All these my tribe is better than yours threads . . .*sighs*

@ topic
When this Clifford Orji story came out, it was not treated as the issue--- "Igbo people are cannibals"--- as illiterate and tribalistic nairalanders have tagged it. Also, it had nothing to do with any propaganda by the Yoruba media against Igbo people. It is only natural for Orji to be the case in point because Tahiru was just an accomplice and as it appeared Orji was the leader.
Notwithstanding, I have been told by Igbo people (not another "enemy" tribe) I have interacted with that there's a place in Abia state where they eat human flesh. Maybe it is used as a scare tactic, I don't know and I don't care.
thank you jare

And I noticed most media outfits are owned by people from the SS, SE, shouldnt they be asked these questions?
Mr sunday agbeho* is not Yoruba!

The person who decides who has an inheritance is the person that writes the will. It's a gift and not something you earn or deserve.
an inheritance is not and will never be a gift, it is your rightfull portion that you must derserve from your father if at all you are a worthy son or daughter
no its not! its a gift from you father! your rightful portion is your own property you've worked for!

with the PDP dying; chance of Igbo president also dying?

honest question, no one should get over sensitive at me o!

As it stands right now, PDP/ANPP control the north (most ANPP members are PDP remnants)

the AC/AD is reclaiming the South West and

chances of PDP winning in the South East come next election is 50/50, others are small groups

They should introduce clocking in and clocking out cards too, or introduce a system that will calculate actual work done
so they can get paid accordingly-they should start paying them by the hour or the number of files they deal with! most civil servants are lazy and incompetent!

enough for some people to drive-just to drive around, to the corner shop etc grin
plus if can afford a car you can surely afford N100 a day lol

instead of going in one care some people actually follow each other!

I think Lagos state government should start charging according to the number of people in the car
or according to the amount of carbon monoxide they emit, the air quality

Travel › Re: New Ferry Service in Lagos. How Effective? by DisGuy(mod): 8:21pm On Mar 05, 2009
Good development wink

Kaestro:
The moment an effective water tranportation system is re-introduced into Lagos it will be almost certain the traffic jam and congestion issues will start to decline. It will be an ultimate breakthrough, Ultimate with a punch in the air.
True but at the same time the moment, traffic jam is on the decrease everyone gets their own individual vehicle to 'enjoy' the comfort of driving congestion-free. Apparently there are more cars now plying the oshodi route after the 'market' clear out causing more traffic and pollution.
I think the govt should do more by charging people for driving (daily) and re-invest the revenue on building and maintaining road networks; building proper traffic lights and mass transit vehicles

lucabrasi:
of course water transportation is a logical initiative which will go a long way in solving the bottlenecks, remember lagos geographically has more water than land, the government isnt stopping any private individual going there with their gondolas or ferrys or whatever as on the contrary their actions so far has shown they are actually in favour of this,so in my opinion,i think nigerians should step in  an individual capacity and invest in these forms of trans,it is not only lucrative but will solve the transportation problem in lagos to a large extent
the Government is not stopping potential investors per se, but potential passengers are not assured of their safety as there are no emergency service patrolling the river/waterways and laws guiding operators are not enforced or not in place. ferry operators should not be expected to provide embankments or 'stations' by themselves those should be in place, and the government still need to build other transport links to compliment the ferry services

The yellow light is programed and timed by the approved speed limit for the road you are driving on. If the road is a high speed limit road then the yellow light will go on for a while allowing you to slow down and stop and same for a low speed limit road.
In other words, whenever you see a yellow light, it means start to stop, if you are driving too fast and cannot slow down as fast enough then you should be arrested for driving above the speed limit. tongue grin
what's the speed limit on state road or in residential areas?

Politics › Re: Re-branidng The Nigerian Youth Image by DisGuy: 12:10am On Feb 24, 2009
I think the political parties in nigeria should recruit a 'Director of Digital Engagement'

The British government’s plan to appoint a director of digital engagement, with responsibility for overseeing a move to engage more with citizens through social media and other digital technology, has been ridiculed by the main opposition party.

The central government job has been created “in recognition of the huge increase in the use of the internet, digital communities and social media” and “will work across Government departments to encourage, support and challenge them in moving from communicating to citizens on the web to conversing and collaborating with them through digital technology.”
grin

I think Dora Akinyuli should start with a blog of her own!!!
