Very interesting, now all the illegal activities of lecturers on campuses will be on the spotlight. The demigod attitudes of Nigerian University lecturers should exposed to the public. People at home and in govt have no idea how our universities really are.

obyrich:
I give up for Nigerian Universities. I had to boycott an M Sc. program after I discovered it was not adding value to my career. I don't just want to parade a worthless certificate.
.

Same here, my course is currently being offered by 5 unis, when I left Sch there 2 unis . Some ambitious Prof and Senior Lecturers in both unis started a Post graduate degree program but without a legal framework for it neither accreditation and they invited practicing professionals with the first degree to take the program especially those in govt services to boost their profile in the civil service.
Some colleagues rushed to attend. I refused to waste my hard earned money because that's what they are after. These people who have not been to upgrade and update the quality of their current curriculum, equipment for clinical and teaching materials expects the likes of me to come and sit in their classes and take lectures like we did in undergraduate days and earn worthless degrees just to make them happy that they are offering advanced degrees. That's the current fraud our Unis are to into.
The never-say-die attitude of the average Nigerian is the reason we thrive in any environment especially in diaspora.

Accreditation of courses is done from time to time. A course could be accredited today and fail accreditation next time depending on changes that may have taken place within the period under review.
Thank You, lots of people commenting here are just ignorant about almost everything.
They have no idea how systems work only runs to comment senselessness.
Universities are supposed to be updating and upgrading their courses regularly but ours are runned by incompetent VCs who only sit to occupy positions and allocate funds. They often don't care about accreditation as far as NUC is prosecuting anybody for these.

Mr. Minister forgot to mention who initiated and started the project.
Initiating and or starting a project is not an accomplishment my dear. There thousands of initiated /started but abandoned govt projects nationwide. Before now, every new govt in power abandons projects of their predecessors no matter how relevant it was, only to start another one of similar or different type just to award contracts to cronies. But the present administrations has been doing otherwise, completing inherited projects and commissioning them for Nigerian to whom it was really meant for.
This is change. Sadly, Nigerians are fighting the govt out of shame of seeing what their hero couldn't complete now being completed.
I weep for our youths, because with this fishbrain mentality Nig may never recover. The so-called "future leaders " do not have the right attitude to champion their future they are showing any evidence that they are or can be better than the generation they are blaming for years of national disaster and disgrace. angry
Sports › Weightlifter's Grandmother Dies Celebrating His Medal-winning Performance by DeRay98(op): 11:33am On Aug 09, 2016
The thrill of triumph for an Olympic bronze medal-winning Thai weightlifter was met with dire agony.

Sinphet Kruaithong became the first male Thai weightlifter to medal at the Olympics, capturing third place in the 56-kilogram division in Rio de Janeiro, and his hometown of Surin erupted in elation. But Sunday’s celebration turned to tragedy when his grandmother collapsed and died amid the hysteria.

“The initial assumption is that she died from heart failure — but we have to wait for the hospital’s result,” Surin police officer Somwang Prangprakoan told AFP. “I’m not sure if she was too excited, or if maybe she was already ill.”
Listed at 82 years old by the Bangkok Post and 84 by AFP, Subin Khongthap fainted at a live viewing party in Surin’s Chumphon Buri District. The Bangkok Post reported she did not witness her grandson win bronze, but regained consciousness before being rushed to the hospital, where she died an hour later.

“I cheer him on, fight fight!” Subin told the local media prior to the event, according to AFP. “I miss my grandson and want him to be successful. He does this for the country to bring the gold medal back.”

The 121-pound Sinphet lifted 289 kilograms (roughly 637 pounds) to finish third behind China’s Long Qingquan and North Korea’s Om Yun Chol. Sinphet’s mother, Chan Kruaithong, told Thai PBS the family will hold both a welcome ceremony for her son and a religious ceremony for his grandmother.

Not just civil servants. All institutions that have lose monitoring and control.
There's this conoil filling station at Area 1 Round About in Abuja, anytime you want buy fuel in kegs for generator, the attendants always insists that you'll give them additional money from N150 if not they won't sell to you. They will even tell you to go and meet their manager.
It's sad because that's how businesses die without the owners knowing it. Employees killing business because of greed.
its not necessarily all, but its very broad, a huge majority are into it. Whenever there is a new oga at the top, things appear to improve. if you go to such offices, at such times, they do the right thing but once they new Oga has settled down their old habits creeps back into action.
Civil service is the bedrock of the Corruption in Nigeria, they influence new ministers and other govt appointees on how to exploit the system and they share the loot. At the lowest level, they treat as if they are doing you a favour and you MUST " appreciate" them.

when I see statements like this, I get really annoyed. I am a Christian too,and I know the verse that says "wisdom is the principal thing, in all thy getting, get understanding". It will happen, and if they refuse to leave, they will be swallowed by flood, because even God doesn't tolerate foolishness, people would rather pray and fast instead of using their common sense to do things, to me I see it praying amiss and don't forget "faith without work is...", the work here is using your sense to do the right thing by listening to the warning

And Cynthia, stop praying for your Mother-in-law to die grin. (the old woman probably attends MFM Church &she's got a few "Back2Sender" prayer-bullets for you too, in case u decide to be an assassin)sad!

This is what some lazy, selfish, stupid girls secretly wish, so that they can take "control" of the man for their selfish interests. Hence, they see mother-in-laws as barriers to their plans, they fail to realize that some time in the not-so-far away future the stone they throw to mother-in-law will drop on their own head from another would-be daughter-in-law.
