How many games do they play per season?

Seems Pillars lost a lot of steam after the game against al-Ahaly or perhaps they think they can just do one
and leave the other (premier league), with the way things are going they wont even qualify for confederation cup
Sports › Re: Why Is Super Eagle Playing In Abuja? by DisGuy: 1:50am On Jun 10, 2009
http://www.vanguardngr.com/?p=998

He had good reasons that FIFA which entrusted the match to him would have gladly commended. The Abuja stadium is a 60,000 capacity stadium. On Sunday, more than 65,000 found their way into the stadium. It was a security risk.

The crowd control was, as usual, poor. This time, it was not because the police could not control the crowd already inside the stadium but simply because more than the stadium capacity were allowed in, a question for those who printed and managed ticket sales. There were ugly scenes and Yeboah felt that it was not safe to start the match.

Things normalized a little bit and I saw that they would not get out of hand.”
People jumped parameter fences to get vintage positions. Outside the stadium was also bad. As usual, little was done to control traffic on the routes leading to the stadium. Vehicles jammed up in the chaotic traffic and this even affected the Super Eagles whose bus was also stuck in the traffic. Coach Amodu Shuabu and Idah Peterside were forced to jump out to direct traffic at the time they were supposed to be at the dressing room.

everyone wants a big family car even if its only them driving 7days a week

This car will be very nice for calmer states like ogun and kwara

the man openly said that in the last elections, no presidential election took place in his ward and that the election of Yar'Adua was not free and fair and People Defrauding Party suspended him for that. he also thwarted the third term ambition of OBJ. he said he would never seek re-election and followed his words.

You said "Lets not conclude that mortagages cause depression. One thing I know is that the poor (who cant afford to have mortgages ) do not have healthcare coverage and therefore are not available for your depression studies. Trust me they are depressed too"

Honey, I study people of ALL income levels. I have a population sample of over 30 million people, trust me, I know what I was saying. You dont, so dont assume you know what I am saying. OK? good. You are apparently too spoilt to know better. I am sure you are a teenager, dont you have homework?

Living in a country where one has access to mortgage loans is a good thing.

The misconception that it is a horrible debt to have and as good as imprisonment is wrong. I used to be a loan executive and underwriter for mortgage loans. It is definitely to be desired for Nigeria to be able to come up with more programs to help average families afford their own homes. The average Nigerian cannot build his own house until after twenty or thirty years of toil and sweat. Why do you have to wait to be so old and on the brink of retirement to be able to live comfortably with your kids in your own house? Its is simply about buying a home you can afford and making your monthly payments (like you would your rent) till it is totally paid off and the great part is that you can pay more than your monthly required amount. You can actually finish paying for that home in two years if you want. A stable secure job is definitely a plus with a good credit score. Nigeria has no real way of determining the credit worthiness of potential homeowners as there are no credit bureaus in Nigeria. so i wonder how that will work out. huh

Because I am a member of the House of Representatives Committee on Poverty Alleviation, I was able to get NAPEP to assist seven persons with loans ranging from N0.3 million to N1.8 million. Annur frowned at some politicians, who after winning election, dumped their people but only visited them during elections. "Politics is a game of number. I spend three days out of the seven days in a week in my constituency. I listen to everyone," he said.

Exactly, you will be the one acquiring skills!

I think the banks kind of messed everything up with wages, everyone thinking they should be paid around 100k
lets be honest even most banks dont pay upto 100k-during the booms years i'll like to know how much unity bank, wema bank, finbank paid their staff and i heard intercontinental is paying around 75k- this job to me is purely entry level with a fancy title! wink

I doubt the candidate will be working past 5pm, chasing customers on the street for deposit etc

Una mouth don open when you see hear 'bankers' salary, its the employers market out there
siddon dia they wait for mega pay, while mumsy dey feed you

on a serious level they shoulld have a band like 50k-100 depending on experience and qualification

I do research work on health etc. Most of the people interviewed suffer from depression. Most also have mortgages. Please deduce.
Mortgage is not bad. But if American mortgage with 4% interest rate is enough to make a perosn die from heart attack, then How about Nigeria's own with 25% interest rate. If you are a muslim, you should not even be asking about mortgage because I know for a fact that the Quran warns all muslims that Usury ( interest rates) is one of the greatest sins. In medieval Europe, Usury was outlawed, but because they wanted to make profit they re-interpreted Usury to be excessive interest rate. Usury is Usury. Interest is not bad per se until you loose your job I guess, but I just dont understand. The first house I bought, at closing I realized that if I paid my mortgage every month for the next 30 years. I Woould have paid over 250,000dollars in interests. Gosh, if you dont need it, dont get it.
we all need a house dont we?
why cant muslims ask about mortgage, theres nothing in the quran that says you cant take interest loan, its 2009 it's almost to avoid some of these things

This is why i love nairaland, for topics like this. DEBT IS BAD AND SO ARE MORTGAGES. so lets see, how much can you save from a 100k per month job to get a three bedroom family house?
mind you whilst saving, the cost of the house goes up too!

Business › Re: Kwara Agricultural Project by DisGuy: 1:03pm On Jun 08, 2009
naijacutee:
A couple of years on, I wonder how this project has progressed so far. Regardless of my earlier selfish post, I think that the initiative to invite experienced (Let us briefly forget their skin colour) farmers to use their experience towards developing the agricultural output of the state is a good one. Obviously, it would be even better if the government was more ethically conscious and local farmers weren't aren't neglected to make way for the new guys. I am not aware if they have done this but local farmers would stand to benefit from some sort of partnership with the white farmers. Be it initiation sessions, mentoring and general business development sessions once in a while - Isn't it a Yoruba proverb that says "A cord of 3 is not easily broken"?. Also, proper integration of the students into the initiative would be greatly beneficial to the state as a whole - especially in increasing productivity, curbing unemployment etc.
I have been following developments in the state and to be honest, the program is a big plus to the state and the country looking forward, local farmers are being trained and regular hold meetings with these farmers, you also have to understand some of them cant benefit as much, because they have no access to finance and equipment these farmers do.
The govt was involved in the last FG fertiliser scheme, apart from the FG discount they gave a further discount to farmers in the state about 15% extra with some local govt adding another 5%
The people of the region enjoy the benefit of govt special attention in the area-apart from 18-20hours of power experienced in the main city, they have new electricity stations and local health centres

The problem is some people dont know how to use debt effectively and its not entirely their fault
the economy is such a bad way bank and other financial organisation cant do anything but what they are doing now-lending to teh rich
Job security is almost zero, unemployment is extremely high and the law is not enforced properly

Debt is a normal part of business, business looking to expand and spread their capital/risk take advantage of loans

I agree with staggered polls in order to manage resources more effectively and put certain areas under better scrutiny, I have even suggested such on numerous occassions. What I am not sure of though is the Chairman's sincerity and genuine intention of achieving free and fair elections in Nigeria.
im still wondering if this man or anybody in the saddle has that much power when it comes to election in Nigeria, the little state chairmen and those at the polling vaults should be the ones watched closely, the system is just wrong, irrespective of the person in charge, with the current system and laws we wont achieve anything
