (you) - 3,000 (N750 weekly)
11) Recharge cards (your wife) - 3,000 (N750 weekly)
12) Beer - If u normally drink 10 bottle of Star, cut it down to 5  wink
13) Cooking gas - 4,000
14) Clothing and make-up for your wife - You can do this on a quarterly basis, say 20k. That will boil down to a little over 6k monthly
15) CLothing for you - Also quarterly for same amount

A TOTAL of the above = N94,832

*I didnt include rent because you should be able to gather cash for rent from your monthly savings over a period of time*

*Medical incidentals will most likely not be utilized, so that'll give you an extra 10k in addition to the remaining N25,168*

After the above expenses, you'll have N35,168 for other miscellaneous expenses such as car repairs, gen repairs etc etc

Smh, why am I feeling so jobless this morning, lol. Al this being said, you wifey needs a job abeg.

I think I've been lucky enough never to have experienced turbulence so bad that I'll never forget.

Regardless, I have had constant horrible experiences with AERO CONTRACTORS and their timing. I wonder if they are in a different timezone from the rest of us. The worst thing anyone can ever do is try to take an AERO evening flight. Just forget it, you will arrive your destination at 2AM.
