Sugar Baby It is true that I now approach the supposed marriageable age for young men, so I would call myself a bachelor and your prospective husband. This has obviously made me available to all types and manners of ladies. They say bloggers are womanizers because the internet exposes you to more readers and hence you build a connection with people online and maybe offline. I would not say this is a false premise, but note that my type of blogging is a much focused one, so be rest assured that my loyalty to this cause is certain. I don’t belong to that school that craves so much attention by filling you up with too much loving words ( i love writing love letters anyway). This is not to say that our marriage won’t befun filled anyway. At least it is important to take a cue from the recent wave of domestic violence. I have decided to add reality to practicality so you could enjoy the man you want to spend the rest of your life with. Let me tell you a little bit about me, growing up I was made to enjoy lots of home made food; freshly pounded yam, freshly prepared Egusi Soup, and all sorts of home made meals; excellent. It is a certainty that you are going to emerge from where I am currently based, please note that I will not accept eating out or bringing soups from restaurants. I know you are going to be beautiful and very trendy. Hello! Let that trendiness affect your family….It is home made food for me, nothing else. If you have not schooled yourself in the art of cooking, Biko I like food, get on with it, no excuses. That notwithstanding, we get to eat out once in a while, occasionally it is. I am not an Oyibo husband that wakes up and makes a meal, I don’t watch Telemundo or what do you call those soap operas, so you don’t preach husband ‘cook for your wife lecture’ to me. I was not trained that way. I could help you with the dishes or in laundry, but please do not deem it a necessity, as this is primarily your concern. I am a traditional African man; I don’t deal all those unnecessary niceties that won’t lead anywhere. This doesn’t make me any less romantic anyway. I understand romance, don’t remind me. Oshey! If you attempt to bring the fact that you work 9-5 to me. The best bet is to talk to your boss and seek for your disengagement from work. The money I make is enough for all of us. I could even pay you salary. Do not even try it. If you want to do gender equality, read very good books to learn and understand what needs to be understood, not follow some group of Nigerians who we are not even certain what they preach is true. Do not expect so much from me on our wedding night, as I may be too tired to have that love making you may crave for, infact do not expect lots during our honeymoon, as I may be busy blogging as usual. This is not a counter motion to the fact that you would have a sex-filled-cum-latte marriage. Your hubby will never fall short. As an Ondo Man, it is my duty to fill my wife up and make her dance ‘shoki’ to my tunes. Expect a lot of that! Do not even attempt to ‘suck’ or want to be ‘sucked’. I am old fashioned, my parents did not train me to be sucked on, I am not feeding bottle okay? 40 years this year and they are still together. Suck or no suck, don’t bring in jagbajantis to me Biko! I want to have two kids, any less is a NO, any more is a NO. This will allow me channel my resources as appropriate and allow for enough savings to keep you at home in case you misbehave and wanna start ‘nagging’. Any attempt to have a third en, that third will go to your father’s house and will not be a part of our sorted out family. He/she won’t even bear my name. Trust me when I say ‘two’ I already have it captured in the books. Oh Nag! Dear Sugar, I hate the sound of that, do you understand what is called ‘Dialogue’? Wallahi I am an advocate. Nagging may put me off our home for 2 months, and God bless your soul, you leave the kids to a nanny to say you want to leave the home too. You go ‘hear’ am. It is not going to be rosy, there will be a lot of thorns along that path to marriage righteousness, but believe me, we will work it through, but don’t even try to attempt to nag at me! You can be rich, even richer. It is allowed, just don’t try to rub it in. I don’t love proud women, so if you know you are proud from your parent’s house. Leave that your pride at my doorstep and don’t allow it follow you in! You will suffer for it. People say I am selfish, self centred. I don’t know if they are right or not. If they are, better for us both. Marrying you makes you automatically a part of me, so selfishness will help the family. It’s just going to be you, me: Us, no outsiders. Isn’t that what you wish for? I am a proud supporter of excellence, and I will support you no matter the extent you want to reach in your career, so far you put your obligations as a married woman into perspective. I know mine as the head of the house, do not attempt to re-iterate it. Please ensure you have big bums, as I am a fan of the usual ‘turn your back style’ when it comes to bedmantics. I love to smack and tickle from behind. If you don’t possess this, ‘abeg, no even come my way’. I am indifferent to the ‘jugs’ whether huge or not in as much as they still remain firm even after two kids! I don’t need to tell you what to do. You are smart enough to know what not. Put your mind away from the thoughts of me being a chauvinist as I am not. I just don’t want us to keep up with the pretense that abounds around us. Gorrit? I hope you gets the facts right and stick with it…Pending any other observations, and reflections. I want to wish us a Happy Fruitful life in advance. It’s me and you forever. I promise to be the best husband ever, and the most outstanding father to our unborn kids. This is my sacred pledge. Cheers SugarBaby It’s me your prospective Hubby SayNoToDomesticViolence...from www.deedeesblog.com |

I woke up this morning and after performing my normal morning routine I decided to check my Facebook and was greeted with the news of Tiwa Savage’s response to her husband’s allegations. I read the interview carefully and decided to go online for the full gist and what I saw and read was devastating to say the least but before I talk about that why don’t I back up a bit and talk about what led to that, that is, Tee Billz’s rant on Instagram. I wonder what happened to the world, I wonder what happened to courtesy, I wonder what happened to common sense, when did it come to this? People putting their entire life on display on social media, couples fighting and breaking up on social media; becoming a source of entertainment for people. Is the world now that bad that a “Man” uses a social media to basically tarnish, undermine and destroy her wife’s image, what happened to folks working things out in private? Whatever happened to the days of men taking care of their business behind closed doors? To make matters worse Tee Billz didn’t just make accusations about his wife, he also threatened suicide. Who does that? What kind of grown man say all that about his wife and feel the next thing to do is commit suicide? I mean really! Suicide is the answer? This is either a carefully laid out publicity stunt ( a means of cashing out on his failed marriage, after all everything he said was scripted to get sympathy from men and anybody who has been cheated on before) or he’s the biggest joker in the history of man. I find it very funny that the first time seeing Tiwa savage without make up is when she’s coming out to tell everybody she knows her marriage isn’t going to work. No wonder my friend Kemi posted on Facebook that Tiwa savage dressed like someone whose husband just died. It was obviously a PR means of cleansing whatever blemish Tee- billz’s accusations might have splashed on her image, I mean just because she’s coming to clear the air doesn’t mean she can’t dress like a Diva like she always does right? This was obviously a way to gain sympathy from people after this divorce has now become a popularity contest. Who won’t support a plain woman crying about her husband’s infidelity and assault, I mean that was perfectly scripted. Before you start blowing my head off here’s why I think both of them are just trying to make the best of a bad situation. Tiwa said she knew the marriage wasn’t going to work, doesn’t that just sound inane? How do you know that a marriage is going to fail and then you go ahead with it not only that you even had a child and how come we’ve never heard report of any assault on her by her husband or seen any sign to that effect? It seems to me that the whole interview was a way for Tiwa to save face and to have their sympathy. I give her a lot of props though she responded to Tee-Billz the old fashioned way; using an interview and not some social media platform but I just wish both of them would act like the adults they are and keep their problems to themselves and not make themselves play thing for the whole world. These two statements often times fascinate me, why, because I keep reliving the experience during my days in the University. I had the opportunity of being friends with benefit and also having a booty call. For the experts and those that are very much aware, these sentences should not be new to you. However for the sake of guys who may be dealing with these words for the first time. I will take my time to define what they mean. Friends with benefit simply means what it is, some of you might wonder what do I mean by mentioning benefits and others might totally understand what it means. Let me make this somewhat clear and specific, benefits is more like having a sexual and intimate relationship with the opposite sex with no strings attached. A friend with benefit can also be called a casual relationship or more simply a fling. Wikipedia defines casual relationship as a physical and emotional relationship between two people who may have casual sex or a near-sexual relationship without necessarily demanding or expecting the extra commitments of a more formal romantic relationship. We need to understand that certain differences exist in the acceptance of casual relationships. This acceptability is also dependent on the society that we find ourselves in. From research, the friends with benefit are very popular among Nigerians. Booty Call is an invitation by someone of the opposite sex to hang out at his/her place often times to have casual sex. It is mostly arranged via phone calls or text messages. What happens really is that you get a call most times from a female who bears it all and informs you straight on that it’s a booty call. It is therefore your decision to head to the location or to stay put. The questions that keeps coming to mind today was what exactly necessitated the booty calls and friends in benefit back then. Was it due to the fact that I was very adventurous, or someone who wants a great deal of sex, or it was just youthful exuberance? This was what I thought back then, however growing up and out of it I realized that obliging the booty calls or having a friend with benefit wasn’t borne out of the youthful exuberance, but the need to be involved in something that won’t necessarily indulge me into committing myself. I realized, there is an attraction albeit sexual, and there is this mutual understanding not to fully commit to a serious relationship. So it leads to a relationship somewhat friendly. While you can’t run away from the fact that sometimes it gets real queasy and rather queer when you realize that you are getting closer than necessary in the friendly relationship. LOL! It usually makes the relationship difficult to handle. You need to quickly analyse the situation put yourself back on track to forestall further issues from arising since the relationship was specifically defined to be non-committal. Booty calls are easier, it is usually one off and then everyone moves on. However, by the time booty calls become twice, trice and on! Then it has moved from being just booty calls into friends with benefit, do you get what I’m saying. As it easy all these sounds, it is extremely difficult to handle, and both situations, if not handled properly may lead to a fiesty and committed relationship. However, if the condition is to maintain mutualism in its entirety and not something serious and deep rooted, then it is important to review the friendly relationship from time to time. This would prevent a lot of backlash, and eventual hurt. Therefore if you are mature enough to handle such situations and make such tough decisions, I’d say why not indulge yourself anyway. Isn’t it better to just be more realistic with ourselves than involve in arelationship riled with lies, distrust and eventual heartbreak. Just note that it is easy to backtrack on vocal commitment. A guideline should be written, yes I say wriiten shich is to be reviewed from time to time, so that there is an understanding on what is and what is not. As much I preach love and relationships, sometimes we need to take a step out of the norm and look at instances when flings are deemed necessary. It doesn’t hurt to do that, does it? PART2 ‘You forgot to pick your NOEC from the table’ I told her on the way out of the classroom. ‘It’s not mine’ she replied. Suddenly the world went still as I paused. I ran back into the class to retrieve the book Alas! It was gone! I could almost say it disappeared. It was there a few seconds before. What happened? Suddenly my mind told me I was in a very deep trouble. I blinked twice, willing for the book to re-appear. It did not! Yee! Mo daran! I ran into the loo to poopoo, as I suddenly developed a runny stomach’. The remaining hours I spent at school that day was hell. I felt like a cat that fell into water. It was like every eye was on me. Every gathering I walked past, Every group I move close to be talking about me. Even when my best friend asked what was wrong with me, it felt like mockery. I ran back to my seat awaiting my judgment. Someone has the letter and I was sure it was the teacher. SEUNFUNMI! I wasn’t sure I heard well. SEUNFUNMI! That was my teacher’s voice, I was sure of that. “Talk of the devil” I thought I nearly peed in my pants as I ran over to his table. Sah! I answered, non-too eager to face my punishment. He looked at me as if I was just a speck of dust on his table and asked: Who called you? Like a child caught with his hand in a pot of soup I responded; I thought you did sah He merely looked at me like a dunce and went back to his work. To say I suddenly developed a headache was an understatement, It seemed as if my mind was playing tricks on me. On the way back to my seat, I again felt as if the whole class was staring at me. I nearly screamed, Their deafening silence reminded of the horror movie I saw the night before – Omen Part 1. Kai! That terrible movie. I heaved a sigh of relief when the final bell for the day eventually rang. That night my dreams were infested with love letters growing legs and wings like an ojuju-calabar, chasing me around our compound. The following morning was the worst in my life, If there was a time I ever wished for a bout of Typhoid, Malaria and Chicken pox fevers rolled into one, It was that day. I searched all through my body but could not find any ailment Even the runny nose I had the day before had disappeared. I paced up and down the children room willing for another idea to flow into me. And then suddenly it did, I devised another plan. Shebi if I break my head, I would be forced to stay home from school? The idea sounded good and I set about doing just that. I looked for a part of the room where the wall was smoothest, After confirming its smoothness I took five steps backwards, Measured my distance and positioned myself like Yokozuna, Whoever watched wrestling as a youngster would remember Yokozuna. I assured myself it would work. Then I took a deep breath and took off. BANG! Now I cannot remember which sounded louder that morning, The noise from outside my head Or the one that came from inside the head. Well…., that was the last thing I remembered before I fainted. When I came to, I stylishly opened my eyes No white sheets! No sterile smell! No smell of IZAL! Nothing to show I was in a hospital. Nothing! I sat up only to realize that I was still in our room o – the children room, with no one around me. I checked the clock to find out it was just 5.25a.m., Only 10 mins after I had hit my head against the wall. It was still too early for others to have woken up. Kai! I had suffered in vain. As I lifted myself off the ground my head ached terribly. I tried rubbing the area aching me only to find a lump right there like an Alade’s horn. Those who read ‘Alawiye Iwe Kerin’ will know about ‘Alade Wuwo’ ‘Yee! Mo gbe!’ I screamed as I touched it My woes had just compounded. How would I go to school now? (To be continued next week…..winks) Remember to check out www.deedeesblog.com out. I'm sure you will be inspired by our amazing stories and elegant contents. I have been following the Kardashians for quite a while now, Infact I almost betted with my friend that Rob was going to propose to Blac Chyna. I just did not know it was going to be pretty soon. Rob started dating Blac Chyna four months ago, despite obvious disapproval from family and friends. He has gone ahead to propose to the woman of his dreams. You see the irony of the matter here is that, Black Chyna is a BFF to Amber Rose, who dated Kanye West. Kanye West is the husband to Rob’s sister, Kim Kardashian. Black Chyna has a son for Kylie Jenner’s current boyfriend Tyga – King Cairo. Chyna had repeated issues with Khloe Kardashian, most notably as a result of remarks Chyna and Amber made over Kylie’s relationship with Tyga. Rob, major source of attraction here has kept mum over the whole issue and decided to hug the limelight again when he proposed to Chyna last week after dating for four months. This means that if Rob gets married to Chyna, he will become step-father to Blac’s ex Tyga’s son King Cairo while his half-sister Kylie, who is now dating the ‘Rack City’ rapper, would also become step-mother to the three-year-old if they got hooked. What a way to hug the limelight and what an IRONY! I just hope this will not be too complicated for the celebrity family because the earlier they come to terms with the fact that Chyna will eventually be an in-law. The better for everyone. Officially from me, congratulations to Rob and Chyna. Don’t be angry this is coming late. I apparently was too shocked to express my felicitations. I guess my congratulations are in order then. What do you guys really think of the engagement, will it stand the test of time, or make we sit down dey look? Follow your passion, be prepared to work hard and sacrifice, and, above all, don’t let anyone limit your dreams – Donovan Bailey I concluded my photography training and I wanted something fun, that would tickle readers’ interest. An everyday thingy in Deedees own way. Pictures of a place that reeks of strangeness, poverty but yet outstanding living amidst a cosmopolitan Lagos; Makoko came to mind. Makoko is a settlement of about 85,000 settlers situated at the Ebuta Metta diversion just below the Third Mainland Bridge. You will see the settlement if you are coming from the Mainland towards the Island through 3rd Mainland bridge. Naijdotcom described Makoko as unlivable, Wikipedia termed it the Venice of Africa, even Aljazeera claimed that it is a small fishing village built by fishermen who came from Benin to make money more than a hundred years ago, before it grew into an illegally constructed one-square-kilometer urban settlement. We got to Makoko at exactly 3:17pm on 12 March and then proceeded to the floating settlement. Segun our tour guide informed us of the need to meet with the Baale, but unfortunately he was not in. That notwithstanding we got the go ahead to move into the community and take pictures. After haggling with the guy that paddles the canoe, we agreed at a price to paddle his taxi canoe around the slum. Weird though, there were no available life vests to protect us from any form of mishap (I no go try am again in my life) LOL! It was crazy. The first odour that hit me was that of the brackish water. A very thick nauseous smell is what greets you as you enter the lagoon due to the dirt, poo and all sorts that have piled up over time. Untroubled by the smell, we forged ahead. Most of the inhabitants in the community are engaged in the fish selling business and I quickly noticed that the air was thick with fumes; smog seeps out from the hundreds of wood-burning kilns and smokehouses all around the community. Our taxi canoe maneuvered through the informal canal which serve as routes in the community. Hawkers were selling their wares along these informal canal as if it was the Sabo/Yaba market. From a mobile boutique to a local “Buka”, life is as enjoyable as living on the mainland. To satiate your lustful desires is a floating hotel very close to Timi’s barbers shop where you can decide to have a romp depending on your agreement with the seller of the ‘good’ if you know what I mean… (winks) My Take: Makoko is as amazing as it sounds, people live in such agonizing conditions and there has been no evidence of endemic or pandemic outbreak over the years. Amazing! I could have written more! Let me stop here and allow my timelines of pictures do justice to the rest. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Makoko. Wouldn’t you? See pictures after the cut: Visit my blog for more exclusive pictures http://deedeesblog.com/2016/04/16/my-amazing-makoko-story-life-in-lagos-slum/#Hv1dqcD6GFM9wfBt.99 Ajegunle is Up next! wanna join me in lifestyle/street photography. OP, Please come here and let me jam you kiss!. This is so so on point! Number 4,5,6,7 is so true. In present day Nigeria with so many bloggers now, the need to differentiate yourself arises. Networking is so important, that's why live events is key! Lagos is a fantastic place to thrive as a blogger. Mostimes when i get frustrated and tirred, i google the inspiring videos of top bloggers like OloriSuperGirl and SisiYemmie. Men, if you watch those videos, your life will never remain same. LOL! They keep me going! |
As controversial as i find the OP's post. I think it has a ting of sarcasm laced around it. This is not to put away his premise and conclusion to be an element of his conviction. We have all misinterpreted the concept of love to surround material things and that is why issues like this keep coming up. Ladies have now grown so fond of material things and guys have grown to adore batty and boobs more than the real deal. Moreso that the chase for physicalities have now gone on the rise, thereby relegating the basic elements of true love to the second tier. Bottomline is we should love based on our convictions, love truly but be careful. If eventually you are dumped, cry a little and move on. If a woman believes in marrying a rich guy so that the wealth she stands to benefit will serve as the cushion for heartbreak, BIKO, leave her to it, and if some other prefers dating the not so rich. Na their convictions. It is either a win win or a lose lose now in our relationship lives, so OP free them! |

Before I dote over you dear, let me quickly say this; if for any reason you come later than you would have wished, the fault is largely your mum’s. Howso? You may wonder. Well, in line with the fatherly love I have nurtured for you even before your conception, I have concluded that the greatest gift I can bequest my first seed is to make him/her come through the best possible mum. Now if you’ve got the brains of your dad I also expect you to query how I intend to find out the best mum for you when in fact you are still in where ever it is unborn babies abode. Now that’s a fine question and I’m proud of your inquisitivity. There are many best mums in the world. That’s one thing you need to understand. My mum is sure to heaven the best mum and I have heard my friends say the same of theirs’. Everybody claims their mum is the best woman after Virgin Mary. Of course, everyone can’t be right. The truth is, we can only have one best mum per siblings. My own special way of ensuring you get yours is to marry the woman I have fallen in love with when I had nothing. It is a bit complex to comprehend for your little brain but marrying a woman I’m sure I shall be happy with is the best way to guarantee you the best mum in the world. Trust me, all other factors are secondary. Dear unborn child, do you have any idea how frustrating it is to think I have finally inched closest to finding you that mother only for her to tell me she’s got proximity issues ? *shaking my head. I had to google the phrase. Not as if it helped matters though. But I promise you I won’t relent as I am convinced she is the best mum I can get you in the arrays of ladies in my friend circle. I know I once promised you the most beautiful lady with big breast…lol. okay, I was been selfish then and thinking more about me. Baby, can you hear me. Will you put in a word for me? Will you tell her I knew it was her the very moment I saw her? Will you tell her this is as important a decision for me as it is for her? Will you tell her her intelligence crippled my physical fantasies of women with big jugs? Will you tell her in her I know lies the strength in my weakness. Will you tell her unusual story makes me see the strength in her person, hence my fascination? Will you ask her what she thinks my motives are if not something beyond casual ? Can you make her understand if this was about some immediate gratification, I have enough common sense to be discouraged by the distance between us ? Will you find out how she feels about me ? I’m sorry I’m given you unnecessary tasks jor…. the mum I’m planning for you is driving me crazy. Maybe this ain’t your letter honey. Sounds more like I’m whining….. You know what dear? Lemme take care of where you’ll come from…it will make my next letter less complainful. I’m really sorry to have disturbed your peace at this moment. Stay patient and good.
