Say no to jungle justice. |
Yes. |
Shameless students blaming the authorities for their failures. The mass failure goes to show the degradation of the Nigerian educational system, not just law school. How many students study these days on a regular? Not just when exams and tests are about to happen. Many are busy with other activities and think they can bluff their way through university. How many of them are able to pass their waec and neco exams without cheating? God help us |
When can I get paid? |
ZERKNICHTER: young uneducatet people with no perspectiv in life are open to influence by fanaticsYes, I agree with the symptom of poverty part. However, lack of consequences is no deterrent for their actions. They should be tried in a court of law and punished accordingly. |
Nice way for the govt to encourage terrorism. First it was the niger delta folks who raised hell. They got rehabilitated/ rewarded with millions. Now it is boko haram. Why do I bother trying to be a functional member of society when I can go unleash terror on civilians and get rewarded for it later. |
You missed picking up phones and talking loudly. |
Austema: Here is the latest guy on nairaland, Am Austine by name, a tourism student of federal poly Idah, kogi state.Who cares? ![]() |
It's cheating. Plan B can be physical cheating or emotional cheating or both. Depends on the situation. |
Maybe it's her way of remembering you based n your conversation. Not necessarily an insult. |
3cycle: As a lady, sometimes I come across great post by a guy and I fall in love immediately. Most times I try to ignore the poster but I do Remember The username so I summon the courage to follow him and see if I can strike an online conversation before I send a pm but I never succeed.Come woo me ![]() |
This is just not a fair treatment. How are they supposed to survive for those eight months? Some of them have turned themselves into crime and prostitution just to survive. Sad thing is, it's probably someone just sitting on their money. |
Good move by the FG if true. Fire the useless doctors and let them reapply for their jobs. That should let them take their jobs more seriously next time. I hope they are not getting paid for the time they have not been working due to their strike. |
Where is the info? |
August to December...finish it already. |
tonydim:Thanks |
tonydim: hahahahahahaha, good ican meal, with a max of four plates per diet and you wont have another diet till you have finishd all the four meals I saw the word used on the website. Does it stand for an acronym? |
what does 'diet' stand for? |
V6 engine with 250hp Leather seats with cool/heated seats Sunroof - love the panoramic view. Would take a regular sunroof tho. Remote starters and fog lights a must Alloy wheels Big screen touchscreen player looks cool too. Can't downgrade to a small screen cd player anymore. Gas efficiency helps but not so important Those are what I look for before buying a car. Bought one recently, and due to limited finances had to sacrifice the V6 and the panoramic sunroof. |
OP Sometimes we get too stuck up on name calling and titles. What matters is not what you think, but what the family feel comfortable and what works for them. So whats your own business with who calls their parents by name? If you don't like it, let your kids call you what you like. To each their own. No one has to live by your own standards. |
It all depends on your personal circumstances and affordability. If you can afford it, and still have lots of money left, buy it outright. However it is a lot of money that can also be used for other means. No sense buying a car and using all your savings. In that case loan it and pay it in manageable instalments. You just have to worry about interest rates, and steady income/payments. |
Slapped by her brother-in-law? WTF?!?!?!?! |
Form an association, pool resources together and start your own conglomerates. |
Guitarlife: Banker nah. LoLz it pays the bills so what is a man gon do huh ?You should still consider pursuing your engineering career. |
I got a job with a company that offered good money but not the career path I wanted. Shortly after that, I got an offer with another company that was along my career path, but with less money. After considerations, I quit for the career related position. Still think I made the right decision. And its been 18 months now. |
Even though I feel for the frustrations of those students, and the uselesness of the nigerian embassies worldwide, those students should be charged and deported where applicable for their actions. This will be serve as an example to others. Too many Nigerians tend to resort to violence for issues. Violence is not the solution. |
I'm studying nairaland. Unemployed next. |
Guitarlife: @poster try and study electrical eng. You will never regret it. Try to earn a 2:1 though. I did earn a 2:1 in elect eng. But I work with banking now. So your options are practically limitless. You work in a bank as ...? banker or engineer? |
Success is measured in different ways. You might measure success by the mansion or ride you have while another measures it differently. There are many unknowns in this story. If the couple are living by themselves without kids or just 1 kid, why the need for a bigger place? Also not everyone who lives in the states is successful based on the way many Nigerians like to measure success. And that is not nothing to be ashamed of. Moreover, the two bedroom apartment could be a paid for condo. Even if it isn't, why should I be ashamed cos I haven't lived up to your expectations? |
If that is the case, I would not be embarrassed. If that's what I have, then I would be proud of it no matter what. We are all different and we all have different achievements in life. To each their own. As long as I make a honest living, and I can afford basic necessities for my family, that's all that matters. And I will thank God for that. After all, some can't afford basic necessities, and some of those who can, lose them or worse. In all things, be thankful. |
Go ManCity!!!!!! |
Minimum wage in both places have similar effect. In naija, you can't afford much. You can't afford anything in California with $10/hr. full time gives you about $1600 (based on 4 weeks of 40hrs a week). That's also assuming you do get full time hours. Deductions from your pay can be btw$ 400-$700 a month leaving you with net $900 - $1200. By the time you pay rent which is typically above $1000 a month, you have nothing left. This does not include utilities and we assume you have to forgo cable tv and Internet. We are yet to talk about health insurance (too expensive), transportation (100-200 a month). Feeding ($200 a month for basic groceries and home cooked meals). No room for luxury items yet as its almost impossible to afford anything at this point. Phone bills $50-$100 a month. At this point(payday), you are already looking for your next bill to help pay for the things not covered yet. And hopefully you don't have any dependants on that pay. |

dont think its an acronym for anything. its just the way they choose to call each session of the exam and its conventional now in nigeria
