The fabulous golden eaglets were held to a massive reception yesterday night by the Lagos state govt.

the govt promised them: a life insurance of 100k paid on annuity basis for each players and officials while the coach 200k. also they were promise 400k shares in LASACO worth 400k and the coach got 800k. but the coach was avoidably absent. they were also given a plaque.

they were also taken round major street in lagos after leaving the airport

next stop is Abuja
wow good on them, I wonder if yaradua need give them money again. presidential handshake is enough o after all these gifts, im sure they got match bonus for every game they won cheesy

Just imagine all the states in Nigeria want to 'receive' them and chop their own money with style wink

Those that are 17 should now be used in the U-20 team if they are good enough

How much did the contract(job letter) state the graduate will get before he signed up?
How much was advertised when the applicant applied for the job?

What sort of job is it?

Did the employer give genuine reasons for not paying for four whole months?
Travel › Re: Don't Travel To The UK: No Jobs Anymore by DisGuy(mod): 2:52am On Sep 11, 2007
You don't think you are anything special just because you have a degree or other qualification. In the UK lots of people have degrees. When you are looking for your first job you are still a trainee level employee as you have no experience, so you have to accept that you will be starting at the bottom, just like UK graduates. He had one employee who complained about her rate of pay as an admin assistant. She thought that because she was a graduate she should be paid a graduate wage regardless of the actual job she was doing. Sorry, but you are an admin assistant so you get paid an admin assistant's wage.

Don't be snobby about what work you do. I get the impression that a lot of Nigerians think they are too good to do certain things. In UK companies everyone (especially new people) are expected to 'muck-in' and tackle all sorts of tasks and not be snobby about it.
very good advice wink
Islam › Re: Muslims: What Did You Learn In Islam Recently? by DisGuy: 2:15am On Sep 11, 2007
would the British have done the same if the reverse was the case, would they named their kids or themselves, ifeanyi, emeka, ikechukwu in stead of peaches, brooklyn and apple; would theywear red hats blah blah blah if Nigerians introduced them to the religion?

2) Pat Utomi: for studying the uniqueness of Nigeria and solving problems according to the Unique culture, people and terrain.
such as undecided

1) Uthman enslaved more Nigerians than the british did. They were "mailed" over to Arabia. And islamic rule can NEVER be democratic.
true, only American rule can be democratic lipsrsealed democracy can only be defined by Americans wink

You can also stay off campus, the prices are not that much anyway just £10-£30 difference
the school can give you a list of houses available off campus from registered landlords
get one that is not far from everything preferably walking distance- campus, city centre, and fun

He'll still come good, he'll last, seems he doesn't even want to win in that race, Tyson is making mouth da typical Yankee way, Asafa came out of the block very well just couldn't be bothered for some reason after 60ms

if you watch the heats properly he did the same, after 60-70ms he cools down

be careful with jobs that offer to pay cash in hand, they are more likely to pay you below minimum wage and treat you anyhow; basically you wont be covered by law
Politics › Re: Soludo Begging Yar'adua: Is He A Weakling? by DisGuy: 4:16pm On Aug 28, 2007
He may also have to call meeting of all the major stakeholder and the Nigerian people and openly apologies.

Even if the CBN has full independence , he should understand that Nigeria is not yet ripe for his type of economic thinking and some other pecularities that is called Nigeria.

I beg Nigerians to forgive him once he apologies and let him get on with his job.
why should he apologise? just because his proposal wasn't accepted? He should get on with his job esp the more important aspects that have real impact on the economy.

I think he should make a call to the other ministries to do more, the banking sector alone cant improve the economy
