Inasmuch as i agree with you, but i think for people to be paying this bills, they need to give them the service
They cant charge you what they dont give you especially when you are on the meter- I think everyone should
go for the metre before the full price comes in; that way you are in control
Politics › Re: Electricity Tariff Set To Rise by DisGuy: 3:12pm On Mar 26, 2010
Consumers are in for more charges as the Federal Government may approve the take-off of a new tariff regime of N8.50k by the first week of June this year if gas supply remains stable.
it's been approved for over a year now, the govt has been paying ths different -MYTO or something like that
I beg to differ, there is no way you can discuss any internet related business in Nigeria without talking about fraud. They are tightly interwoven and cannot be classified as off-topic.
Its all part of helping the op make up his mind.

As for the emails. . .i no sabi oo
I totally understand but as you'd have noticed it's getting perosnal now

I dont understand how people expect to discuss Business-Internet-Nigeria without touching on fraud/trust

I think you should.

With the right technology, a government can have control over internet. China is a good example.
I'm talking about nigeria

this same nigeria where online account printouts or e-documents are not recognised by the courts
think about it, many discussions have been had on nairaland and i don't see anyone talking about it
all the anti-yaradua campaigns on facebook, all the pro-homo nigeria campaign, this one na lie!!

I don't believe this shyte

I have been having constant electricity supply over the last one week.
CONSTANT as in the accumulative power outage over the past week should be about 1 hour
I really dont know what is wrong. IS it restricted to my area, or has the '6000megawatts' been implemented and i didnt hear about it?

trueword:
I am getting confused here. Is the list of names that we have the final list sent by Jonathan to senate or is it some unfinalized list from somone else?

What Jonathan can do, if he doesn't trust the candidates presented by the governors, is to place those people in minister positions that are not very impactful. He can then place the 6 or so people he will choose himself in more important roles.
thats a waste of time and resources if you ask me! some ministries should be scrapped altogether just like osme states should be turned into a farmland

Ministries like Youth Development- i cant believe the guy was even nominated again, he promised to create 1 million new jobs then went ahead to sell scratch cards  undecided

National Sports Commission and Planning commission don't need a minister with all the freebies they should be privatised and the D.G should be paid on commission only!

Niger Delta ministry undecided

Hehe you were screaming when yar'adua was missing- now you have renewed enthusiasm about Nigeria cheesy

You seem like a sexist. I am uncomfortable around you undecided
Whats sexist about the post, that ministry has been handled by northern governors wife/associate for a very long time and they get little or no public attention basically that is where all the NGOs pack their cars, atten conference here and there usually north the river Niger, absolutely no support from the the house of rep, senator only femal legislators interested are those from the north- they are too slow!
Someone who can increase the number of position for female students gettin scholarship, female politicians and govt back SME funding specifically for women- Dora

SEFAGO:
Not true, certain people in Europe are above the law, just not an immigrant black man from Nigeria.
Not true, if he was a citizen he would be deported to his house after his term in jail, if he was from poland he would be deported like many have been after 'several' convictions
He was sentenced to five months in prison for driving while disqualified after twice being convicted of careless driving
I can bet my bottom dollar this guy get a tax-free car, free parking, free disability allowance- no wonder he is wasting money drinking and driving- telling everyone he won gold some years ago
Sports › Re: Britain Deports Its Five Gold Medal Nigerian Hero by DisGuy: 12:16am On Mar 24, 2010
^^ yes some migrants get priority treatment depending on their conditions, they get blood donated by citizens/residents and so on and guess the group that donate the least organ/blood  tongue

donating their body parts or common blood is not in their culture but they will gladly collect if it their turn  grin

anyway I'm not surprised by the british actions, they're known to be stingy sometimes so it has to do with them.
yes o, no wonder many illegals and capable nigerians flock their to give birth free of charge, some even 'snatch' vital organs meant for citizens and residents all in the name of fairness and compassion
Politics › Re: Ministerial List Is Out! Jonathan Leaves Out Dora (Sahara Reporters) by DisGuy: 12:09am On Mar 24, 2010
Sky Blue:
The list he has forwarded is the complete list (36 chosen by the governors and six chosen by him), and according to one of the ealier reports, Josephine Anenih was Anambra's submission, so what has that got to do with Johnathan? I still think all hope is not lost and we can put pressure on the senate, but for once let us not be deceived and make noise for the sake of it, let us actually channel our frustrations and hold who needs to be held accountable.
He can reject their nominations even before submitting them to the senate, if the senate reject tehm then he'll look dumb having to ask for another person from the governor again
Politics › Re: Ministerial List Is Out! Jonathan Leaves Out Dora (Sahara Reporters) by DisGuy: 12:01am On Mar 24, 2010
Dora should be given the Ministry of women affairs, that sector needs some ginger!!
I'm tired of seeing conservative governors wives heading the ministry doing cookery/tailoring course in the name of empowerment
Dora will be able to fight for the Child Rights Act, Anti-trafficking and more women representation in politics  grin

What has tribe or ethnicity to do with Common sense? What do you know of Dora's record as Minister of Communication, answer me!
She passed the budget (from the NTA DG) to the president without looking at it- that's a bloody record if you ask me!!!  grin grin grin
she is a thorough professional, i mean who else can attach their name to an 18 Billion Naira plan without reading the content??

The thing about nigeria and the corruption tag is that anyone and anybody can accuse you of it!!
as long as you have been accussed to be corrupt by 'confirmed source' or a 'source in the know' -it sticks!!!

You'd think this source would like to make name for himself by saying this openly but nah he'll rather hide behind
a hungry journalist who doubles as a nollywood story teller
