Credible sources told our correspondent yesterday in Abuja that some power brokers in the party were already planning how to field another candidate in 2023. If pdp of all parties denies the SE their presidential ticket for 2023 then it's finished for them period.

It was gathered that high ranking members of the PDP, including some serving governors were plotting to field a northern candidate in 2023, while some party bigwigs from the South felt cheated by such arrangement and are challenging the move.

A Board of Trustees (BoT) member from the South who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity said: “It is true that some power brokers in the PDP were not comfortable with the emergence of Atiku but we supported him as our candidate.” “So now that our case has been thrown out, there are pockets of agitations regarding which zone should produce the presidential candidate in 2023. “But I think the party also needs to handle this matter with caution because, already, many of our members are likely to jump ship to the APC. I’m also considering that option so I don’t want to comment on the matter anymore,” he said.

But PDP National Publicity Secretary Kola Ologbondiyan told our correspondent yesterday in a telephone chat that the party has not taken a decision on its 2023 presidential ticket. “There is no agitation within the PDP over the 2023 presidential ticket. It’s even too early to talk about 2023, but I can assure you that the future of the PDP is very bright. “We have not even seen the reasons they (Supreme Court) advanced for their judgement. So we have not reached discussion on that yet,” he said.

I'm a minority from the north central,but I agree with you completely, Nigeria can't continue to treat igbos like outcast n expect peace,all true patroits must support an Igbo presidency in 2023 whether in pdp or Apc.

Now that the supreme Court has put an end albeit dubiously to Atiku's presidential pursuit, igbos should as a matter of right insist n demands for the pdp to zone their 2023 presidential candidate to the SE, a SE/NC combination will just be good for pdp.

I thought the federal government was only against smuggling through land border?,if the Vietnamese want to bring in the rice through the port the federal government should just ensure all the appropriate tarrifs are paid instead of a total blockage,we should be fighting this battle strategically because if there is a gang up against us the results will not be pleasant, everything is not by gragra buhari tried same in 84 at the end what happened?

Friends on NL I greet you all. Trust your day is going well? It is with very heavy heart and confused state of mind I sent this post on this platform so you can advise me on what line of action I should take. Pastors and genuine men of God should also advise me on what to do as well.

There is this lady i have been dating for about a year and 6 months now. We love each other to the moon and most importantly we respect each other opinion and decisions. She is a born again christian who appreciates the things of God more than she appreciates me which of course I have no issues with.

When we agreed to start up a relationship after being friends for about 6 months, it was agreed that there will be no sex until the wedding night but at a point I asked her "what if we are done with traditional marriage rites are we still not gonna have sex? To my creates surprise she said we won't until church wedding is done. I did not actually took her serious.

Fast forward, on the 15th of July 2019 the traditional marriage was done in her father' compound in the east and all I was asked to pay and give was paid and given without any remainder . after the traditional marriage we went back to my house in abuja. Note that we were not staying together before now. I am base in abuja while she is in owerri. When we got home that night I told her we can now make love as husband and wife hence the traditional rites has been done and most importantly the bride price paid. To my amazement my wife bluntly refused. She told me she will never compromise her stand on pre marital sex

I have been very faithful to our agreement based on her claim that she is a virgin. But refusing me my right over her body after every thing including the bride price has been paid is something I can never subscribed to and to this end I have I have involved her parent and her pastor her decision however, still remain no sex till the wedding night. I am putting the wedding on hold for now until she willingly allow me make love to her and she seems not to be comfortable with my decision as well.

what were you thinking when you accepted the no sex till wedding night condition from her,at least you should have also add a caveat that if she turns out not a virgin eventually,then divorce and refund of your expenditure shall follow,then you can be even.As it is now I suspect there is a short coming she is trying to hide from you until you are trapped,my mind is even telling me it has to do with her kpekus,so be prepared.

For more than 16 years, you contributed heavily to PDP, and yet only once have you been compensated with a VP slot.

Still, you feel decamping to APC is a trap. You can't still see that PDP is the real trap. Maybe when you wait 50 years, it would dawn on you.

Igbos stand a better chance in pdp than anywhere else, the SW led by tinubu are not likely to concede the ticket to the igbos,so the igbos need to hold on to the pdp, organized themselves n then build bridges across to the other parts of the country,a SE/NC ticket for pdp will not be a bad idea.

This was not unexpected,those supporting buhari should please take note of all the things that happened leading up to the elections, during the elections n after, buhari has set a very dangerous precedence of power usage in this country to the cheering of his supporters but history never forgets n tommorow shall definitely come,now that Atiku has got to the bus stop,the PDP should now zone their 2023 presidential ticket to the south east for equity sake, igbos should not fall for the trap of decamping to the Apc to get the presidency,I rest my case.

Two weeks later, we went to see him in Ikeja. My wife and I. She was reluctant to go because she was not impressed with the man's status as to warrant our visiting him in his house. I was able to convince her that we were close friends in college. We saw the Estate. *Wuraola Estate.* We asked for directions to his home. Those leading us spoke his name with deference.

It was a simple but lovely home. A 4 bedroom bungalow. I saw 4 cars parked in front. We entered his home. It was simply elegant with a touch of class inside. He welcomed us warmly.

Lunch was well served. His wife called him Baba Wuraola

During lunch, he asked about my MD. He said they were friends. I saw a company gift on one of his tables nearby. That company owned about 38% shares where I worked. I enquired from him about it. He smiled. He told me he owned the company. He also owned the estate.

I did not know when I called him sir... I was in awe of him too.

I had learnt a lesson in humility - A big one. Appearances are deceptive. He noticed my discomfort.

Driving back home, I was very quiet. My wife was humbled and extremely calm. I could perceive the thoughts in her mind. I looked at myself. Living on loans, heavy loans and showing off while someone who pays my salary is quite modest and living a simple life!
Indeed Deeper Rivers Flow In Majestic Silence![/quote]I don't intend to sound impressive,but this reminds me of my own experience,I work n earn moderately, having read the "THE RICHEST MAN IN BABYLON"I applied some of the principles n it has helped me to succeed,now I have modest three bedroom flat,a car n a bike,I was once posted to the house of a very influencial personality to work,the wife n kids appeared very pompous n cocky,the man was not always around but the younger brother to the wife looks cool, gradually I befriended him,he was often sent to go pick n drop me,one I jokingly ask him to assist in taking me home as I was out of fare for okada from the drop point to my abode,I watched his reaction closely he agreed without a fuss but said he needs to get back quickly,I assured him it was just a few minutes drive,when we arrived my place,I told him this is my little home n stylishly watch his reaction,he was shocked,he asked,is this your family house or...?,I said personal n private emphatically,just then my two sons rushed out to welcome me,he was like waoh! this is wonderful,we chat for few moments n he left.perhaps he went back n discussed his experience with his sister n her children but I noticed a major change in behavior towards me in the house till I left.

you see, it's got for soldiers and all security personnel generally to be respected,they need to be decisive n firm sometimes as security business is not a joke,but they also need to behave with some measure of decorum most especially in dealings with each other so that the public will know that you can't take any for granted, members of the public should also be law abiding to avoid problems with security personnel,of course there are bad eggs in the security generally but with the present technology such bad eggs can be exposed n gradually things will change.

Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), says the nation’s land borders will remain closed until neighbouring countries meet the requirements for it to be reopened.

Emefiele said this on Monday while speaking to journalists after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.
The federal government had closed the country’s land borders to importing and exporting of all items in a bid to curb illegal trading activities by Nigeria’s neighbours.

Hameed Ali, comptroller-general of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), had said that Nigeria’s borders will remain closed until the country and its neighbours agree on existing ECOWAS protocol on movement.

Despite several calls by stakeholders for the re-opening of the borders, Emefiele said the affected countries must first have “concrete engagements” on mutual anti-smuggling policies.

He explained that the smuggling of goods through these countries undermines Nigeria’s economic policy.

“We are not saying that the borders should be closed in perpetuity, but that before the borders are reopened, there must be concrete engagements with countries that are involved in using their ports and countries as landing ports for bringing in goods meant for local consumption, it is understandable,” Emefiele said.

“But the fact that those products are landed in their countries and then transshipped or smuggled into Nigeria is something that I am sure you all agree as Nigerians we should not allow happening because it undermines our economic policy, it undermines our own desire to make sure that industries are alive and jobs are created in Nigeria.”

Emefiele further said that the country’s rice and poultry farmers have, since the closure, recorded improved sales.

“Recently, and this is the absolute truth, about two weeks before the border closure, the chairman of the Rice Processors Association, incidentally, he owns Umza Rice in Kano, called me and said that all the rice millers and processors are having in their warehouses nothing less than 25,000 metric tons of milled rice. That this rice has been unsold because of the smuggling and dumping through Republic of Benin and other border posts that we have in the country and that he would want us to do something about it,” he said.

“Secondly, we also have members of the Poultry Association of Nigeria who also complained that they have thousands of crates of eggs that they could not sell together with even some of the processed chickens also arising from the problem of smuggling and dumping of poultry products into Nigeria.

“A week after the borders were closed, the same rice millers association called to tell us that all the rice that they had in their warehouses have all been sold. Indeed, a lot of people have been depositing money in their accounts and they have even been telling them ‘please hold on don’t even pay money yet until we finished processing your rice’.

“The Poultry Associations have also come to say that they have sold all their eggs, they have sold all their processed chickens and that demand is rising.”
According to him, the improved sale of rice and poultry products is the benefit of closing the borders.

“So when you asked, what is the benefit of the border closure on the economy of Nigeria, I just used two products – poultry and rice. The benefit is that it has helped to create jobs for our people, it has helped to bring the integrated rice milling that we have in the country back into business again and they are making money. Our rural communities are bubbling because there are activities because rice farmers are able to sell their paddy. The poultry business is also doing well, and also maize farmers who produce maize from which feeds are produced are also doing business. These are the benefits,” he said.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) had

I don't support buhari or Apc but I support this idea of border closure, genuine importers can use our ports,when the borders are eventually open,only goods locally produce in African countries should be allowed in through the land borders,customs should even be allowed to raid markets n shops for smuggled goods,let those who are ready to labour enjoy their sweat.

You're 1st question is silly. Robber is criminal. Banks have safes and security knowing these robbers exist. The farmers should do the same if they can afford to.

They can they're just too lazy to adapt. Ranching is better and beef import ban should be lifted. The outcome is obvious since court have slrrady ruled anti grazing laws are legal.
