jay4genius: recently, my laptop has being misbehavin. If i connect my charger to it, the charging light shows, but kips on fluctuating (i.e. comes on and off). I have tried 2 different chargers, but the same tin hapens. Please what exactly is the problem? I pray the fault is nt frm the charging port of my laptop

Dinobenson: good morning my brother,sorry for bothering u,i have a problem with my hp mini.the keyboard is no longer responding except the mouse pad.i did a system recovery yet no solution.i had to start using screen keyboard,the thing is i want to give it my sister and she cant use it like that.when i checked on the control panel it showed it is working properly.and again whenever the system is booting up there is this continous beeping sound which started with the freezing of the keyboard.pls help a soul,most grateful.

is windows xp the only operating system on the computer ?

check to make sure no cd or dvd in the cd dvd drive !

The laptop starting windows indicated is loading from the hard drive and
would suggest that you remove any device attached to the computer.

for example no usb stick or sd mempry card in the slot or
anything that could prevent it from booting. Have you just installed windows or
made nay recent changes to the computer Visit google and search how to use f8 to
repair your computer that's after you have answered the questions in bold.

If after using f8 you're still not able to get to windows, we may need to system restore.

Just of curiosity, where did you obtained the antivirus from, i.e. toreent or
the one you purchased or was a trial free version

OMA4U: 1.yeah, Installing window. 2. All the function keys 3. We were unable to install window, because we need f2 to go to set up. 4. Run memory test, and not check disk.

OMA4U: Thanks. It's dell inspiron 1545. I installed autocad 2010 (trial version). After it was expired. Someone tried using command to uninstall it permanently, so that I can install an original version, but it didn't work. The person suggested I should reload since I needed the autocad fastly. He tried reloading it, but the function keys on the keyboard didn't work ( till now). On booting it back, it started displaying running memory test (yes/no) with blue background. If i chose 'yes', it would run for more than an hour and still display it. If 'no', it would reboot and go to window.

The autocad 2010 is still there and unable to uninstall, but I'm able to use 2007 now. Thanks so much for coming to my aid.

Omero: Gud-day gurus in d house and tanx for d gud work, I hav a little problem, my acer mini recently crashed which led to changing of the motherboard from an old one and it started working again, but when it is switched on it usually displays dis error message which does'nt go off from d screen. the error message is!
one of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognized it. for assistance to fix this problem clik on this message. on clicking, it prop up anoda message in a box which are!

if windows does'nt still recognize the device, replace the device.
that is d error message it displays, the numba 8 port above is bold and with a different icon symbol ie others appear as usb icon. also when I switch on d system it will b making a tickling sound from inside ie from d hard drive compactment which eventually stops after 30 to 60 seconds, the engineer dat fixed d board for me said my hard drive is weak and getting bad that I should try and replace it soonest to avoid............................ so plz what does dis error message meant and how do I fix it. tanx in advance.

teknology: guy i removed both ram still the same but the problem has gone bad o the system is not even booting at all again when i plug in the charger its not charging

sino: Hmmm, i'm quite not satisfied with this info, anyways...
check if your charger is ok, or get another one to confirm...

Try a hard reset,
*unplug your charger
*remove your battery
*remove any peripheral devices
*hold your power button for 60seconds
*then power up your lappy again


If no joy,
Try this if you know your way to the laptop's RAM i.e memory.
Get a working RAM(from a friend) to swap with yours and see if it comes on
Or if your system contains two, then try each one separately

If no joy,


Get your system to a techy fast!

onegig: PXE is in the bios setup. The PXE option allows the PC to boot from a network server. PXE is not in the filesystem. The location in BIOS of the Boot setup will vary, Some BIOS allow shutting down PXE, other simply move it to the bottom of the boot device list. Go to your boot order. If your Hard drive is higher in the boot list than the pxe or network option and you still see this error then there is a problem with your hdd. Do the hard disk test in the bios to ascertain your hardisk health

you can also solve the problem by holding the F2 button, resetting all settings to default, and saving and exiting.

meshybizzo: Like onegig has said mostly your RAM or VGA (video card).
First thing, if you can check your RAM. If you have more than 1, remove one and then restart to test. If same problem happens switch off and replace d prev memory and remove the other 1 to test. Just 1 of d RAM might be bad. If problem still persist you need to check your VGA and possibly other devices like processor.

Olisa74: From what you have described, your Mac cannot access the OS to boot from, and keeps recycling the process in further attempts to boot. The guy at computer village is right, it seems like your hard drive has died. Once you replace your hard drive and re install the OS, your Mac should work just fine.

onegig: some users of norton anti virus have complianed of same. It might be due to some conflict. Best option is to uninstal the norton and get another anti virus or mace you get a norton anti virus thats compatible with your system.

The only problem I have is that the cursor dances very erratically on it own accord and hide and refuses to respond to mouse. clicks . This makes using the system very difficult. I showed a technician, they did not have a clue. I learnt is a known problem with dell, any solution for this?

onegig: please take a screenshot of your task manager. Do the following. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL click on task manager. Maximize the task manager page,click the process tab, connect your modem then take a screenshot or picture of the task manager page. Upload here, then i would inform you on the applications you need to disable.
