FamilyRe: Why Are Some Youths/Teens So Afraid Of Their Parents And Not Free With Them? by demelza: 5:24pm On Dec 08, 2012
Its only recently I have been moving close to my dad. When I was much younger the very sight of him terrified me. Dad was really very strict. There were sometimes I prayed he just left us and never came back, thank God he never answered my prayer.
Looking back I know he did those things out of love but I wished I had the relationship my sister presently has with him. She can walk up to my dad and say anything on her mind, she even asks him to buy her sanitary pad sumfin I would never do in a million years.
Dad encourages me now to talk to him about anything, sometimes I do and sometimes I dont because subconsciously, the fear is still there.
But still that fear doesnt take away anything because I love him to bits and pieces.

Dont know about some of the laws but no.6, The Law of Encounters, is so true.
Lmao. ...what about the Laws of Babies?

It's when you want them to do something. ...After you have called everyone and their mama to come and see, they do the opposite.

Can't count how many times I have fallen into that trap. cheesy
Oh gosh Ma Mum is so fond of doing this. Lawd knows how many times I cringe inwardly to see everyone standing there expecting the baby to do the "special thing" and he doesnt. How embarassing even though Mum doesnt seem to mind.
EducationRe: Candid Rants: Co-Habitation In The University (Undergraduate "Nnanyi" Syndrome) by demelza: 2:18pm On Dec 08, 2012
Is this the name for it? A coursemate of mine is involved in this. She keeps a space in the hostel, which she hardly use, in case of those times her parents come to see her. She also goes as far as introducing him to everyone as her husband and calls him that too.
Bish is extremely jealous of him and woe betides any girl who so much as smile at him.
I agree with all your points there poster, I hardly hear about any success story from this type of arrangement. Nice write up
HealthRe: The Horrors Of Being A Drug Addict.....pls Dont Do Drugs by demelza:
This is really a horror flick.
I really really want to know, why do people do drugs? Is cocaine sweet like sugar? I cant even smoke cigar talkless of coke...
There are reasons why people do drugs. I'll list some:
1. Peer Pressure; wanting to seem cool among your mates and not to be the odd one out.
2. Using it to escape from unpleasant circumstances going on in ones life.
3. Some do it out of curiousity because of the "hype" they must have heard about it.
4. Some do drugs to rebel against society or authority.
The sad thing is once they get hooked, its almost impossible to quit.
PoliticsRe: Sambo Asks For Extra N9b For New Home by demelza: 11:12am On Dec 08, 2012
Why are people so surprised? To all those shouting about revolution please let us hear word. Its because the government knows the people wont do anything that is why it keeps on doing things like this.
In more civilized climes, the government would have been overthrown if they did stuff like this but here we foam and rant at the mouth and in a week's time forget everything. So why wont they use us as football since Nigerians are renowned for their ability to easily forget.
Evil thrives when good men sit down and do nothing.
OP your post suggests that you are afraid to take on responsibilities. If that's right then I'll simply say you don't need to be scared, simply put off the tv, stay away from your cartoons and remember that the dude who created the Peter Pan story is a multi millionaire(or is it billionaire)!
I don't shy away from responsibilities, been the first of four siblings can do that to you. Even though knowing that I would be taking on more responsibilities for myself and future is quite frightening.
As for me giving up cartoons, it seems that would be one of the things I have to sacrifice so as to be called an adult.

safarigirl: you need not seem aggressive, it was you who asked for opinions, surely you didn't expect everyone to agree with you. One need not look far to realise you're a girl, your problem isn't that you'll soon have to cater for a family so you're no dude. My dear, if you were in America you'd be thinking of all the parties you can finally go to and booze, life starts at 21 there. Your age being a problem is probably cuz you're not yet responsible for yourself or anyone. I'm 18, and I'm definitely not 'rockin' squat, can't wait to be 'old' enough to do stuff I've always thought I could do if I was 'old' e.g stay out late without explaining. You need to reply people with some semblance of maturity, lest you appear as a spoilt, vain, mediocre, arrogant person, I'm not trying to degrade your person, just ma 2 kobo. If you neva dey use botox or you never reach for br3a5t augmentation, you never old
Thanks even though some peeps can be annoying, I'll keep to your advice.

That her reality show is sooo boring. Watched the first episode on Africa magic and I am so through with it.
By the way which A+++ star (as Omo T is touted to be) in the west has a reality tv show.
She sure got it right when she said she thought reality shows are for stars at the tail end of their career.
But no hating, get your money "Omosexy".
Christianity EtcRe: Jamie Foxx Calls Barack Hussein Obama "God" And Our Lord and Saviour' by demelza: 12:05pm On Dec 07, 2012
@Op
Are you for real? Do you think its only Jesus who is referred to as lord or saviour?
Haven't you ever heard of the lords in Britain. So if I were to walk up to one of them and as a form of greeting call him my lord, does it mean I am blaspheming?
Go look at the definition of saviour and you would see its not totally unfounded calling him that. Hell, someone who saves you from something that might otherwise be injurious or harmful to you is your saviour even though we don't call it as such here.
Jamie didnt say anything blasphemous, he just used the English vocabulary in a way that might be pretty hard to grasp if one isnt a ................
FoodRe: Costliest Tea cost 20 million uk pounds? by demelza: 11:57am On Dec 07, 2012
There is no such thing as a 20million pound tea. The issue has to do with Starbucks dodging the payment of tax in England. And I believe the amount being touted is what they owe, not really sure but you can google it.

PoliticsRe: When Will We Start This Revolution In Nigeria by demelza: 11:31am On Dec 07, 2012
GenBuhari: Nigerian youths are too timid. They would probably wait and watch until their entire futures are stolen and wasted.
US would soon stop buy our crude oil and oil may run out and become worthless, then what would be left for future generations?
I still cannot understand why they stopped the fuel protests.

It is very unfortunate.
Which fuel protests?
Do you mean that jamboree held early this year where people went to listen to popular musicians who came to "entertain them " while pretending to be protesting?
Look at the current protest going on in Egypt, compare, and you will see that that fuel "protest" was a shameful charade.
@Op
I dont think you should hold your breath for any revolution or else.... The youths have become totally complacent just like sheeps and have also developed an immunity towards all the atrocities committed here that if committed elsewhere would have right thinking citizens bringing the government to its knees.
They justify their complacency & docility with "we leave everything to God". Or in a modified version - God Dey. How I detest this word.
PoliticsRe: Sanusi: I Wont Stop Talking by demelza: 11:12am On Dec 07, 2012
I totally agree with the CBN governor. We run a very expensive democracy in this part of the world and its crippling us. How do we ever hope to be developed when we spend 70% of our budget paying goddamn salaries? How in the world can a nation join the G-20 in 2020 when only 30% of the budget is spent on capital projects?
Its frigging amusing & also sad when a common commissioner has special assistants, senior special assistants, senior assistants, special advisers, assistants in his payrole. If only a commissioner has this set of people advicing him, then imagine how many the governor has. Only a môrôn will need that amount of people to advice him on something that he could easily use his common sense to resolve. And I wont be surprised if most of them are môrons.
Nigeria is a freaking joke!

tutee1000: Nigeria needs about 20 million housing units to optimally satisfy its citizens (minister for housing, 2012). Any move to provide more housing accommodation is highly welcomed.
Sorry to burst your bubble but this mega city isn't about providing housing for the populace. If the average nigerian cannot afford to get a house in Abuja that isn't a megacity, how will they be able to do so in this proposed city?
