What I think is source of d problem?
Battery of my laptop spoilt nd when nepa took light while system is on, d system imediately goes off without shutting it down. It continues like that for like 2 months. After 2 mths, it began to show d blue screen nd now d black screen nd when it at times began to boot without black screen nd am able to get it to safe mode, it suddenly pop into d blue screen.
PLS HELP ME!!
Check if you are using the latest hardware drivers, especially the chipset and video drivers.
Older drivers are a common contributor to BSoD issues.

You can visit the laptop manufacturer's website to verify you have the latest drivers
and help keep all your drivers up-to-date. If you're comfortable with driver installations,
you can individually find and install current drivers on that same website.

If you have installed any software drivers, we may be able to turn the clock
back to when it was working okay.

Holuphemmy93: I think its d fan cos d noise is coming from d air vent, but why is doing like dat since its doesnt do like dat before, can dat be a malfunction
There are number of reasons why this could have happened.
Most netbooks were designed with ultra low voltage CPU and
smaller fan hence why it's getting hot. you would ask, why
should it get hot if the CPU were designed as low voltage ?
To find out why netbooks get hot, visit Google for more information.
Given the nature of your post, I have been able to provide 1st
level support which is the minimum requirement. we have a colleague
that can help you in Lagos but he will charge you to examine the laptop.
If you do, look for onegig on this forum and send him a message.

In your reply please tell us if the laptop switched off and for how long ?
At what stage did you notice the breeze ? for example when powering it on,
browsing or virus scan.

Emmyk: Please I need help with my system.

My bro downloaded some stuffs recently. And now whenever I open my browsers - Mozilla of IE., it brings out Artemis.com, as my homepage and when new tabs open, it follows them.

I thought it was like this normal 3rd party thingy. Till I noticed it was not even what I used on my HOMEPAGE.

I have been trying to delete it, all to no avail, I even downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware yesterday, yet, it wont leave my homepage and new tabs!

I deleted it files on Registry. That didnt even work. sad

Please how do I get rid of this malicious trash off my laptop?? embarassed

your important data before continuing. I have provided this advice in the
hope that you would follow all the instructions and most importantly back up your data.

When you get to option three, I would like you to use superantispyware. it's my favourite !

On restart keep pressing f11 until you see recovery manager
select recovery backup data recommended and have your backup device ready.
If the option is not available try looking for advanced options.
you will need a usb stick or an external hard drive.

Connect the storage device to another computer to be sure that the

What's the time right now on your laptop ?

Does the laptop keep the time when
you set it or does it keep it and then
looses it ?

Have you or anybody else tempered with
the bios settings ?

Any recent service to your laptop and what ?

We need answers so as to narrow down what might have
caused the laptop not to keep its time/clock.

I take this is windows xp ? right click the time and check your
time zone. what is it set to ?

Restart laptop and keep pressing f10 for bios
scrool down to mains and check the time. the
clock is somewhere there search for it.

Note down the time and f10 to save and exit.
let start up as usual and compare the time
with the one you jotted down earlier. what's the difference.
It might be you need to go back to bios and set the time
then test it in normal windows. if no joy
it might be what we refer to as Cmos battery is faulty
and need replacing.
follow prev post and adjust the time in the bios,
remember to save the changes using f10. After making the
changes then test it

The laptop was windows xp before installing windows 7, is that right ?

Once i switch it on again, it will continue from there. Once i off it, it will stop there again. May be the cmos battery is no longer working as you've suggested
How did you set the time ?
Did you went to the bios

alaoeri: Its went off by itself, have tried your suggestion isn't working. HP pavilion dv6 window7
That's a surprise ! Okay, remove the battery again and
the charger and leave it completely out for 20 minutes
or so and turn it back on.

When was the last time it works and what was the last thing you did ?
for example upgrades, update or anything of that nature.

If it was a country where there
was a stable power supply, I would ask you to use the charger to
power it on. if you have a stable lights, please use the charger
first to power it on instead of the battery. I have a feeling this
might have contributed to why it doesn't work. In practice a competent
csr technician would first carry out an ATX reset or SMC Reset on apple mac's

On the far right, does it state NVIDIA
graphics on the label. we need the full model number,
turn the laptop upside down and there will be a white sticker
with dv6- with some digits US EA OR EU or SA

can you hear the hard disk running? shine a torch
flashlight onto the screen. can you see an image?

Did the screen went off by itself ?

If you have had any issues with you computer
and phoned the help line number one of the common
things they will ask you to do is an ATX reset, Basically
this just resets the power supply in your computer and
in most cases can solve some display issues.

How to perform an ATX reset:

Disconnect the power from your computer.
If possible remove the battery and external devices.
Hold the power button for about 15 seconds
Put the battery back in the computer
Reconnect the power
Press the power button to turn on your computer

If this does not solve the power issue it may be the hardware
its self which is faulty and will need repairing or replacing.

What make and model is the laptop/PC. for example, the laptop I use are HP TX
and Toshiba P300-20H windows Vista. what's yours ?

When was the last it works and what was the last thing you did ?
for example upgrades, update or anything of that nature.

De Tus: @GreatAustin, your OS is counterfeit. You know I mean. Now solving your other problem. First, open one of the preinstalled apps on your device for instance "The Calender". Then you hold down the "Sleep/Wake Button till the slide to Power Off Message pops. Further to that, you hold down the "Home Button" without letting it "go to Sleep/Wake Button". Then you'll either go back to the "Home Screen" or the device would be on "Sleep Mode". Finally, you slide to Unlock.
De Tus: @Gwinovich, you mean your computer freezes whenever you plug in the battery? Ok, in windows, go to "control panel" and then "power option" and "set the power high or maximum".
De Tus: @warrenweste, please check the technical details of your PC or you state the model no of your PC here for me.
