If America takes loans it is to finance America almost 90 percent, if Britain takes loans it is to finance British businesses, if China takes loans it is to build Chinese infrastructure by the Chinese. If Nigeria takes loans half of it remains abroad by giving it back to the Chinese, Germans, British and Americans to build infrastructure for us.

I repeat again. Infrastructure is the biggest scam in public finances. It is often shrouded in secret. Credit conditions are rarely in the public domain and efficiency are terribly low. It is common knowledge that our roads cost more than most places on earth, our airports are heavily overpriced, our dollar to megawatt power delivery ratio is meteoric. Stadiums, rail lines, seaports, all funded by loans cost more and yet account for huge capital flight. So how can you co oare tne effect of loans the developed world takes to what we disastrously take.

Any infrastructure that is not executed to the wholistic benefit of the country in creating jobs, stimulating businesses and establiahing skills and technology cannot profit the economy. If the Chinese want to invest in Nigeria they should BOT rail infrastructure. If the Germans want to invest in bridges and roads they should build and toll. If Hyundai Heavy wants to invest in seaports they should recoup from port charges. If GE wants to build power stations they should register as a GENCO. But if we are taking loans for infrastructure the monies should end up in the pockets of Nigerian engineers, wholly Nigerian companies and the weather beaten Nigerian labour force. Then it will have a real, positive impact on our GDP.

Don't expect APC members to understand simple economics.
He's relying only on GDP/debt ratio as the factor to determine ability to repay loans.

This is not the first time. That bridge that spans less than 1km together with the adjoining road cost more than #2 billion. Money was certainly embezzled.

You should rather confirm. Mokwa/Jebba has not been done.
I'm not talking about Ilorin/Jebba road or the bridge that collapsed along the Mokwa road and that's what you can see in the pictures.

Why should this government upload the picture of the road that has long been completed? Or why should they include Jebba-Mokwa section that has not been touched?
This is a road I know very well, so think well before you reply.

One evening around 2013, I was about going home wen I walked pass the mortuary unit of UITH. I had just finished anatomy practical. I saw dead bodies around 10 in numbers all market women. They were roasted beyond recognition as they were returning from minna/Bida/Jebba. The bad Ilorin Mokwa road led to their accident. I feel happy seeing that the road is now completed. Why such road had little attention from previous government still remained mystery to me. Everything isn't about party politics. This is a nice work from this administration!!!

The road was bad, but the Bida-Mokwa axis has already been completed and Ilorin-Jebba part at completion stage by the time Buhari took over in 2015. Jebba-Mokwa is still a mess as it was.
If this government wants to take any credit, they should complete the Shao Junction-Eiyenkorin section they started in March

One of my Aunties had a terrible accident on this road around 1999,..she just finished serving and was coming from Jos to Ibadan. The accident happened around Mokua and she never remain the same ever since.

The report is mischievious. The Mokwa-Jebba part of the road has not been touched yet and it's no news that the Ilorin-Jebba section has been completed long before now. The reason why this is news is what I don't understand.

PDP fixed the road you see in that picture. APC just started another section of it in march. I don't know why politicians lie like this, but the Mokwa-Jebba section has not been touched the last time I passed by and there's no way it would have been completed by now.
The completion of Ilorin-Jebba road predates Buhari presidency.
Lai went to inspect the Shao-Eiyenkorin section (which starts just behind the cameraman that took that picture) that was started in March.

You failed to tell us the percentage of the budget that was implemented. It's not enough to have #20 trillion budget when you know half of it won't see implementation.

They took the pictures of the part that has been completed for years and left the one under construction. Turning the camera 180 degree would capture the one under construction (Shao Junction to Eiyenkorin). This government is pathetic

I was expecting to see him at the Michael Imodu - Ganmo road. I'm sure the road is still at the same level from the last time I saw it.
I think Jonathan did Ilorin to Jebba. They just started Shao Junction - Eiyenkorin axis in March. Jebba to Mokwa is still a death trap.
Geri Alimi project is a Kwara state project.
All in all, this part shown has already been completed for years.

Unfortunately, you don't calculate like that. This is a budget,it doesn't mean all that will be used, but allowances has to be created for miscellaneous.

Also, feeding of policemen does not mean it will. Be a two times a day feeding. Don't forget, the police will be stationed after the election is over, the whole night until everything is counted and collected and result announced.

The Corp members used in the exercise will have to be fed too. Don't forget, they will also be there the whole night before the exercise and after. They staff will also be fed.

The point I am making is, when preparing a budget, it is better you have a surplus than needed than end up having wants. From my experience, the title feeding of police may just be a subhead or title used to include all sort of feeding

You should note that feeding of INEC Adhoc staff is different from that of the Police. The Police get paid for the special duty so I don't understand the need for it
