To a question I saw at some point earlier:
Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program, SINP, used to be the easiest of all the provincial nominee programs till this past May. Now its much tougher due to new law changes. Now, even if you have family, you need to already have a job offer before coming in (as against just your sponsor having a job in the past).
Also for folks already in Canada, you have to work for a year instead of six months as it used to be. Also your employer has to 'kind of sponsor' you as a simple job offer letter is no longer accepted.

There is this friend of mine dt has B.eng electr (2.2) and elect with 5-6yrs years relevant experience in d power sector. He intends to immigrate to Canny.
He doesn't nt want to go thru study visa due to d huge financial demands. I also heard power engrs are in high demand in Canny. What other immigration option does he have?

Your friend can try the skilled labour PR group but there are some snags to it:
1. Engineering is at the moment not in the NOC group that canada is looking for. I guess they have too many engineers at the moment.
2. Power Engineering is not the same thing as Electrical Engineering. Two different fields. Power Engineering is more of a trade than engineering

Study makes it easiest. If you have family in canada, then provincial nominee program is the way to go.

Your relationship is not yet over really. You are just still in that uncertain phase.

Forget the fact that canada needs people. When it comes to study visas, that is irrelevant.
The visa officials are supposed to assume every aspiring student is a potential immigrant or is never going to come back home.
If they allow everyone, then it becomes a strain on social services. And in canada, you dont need to be a citizen or PR to qualify for services.

Therefore it is on the applicant to prove that he/she does not intend to become an immigrant in canada. Whether thats what we want or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is can we prove it?

You don't need a return ticket to apply for the study visa. If you have it, it helps your case but you do not need it.

freshdude: @all, my dad is my sponsor..but we dont share the same surname. apart from his birth certificate, what other document do i have to include in my file as prove of relationship.

Have your dad include a letter in your application package that states he is your father and he is willing to sponsor you for the duration of your stay in canada. It helps clear the whole sponsor problem.

pauloman: I dont think permanent residents need a visa to visit or cross over at the border to enter usa. As a permanent resident you would be issued a permanent residence card which is what you present at the border to allow you enter the usa. I stand corrected though...if there is an additional or contrary information to this.

I also know that as a citizen or even a permanent resident of Canada there are some countries you dont need a visa to enter or travel to...USA is one of such countries amongst a host of others.

As a permanent resident of Canada, you need a visa to enter the us. It really depends on what other countries' passport you carry.

If they didn't share same travel database, you would have both us and Canadian authorities at each entry. Both will Need to track when you leave and enter, rather than just entering.

Of course, if you had a bit of sense, you will realize there are different types and functions of databases. I mentioned travel database but if you some schooling on databases, I will be glad to help as a computer scientist myself.

Yes they share the same travel database now - have done so for couple of years now.
For example, this last weekend I went across the border to the US. When leaving canada, you do not encounter any canadian authority, just US. When coming back, you do not encounter any US authority, just Canadian.
But they both knew when we left and when we came back in.

Their immigration lawyer is the 'most crookest' and dishonest Nigerian I ever met in my life. I wouldn't trust a single thing he says either.

I have been following this case in regina for a while now.
The students have been in regina for years and know the rules. They thought they could get away with it.
All they needed to do was get a 65% pass in their classes and get an off campus work permit. They fact they did not have it is their fault.

You can have a case of couple dating way before they are both ready for marriage eg 3while both of them are in school. In such cases, what is needed is a bf, gf and the standards /requirements for those are not so high. There could be issues that also need working out but you are more likely to give it time in the hopes that it gets better.
However as the time you get ready to settle down nears, you start looking at your partner more critically and you are more likely to decide you can't tolerate those errant behaviours anymore. Hence the breakafter many years.

What exactly are you doing that is making him think you are cheating? Time to have a sit down and talk moment with him

Ladies in thehouse that keep excusing or forgiving your errant partners cheating lifestyle, pls have some respect for yourselves. Don't stand for a cheating partner. Let him know from day 1 that if he cheats, you are walking out of the door. It's painful to walk out but do so. Your future lovers will know from your past you are not to be trifled with.

When she cheats, she is a slut, ashewo or has simply given her heart to another and it's all over. Why not consider the fact that it could have been a moment of weakness on her part too. It is this double standard that infuriates me about this issue.
What makes you think you are better than her. What makes you think it's inky you or other men that are capable of cheating without emotions. What iif the only emotions she has towatdsnthe other guy is hate? Stop brushing all women with the same brush,. Like men, they are all different and capable of different emotional response.

Your posts don't sound like you really love the dude. Even though I think its nuts for a guy at his age not to have a decent job and easily afford a wife but reality is life hands us different paths in life.
If you as a lady can't support your guy for couple of years (in the name of not wanting to be a husband), then you shouldn't be with him. He shouldn't be with you either as you can't help support his dreams and future.
