so what if they win by 5 goals primary school football or result is what we want!??

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by DisGuy: 1:56pm On Jan 17, 2009
Meanwhile, Wenger claimed that City's £95million move for Kaka would create a "disturbance" in the transfer market.

Wenger says the offer, which could include offering the AC Milan forward £13.6m a year in wages, shows that, just like Chelsea in the past, City are operating outside the normal parameters.

"It does not look real to me at all. It is like an abstraction," Wenger said. "It does not look in connection with today's world because on one side we have the economic situation which is quite worrying and for me this is abstraction.

"We live in a football club who lives in the real world. That means we spend the money we make from our income. The implications would be disturbance on the market, an inflationary trend in a deflationary world."

Politics › Re: How We Can Check Crimes In Nigeria. by DisGuy: 8:49pm On Jan 07, 2009
tpia:
good points.

Police officers should also receive better pay and better benefits.

Upgrade the housing and subsidize their kids' education.
I think nigeria is still the only country that operate these police barracks,
giving them extra pay (basically add their accommodation allowance to their pay) should be enough
and better training. I think the police should start an annual graduate recruitment scheme

the police should have database for criminal and traffic offences made available to employers,
then the law should be changed whereby employers have the right to ask for background criminal check
to weed out those that have committed serious crimes and also those looking to work in education should be barred completely if they committed any crime in the past. certain occupation should also bar those with traffic offences
This way people think twice before committing a crime especially potential politician and teachers.

reduce the option of fines for crime or outlaw it completely-compulsory imprisonment
build bigger prison
I've always wonder why people caught carrying cocaine at the airport are never shown on National TV to act as a deterrent to others
Politics › Re: Black Or White: Who Is More At Practical Racism? by DisGuy: 8:31pm On Jan 07, 2009
I think he means including Mexicans and 'others'

wariowei:
Recent changes around the world today have shown the fact that blacks are worse when it comes to racism. Yet, we complain more on the issue.

Today, before our very eyes a black man rose to becoming the president of a country that has only about 22% blacks. Is it not amazing?! Now, turn the table the opposite direction, will a black man give presidency to a white man with that percentage in population? No oh,  you sef check am na.

If the Igbos like they should take half the population of Lagos, the Yoruba man will not give them governor of Lagos State. And so it is with other regions of the country. Even if a white man has family line in Nigeria and he's as good as any thing else, they wont give him president. When will a white man become the president of South Africa?

You can see that blacks are fighting racism, yet they are racist themselves.
if the hausas are 12-22% in igboland will they be 'given' governorship? and this idea of giving people position is a bit irritating, some igbos always saying they wont 'allow' Igbo man to become president, you dont allow people, you work for it by hook or by crooks you join the mix its not like someone allow you!

If you change the law of the land, whereby there are no settlers and indigene just Nigerians where everyone is qualified to become a candidate-its now up to the electorate to vote for whoever they want wink
Politics › Re: It Is Chaotic Uk by DisGuy: 8:02pm On Jan 07, 2009
OutlukBabe:
The UK economy is a financial economy. Manufacturing sector in UK have collapse. Companies have closed most industries and moved to either China or India. Everything in UK is own by foreing companies. BP is the only major UK company. If u look at all the products in UK, they are all imported either from China, Taiwan or South Korea. Infact in UK even the energy companies are own by foreing companies. RWE npower, Eon, Scottish Power are own by German companies. The nuclear industry was also recently sold to EDF. The price of basic commodities is sky-rocketting because the pound is have lost its value. Now Euro bys more than a pound. So every single commodity imported into UK through any European company is more expensive. Most commercial shipping lines are own by European companies. UK economy is just the glory of old horse. The only thing that will salvage UK economy is for the American economy to recover very fast.
The UK is a financial and service economy not 'heavy', manufacturers have outsourced or moved their industries to teh far east or eastern europe because of tax, raw materials and low wages and it make sense doesnt it? I very sure you wont accept a job for 0.60p-£3/hr!!! Other countries will be dying to foreign businesses pay their citizens that much (cloth makers for primark, oasis, mk one and co!), second most of the resources are based outside the UK so why not cut the the cost of dong business and making everything in other region

the fact that most businesses in the UK are owned by foreigner shows that the UK has very conducive environment for business, the companies are profitable and generally well managed plus the UK govt are on top of things when it comes to monitoring and punishing those that don't play by the rules- its globalisation in its 'purest' form  grin

Probably a classified news, look for it u will find it like i did.

Resources like oil, especially in  the sea suppose to be a national cake and it should be handled by the government for maximum people's benefits, not shylock tycoons who gives no shit about the people, always out for maximum profits just because of their political and money connections.Imagine how domestic gas and electricity prices keep rising even when crude is falling

Making billions while the people are paying through their noses.
why do you think the place is developed, as long as you have regulations it better to leave everything to private business(apart from the military and police), that way they will be efficient with their resources and maximise income for the govt through tax, employment etc, else everybody will be a government worker

gas/electricty rose way before the fall of crude oil and you have to remember they buy these commodities in advance so the price should fall some months after price depreciation

basically you are thinking of holding him up at the airport for several hours, while the customs grill you/tell you8 off or even fine you for breaking THEIR rules! imagine someone coming to pick you at  2pm having to wait several hours just because you want some dried  pomo or snails. he knows there's everything available in London that why he told you not to worry!

I believe you can make it anywere as long as you understand the system and you have will power.
well captured, the problem is the system is designed with everyone in mind, especially those who wants to take the money 'out' cool

wumiabo:
The truth is my standard of living in Nigeria is better than here. I can afford everything, light, water, car driver, gateman. Tos can you afford to have a driver in the UK? but am sure u had in Nigeria. (please this is relative just for the sake of argument) don't let us deceive ourselves with constant light and water illusions when you are paying for every bit of it. Even if PHCN likes let them not bring light for a week, my 1mth house rent here (£600) will buy a generator and fuel it in a month.
Sorry but why did you travel to the UK since your standard of living is better in Nigeria?
or should i say why didn't you come back?
don't let us deceive ourselves with constant light and water illusions when you are paying for every bit of it
surely if you use it you are meant to pay for it, no?

All human beings are equal even though some are more equal than the others but the disparity doesnt have to be so wide.
sorry, did you live in nigeria at all?
