Politics › Re: Stop Inec From Spending 74 Billion Naira On Voter Regsitration by DisGuy: 6:29pm On Aug 09, 2010 |
deb: You really think the whole 74billion is for the election? A larger chunk is going into our politicians private accounts.
Wake up man this is Nigeria! As I write this, a lot of lobbying is going on in Abuja as to who gets the contract to provide the voter's registration software. Some of us have already presented the most perfect biometric solutions that INEC can ever imagine yet we are still not sure of getting contract. Competence does not count in Nigeria at least with our politicians.
The only hope for some of us now is that Jega does not trust his in-house people. I hope this project will not go to those fcking chinese who don't know anything. Thought they were buying it directly from the manufacturers, and the extra billions is as a result of the tight schedule, hopefully, NYSC members will be well rewarded this time around these perfect biometric solutions you've presented, have they been used or adopted by anyone before? Nigcomsat also said they have produced a biometric national identity machines and software but they cant provide a prototype or point to any organisation currently utilising their 'innovative' product |

Good News Danny Jordaan to run for CAF presidency 27 Jul 2010 News24
JOHANNESBURG — Danny Jordaan will contest the presidency of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) with Issa Hayatou.
According to the South African Football Association (Safa), Jordaan’s name will be put forward ahead of the 2011 CAF general elections.
Safa vice president Mwelo Nonkonyana says his organisation has lofty ideals about improving soccer in Africa, and feels that Jordaan is the right man to oversee its vision.
He told Sunday World: “Our position is clear. We want to transform soccer, not only in Africa, but in the rest of the world.”
Nonkonyana added that Safa has no intention of stepping on anybody’s toes, but is determined in its resolve.
“We have already consulted extensively in this regard.
“We have to know CAF’s views. We don’t want to antagonise people. We wish to make a difference,” he added.
“Change must come, but it must be a change for the better.
“We will nominate a person with extensive knowledge of the game, and a person who has demonstrated those qualities is Danny Jordaan.” |

medjai: The FA cup was on while the world cup was going on. The preliminary round started on 14th June. The date for the final is still unknown but it will played at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos. As for NPL chairman, Davidson Owumi was sworn in sometime around March. He won the election. BTW: I think it's time we adopted the standard way of playing FA cup, that is, it should run through the season just like it's done in Europe. I thought the elections were annulled if you notice theres no interview or comment from him since, and why have they still got a website i thought the northerners were always blamed for being incompetent and backwards the southerners are not doing anything different exactly, i dont get how they want to stretch everything through the year without a break during the summer or even rainy season, at least the younger players or subs can get a chance to show their worth in the team, if HitV wont bid for the rights make them give am to startime or is it starplus with NTA |

stop reposting, it will show up soon and to be honest i really dont see why you are bringing your business proposal herewhy dont you contact the NPL and other footballers
the clubs you just posted were not given automatic rights to be in the premier league or top divisions they qualified from lower leagues or were part of the founding leagues, if a club from lagos cant make it to the top division then tough they will have to do what other clubs do, play and gain points and your point about a missing lagos club is holding the league back is not strong enough!ig the Lagos clubs in the lower division cant get sponsorship packaging now to bring in best players who will take them to the premier league then i dont see how a Lagos team can add considerable amount of exposure or sponsorship to the league, they might be more fans in the stadium but probably more violence also = less sponsorship!

basically empty companies trading on the floor, trying to look for old artciles but as usual the newspaers cant be bothered to archive this is the only thing i found that summed it all up Another factor is the ability of unprofitable and illegal coys to trade effectively on the NSE. We had cases of coys like Capital oil, Afro Oil trading on the stock market with no visibile accounts, offices and no signs of any commercial activities going on in the aforementioned companies. Interestingly, these coys were much more valuable on the market than some fundamentally tested companies. or how do you explain a coy like Afroil selling for about N15 without any audited accounts for 3 years!! No visible trade lines, no visible business and they were selling far more than say Access Bank at that time NL member |
Politics › Re: Breaking News: Securities and Exchange Commission Sacks Okereke, Dangote by DisGuy: 1:58am On Aug 05, 2010 |
Onlytruth: All I know is that since Dangote showed interest in assuming the presidency of the NSE (something I think he is not qualified for ), all has not been the same at the exchange. Must the north head everything in Nigeria including things they have no clue about? to me the presidency is different from being the CEO of the NSE, why was he accommodated on the Board as a vp in the first instance, I dont care if he is the President of the NSE or im just happy this personal battles are being kicked out-something that should have been done a long time ago when the banks were obviously shown to be cooking and manipulating the books in fact madam should have been gone since the incident of capoil and Afroil, how companies with no financial or business transactions for several years could be listed on the NSE beats madam PhD Holder! |

Politics › Re: Breaking News: Securities and Exchange Commission Sacks Okereke, Dangote by DisGuy: 1:45am On Aug 05, 2010 |
Onlytruth: The picture is clearer now. I was alarmed initially that the president may have his hands on too many pies, especially as relates to private enterprise. That would be alarming indeed.
While they are at it, they must not forget that this woman built that exchange from under $2 billion in 1999 to over $100 billion last year.
My fear is that they would replace her with another Malam, and before you know it, the exchange would cease to be itself. Not saying that we should tolerate crime, but I'm yet to see why Soludo was replaced with Sanusi. I've followed Nigerian leadership history long enough to know that merit is alien to us. If by pure chance we get one ingenious leader in a position, like Ernest Ndukwe of NCC and this woman at NSE, why should we always scheme to oust them, only to replace them with mediocres? I'm watching this one. NO MALAM REPLACEMENTS PLEASE! Not its not any clearer, that's like saying Cecilia Ibru, Atuche were all sacked by the president through the CBN When the customs Service Comptroller General was replaced with an Igbo/SS person, no qualms, when the NCC was replaced by an Igbo/SS person no yawa but when a Muslim sounding name gets in there it become northernisation /marginalisation abi? totally weird As long as a southerner is there all is well - great where is bk/brooklyn boy when you need him |
