I'm very sure you have heard the saying 'dont wash your dirty linens in public', thats exactly what this man just did.

I am a Man. A married man at that. All I will say is that 'I understand what the man did and can even make an excuse for why he did what he did', but that does not make the husbands action (of putting the pictures and videos online) to be the mature thing to do.

What I would have expected the Man to do is;

1. Go with a witness to the bust (preferably a family friend|spiritual head or somebody close with high ability to keep secrets).
2. Take his pictures (to have as evidence incase he decides to take the case to court for divorce).
3. Use the pictures only as evidence when necessary when stating his reason for marriage annulment to her family.
4. Make peace with himself, with her and with the gods (if he is a believer) and pick up his life from where it is and move on.


So now that he has put the picture online, what did it stand to achieve?!

*and if witnesses are later found to have lied, they will get 80 lashes of the cane each, will never be witnesses to anything ever again until they may have been known to have sought repentance and become changed.

*a pious woman is not slandered against.

The punishment would be---

*for unmarried people- 100 lashes of the cane.
*for thearried - stoning to death.

It would be rare to find these happening because no one would want to have this kind of punishment. The society is less perverted and vices like rape, are not rampant.

It's simple. What the woman did is wrong and what the man did is also wrong (although you can put it down to temporary insanity or excess vexation).

I understand you. But nothing in my post says the woman is right. I think he had enough time through planning, catching them and then posting. He was not even alone with them.

He thought it through jare..he wanted to bring her to shame but he can only know the beginning of this. He cannot be sure of the consequences, even on himself.

In her husbands defence he can blame it on anger, disappointment, pain, fear, disgrace, heartbreak, etc. because at this point emotions have overcome reason. In the same vein, did the lady consider what she was doing (before she did it) with respect to herself (zero pride) her pregnancy (most women I know protect it with their life), her other kids with her husband (their future), her husbands status in the society (his respect from others).

Note that, I definitely and am totally against what she did. But there is no excuse for what the husband did. As the head of his home, whatever that is wrong, whatever it is that made the woman cheat, he has a responsibility for.

He should have at least found a more honourable way to deal with this situation. He went out with a plan to put her to shame and did just that.

2) Public concern. If a woman wears tight trousers, must the man look? Doesnt islam tell people to lower their gaze? Why would a grown man not be able to stop staring at a woman's bottom on the street. Did they glue his neck or something?

The only time for public concern is when there is nudity. You cant walk around naked on the streets.

You forget that the rule on dressing does not apply to women alone. Men too.
