walakolobo: Work your way up into his university, become his professor and then teach him what research methods he should use in carrying out his research - when has it become your own rights and duties to say someone's research methodologies are flawed? How do you think realy? @walakolobo. Mr Research expert, have you read what your American research friends wrote regarding the point I raised? seanjb: Someone pointed out that as a white person selling Gala I could not get an accurate view the typical hawker’s life, and similarly, as someone who works for a street traders’ rights organization in New York, my research will be biased. On the first point, you are entirely right – I was treated much differently than the average Nigerian Gala-seller. But it was still a worthwhile way for me to spend an afternoon, and I gained some valuable insights that I did not gain in the many days I have spent interviewing street traders in Lagos. |

Damn! I'm getting sick and tired of this country every day! @ ono A responsible government has a duty to go public about this. We as citizens have a right to be informed of any threat to our lives, no matter the financial cost to any business man |
Politics › Re: American Gala Seller Responds! by deor03(m): 10:42am On Jun 20, 2009 |
walakolobo: This man has just succeeded in proving that the people on this forum are nothing but egg heads, stupid fellows and arrant nonsence writting fellows - the first post generated sos much meaningless responses- even calling someone on a research mission a spy? How do you people think? From your butt holes? Now the guy comes again to challenge you and to tell you his true academic mission, and instead of contributing meaningfully, you all still rant thru your butt holes, while the man, a real academician, learns not to reply but just read and laugh! You guys need a lot of beating, training and growing up to do - you dont neeed to open up your mouth and write whatever comes out of it, just like the reporter did - saying the man has been hawking for five months whereas he has only hawked for one day- what a people these Nigerians are. @walakolobo I don't believe people can still be as gullible as you. What are his research objectives? If his reseach objectives is to know what gala sellers go through; then HE IS NOT THE RIGHT PERSON TO SELL IT ; the reason is that customers WILL NOT respond to him thesame way they will respond to an average galla seller So the research finding is completely flawed. He could have given a grant of N1,000 per day to 5 gala sellers per day and interview them at the end of the day for his research. |

Does he have the work permit or the right visa to work in Nigeria?
Why is KAI not arresting this guy; street trading is a crime in Lagos?
Is this guy not using gala sale ; as a cover-up for some other espionage?
It amazes me, what usually get us amused; when people are supposed to be asking deep questions? Many hundreds of years ago, our fore fathers were amazed when they saw the white man had their fingers burnt.
It's rather funny that till date we are still doing the-same things all over again.
I suggest you read Confessions of an Economic Hit Man by John Perkins (2004), and understand that that guy on the street of Ojota is doing a very different job, not gala sale |

What do these guys take us for. desgiezd: The Nigerian Compass ran a story yesterday claiming that Yar’Adua was heading for a showdown with Tinubu. The Nigerian Compass ( owned by Tinubu), ran a story claiming the Yaradua is heading for a showdown with Tinubu. If Tinubu, does not have a skeleton in his cupboard; then he should not be afraid or use his newspapers to create sentiments. |

doshbass: I do not see any point of him being a lecturer for practical music, Can he read Music? It makes sense for him to come once in a while and give students lecture in his style of music and he's experience in the world music environment.
I do not consider him as a professional Musician, To be a music Teacher, you have to be able to read and play any music from a score sheet. Can KSA do this? if he can the I support his appoitment as a lecturer, if not he should be a seasoned guest lecturer
don't get me wrong he is a legend and a good artist and performer and he's one of the best in JUJU music I totally disagree with you on this. You have to look at the environment where sunny ade operates. By all standards, he is a success in what he is doing ( or has done). In Nigeria or in his catchment area ( yoruba speaking part of the world) , you don't need to be able to read music to to deliver. Since these students are being prepared for this local market, they should also have a taste of the local success . KSA experience in the industry will be able to impact on the students future choices. otherwise , they will end up having opera concerts with empty seats and ofcourse empty pockets in future |
