PoliticsRe: Will PDP Win Lagos Come 2015? by deolumike(m): 5:56pm On Nov 28, 2012
Lagos State was created on May 27, 1967 by virtue of State (Creation and Transitional Provisions) Decree No. 14 of 1967, which restructured Nigeria’s Federation into 12 states. Prior to this, Lagos Municipality had been administered by the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Lagos Affairs as the regional authority, while the Lagos City Council (LCC) governed the City of Lagos. Equally, the metropolitan areas (Colony Province) of Ikeja, Agege, Mushin, Ikorodu, Epe and Badagry were administered by the Western Region. The State took off as an administrative entity on April 11, 1968 with Lagos Island serving the dual role of being the State and Federal Capital. However, with the creation of the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja in 1976, Lagos Island ceased to be the capital of the State which was moved to Ikeja. Equally, with the formal relocation of the seat of the Federal Government to Abuja on 12 December 1991, Lagos Island ceased to be Nigeria’s political capital. Nevertheless, Lagos remains the center of commerce for the country.
It unfortunate that we hv people who try to rewrite history. It was just a fraction of lagos state that was controled by the FG. Western region built lots and where taken over by the FG. D'Vanguard God bless you. grin

This happened during Abacha- 1 million man march for Abacha to stay as a civilian president.
This happened again during Obasanjo's 8 years rule.- Some said they will die if Obasanjo doesnt go for a third time.

Which way Nigeria? Those enjoying from the pot of corruption wants it to continue.

Question now is What indeed has Manitoba done to correct the "due process" anomaly that has now seen it reinstated unconditionally?

. Reading some people's post, you'd sense they were paid to defend the incompetency of an inert administration. Bootlickers and sychophnats. That you and your parents are benefitting from the deplorable status quo will only make you partakers of the wrathful judgment when it comes.
PoliticsRe: What Did You Learn From The Presidential Media Chat? by deolumike(m): 8:37am On Nov 19, 2012
wesley80: Eh yah, I see why you were so disappointed. You obviously were expecting GEJ to solve Nigeria's problem through a media chat! Sorry dear, it doesnt work that way.
No one is under any illusion, the country's numerous challenges are obvious to all and the one person feeling the heat is GEJ -take my word for it- Now what's the message when hopelessness pervades like you guys have demonstrated? Simple: Hope, and that's exactly what GEJ has given, anything less and he wont be a leader.
Now what I expect educated folks to do is to objectively and critically evaluate the foundation on which GEJ is building the Hope he's selling to the nation and arrive at a conclusion whether or not he should be given the benefit of doubt but sadly, all I've read are pathetic emotional comments bereft of substance. I think we as a people have got to grow up and understand what the term 'nation building' entails, we all have a role to play in building the country of our dreams and it starts with Giving our brains a chance!
. Hope! Pal, what hope did an ordinary Nigerian get from listening to the same old repeated promises over again with no sign of implementation. Did you observe he didn't give satisfactory answers to the questions thrown at him. No convincing answers backed with facts and figures. one does not understand what you mean by saying Nigerians should give their "brains a chance". Nigerians deserve better than leadership than this!

shymexx: It seems the unintelligent folks on the thread think revolution means civil war, or they're just feigning ignorance because they benefit directly or indirectly from the corrupt government... Arab Spring in Tunisia and Egypt = revolution... Islamic revolution of Iran, French revolution, Cuban revolution etc. is the type of revolution Nigeria needs...

The death rate in Nigeria is more then 10,000 annually, so Nigerians shouldn't be scared of dying... The roads might be rough at the beginning, however, the end will always justify the means... Someone needs to break this vicious cycle of poverty, corruption, nepotism, filth, underdevelopment, death, destruction etc. Nigeria should be representing the future of the black race, not the rubbish it's right now... I guess that's why I post with anger on NL everyday because we're too blessed and we've too much potentials to be as messed up as we're right now, to be honest...

Christianity EtcRe: Where Do You Stand With Illuminati Theories? by deolumike(m): 8:55am On Nov 13, 2012
Aringon: My stand is that ILuMINATI is real whether you believe it or not. Satan does not want to spend eternity alone in hell and he has his strategies to recruit as many faithfuls as possible. In ILLUMINATI, there are ranks and the entertainers(music, actors and actresses) are the lower ranks and there are grand master(rockefellers, the Bush, the royal families throughout europe, the super rich, the former presidents of US, the former PM of UK,Catholic Church yes the Pope is a member etc). Who are those that are controlling the entertainment world, the media etc? Where did you do your research? On the internet right? Who controls what is published on the internet to favour them?

Rockefellers are the master, the own youtube and the like and can determine what goes in there. What do you think is New World Order?
When Kanye West said " I sold my soul to the devil" what do you think it is? Oh he is just rapping right? You guys should open your eyes and see that the end is near, he sold his soul to the devil to get popular(fame and all). Don't just throw this to the dustbin, think man cos it is not a simple matter.

Why did Jay Z compete himself with Jesus Christ by saying his name is Hovah short form of Jehovah. Let me tell you, Jay Z join the Freemanson cult at the age of 12 and has been there and all cult come under Illuminati.

I don't want to disvulge so much here, concentrate in making your path okay with your creator cos the end is at sight but remember a time is coming for the number 666 to be manifested cos if u don't hv it, u will not be able to either buy or sell. Jesus Christ loves you, he died on the cross of calvary for ur sake, turn over to Him for He careth for u and remember, will you spend eternity in Heaven or hell? The choice is yours

Christianity EtcRe: Where Do You Stand With Illuminati Theories? by deolumike(m): 8:28am On Nov 13, 2012
If you really want to know the Truth about these powerful cults, There's no need for aggresive research. Get a copy of the Bible and read chapter 17 of Revelation. And if you want to know how it will end then read chapter 18. You'll learn the truth from an omnipresent perspective. Then you'll have to make Ɣ☺ΰя own decision.
PoliticsRe: Obasanjo: "The Danger Posed By Unemployed Youths Is Real & Potent by deolumike(m): 10:22pm On Nov 12, 2012
kokosheen: Dude, I laugh at what you term ignorance, which means you're non-ignorant shey, Ode (I didn't say you're F0Ol grin).

The 1st point you raised makes no sense and I doubt if you earn REAL money or run a business. Wake up, everyone is in debt. From the America you all run to, to the countries that make up the Paris club. It doesn't make much common sense to pay-off a whole chunk of how many billions of dollars NOI scammed OBJ to pay in one go, if the debt is structured well. It even acts as a deterrence to other Mofos coming after Obj not to borrow more (Like we've clearly seen, next year the external debt profile will rise to $9 Billion, while domestic is already close to $18Billion (or something in this region)). That money could have been used to execute urgently needed capital projects but no, they had to pay off their masters.
Having a good level of debt is good, that's if you listen to NOI (thank God, she's the same main actor in both govts)

on your 2nd point, your so-called high foreign reserve was a scam because OBJ signed-off on so many power projects (good job on that) whose cash calls didn't come through till after he left (if you know anything about budget phasing/payment structures/plan, you'll appreciate that NOT all commitments are paid for at point of contract/purchase order award). This now brings to question what OBJ spent the $8Billion for power projects in his last 4 years on shey wink

On your third point, shey you know the period OBJ was in power and left was the when the world financial mess was created by the banking cowboys abi? You cannot create sustainable wealth without a manufacturing industry to support it. That's why out of all the European countries, its the Scandinavian countries and Germany that have withstood the storm (Even Iceland that had the first banking crisis (triggerhuh) has sustained growth). The money was there then and foreign investors flooded the Nigerian market with FX, after the bubble bust, they ran away and the economy has been on shaky mode since (without the worldwide financial crisis, Cecilia Ibru would never have gone to jail wink, wrong timing).

On your fourth point, what employment did he reducehuh sit there and be lying to yourself grin. Whatever employment gain/loss we had in the period and since then, is directly attributed to my statement above as banks were opening branches as if they were competing with RCCG and employing massively to man these branches (of course you know about the subsequent massive lay-off not long after).

On your fifth point, seriously SMH for you. The guy didn't give me nada, he gave licenses to mobile phone providers, no light to power them,no infrastructure to support them, sh1t, those guys had to start from scratch and you're here writing trash. Do you know the amount of kickback OBJ received till he left power? angry

On a final note, I wouldn't have bothered to respond to you if some people didn't go liking your post and it creates a sad feeling within me that Nigerians are now so bastardized that our mental psyche accepts whatever condition we find ourselves. Dude! OBJ is a traitor to this country and he has NEVER wished well for me and you. All these things you appreciate him for, are crumbs when you see the amount of wealth + potential of the country being wasted. Take a trip to KL and see what a country that came to yours for palm kennel seeds have done for themselves embarassed.
. Nice one jare and that's just the truth of the matter. The guy made it seem like Mahatma Ghandi was a villain compared to Obj. Sometimes I wonder what makes Nigerians adulate political leaders that deserve prosecution. Obj that held on to the allocation of Lagos state because of some vendatta with the then incumbent gov over creation of much needed local governments. I remembered the supreme court gave its ruling on the matter.

coolIt's quiet unfortunate that the Governor's statement has elicited such dismal reactions. It's clear enough. The law applies to everyone that is within the jurisdiction of Lagos state regardless of Ɣ☺ΰя ethnicity. EVERYONE within the borders. It's where we call home and we will continue to be each other's neigbours so the earlier we got along with one another, the better. But frankly, it's not particularly heartwarming for our Igbo brethren to claim they own Lagos state. No indegene of any place will welcome people from another state with such attitude. Nigeria remains a federal entity.
