Guy, anyone that has travelled with an airline knows those people are crazy when it comes to names. If your name is A. Peters, you try changing it to O. Peters and you will hear the lecture of your life.

Same thing book a ticket to travel at 2pm and then literally 5 minutes later pick the phone to change it to a later flight, say 7pm and again you will have to sweat blood to get it done.

Better not to make the error in the first place
that is totally different, this guy has his name correct just the wrong way round
We need a very loud consumer protection agency or even media in nigeria
if enough noise is made tehy will probably be offering this guy an apology and offering free meals or something

people travel with 32.5kg 33kg etc this agent is just being a prick of the highest order

seriously though, is it the jos crisis that's bringing matters to a head in nigeria? huh

why is the north suddenly getting so ornery when before they used to just shrug off southern aggravation for the most part [aside from religious violence]

what's going on
its just a ploy to the more mileage with their impotent coalition, if this warning was for ordinary resident it wont even make the news, but look where its got with the mention of non-indegenes especially with the jos killings
southern aggravation is all theoritical mumbo jumbo online and newspapers as weak as they come! grin

We now have an igbo IGP in ONOVO, so i expect he does something real quick with that his big belly
he will probably need 365 to set up a committe to investigate this coalition

Thanks Sagamite, smiley

Actually, I just made a preliminary search of business schools that offer Msc with an IT slant and I've found a couple of courses in Uni. of Lancaster's Management School. Also, somone just told me that the Manchester Business School does a course called Msc. Business IT, even though I hv'nt been able to access their website angry!

Please advise me on the above in terms of reputation, employability, etc in light of your earlier post regarding Strathclyde.

Hope it aint too much to ask?

Ciao! grin
employability is large a personal thing not necessarily the reputation of your school, that can only take you to a certain extent, the rest depends on your experience, skills and character or achievement!

Investment › Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by DisGuy: 2:30am On Mar 15, 2010
Nigerian stocks headed for the biggest weekly increase in seven months, led by banking shares, as lawmakers moved closer to passing a bill that will enable a state-owned company to buy toxic debt from failed lenders.

The 213-member Nigerian Stock Exchange All-Share Index rose by the most in a month, advancing 2.1 per cent to 24,171.74 in the third hour of trade in Lagos, Bloomberg data shows. That‘s the highest level since August 14 last year.

Fidelity Bank Plc rose 4.8 per cent to N3.03, bringing its weekly gain to 18 per cent, the most in 16 weeks. Union Bank of Nigeria rose five per cent Friday to N6.51, an 11 per cent gain for the week. The exchange‘s Banking Index posted its largest five-day advance since August.

Demand for banking stocks has surged after the Asset Management Company bill passed through the second reading in the Nigerian Senate and was referred to the Banking and Insurance Committee, a Lagos-based analyst with Renaissance Capital, Mr. Akintola Akinbamidele, said in an interview. It will work with the capital market and finance committees to conduct a public hearing and report to the Senate within four weeks.

The above is a criminal allegation and if the writer of this article had any shred of seriousness in him as a human being he would launched a case against Soludo at the court as any responsible citizen should do.

The last time I checked he has not. This tells you how ridiculous and half-baked he is.

First off, I don't care about anybody's opinion on this but it is a known fact that "An average Nigerian is 10 times smarter than any other nationals". The only reason why any of Nigerian's crime is ever "over exaggerated" is because they see it as  an Oppression. Nigerians Oppressing other nationals with the brain they've got.

2ndly, I am sick of people attributing Nigerian's bad reputation to all this young boys and their hustle. It is not something of today.  It has been before the independence. Nigerians has been scamming before Christ. Nigerian independence itself was a scam, only if you know what i mean (The same way OBJ --> MTN to Nigeria was a scam, even though it has its advantages too. And that is what scam is all about). Everybody grew up in scam. Come to think of it, what do you expect of a kid who watches his/her mother boiling the rice/beans measurement in hot water in order to cheat costumers? What would that kind of a kid grow to be? Jesus Christ?

There is always a tendency of a criminal in all human. There is a tendency of a warrior in any Isreali. There is always a tendency of a terrorist in any afghan, same way there is always a tendency of a scammer/smartness in all Nigerians. It's a pure fact, so let "he who is without a sin, cast the first stone".
I dey fear my own people o, see as them they yarn as a matter of fact!! well proven as well without evidence!!  grin

Politics › Re: A Demonic Passion Among Nigerians And The Media by DisGuy: 9:49am On Mar 12, 2010
Its amazing how the Nigerian media and Nigerians in general indulge in this morbid passion for showing and viewing gory pictorial details of tragic events such as the Jos crisis or motor accidents.
Totally agree here!! I made sure every bloody topic with pictures of the accident/robbery was blocked in teh travel section

weird thing is the post usually start with 'look at man's inhumanity' why the hell would someone think it's something worth seeing- if the pictures are sent to the politicians and perhaps their children then fine but to millions of people online without putting a caution its absolutely barbaric, some people are very disturbed!! in some of the picture there are people actually bringing out their camera phone to take pictures of dead people's brain and I'm assuming they will want to share this with people in their offices, market place- barbarians!!!

Politics › Re: Cattle Dealers On Strike Starting Monday by DisGuy: 1:37am On Mar 11, 2010
The Lagos State governor, Babatunde Fashola, on Wednesday persuaded the striking cattle transporters in the state to resume their trade.

The transporters, who are of the Hausa/Fulani extraction, stopped transporting cattle into Lagos markets due to what they termed the ‘exorbitant taxes and levies’ imposed on them by the state officials.

The northern businessmen accused the state officials of insensitivity and high-handedness in their dealings with them and had refused to do business from last weekend.

This has resulted in the inability of butchers in the state to slaughter and kill cows, which in turn has led to low supply of beef in the state and sold at exhorbitant prices. The stoppage also had a bandwagon effect on the sales of pepper and other condiments which come from the northern part of the country.

A visit to the Oke-Odo and Mile 12 markets, which are the popular warehouses for pepper and onions, revealed that the prices of these commodities have become astronomical and unaffordable.

Abeke Jimoh, a pepper seller at the Oke Odo market, said this is one of the few times that she has witnessed the prices of these products rising so high in her over thiry years of doing business in the market.
